When I first mentioned I was changing carriers from T Mobile to Verizon I was warned about the severe drop off in the quality of service I would receive. I should have listened. From my first visit to a Verizon wireless store to transfer my family's phone lines from T Mobile to the new carrier things were wrong. I was told my mother could get her number activated remotely only to find out they disconnected her T Mobile line without starting the Verizon one, and were shipping me a SIM card instead. This was a problem because until her retirement, she worked as an educator in a high-crime area of Glendale. The same thing happened to my fiancée; who thankfully worked from home and was largely unaffected by this snafu. When I went into the corporate Verizon store I was once again lied to by an agent named Jonathan, who told me he would be able to activate the lines over the phone after the SIM cards arrived. I waited, and when the SIM cards arrived I called Jonathan only to learn that I would have to go into the store anyway. After taking time off work to get this done it was finally achieved, a week after it should have been resolved. Unfortunately, the promises Jonathan made to me regarding the discounts and waived activation fees for the lines were just as empty as the rest of the words I've received from Verizon agents. I had to pay an $800 bill just to get my family plan started. Six months later I made the mistake of calling my local Verizon Wireless store to attempt a surprise phone upgrade for my fiancée. The agents I spoke on the phone with, Renzo and Jah, both told me that my local store had the specific iPhone she wanted in stock and would be able to upgrade her phone today. I took time off work and we made a morning of it, but when we arrived at the store they not only did not have the iPhone in stock, it isn't in stock anywhere in the phoenix valley! I spoke with a corporate customer care representative and they confirmed that model is on a 10-day back order, and is not available in Phoenix. This company is inherently dishonest and I would not recommend them even as a last ditch option. If there is a better option for cell service in the city Maricopa please reach out to me. Verizon's best competitor has a family plan waiting for them. If you are on the fence about starting a plan with this company and have another option, I would think again. read more

I've never had issues pairing my phone to my car. Her reply: obviously that's not Verizon's issue. Maybe lead off with: I'm sorry to hear that. Her blank expression speaks volumes. Regarding my bill: oh your discounts won't show up until the second billing cycle. Interesting. I wasn't told that last week. Not sure if I can stay with Verizon. I will try reaching out to their online customer service for better answers. If discounts don't show up with the first billing cycle, why did my nursing discount show up? I was hoping to sit down with a professional person to go over the line items so I could understand. She is definitely NOT that person. Just to update I was on the phone with technical support 1/5 and Andy re-activated the line from his end "hoping" this will resolve my issue. Well it's 1/7 and again I am unable to make a call or receive one. How's that escalation going? Verizon needs to empower their employees to reverse transactions that were made due to a lack of training. They seem powerless to support customers in the store and via phone. Once a phone or mobile hotspot is purchased, and you miss their 30 day return window, you are out of luck. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of empathy and willingness to understand a customer's situation in full. This store ROCKS! The manager and Jade were so helpful. Jade walked us through setting up our service back to our old iPhones and watches. He was professional, friendly and super patient. We were there for at least three hours trying to port back our phone numbers from AT&T since the lying a holes from AT&T sold us BS about our supposed monthly savings and unlimited "use a terabyte if you want" hotspot and phone service if we switched to AT&T. We've been with Verizon for over 10 years. We work on the road so the hotspot service on our Inseego is crucial for work. Be warned if you see an AT&T sales person in a Target (especially Tempe AZ) promising services that sound too good to be true, THEY ARE! Run!!! Thanks you so very much Jade!!! read more

WARNING!!! THIS IS A VERY LONG RANT ABOUT VERIZON I feel like #Verizon is the worst cellular company that I have ever delt with. Their associates where polite and seemed to be lost trying to help me. Mostly it seemed like the companies policies/practices made that difficult. Exhibit a: I purchased a phone from them around October when I was in Massachusetts. The sales rep talked it up and said that the phone would cost me around $500. This would save me $300! I was stoked. Till the phone (#GooglePixel3) glitched a few months later and needed to be replaced by the insurance I have on it, or the warranty.... Or so I thought. The option for a replacement is a used/refurbished/whatever not new phone. Feeling upset about this I asked about upgrading instead. I am not eligible for an upgrade for over a year. So I asked to pay the phone off and get a new one. Come to find out the discount on the phone is per billing cycle.... So if I pay it off early I lose the discount on it..... so now I feel bamboozled.... Exhibit b: After refusing to deal with those options. I decided to just keep the phone till it is paid off and deal with the glitch till the end of my agreement with #verizonwireless . Then the glitches started to affect the functionality of the phone. I decided