This horrible excuse of a cable company makes me long for the mediocre service of Cox. Good gravy--tried to sign up online to pay, but their website was down. When we called the customer service number someone answered but said she couldn't help us because it was after 5. Really!?! Why even answer then? Canceling service tomorrow. Also, channel selection is very limited compared to other companies. Somewhat decent Internet speed spares them from a one star review. I was never so happy to leave a utility company in my life. We have had orbital for the last 6 months for internet service. Orbital service has been down more than it's been up. In the last 2 weeks we have been down over 8 times. I so happily returned their modem today at their office. The customer service representative behind the counter had no response for me, as I explained why we were canceling service. She didn't offer any adjustments for all the times that they have been down. Their customer service is sub-par. Orbital's internet service plain out right needs to be looked at by the public utility commissioner. I highly recommend any other communications company other then Orbital. They say 24 hour service- they mean 24 hour answering service. Called in with problem on a Saturday morning, was told to wait for call back from technical support. Called back Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon, every time answering service operator seemed bewildered technical support hadn't called back. Finally on Monday morning I called into office during normal working hours and guess what, got hold of somebody who solved issue in like 2 minutes. Thought it was illegal to lure customers in with promises including 24 hour service, 7 days a week when clearly that service is not available. This is the worst internet provider I have ever had and unfortunately they have a monopoly over Maricopa. So if I want anything faster than DSL where I live, I can only use Orbitel. I am paying for 100 Mbps download and never get consistent speeds anywhere close to that. I build PC's and have sold IT for 20 years and I know my hardware is calibrated correctly. We always have problems with out Internet!!!! There website is down most of the time. Their customer service is basically non existent. We only have internet through them and we pay right at $100 /month and it's hardly works. We are constantly calling them. Finally my husband got tied of the issues and start handling it and having them credit our bill for the inconveniences of him calling and outside repair man . I am so angry with this company that I gave them one star & Only one star . I called them probably 15xs & they said there was no problem only that i needed to buy 100 gigs because 30 gigs was not enough now that I was that I was home schooling but I said it doesn't matter because we're not even getting the 30 gigs because no internet was working for almost a month / 2 weeks it wasn't working at all & 2 weeks spotty . so they come out a week & a half later & was told they would give me only a 1 1/2 discount on the 100 gig I just bought that I had to wait for them to come out for a service call but of course I NEVER EVER GOT & I called them 4 xs for & there was a piece broken in my front yard & they wouldn't give me credit for the 2 weeks we didn't have 30 gigs . So I am with Century Link and wanted to try Orbitel Communication- I even got a mailer with a number to call as a new customer. I called that number, the numbers on the website, and tried to chat - all to no avail of connecting to anyone who could sign me up! Every telephone number was for existing customers with key pad execution - not even pressing 0 would connect me to a live person. The mailer quoted "Trust the Orbitel Team to keep you connected". WHAT A JOKE. I wrote an email to the VP of Customer Service and Operations - I doubt I will hear anything back as it was a negative email and I am not a customer. I have no idea how you grow your customer base, but this is a red flag to stay away from this company. Better to have Century Link, who provides an actual 24/7 live person to speak, less quality service than NO Service At All. Good luck Orbitel with your growth plan read more

It's hard to give them even a single star their service is so bad. And the Maricopa customer service (separate of course from the corporate branch in the Phoenix-metro areas) is almost worse. There is one person working in their office, that when you listen to her talk to customers, you're like...seriously? If she were my employee, she'd be fired on the spot. We've had Direct TV since Saturday (it's now Tuesday) and we may never leave our house again! Life after Orbitel (or horrbitel)...is so amazingly fantastic--not one freeze up, no channel loss or words out of sink with mouths moving...I cannot even comprehend how Orbitel has stayed in business as long as they have. For the past month or more, every single program we watched got hung up multiple times during the showing, and it wasn't a "sun" related issue like they say. It happened in the morning, at night, etc. With Direct TV, we get WAY more channels for the money and the equipment is outstanding. Their Genie is about 1/3 the size of Orbitel's DVR, we can record and view from anywhere in the house, eliminating the need for separate DVR's in each room and only being able to watch in that room. If you're just moving here, DO NOT use Orbite, you will be sorry. I don't know much about Dish but I'm gonna guess they're right up there with Direct TV, choose one of these! read more

