We ended up going to the Verizon by the chandler mall and they helped us right away and got us set up on two new phones - go there instead!

From my first visit to a Verizon wireless store to transfer my family's phone lines from T Mobile to the new carrier things were wrong. I was told my mother could get her number activated remotely only to find out they disconnected her T Mobile line without starting the Verizon one, and were shipping me a SIM card instead. This was a problem because until her retirement, she worked as an educator in a high-crime area of Glendale. The same thing happened to my fiancée; who thankfully worked from home and was largely unaffected by this snafu. When I went into the corporate Verizon store I was once again lied to by an agent named Jonathan, who told me he would be able to activate the lines over the phone after the SIM cards arrived. I waited, and when the SIM cards arrived I called Jonathan only to learn that I would have to go into the store anyway. After taking time off work to get this done it was finally achieved, a week after it should have been resolved. Unfortunately, the promises Jonathan made to me regarding the discounts and waived activation fees for the lines were just as empty as the rest of the words I've received from Verizon agents. I had to pay an $800 bill just to get my family plan started. Six months later I made the mistake of calling my local Verizon Wireless store to attempt a surprise phone upgrade for my fiancée. The agents I spoke on the phone with, Renzo and Jah, both told me that my local store had the specific iPhone she wanted in stock and would be able to upgrade her phone today. I took time off work and we made a morning of it, but when we arrived at the store they not only did not have the iPhone in stock, it isn't in stock anywhere in the phoenix valley! I spoke with a corporate customer care representative and they confirmed that model is on a 10-day back order, and is not available in Phoenix. This company is inherently dishonest and I would not recommend them even as a last ditch option. If there is a better option for cell service in the city Maricopa please reach out to me. Verizon's best competitor has a family plan waiting for them. If you are on the fence about starting a plan with this company and have another option, I would think again.

Their rates are less than satellite internet, but functional use not reliable for me. This is being done via my cell phone since my landline phone and dsl were snapped by an oilfield semi about a week ago. Windstream's automated phone system assured completion of repairs by today at 5 pm. At least windstream was good enough to call this afternoon to let me know they won't make it today. Good service?

The phones will almost always work, but there will be so much scratchy-crackling interference and background noise you will think that there must be a natural disaster happening on the other end of the call. For goodness sakes don't think that you will be able to email them or use chat to get anything accomplished because it absolutely will not. Most of the customer service people will try to help you when you do call, and they will mostly be polite, but don't expect that they will solve your problem. Don't bother calling to tell them that your internet speed is so slow that you can't even send an email that you need to send for work. Do expect to bookmark speedof.me and other similar speed tests because when you call customer service they will have you check one of them to confirm how slow your speed actually is. Do expect speeds averaging around 1 Mbps (and as low as 0.02 Mbps) even though you pay for 10 Mbps. Do expect to hear the phrase, "I'm not sure why but I can schedule a technician to be there in 2-3 days." Do expect to pay a premium price for all this.

The steps to activate Cox Mobile were easy enough but my phone wasn't activating. We hustled over to this location and the friendly, knowledgeable, downright GREAT Bianca and Matt figured everything out and got me connected. I rely heavily on my phone for my job and they really came through and close to closing time too. Just a million thank yous! You really took a stressful situation after a long day and turned it around. Thanks SO much!!!!!!

I visited a Cox Cable store because I was experiencing internet interference at home and decided to…read moreswap out my modem as per security professionals. During the exchange, I was given an open-box modem that was not sealed at all. At the time, I didn't think much of it and accepted it. After doing additional research, I became very concerned. Modems contain sensitive information serial numbers, admin usernames, and passwords. While customers are advised to change credentials, anyone with prior access to the device can still view or record this information. Having worked in a call center myself, I know how much data is easily accessible to employees. When I returned to the store to address my concerns, the associate I initially worked with was in the back, and another employee assisted me. I asked whether it was normal procedure to provide customers with unsealed, open-box modems. I was told this happens when employees check the box to ensure all equipment is inside. My concern is simple: why is this not done in front of the customer? That alone would greatly reduce the security risk. The employee I spoke with even admitted he had never considered the security implications of opening boxes out of sight, which is alarming. Customers have no way of knowing whether device information was copied or misused prior to receiving the modem. While I am not accusing any employee of wrongdoing, security protocols should not rely on trust alone. This is a systemic issue, not a personal one. I was told I could exchange the modem again, but that it would likely also be an open box or that I could buy my own equipment or go elsewhere. That completely misses the point. The issue is Cox's handling of customer hardware and data security. Management needs to address this immediately. Modems and routers should be sealed and opened in front of the customer, period. In today's world, this level of lax security is unacceptable. This is not about being difficult or "being a Karen." It's about protecting customer data and preventing avoidable risks. I love Cox and the services offered but security is huge! . Again the reps in this store all deserve raises and a year off with pay, as this has nothing to do with them doing their jobs. My stars are based on security concerns and not the employees. Thanks guys