to get a replacement at least till I can terminate all my dealings with this company. Well the first phone call with customer service lasted almost 2 hours. The call ended with the representative not being able to order me a new phone for my area. She told me that she would check some things and get back to me a few days later (May 30th) and even send me #Google s number if she couldn't resolve the issue. I received Google's number minutes after hanging up and never was contacted by Verizon afterward. Exhibit c: It is over 3 days passed when Verizon supposedly would have contacted me. I have called three times and been put on hold, which turned out to be hung up on, and once the representative couldn't hear me for some unexplained reason. I still couldn't get a phone ordered and after explaining that the phone calls "drop" when I am put on hold, this guy still "put me on hold" which sent me to a message asking me to enter my number.... I was hung up on I guess...... The representative said he'd call me back when the issue was resolved if we were disconnected... I have yet to get a phone call back...... Let's give him some time and see if he does. Hold on y'all their might be a part 2 of this rant... If you've gotten this far.... Thanks for reading my rant... Go somewhere else or buy online! I originally came in after receiving a promotional email offering top dollar for trade-ins. I came in December 13th and purchased two iPads as Christmas presents for my children. When I asked about the trade-in credit, the salesman said to bring them in within 30 days. I specifically asked if broken screens were accepted to which he responded "that's no problem as long as they work." After setting up the iPads and transferring the data, I took the old iPads in and the same salesman says "these are shattered. They won't give you any credit." I'm considering leaving Verizon as a whole because they did not keep their end of the bargain. I knew the iPad screens were broken before I bought new ones. That is why I asked. Had I been told from the beginning that broken screens disqualified the device for credit then all would be good. I've made the mistake before and went through a Verizon authorized retailer because this is the type of stuff you encounter there. Not at the actual Verizon store. Next time practice some honesty. Trying to reach customer service is like trying to fly to Pluto. I was on hold for 51 minutes - the rep comes back on the line and hangs up the call! I had the worst customer service experience today. I was looking to buy a new phone and watch. The employee that first greeted us was there was so rude from the beginning. I asked him about the new iPhone 15 and he was short and then explained he couldn't help get me a new phone. Then I asked about watches again, and he could not help me again. As I was in there, the other two employees were sitting and working with other customers. This guy continued to tell me he couldn't help. I asked if I could try a watch on to see how big it would be and he said no. Literally, I finally had enough and told him I would order my stuff online and left. The best part is I went home and ordered everything I wanted. Honestly, he is a pointless employee turning people away from the store who are willing to spend 2000.00 dollars. For someone who is so rude and terrible at customer service and clearly doesn't value Verizon's customer service standards, he could probably use a shower to get the dandruff out of his hair and some anti fungal cream for his fingernails before he treats customers like shit. read more

If you enjoy being cheated, just show up here and trust what the employees tell you. It's that simple, sales people and customer service will say anything to get your money and get out of the conservation. Ok, now that you heard my complaining, read on if you're actually interested to know the case. I decided to get a Moto Z Droid, mainly because Verizon was offering them at half price. I actually didn't want to be on a payment plan for the hardware as I needed to be able to change my service in the future. Thus, I wanted to pay off the device, I was told this isn't a problem; I would just need to call in a couple months and pay it 100% off to close the transaction. I then needed to change carriers, so I went ahead and called again to confirm how this payment payoff would work. I was assured that I would be charged the remaining ~$247 against the initial price of $312. This matched my expectation since, of course, one still must pay out their phone and this represents the full remaining balance. Last step, cancel my service...to my shock, I'm charged double. So, after multiple confirmations from different company reps, I'm scammed out of $247. I'm open to suggestions on how to combat fraud in this way, let me know if you have any ideas. One last note, I really am convinced that no person I spoke to actually knew how the billing would work. It's not the employee's fault when then tell the story the company scripts, but then Verizon doesn't follow through. Telling me this isn't a contract on my line when the contract on the phone turns out to be line dependant, is just plain fraud. Especially when asked and answered so directly. read more

