Stopped in on my way home from the science center to get my kid a waffle and water. I was overwhelmed by all the choices and options, especially the syrup menu. I wanted something more than just a plain latte. The barista was VERY helpful and told me the banana bread latte was a fall specialty drink that was made a regular menu item by popular demand, so obviously I had to try it. It was true to its name and delicious. My husband also loved his plain americano. Very smooth. My son also downed the waffle like it was his job. I was also very grateful to the barista that gave me a water cup with a lid rather than me buying a $5 water bottle. I will definitely be making this a snack stop after the science center every time. There is not a lot of seating from what I saw or parking that I noticed. Definitely a grab and go type of stop, but 100% worth the drive by!

My oldest daughter and I were walking around the neighborhood doing errands. We decided to drop by this coffee shop for a latte to share. The Interior was nicely decorated with two separate sitting area. We ordered a large iced vanilla, blueberry, and ube latte. The cost was $6, which wasn't bad at all. The latte was refreshing and tasted good. The only negative was the ube taste was a little lacking. Employees were friendly a d efficient.

Really cute little spot! The whole order and chaos theme is really well done and the coffee was good (I had a turmeric latte). I was a little surprised there were only two staff for a Saturday morning; service was a bit slow as a result (it wasn't jam packed either). I can't speak for the food because we just grabbed drinks, but overall it was a nice vibe and a fun place for a morning coffee.

Great seasonal coffees and friendly staff. Cool vibes and good music. Great place to relax or get a little off site work in.

The waffles are to die for! They're so good. The staff is friendly, they have decent prices and the environment is clean and welcoming.

Never been here before but I had a business meeting across the street and missed my morning coffee. Stopped in and I typically order a pour over, but noticed the Berries and Cream Seasonal Latte and had to give it a whirl. Got it in less than a few minutes and oh my gosh I am so happy I ordered this. It was incredibly delicious and left me wanting more. I'll happily return here next I'm in the area.

Cool place to grab a coffee and breakfast. The chi tea was good, I'm not sure if it was because I went on a Sunday afternoon and the seating area was Empty prior to my arrival but the lights seem to be motion sensor. While I was enjoying my tea the lights shut off about 2-3 times which was a bit odd.

Such a hidden gem that I wish I would have discovered sooner. Although I did not try much on their menu - only a matcha latte - it has been one of the best (if not THE best) I've had in Baltimore and makes me want to come back and try more things. The matcha latte + the friendliness of the staff + the chill and cute ambiance are absolutely enough to bring me back. It is a small seating area, however, and as a heads up, street parking can be a bit rough!

Who doesn't love a flavored coffee? If you're into fun flavors in your drink, this is your spot. They have a long list of syrup options plus seasonal ones to try. I had the cinnamon bun iced latte which was good, but my friends toasted marshmallow latte was much better! Their merch is super cute and the shop staff was nice and helpful. They also have various milk options for the lactose intolerant like myself!

I stopped by after breakfast at Home Maid. The space was clean. The baristas were quite busy and didn't take long getting drinks out to customers. I was overwhelmed by the menu of syrup options- too many choices for me. I decided to try one of their seasonal drinks. I ordered a brown sugar cold brew with maple cold foam. The drink was delicious. I was worried about it being too sweet but that wasn't the case at all.

Chicken and waffle sandwich- moist chicken and it was not too sweet

This is such a cute cafe. Food/Drink: ~$17 -I ordered a 12oz iced latte with a shot of brown sugar syrup. I liked the coffee but I couldn't taste the brown sugar flavor shot. -I also ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich. It was delicious and hearty. I didn't finish it in one sitting. Experience: I enjoyed the friendly nature of the staff and the indoor and outdoor seating. I also saw a flyer for an upcoming, small business pop up. I like that they are using their space to connect with the broader community. Several groups of people came in that seemed to be regulars so I got the impression that it's a local favorite within Fed Hill. It was clean, had good background music and a modern design aesthetic.

It was a nice day... maybe one of the last nice weather weeks before the real fall weather hits, so I decided to work from this Coffee shop. The team here is very welcoming and knowledgeable. I'm a true Autumn queen so I ordered the Pumpkin Cheesecake Latte and the raspberry pastry. The latte was good, but not what I expected. I will be back to try their other selections. I sat in the outdoor sitting area.

