I had heard good things about this restaurant and thought my family and I would try it out. We ordered some appetizers and each had a main dish. The appetizers were delivered at the same time as our meal. The manager came out an apologized. We ended up not eating the appetizers because we did not want our Chicago style pizza to get cold. When the bill came the appetizers were still on the bill. I overheard the manager apologize to a table next to us for the same problem and offer to remove the appetizers from their bill. Not very customer service oriented. Spend your time and money some place else. read more

Husband and I gave this a whirl after completing our Christmas shopping. We had eaten in the previous place that was there, and did not like the atmosphere or the food, we walked in and were pleasantly surprised, and equally as impressed with the menu. I tried to order several different things but they were out, so I decided with Eggplant parm. It was fantastic. Our waiter was fantastic, he was warm and friendly and actually was genuine about his comments about the restaurant and the fellow staff members. read more

I have been here several times now. The food is always great! The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that the food always seems to take forever to come out. The last time we went, it took 40 minutes for our pizzas... but when they came, they were worth the wait. Staff is always friendly and helpful. read more

I had the lasagna, it was very good. Tried the calamari as well as a starter and it was tasty. Cooked well.

One of my go tos in Gilbert,AZ. I get take out a lot but sometimes I sit down when I'm with family. I have tried almost every single pasta dish. My favorites are the Big Rig and Alfredo the dark. I also never leave without getting a garlic cheese bread. It comes out on a huge double loaf of bread and ALWAYS gets demolished quickly. read more

Great food, amazing service. Caroline is an amazing waitress, very nice and accommodating. Thanks for a great night out with the family. Your service made all the difference. :) read more

My most favorite pizza joint in Arizona. Service is always good. Even after a short Wait to be seated its worth the wait.

I absolutely have loved Oregano's until recently. My husband and I have been patrons of this restaurant for 22 years, back then I think there were only a couple of their restaurants here in the valley, and we usually had to go to Scottsdale to get our fix. Over the years, we've brought family and friends numerous times, both local and from out of town, and we've brought large and small groups to them over the years. However lately their customer service seems to have gone out the window, maybe they've gotten too big for their britches, but I'm not impressed. I called in to the Gilbert Rd location a couple of months ago because my two daughters wanted to go for their birthdays. We were a group of 22, so I called in a few days before to give them a heads up, since they make it clear they don't take reservations. I was told by the gal who answered the phone quite rudely that they don't take reservations several times, and I kept explaining that I understood but was just trying to give them a heads up as I had done in the past. Nonetheless we showed up on a Sunday afternoon about 2pm, so it should have been their slower hours, and was informed by the manager that we would have anywhere from an hour to two hour wait. He explained that he didn't have enough staff on hand to give us their larger back area, and that they only had one area big enough to handle us. He asked why I didn't call in and give them a heads up???? I then explained that I had tried, but was ignored. We ended up walking our group of 22 people across the street to Zinburger, where they graciously made room for us, and even the manager jumped in and helped to serve us! Thanks to Zinburger, my daughters were able to celebrate a nice birthday! Today I thought I'd give them another chance, since it's my oldest daughter's birthday and we only have 11 in our group. I once again tried to call in to give them a heads up, and was again told quite rudely by a female manager that they don't take reservations and that the heads up didn't matter, we would still have an hour or hour and a half wait. So I'm done, I've tried. I will give other restaurants my business from now on, obviously Oregano's doesn't care enough to give good customer service anymore, and even good food can't overcome their crappy attitudes! read more

Your restaurant used to be so great, and now this... Oregano's I continue to be disappointed in you. We were working around the house last night and needed someone else to cook for us. We ordered a baked meatball sub and the stuffed mushrooms plus a salad to go. Now you would think that the staff would know better than to pack a piping hot sub in the same box with a pickle and chips. Nope! So we got a really warm pickle and very soggy steamed chips plus the sub with hardly any sauce. Seems like you guys think your sauce is worth its weight in gold because we always have to beg for more of it. The mushrooms were not even 3 inches across and had very little stuffing in them and finally, the salad greens had numerous bad spots in the lettuce. I think we'll go to Sal's Pizza next time. read more

Everything on their menu is so delicious! Everytime! Including their mojitos!! My only thing is they always say a crazy long wait time and then it's just a couple minutes. Last night I was told it would be 45 mins and it was a perfect night so I didnt mind sitting outside waiting and we waited only 6 minutes before we were called. We've been here many many times so we know that's their trick. and i get it. Rather over estimate than under estimate. but they have got to be losing business telling people the outlandish wait time when it's really not bad at all. Theres been many times I've just turned to the order out counter after being told the wait time. read more