So I came in to the store to evaluate my options since my contract was up. I hate this hip Apple-store-rip-off where the music is pumping and you need 3000 square feet for 15 products. You always have to wait too. Not a little, but quite a bit.. so when they finally get to you, you are invested in the motion of purchasing since you have spent time here looking at 200 silicon cases for iPhones.. only iPhones. So this slick walks up in his neon sneakers, flat bill hat and think he is super fly even though he is the one working on a Saturday. He is trying to promote Verizon so hard that he is shooting off buzz words like Verizon 4G Chip set - even though I can tell he does not know what a chip set is, nor could he explain what the difference between 3G and 4G is. I know what it is, and I don't expect that this clerk should have the technical insight to explain it, but then he probably shouldn't use the terminology that comes from the brochure that he doesn't understand. As much as I hate employees that act like they are better than their customers, even though they are working in their gym clothes - I might have been able to let this slide if it wasn't for his save of telling me I should switch plan, something I really didn't want to do, by offering me a promotion that they don't have anymore. This might look like a mistake, a mere oversight.. but this is his whole job! Push customers to get the features that creates revenue. No Verizon, it was certainly not a pleasure doing business with you - and I would have switched operators by now, if it wasn't for the coverage. Since I have to put up with this crap, can we at least focus on the service then? Recently visited this location for a simple phone upgrade. Let's see, where should I start... 1. From doing my research before the in store visit, I was pretty sure which phone I wanted. After telling the representative who 'assisted' us what I was looking for he insisted that I buy the phone at Best Buy because they were giving away free TV'S with purchase. I didn't want a tv, nor was that the purpose of my visit. I needed a phone and as a consumer, I chose to give my business to YOU (Verizon) as I thought that was the obvious choice. I appreciate the heads up on the deals their competitors were offering, but please just sell me a phone... 2. The phone I wanted wasn't available. The sales rep didn't offer to check the availability at some of their other stores but AGAIN suggested that I go to Best Buy... I settled for another phone which was ALSO 'not available' currently in house. He told me however that he could order it and it would be shipped to my house in 2 business days and that I could come back and have them set uo the new phone and switch over all my info. 3. 10 days later... my phone arrives. I head back to the store to trade in my old phone and get my new one set up. After waiting for 40 minutes for a representative to be assigned to me... the rep (at the same store) tells me that not only can she not transfer my data (which I have had done previously at this location) but that I was not an authorized user on the account ( which would have been good to know when we bought the phone our first visit. The rep during this visit didn't offer any solutions just told me she couldn't help me an let me walk out the front door. We call into Verizon and my husband has me added as an authorized user in just seconds. They set up my new phone over the phone and advise that all my data CAN be transferred on the cloud. They apologized for the poor service during my in store visit and referred us to the GO Wireless retailer a mile away. The GO Wireless retailer not only switched over all my data (which somehow this Verizon store couldn't do) but they gave me a tutorial on my new phone and helped me find some accessories to go with. They told me that even if they didn't have the accessories in house, they work with other stores in the valley to get their customers what it is they want. In summary: You are a phone store... please do yourself a favor and keep retail in house. I understand I could have purchased the phone off their website, but I went to the store and waited in your lines to get the full customer experience and I can confirm that it was AWFUL. Don't be surprised when your joke of a store closes its doors and you lose your jobs to online retailers. And a lesson to your sales reps... Understand your products, know AHEAD of time what kind of inventory you have in house, and if a customer comes in looking to spend money, do yourself a favor an make a sale. IT'S YOUR JOB! I appreciate the heads up about Best Buy but please just sell me a phone! Lastly, I'm not sure if I chalk this experience up to the lack of product/service knowledge on behalf of your employees or complete laziness but all I can say is... YOU CAN DO BETTER.... read more

It's iPhone launch day and I was expecting to see hoards of people. Think Black Friday hoards. However, I was pleasantly surprised when there were only about five people ahead of me. This review is a bit difficult because I had dealt with a couple of people, but here we go. I personally dealt with Ryan, who was super helpful and took his time explaining my new phone, helping me get all set up, and wasn't pushy at all. The process of upgrading my phone was so incredibly smooth that I was really satisfied with the customer service and how easy it was to upgrade on a new phone launch day. Ryan is a gem. Kathleen, on the other hand, maybe should have had a few more hours of sleep. I totally understand how stressful an event like this could be, but I don't think that should reflect in how you treat your customers. I overheard as she was working with my roommate and...yikes. So salty. When I was finished up with my phone, I walked over to wait for my roommate as she called her dad to get it all squared away. Kathleen says, "I don't want to be rude, but we have a line forming outside so you either need to proceed or come back later." Okay, salty, hold your horses. We finally got all of my roommate's stuff going, she got her phone, but Kathleen didn't explain anything the way that Ryan had done with me. I got the vibes