Maricopa basically has two internet providers (it is stretch to call either company a provider). Orbitel and Centurylink. When we first got to town almost 15 years ago we used orbitel, the service was mediocre, but stable. Once we had more than 5 homes in the block the internet became unusable and the cable was almost as bad. At that point in 2004 we switched to qwest (now Centurylink) and had very stable internet and DIRECTV for tv. About 5 years ago we dropped DIRECTV to save money and continued to use Centurylink. Then in June of last year Centurylink informed me that they are going to start enforcing their ridiculous 250 GB cap. We have 8 kids, seven of them attend school online and our Oldest is working on her PHD. In addition we use an over the top streaming service. Therefore a capakes the service worthless. So we switched back to Orbitel. When we called they promised things have been vastly improved and their service is second to none. The service was great for about 4 months and then the internet would go down for a hour or two during the week. It was usually late at night or very early in the morning, not a big deal. Then about February it started going down for about an hour around lunchtime, not great but not a game changer. Then about a month ago the internet would go out for a couple hours ever other day around lunchtime. I called numerous times and was assured that a tech would come out and make sure everything was ok. Was never notified if a tech came out or not but the issue seemed to go away. Then last Monday 6/19 the internet started going in and out every couple of minutes from 11:30am - 2:00pm, and then again from about 5:30pm - 7:30pm. I called on Wednesday and was told that the local office would send a tech out to fix the issue. Well the issue continued Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I called on Saturday and was told they were aware of the issue and a tech was working in it. Internet worked fine last night. Today 6/25, internet has been going up and down since 12:00pm, called them at 1:30pm, was told once again that the local Office will send a tech out. At this point I think we are going to switch back to Centurylink and pay the extra for the Business plan. My wife is going to start selling LuLaRoe online and will need the better upload speeds offered by Centurylink business. It is a shame that the government continues to allow Monopolies and no competition for internet and cable service. Stay away from Orbitel. You will thank me for the reduction in headaches and time wasted on the phone. read more

I've had this service for 2 years and ALWAYS have made arrangements in my account. Now in the middle of a pandemic they "are unable to". Why? Because you know I need the service for online work and school? So basically forcing me to beg,steal or borrow from someone to prevent shutoff? Our cable freezes up alot and the remote doesn't work right all the time. My husband set us up with Orbitel without knowing how awful the company is. I read reviews after the fact and I was worried because every single review was bad. I decided to give them a chance since we were already set up with them. I'm sorry I did because they are awful to work with! We set up service in October 2021 and we were not having any issues with our online banking payments then in May they start charging $10 late fees saying they're not getting their payments on time. I didn't even get our bill yet for June and now we're being charged late fees again! I think they are a dishonest company and they're making money charging their customers late fees! Beyond awful. Terrible, inconsistent internet that cuts out multiple times a day. Makes creating or using any kind of streaming media very frustrating. We've upgraded equipment. We've increased our data service plan. And we've had their service people out to the house to troubleshoot. They claim everything is fine. I must admit my idea of "fine" is not an internet service that cuts out three or four times a day. If you have any other choice for internet providers where you are ... choose the OTHER service ... We are snowbirds and over the last five years have had no problem with the Internet or television until now. Because of the antiquated recording device that they use we decided to upgrade to TiVo and have had it for about two weeks. Our Netflix does not work at all the Internet does not work nor does the second television in the bedroom. The main television works on a five minutes on and five minutes off schedule today is Sunday and on Monday the TiVo goes back we are in a gated community and are locked into orbital through our HOA I will be going back to the antiquated although they say upgraded now system and see if that's any better read more

Constant long outages, boxes that have never worked correctly, remote controls that don't work properly as well as nonsensical completely unhelpful customer service which reads scripts to you and then contradicts themselves having read the script. I work from home, so every morning I cringe wondering if my connection will be back up in time for me to start work. Thus far I've had to take over a week off due to these clowns. Treat this provider as you would the plague. My internet would randomly shut off for several hours on a weekly basis and gaming was near impossible with the lag. I tolerated this company for about a year. When I advised them that I most likely needed to replace the router that we had been renting from them, they told me "There don't seem to be any issues on our side. We can send someone out later this week to check on your router." It would have cost me $30 just to have them verify (or deny) the router needed to be replaced. I'm now using Century Link and have no issues. Paying less for better service. read more

The tech came out and solved the problem, but was using big tech words I didn't really understand and kept saying things that didn't make sense to me, it sort of made me feel stupid. When I did six hours later, the lady knew nothing about the outage and simply said, "IF there is a problem, they will try to fix it soon". Why not tweet status or put the status of their outage on a message when you call... anything to keep the customer informed. We already ran to Walmart to purchase a cellular hub to at least give us our email. Just keep the customer informed. read more

Service outages for internet and tv happen to frequently (6 to 12+ hours). Select Tv channels are always pixilated and field techs are nice but unable to resolve the problem (It's just that way!!!).Techsupport is useless. These people are not properly trained and have no clue when diagnosing issues other than unplug you modem & router! Techsupport and customer support never know the reason for outages and are unable to provide ETA on service restores. Techsupport has access to your account but is unable to provide credits for outages. Customer service refuses to provide credits. Office managers refuse to answer the phone and it takes an act of congress for them to return a call and the managers still refuse to provide credits for their company's outage issues. Managers are rude and will tell you they have no time to field your call for such trivial issues as credits for service outage as they have a policy to not provide credits!!!. WTF.. Your customers are the reason you all have job. You need to remember that! Customer service "NONE EXISTENT". Orbitel SUCKS!..switch internet providers and go with a streaming TV service! Absolutely terrible Internet and service. Unfortunately, we only have the choice of Century Link or Orbitel, I've only used Orbitel so far but I can tell you, you won't get the speeds you pay for. In my case, we pay for 50mbps download speeds and 2 mbps upload. You won't get these sustained speeds at all. Don't use speedtest.net as it uses an outdated Flash method, I highly recommend you use a site such as http://testmy.net or http://speedof.me as they give you real time, accurate results. read more