I tried to use the check in app they have and it told me I had to call in. So I did. Then they told me I had to go back and download more things and proceeded to tell me I still had to check in person. I asked then if I could simply check in by phone and check in by person. I was told no. It must be nice not to care about your customers!! I am going to spend my time and money elsewhere. read more

We are loyal Oregano's fans, we love it! The staff are always friendly and we rarely have a negative to say and today is no different. Shay was our server this evening and she was fantastic! She was one of only two servers and was running around as it was an incredibly busy night. With all the hustle and bustle she still took the time to chat with us, and was amazing. Well done to the entire staff! read more

Went in with my family for my sisters 19th birthday and the host working on Sunday around 6pm was extremely rude to me and my family and gave attitude to all of us. Definitely recommend looking into this I've never had a worker treat me or my family with such disrespect. read more

I've been to this restaurant countless times since it opened, and I love the food, service, and ambiance. However... the level of cleanliness seems to have fallen. Today at lunch, a large cockroach scurried over my dad's chair, right behind his shoulder, almost touching him. At 2pm. The middle of the day! I'm no expert, but roaches don't usually come out in the daytime unless there is a bigger problem. If I hadn't already eaten, I would have left. Please please clean up your restaurant. I'll settle for one of the other valley locations in the meantime. read more

We have four young kids and have a hard time finding restaurants with food we all like, but this is one of our favorites! We love to eat out on the patio at this location. Our kids love the painted murals on the nearby walls. We LOVE that the servers bring out pizza dough for the kids to play with while we wait for our food. The Pablo Picasso salad is phenomenal! My husband doesn't normally like salads and he loves this one. Lots of chicken and other yummy toppings so they're something yummy in every bite. We also love the thin crust pizza and the pesto pasta with sausage. The Alfredo the Dark pasta with chicken added is also fabulous. It has the perfect amount of kick so it's an extra yummy alfredo. We order the Mac n cheese from the kids menu with a side of grilled chicken for our kids and it's not your average kraft Mac n cheese like some restaurants serve. It's homemade and delicious and a big enough portion for two kids to share. Their garlic bread with marinara is a super yummy appetizer to share. We've done a big office party here, catered pasta for a church holiday party, and gotten take out several times and we always love it! Fabulous food and fair prices for the portion sizes. One of our favorite Italian places! read more

Italian restaurants are always my go-to when having to decide on a place to eat. Oregano's Pizza Bistro always seems to be my top choice as my boyfriend and I eat here quite often. Every visit at this unique, retro-style restaurant I am always very pleased with my food dishes and the service. We have visited multiple locations and so far the Downtown Gilbert location is our favorite! In order to avoid a long wait time due to its high demand, we place our name on the list via Yelp so we can get there when our table is said to be ready. The food is always pristine as it comes out hot and overloaded with the best italian flavors. The spinach artichoke dip is the best appetizer I have ever ordered from an Italian restaurant. It is served with fresh pita bread that is topped with the perfect amount of melted cheese. The appetizer is so delicious that my boyfriend and I can devour it just between the two of us! In addition to their amazing pizzas, everything I have ever ordered on their menu is to die for. It is usually rare for a place with such a large menu to have mastered their every dish, but Oregano's sure has! All of their items are served in large portions so they can be easily shared. My boyfriend and I have recently discovered our love for the Big Rig pasta, so after scoffing down the artichoke dip we share the pasta and still have enough left over to bring home for a next-day lunch. Last but definitely not least, the dessert that makes this restaurant so popular- the pizookies- is one reason alone to visit Oregano's. They come in various different cookie options such as chocolate chip and white chocolate macadamia nut (my favorite) and topped with the perfect scoops of vanilla ice cream. The cookie is always so warm and the ice cream somehow does not melt before you finish the entire thing. The best part is that everything is set at such an affordable price! We only pay $30 total for a three-course dinner! This is exceptional due to the fact that we are eating high quality food for a very low price. To also enhance the pleasant experience of Oregano's, the atmosphere is stupendous. It has a 50's vibe with abstract decorations and paintings on the wall. The servers also wear their usual black Oregano's shirt with a creative saying on the back. Even their uniforms imply that it is a laid back restaurant where you are meant to relax and enjoy good food. They are also normally playing jazz-like songs, so it is very chill and does not overbear your conversations. Despite the fact that it is always very busy, the servers are always very responsive and stay on top of all of their tables. All of the food always comes out in a reasonable time frame even when there are only 2 guests, or if there are 10! I have yet to have any service that was less than outstanding. I would highly recommend Oregano's Pizza Bistro to anyone and everyone who is looking for delicious food, affordable pricing, and friendly service! read more

The food is always amazing here but tonight our service was outstanding. Jerry was our server and he was so great. Thanks again Jerry!

