Every 6-10 months I have to call Orbital and complain about my slow speed of service (although I pay for the highest speed). It seems weird that when I call and complain, somehow my service improves?!! I have been having super slow issues over the last 2 months so finally called them for service. They admitted my internet showed times when it was down and sent someone out for service. When the tech arrived he said the cable was loose which was NOT true as I had reviewed each and every connection and everything was tight. When I told the tech that when typing the internet could not keep up as I typed words he told me it was a fault of my computer (Apple 2022 MacBook Air). REALLY! I also told him the TV kept spiraling and stopped at times but he had no comments about that issue. He tried to suggest it was my router but I replaced it 2 months ago with state of the art technology. He then said maybe it was a modem issue but would not check the modem to see if it was problematic. I am extremely unhappy with the service provided by Orbital and although I do not want to switch carriers I feel I no longer have a choice. Cox has recently moved into our area do I suppose I will switch to them. read more

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. Though as for me, Orbitel has provided me with very good customer service, they actually answer the phone when I call, the installer was efficient and so far a great experience. I had COX previously, but when I recently moved to Sun Lakes it took them 3 days to figure out whether I would have service to the new address or not. So I called Orbitel and in less than 48 hours my new 1 gig internet connection is up and running. And it's $50 cheaper than I was paying COX. read more

Internet service was fine until Orbitel increased the speed for free. Service started becoming intermittent and then was gone. Seven days without internet access. A service visit did not solve the problem. No internet, no service, for $93/month. Great business plan! read more

The top brass hide behind their phones. I've been waiting for a $30-50 credit on my account for about 4 months. One thing they do excel in is Customer DIS-service, and use of the word "no." We can't wait for a provider to enter Maricopa City with fibre optic. read more

Terrible service. I am paying for 150 Mps, but only getting 30 to 35. I get multiple internet interruptions daily while streaming video. I can't wait for another provider to enter our community, (Sun Lakes). Currently Orbitel is the ONLY provider due to terrible contract with our HOA. At one time it sounded like Cox was going to offer service in the community, but that has not happened as of yet. In speaking to customer support the showed that the system lost connection to our home 44 times in the last 24 hours. read more

I've had Orbitel internet for 9 years. I have had some connectivity issues through the years, but every company has their problems. Tonight I was unable to connect to the internet. I only had to wait a very brief time to get a technician on the phone. She was wonderful. In fact, through all these years, I have NEVER had a bad experience with any of the Sun Lakes office staff, nor the technicians I've spoken with on off hours. Everyone is stressed now with COVID and I sincerely appreciate all those who are working to help others (and obviously pay their bills) while maintaining a positive attitude and demonstrating professional and technical abilities. Absolutely awful. Would give negative stars if possible. Service cuts out all the time. They are the reason utilities of any kind should not have a monopoly in an area. Wish there was a non-satellite option for internet in our area other than them. If you have a choice for internet go with any other company. read more

I Live in Sun Lakes Az and have to use Orbitel. There was only one glitch where I had some digital drop out for about two weeks. And after that it's been pretty good. I've had them for almost a year now and I have to say I'm quite impressed with the quality of the signal for TV and Internet read more

I really want to increase my over-priced 30 mb service, but I hate to throw good money toward really bad service. Make sure you check for an orbital truck on the street. Orbitel sucks MISERABLY. They sent some clown out to install a modem at my Mom's house up the street..they guy complained the entire time about how "the head office didn't tell him what needed to be done" etc.....they provide HORRIBLE service to nearly everyone in Maricopa. We are foolishly contracted with them via our silly HOA.....so we are stuck with paying them each month. I believe the KNEW the only way they could get clients was to get signed onto the contract with the HOA when it was first set up, otherwise, NO one would use them!!! This was one of those "service" experiences for which I felt compelled to go to Yelp and leave a review. Orbitel has clearly subcontracted their technical support services. Four or five years ago, I could call their number and speak to a person who, even if a bit condescending, knew approximately where my router configuration was located and what was going on in their data center in general. This kind of understanding leads to better customer service. Then came yesterday. I changed service type so the technician came right out. He was friendly. After reconnecting my two TVs and phone, I said I would do my laptop. Having worked in technology for decades, one inalienable truth is that consistent protocols are critical for technical support success. Of course, theirs were wildly inconsistent, which meant I couldn't troubleshoot the problem myself. First call, he talked and talked, said he would create a ticket, and didn't even think to explain anything about the ticket. Like, "Why are you creating a ticket?" I had to ask him. Then when, of course, nobody called back, I called their main tech support number. She knew even less but directed me to a number that ended up being one of those screaming commercials for whatever. I think on purpose but maybe not. My final call was to an extremely condescending "supervisor," who also read line-by-line from their playbook. Unbelievably bad. I'm considering switching to Century Link just because of this one experience. read more