I have called numerous times with service issues they do not credit you bill for any outages. They hang up on you when you call happened to me 3 times now. I have experience a price hike on my cable and internet without being notified. My bill went from $80 a month to $94.26 without my notice. Three channels changed without giving notice, when I called about these issues, the rep told me about the changes like I was suppose to already have known that they had $2.00 + price hike on all of their service. She even told me that CNN1 and CNN2 channels have change and that she was pretty sure that I don't watch them channels. I have walked into their location here in Maricopa, AZ and most of them were dressed like they relaxing around the house. All I can say is pure ghetto. read more

The only reason they get one star is because my TV actually turns on and gets a picture. That's the only good thing I can say about this company. The freezing up of the pictures is CONSTANT and annoying. You have to turn the tv on and off several times during a half hour show. When you talk to customer service (or more aptly called "lack of customer service")they always try to pass the buck and say the problem isn't with them but it's with my TV. Really????What are the odds that I have the SAME TV as the 40 other people who have complained of this??? Plus, they cut off every other commercial on TV and insert their own! In an hour you will see 10 Orbitel commercials! They deny responsibility for EVERYTHING, their service people who come out are lazy and apathetic, and when you inquire about a better or less expensive plan they always tell you that you already have the best deal, yet you always see better rates advertised. I honestly don't know where to start... I've traveled all over, I've had various internet providers throughout the last few years and Orbitel is undoubtedly the worst I've had - not only in performance but in customer service (which is scamming their customers). The internet is severely unstable; wind, rain, cold temperatures, all various types of climates have been used by customer service as an excuse for the poor service. It's constantly dropping connection and actual quality of the service is not sufficient. Whenever you call technical support, they'll ask for a speed test and as long as the speeds are within the levels of your package, they believe it is acceptable - they don't take into consideration latency and the fact that despite having up/down speeds within your plan, they're redundant when you have high latency. I've had technicians out to my home countless times for service and they've all been unsuccessful at diagnosing a problem. Typically, the current perpetuating cycle is "maybe it's your existing modem and router" which I have changed out several times and spent hundreds of dollars on replacing. Despite all of my equipment changes, I still experience severe connection interruptions throughout the day; connection drops, high latency. I've had one honest technician service my home which he explained that the lines Orbitel use for internet are extremely old; 30 or more years old, which is why connection is so unreliable and inconsistent. Afterwards, I questioned Orbitel customer service and they would not comment on the age of the lines which are used to service the Maricopa area. Speaking of customer service, what a joke. They're extremely rude and unprofessional, they're trying to squeeze as much money out of consumers as possible, which I understand as they're a business, but they're scamming customers (actually scamming). When I first moved into my home, I had a family member set up services so that once I moved in, everything would be ready. Said family member signed me up for internet and high-definition tv. On my statement, I was being charged for "high-definition" tv... Shortly after moving in, a Dish tv sales person approached me and convinced me to swap services, which I did. I purchased their high-definition package and I immediately noticed a difference. I couldn't believe the difference... It was astonishing, to which, while the installer and sales person was in my home, I asked "I don't even think I had high-definition with Orbitel?" which both the installer and sales person confirmed my suspicion... The next day I called Orbitel to complain that I had been spending $60 additional on television for high-definition. The Orbitel customer service representative told me that they didn't have high-definition television, despite me paying for it for over a month and it being printed on my bill as "HD TV". I was furious with the service representative as she was telling me that they didn't offer high-definition and insisting that I was lying about what was printed on my bill. I insisted that I send a copy of my bill to said customer representative and she declined. I then offered to drive to the office and present a copy of my bill which she then hung-up on me. It's unfortunate that Orbitel is the one out of two service providers that service my area. Centurylink services my area, which I did have for a brief period of time, but they could not offer me internet speeds that Orbitel does. I've had discussions with many consumers of Orbitel and they all have similar experiences. I was informed by one consumer that Orbitel services predominately retirement complexes which is why they take advantage of their consumers. I have not discussed this theory with anyone within said retirement suburbs, however I feel that narrative supports the service and experience that I've encountered with the company. If you have the option of using another service provider in your area, I strongly suggest you avoid using Orbitel services. They are scammers, they provide less than mediocre services, they are rude, they are unprofessional, and they are inexperienced in the technical field. read more

Very similar service as the others have noted. We had a billing issue and I left a message for a manager "who was not available" as the others have noted. No reason not to return a customers call. We are seasonal customers and over half the time we ask and pay to turn on our services they are not done, then wait 3 to 7 days for them to do this. No idea how they can still be in business, the tie in with the homeowners associations is the only thread they have left. I am no fan of directv or centuryink in any way but believe it or not they are better than Orbitel. The only way to get better service is to move on to another competitor, Orbitel will slowly die and go away when the homeowners groups don't pay them anymore. read more