Food was spot on and service was great. We had several different entrees and drinks. All was so good.

I called the Scottsdale Oregano's and was told they are no longer offering their steamed broccoli and brussel sprouts. I usually order a pasta dish but my wife who is on a Keto diet always gets a side order of meat balls and broccoli. Discontinuing vegetables in a predominantly carb based menu is not a smart move. PLEASE bring back those vegetables or my wife will "make me an offer I can't refuse" which will be going to a different restaurant. read more

Called to make a reservation and they lady who answered was rude. She had said they don't do reservations and I'm more than welcome to rent the catering room, then I asked how much and she directed me to another call wth? Really? So had a big party of 22 brought them business and the waiters we're rude, kept looking for their service. I wouldn't go back here. read more

We think the place is so overrated, you really expect something extraordinary out of a place like this. Many people refer to the ambiance, I guess those who go for the booze, nothing really great, however, to make a long story short, we ordered two deep dish pizzas [you're warned of the 45-minute wait of course], the order was messed up, one of them was supposed to have real bacon and they put canadian bacon instead, the other one wasn't supposed to have any meat at all and they also added the canadian bacon, but they forgot to put black olives. My Dad's Italian Wedding Soup was ok, but the presentation of the dish is ridiculously done [they could use a real soup bowl, they used a HUGE salad bowl instead]. Our server was not as friendly as I read in other guests' comments. She was very condescending. We asked her for a to-go box and she came back tapping it with her knees all the way from where she grabbed it. Besides, it took her more than 20 mins. to do a check back on the food. She never smiled [was probably having a bad day]. The pizzas need more flavor, they tasted just like those you get in the freezer at the grocery store [DiGiorno's has a better taste, not kidding]. Just because the place looks busy doesn't mean the food & service are good. We think people are disguised by that. We're definitely not going through this experience ever again! read more

Connor has been our server the past few times, and she's amazing! She's very attentive and sweet, and is very well informed about the food. Amazing service and great food!! read more

This was my first time here at Oreganos I came here with my boyfriend tonight , it was extremely packed waited a long time to be seated and receive our food BUT despite the wait we had nothing else to do our server was so so sweet and nice and kept checking up on us to see how we were doing , then the manager came out I think he was the manager and checked up on us and was telling us our food would be out soon . The whole experience was great because everyone there was super nice and great at their job . I know a lot of people would throw a fit and complain and yell when they don't get their food quickly but I'm not one of those people to do that I know everyone there did everything they could on a busy night they were all excellent it was not at all their fault , in the end we still got our food I got my meatball sandwich my boyfriend got his stuffed crust pizza, and let me say, it's delicious ! I'll definitely be coming back :) read more

Delicious! I went here for a business meeting and I was impressed on how good the pizza was. I will defiantly be returning.

Most overrated place in Gilbert for 2008 goes to Oregano's. The pizza sucks. The pastas are great. Especially the 6 inch Ravioli. The hostess and wait staff have been sometimes rude and annoying. If you want pizza, go to Grimaldi's. Because this place is so overrated, there is always an ungodly wait to be seated. Don't even waste your time. There are better places. read more

Don't even try to go on a weekend. The hostess told us 3 different wait times in one hour & we just kept waiting longer than we should have. They know their times r inaccurate. It's a waste of time if ur hungry. We won't go back read more

Well it has been sometime since our last visit. This time All 3 of us were disappointed a little. We ordered a 1/2 &1/2 large thin crust pizza. The waitress did not explain that to customize a pizza was an upcharge. The pizza was burned on its edges and soggy in the middle. The wings were good, very consistent. Not much to brag about. A large pizza, 1 dozen wings and 3 drinks, 52.00.. wow!!! I really could have gone elsewhere for less money and better pizza. Maybe next time.. ummmm. Not anytime soon. read more

This location has always been our favorite. Excellent food with exceptional service and today was no different

Best authentic pizza place around ! Food is always perfect and atmosphere amazing !