The worst provider in the valley! It's overpriced and their customer service and management team are the worst! Been trying to resolve a credit that's owed to me for the past 6 months and I keep on getting the run around. Was told a manager will call me back and that never happened. Excuses after excuses! With quarintine everyone seems to be working at home I live in Maricopa and we can only use Orbitel, whether our internet cuts out for days or just for a couple of hours but its terrible we have to use our mobile hotspots for basically everything. read more

Been with Dish Network for 12 years, decided to switch cause I was already paying for Orbitel in my association fee and found I can save 100 bucks a month. They came out last Thursday, set .e up with HAD packahe, DVR and internet service, so all was good for one day, Friday night I had no service on all my TVs upstairs and half service downstairs, I called the local office Saturday morning, she literally told me I was out of luck and had to wait until Monday for a service tech to come to my house. Very dissatisfied with that kind of service. Also when they came out they didn't have a signal booster with then to complete or ad the last TV. So they have to come back out next week for that too. read more

Our HOA has the cable service, which we cannot opt out of, so we gave Orbitel a try for internet service. Over the last 3 years, we have had spotty service, and the price increases every year with no better service. We subscribe to the 3Mbps service and get charged $34.95. Really slow by todays standard, and a real rip off for the service. Reliability is also a problem, at times off for 3 - 12 hours, with no warning, mostly we are told it's the equipment at the street. We are shopping other choices now, and as soon as we can we will leave Orbitel. read more

I have been a loyal Orbitel customer for almost 4 years. They have always provided great products and very good service. That is until recently. I received my February bill to find out it went up $35 without notice. To rich for my blood. So I called them up to see what could be done. I was told that because I already have both TV and Internet, there are no promotions available to me. I was very disappointed that nothing could be done to reduce my bill without reducing my service. I took a couple of weeks looking for alternative solutions. I found something that would work for my TV so I called to cancel that and just keep the internet. The rep that answered told me that although they don't have any TV promotions I can get a promotional price on my internet that would reduce my bill by $20 a month. I asked the rep why my TV bill was so high when I only have basic and extended with one box. She said that I have a sports package for $8.95 a month. I said I never ordered that (I don't watch sports of any kind) she didn't answer my question. Dead silence. I said that someone slipped that on there without my permission because I would never order that. Again no reply. I then said take it off immediately and tell me my monthly total. She asked me to hold on. She left me on hold for over 12 minutes. I thought she had disconnected me! Then she returns to tell me that I have to increase my internet speed to get the promo and that would increase the bill by $10. At that point I had been in the phone for almost 30 minutes. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was put on hold for another 6 minutes. A new voice came on the phone and kept calling me "mam" when my voice is clearly male. I'm a 56 year old man. Even after I told her this she continued to call me "mam". Now we are going on 40 minutes. I asked her are you a supervisor? He reply was NO there isn't one here. I was so frustrated angry and disgusted that I said goodbye as hung up. I called back 15 minutes later and got another rep. I simply asked to have a supervisor call me the next day. The rep insisted on trying to help me. I told her everything that had transpired and she replied. Well I can't do anything about that you need to speak to a supervisor. I almost popped my cork! I said yes that's why I want one to call me tomorrow. Charlotte called the next day and left a message stating that she had listened to the call and that there was no excuse for what I experienced and that they would train the two employees involved. On Monday I received my next bill and it had gone up yet another $33 now one dollar shy of $200 when it was $137 two months earlier. I called Charlotte today at 3pm she was not available the rep said she will have Charlotte call me when she finished up with the customer she was with. An hour and 20 minutes passed. I called again and this time got the same rep that started all of this trouble to begin with. I requested to speak to Charlotte and was instantly told she wasn't available. I asked to have her call me back TODAY that I had already called at 3 the rep insisted on verifying ALL of my information and then said thank you and disconnected the call. I waited patiently knowing that the supervisor leaves at 5pm. I received no call. This was the last straw. My only option seems to be social media to get my experience heard so that maybe someone who still wants to offer a decent customer experience sees this. This post will be duplicated on every social media outlet that I can find! To whom it may concern (hopefully a manager), First I want to just say how completely disappointed I am in the customer service in your office. I have been having internet issues with you guys off and on probably for the last year if not more. I have to reset my modem at least every few days sometimes more than that. Recently, that is not even working, now most times according to the tech support my modem is completely going offline. Each time I have called, whether to talk to afterhours tech support or the office personal (Monday through Friday 8-5) I am treated horribly, almost never even get an apology for the service issues that I am having and lately not even a resolution. I have been a customer of orbitel for six years next month and have always paid my bill, currently I pay almost $80 a month, just for the internet as I was told paying for the higher speed would prevent these issues, which it hasn't. I don't even think we have gotten more than a few weeks of the actual "high speed" service. From the speed test on your website or the one that your tech support sent me to before you guys had the speed test on your website showed we usually got below 15 Mbs and usually less than 10! So this brings me to the current issue, as I mentioned earlier the modem is now just going offline. So we had a service tech come out on Thursday, Jerry, he was amazing, very personable, claimed to have fixed the issue so this complaint has nothing to do with him. The issue was fixed for MAYBE 24 hours, come Friday we were back to slow speeds and having to reset the modem constantly and eventually it just went offline again and after hours tech support said there was nothing they could do. It did manage to come back online last night (Sunday 3/6). I receive a call this morning from your office staff, the woman was HORRENDOUS in regards to her customer service and attitude! First, she stated I see you were having some issues with your internet, is it now working? I said yes it is, and she said okay thanks and was about to hang up! I instantly said wait, and explained the ongoing issues mentioned earlier, not once did she say I am sorry you are having so many issues. When I asked her to explain what expectations you all are given in regards to customer service because I felt completely unappreciated as a customer and that I felt an apology was the least that could happen she stated "If you NEED me to say I am sorry, I can say I am sorry". This statement was completely unprofessional and rude! I of course asked to speak to a manager and she told me that I cannot speak to a manager I have to have my complaint in writing via email, which is what brought me here. I even asked if I could come in and speak to a manager and she once again told me no I cannot. Then she told me the soonest someone could come out to fix my internet would be Thursday afternoon! I take online classes for my master's degree and I cannot be without internet that long, as it is I had to use my mobile hotspot and go to a friend's house to do my homework all weekend, this is not really a great option as I have 5 children, one of which is disabled and I can't take them to other people's houses to do my homework! I also work Monday through Friday 7-4 in Phoenix so the time I had you guys come out I have to leave work early which is a financial hardship in itself. I honestly doubt that you guys will do anything about the awful treatment I have received but hopefully me telling you this will encourage you to give some much needed training to your staff in how to treat the customers that help keep your company in business and paychecks coming to them. I understand technology is not perfect and things break or malfunction, an apology can go a long way. read more