Short answer: absolutely worth it!Long answer: I'm already thinking about my next excuse to come back. Walking in, the space immediately delivers. The aesthetic is awesome-- the kind of intentional, beautifully designed interior that feels warm and curated rather than staged. It's trendy without being cold, and the Inner Harbor location makes it that much more special. I know there is a huge renovation planned "down the harbor" , this Matriarch is ALREADY READY! You get all the energy of the waterfront with a cozy, tucked-in feel once you're inside. Now, the coffee. I got a latte that was genuinely one of the better cups I've had in a long time -- smooth, rich, perfectly pulled. I also had a Chai and paired it with a cherry & cheese danish that was fresh and delicious, the ideal complement to the drink. I asked for it heated and it was hot all the way through. Hate it when I get it and it is cold in the middle...the barista understood the assignment and got us right! Everything felt thoughtful, like someone in that kitchen actually cares about what they're putting out -- because they do. Speaking of which -- I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and it all made sense. Warm, passionate, and clearly proud of what they've built. Shirts, cups, napkins, and merch that says "I love my Matriarch" is a reminder of the "Why" behind this spot I think. That kind of energy flows through the entire space and staff. You feel it the moment you walk in. The Matriarch isn't just a coffee shop. It's a destination. If you're in Baltimore, this is a must. If you're outside the city -- make the drive. Trust me. See you soon, Matriarch!

We had the matcha latte, and a menu special: solar eclipse which was chai with expresso macadamia nut milk and lavender syrup. Matcha was good flavor and quality. The drink special I pass, I gave it a fair try but it didn't taste good- there was a very acidic taste at the end. My first time in was after calling to see if they had gift cards, went without an answer . So I went there and nope. Waisted my time going there.

It's a large space, with walls covered with art. There's around 52 seats at tables of mostly 4 and 2, with one for around 12. There was a 2-seat-table set up outside, and a bunch more available down the side of the restaurant that could be set up. We chose a table for the two of us, and server immediately offered us hot coffee in big steaming mugs. The menu, available online and by QR code, is huge! We ordered Veggie Scramble: 3-eggs lusciously full of mushrooms onions green peppers and tomatoes. They let us choose feta cheese! And the hash browns were epic! A mountain of creamy shredded potatoes, well-done to a crispy crunchy surface! And we got their Huevos Rancheros: open-faced 2-egg tacos, flavorful medium-spicy Mexican chorizo sausage and salsa verde under melted cheddar-cheese, over warm soft corn tortillas, with a side of those amazing hashbrown shredded potatoes. We got the eggs scrambled. Both breakfast servings were ample and delicious. Service was friendly, fast, and efficient. A few flaws: They have no espresso! Waah! The strong black coffee tasted a little bit bitter, maybe brewing for too long, but it was fine with milk and sugar. We each had two cups, which tells you the bottom-line :-). And, we made a point of choosing a two-person table, while one person waiting for a date was asked rather sternly by the manager to leave their only 12-person-table for a larger group. Makes sense, but it might have come-across a little too harshly. While I'm fussing, i didnt see any food photos on the QR menu. Sigh. We loved our generous breakfast and the whole friendly artsy atmosphere. Everyone, even the switched-table, seemed comfortable, with friendly chatter filling the high-ceilinged hall. Their sandwichboard sign out front says "Best Breakfast Ever!" Pretty darn close!

Friendly staff and fast service. You cannot reserve ahead but my boyfriend and I were seated immediately because they had a table which just opened for 2. I loved some of the artwork and every detail that they put into designing this place. Coffee: brewed nice and strong Stars of the food show: Sweet Baby Jesus: A burst of sweet and savory crab chunks sprinkled with old bay in every bite. The tomatoes were a refreshing break as your taste buds were recuperating from all of the savory melted cheese, hollandaise sauce, crispy hash browns, and delicious eggs. It's large enough to share but toooo good to want to share lol I thoroughly enjoyed this. Captain Crunch French Toast: This was the BEST French toast I've ever had. It's layers of goodness starting with fresh fruits on the top (blackberries, strawberries, and green apples). Next, fresh whipped cream. Then you move on to the perfectly crusted French toast and the captain crunch pieces sprinkled throughout the plate. I didn't need any syrup at all because it was sweet enough. But this was an amazing dish! My boyfriend and I did share this because it was shareable and we both wanted to indulge in it while enjoying our individual meals. I'm immediately planning our next visit to this place-definitely worth it.