C wanted pizza and since his rehearsal was just down the street at the community center, what better place to go. We got here about a quarter to 5 and the inside dining room was almost full. For a Thursday night, I was impressed that it was that busy. There was plenty of seating outside however, and the two bar areas were also empty. Our server was Andrea. She was very good. She was attentive, kept our drinks filled and made polite small talk when appropriate. We ordered a 16" Thin crust with sausage ($15.98) and a couple drinks ($2.59 ea). The pie came out hot and bubbly plus the crust wasn't burnt (as it has been at this and other locations). Winner winner pizza dinner. C was very happy and he knows his Oregano's. He's been a regular of the Oregano's chain since he was 8 weeks old (he's almost 10), has been to the opening of two locations (Chandler & Paradise Valley) and pretty much says Oregano's is his favorite restaurant. Now I've been going to Oregano's since they opened in Old Town in 1993, have been to every location except the newest in Goodyear and definitely have eaten at this chain more than anywhere else. This was a good experience. I don't know how it could have been better. Great pizza, fair prices, nice attentive server. 5 Stars read more

Huge Menu, Friendly People, Good Food. I really like oregano's for their wide selection. I took my date here in lieu of cooking (unfortunate bill issues left me with no gas for a few days) and she ordered the ravioli and I got the BBQ chicken thin crust pizza. It was really flavorful and I enjoyed it. The only downside (which cost them that fabled 5 stars) was the fact that it is strictly call ahead seating. This place gets BUSY... and when it gets busy the wait can be pretty bad because all of their food is made from scratch (you can taste it). Other than that... fantastic meal and get the desert cookie thing they have. SOOO Good! read more

Pizza here was okay.. I ordered their wings and calamari for appetizers. Wings was decent and calamari was good. It's soft when you chew it unlike other calamari they're rubbery. I had their Puerto Penasco Carne Street Pie Pizza. I was really hungry after I finished the appetizers. I waited for at least half an hour till the pizza got to our table. I'll be honest I'm very impatient especially when it comes to food taking that long. No excuse. I had 2 small slices and after that I wasn't that hungry anymore cause the wait was too long. Pizza was okay and everything else. It didn't wow me especially the service. I'm not too sure if I will come back here. read more

Was able to sit down as soon as I arrived thanks to the yelp waitlist. The food was delicious and our waitress was very friendly!

The worst service I've ever had, my wife and I waited 45 mins when they told us 20 mins and then when I went to ask what was taking so long I got attitude, and our server was so slow and it wasn't ever that packed. Be prepared to wait and have horrible service read more

I hope the food is better than the service. It's been 51 minutes and I finally got my drink. I was told 20-25 minutes before I would get a 4 top. Gave them until 30 before I courteously checked on my wait time. After another 10 minutes we arrived at our table where before I could sit down my hand fell into a puddle of what seemed to be a salsa or sauce. That sauce was also in a puddle on the floor at our feet. I stood and waited for a waitress to grab a rag but after 5 minutes of standing I went to the manager and asked if I could borrow her rag to take care of it myself. I don't mean to be rude but honestly I can take care of it myself if your staff is going to half a$$ it. Finally the manager went out and grabbed the mop and mopped the floor for us. Thank you manager. We then waited another 10 for our waters and my soda. Anyways, food better be good I'm sure it'll be another 45 minutes until we get that. Hope it's worth the service. Update: food was pretty good. Didn't take too long. Lindsay helped try and turn the night around a bit so I appreciate that. Regardless I only adjust this review to a 3 star from a 2. I would hear from my boss at the restaurant I work at if a guest had this kind of complaint about service. Hope moms birthday gets better with a pizza cookie. We will be going to the Dobson location if we decide to come again. I heard they are better then the Downtown Gilbert location and as of right now I probably agree. read more

We love Oregano's! The kids are entertained with the raw pizza dough that they can shape and play with until the food arrives. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the calamari strips - they are my favorite items and I could just eat these and ignore the amazing pizza and pasta dishes. But alas I have to share and so still have room for the pizza - all of the pizza is great but I really enjoyed the customizable options and I loaded my thin crust up with sun dried tomatoes, black olives, onions, and peppers. My hubby had the thick crust pepperoni which he shared with the kids. We also had the garlic bread which was so yummy too! And last but certainly not least is the Pizza Cookie imagine a thick fresh baked cookie topped with rich melting vaniall ice cream - pure heaven! Strongly recommend hitting this place up at least once, the long lines, which you will see every night of the week can attest to the delicious food that this restaurant puts out. read more