Customer service is non existent - they wont answer the phone. If you are lucky enough to get through to someone they make promises that they do not keep. My service was out for two days, of course the outage started on a weekend so no one available to fix the problem. Customer service rep agreed to give me a credit for lost service on the next bill, didn't happen. Now listening to their crappy music and their message about how important my business is while waiting for another promise of credit. If I had an option of a different ISP with decent speed I would dump orbitel and be first in line to sign with the new guys. Also, speed drops significantly during "peak" times, still better than Centuylinks1.5mbs, but not the 15mps advertised. read more

Having been a new arrival in the area, and having numerous issues (mainly outages and down times) and now not being to retrieve their web sight easily , I express concerns about the lack of quality this company provides.....Ever try to reach their "tech service" on weekends ? I understand that all it is, is an answering service in, I believe, North or South Carolina whose employees run trough a script and then write up a service order which is forwarded to the office in Sun Lakes which is CLOSED until the work week days only....unbelievable in this day and ag. read more

Don't waste your time or money with this awful company. Paying $160-something month for internet, phone & TV and it has been a nightmare since we started service with them. TV picture tiles on nearly every station and the rest of the stations say: One Moment Please but they have never worked. Their system works like this: you call and are put on hold for 40 min. Then you talk someone who is at a call center in another state who knows nothing. They give you a work order number, which serves no purpose except to make you believe that they are going to help you. Someone is supposed to call you the next day but that has never happened. You call them back, get put on hold for another half hour or more (not exaggerating). They send out a tech a week or so later. Tech shows up, knows absolutely nothing, says: they are having a problem in your area and leaves. We have been told this lie since last June. And then the process starts over the next week. We have talked to about 10 or more people at Orbitel since Nov. 10. Today my husband was put on hold for over 40 minutes. I drove to the Orbitel office in Chandler early this afternoon in an attempt to talk to someone in person. No sign on the door, they were just closed. What a rip-off. Had to give them one star but they deserve zero. read more