that she was trying to rush us out. I should have read the reviews on Yelp before going in and not just the ones on Google. If you want to be insulted by retail employees who think they are better than you and walk out more angry than when you walked in, then go through the doors to this building. I have been with Verizon since June 2007, over 10 years. I have never missed a payment and until now, never had a bad experience with their customer service online, on the phone, or in any store. Until today. This is long.. brace yourselves. My LG G5 shut off by itself last night and won't turn back on. According to customer service, this is a known issue - refurbished phone on the way .. sent to my home when I asked them to send it to my work since I work on the other side of town and need the phone ASAP. So, that's issue 1. Next.. there was a weird purchase showing on my account. Come to find out after 2 calls to Verizon that there was a fraudulent purchase on my account on 7/27 and no one from Verizon thought to contact me and tell me so I could change my PIN and re-secure my account. The fact that someone could purchase a phone on my account without my Pin to begin with leads me to believe that they are desperately in need of better security for their customers data.. which should make you, as Verizon customers VERY uncomfortable. So now, since my phone isn't working, they can't send me a Pin reset request and therefore I must go into the store to verify my identity... which is where this vent session really gets going. I'm angry at this point. A little angry about the phone and a LOT angry about the fraud and lack of communication. I walk in, I'm greeted by a rep and I inform him up front that I am angry. He asks me what I need and I start to explain.. I say that my phone won't turn on and there is fraud on my account. He starts scrolling through his tablet and interrupts me needing my drivers license so he can resolve my Pin right there. He never asked about what happened with the fraud or why I was angry and he wasn't surprised about the phone not working. He said it was a software issue that was resolved with the G6 and "didn't anyone tell you?". I asked for a loaner and was informed they don't do that. I was also told that I should have bought the Protection Plan like this is my fault for not buying it. I depend on my phone to work. I'm now down a full day of work and have one more to go because the phone is being delivered across town instead of where I needed it. His solution for my problem was for me to buy a new phone. Why in the world would I buy a new one when the one I bought from them in November doesn't work? He was suggested to buy one off of Ebay or Offer Up. Um.. ebay still has shipping so that's a no.. and the phone off of Offer Up may not even work and there is no legal recourse for that sale if it doesn't. Besides again.. why would I spend a couple of hundred when I already spent it on a brand new phone less than a year ago? This whole conversation he carried on smirking at me which just grinds me.. show some empathy. Well, I tell him I can't afford a new phone and then.. get this.. he tells me "that it sounds like a personal problem". WHAT? Where did this guy learn his sales techniques?! So let's take an angry customer, speak to them condescendingly and then insult them. I don't need attitude, I needed empathy to start, options would be a great second step, and then maybe end it with making me feel valued even if I couldn't get I wanted. He said I was mad I didn't like his answers. That's true. he wasn't solving my problem and even though he couldn't, he wasn't trying to retain me as a customer AT ALL. If he had started with an apology for my stress, calmed me down.. he could have then explained that for my next purchase I should get the Protection Plan so this won't happen and explained it to me. And you know what? I might have ended up liking him to the point where I would have come back and bought my next phone from him. What a concept!! And by the way Sales Guy.. I had enough cash in my purse to buy a new phone from you. So that "personal problem" I had? It was actually your lack of sales talent. If other Verizon stores are running like this one, Verizon should follow suit with other companies, fold the brick and mortar stores and be strictly online. Phones are over $600 now. That's a mortgage payment for some, a month's salary for others. It's an investment.. we as customers want to feel valued for our dollars, not ripped off.. and certainly not offended. I went into this location to upgrade my iPhone and purchase an iPad. Either the store is hurting for sales or the salesperson helping me was hurting for commission. First, he brought out an entire plastic been overflowing with accessories for both items and when I repeatedly declined wanting to purchase any of them, he managed to manipulate me into purchasing a completely useless HUM device for my car. He did so by telling me that he it only cost $30 and that it would be a way for me to make use of an extra line on my account that was not in use, but that I'm still paying for. I agreed because the device was an expensive in because I may as well use the line that I am already paying for. However, instead of attaching the device to the extra line already on my account, he added yet another line to my account which I am now stuck under contract with for the next two years. I would not have purchased the car device had I known it would add this extra line and prepped me into a contract for another two years. When I discovered that another line had been added for this device, I attempted to return it and was told that I could not return the device or cancel the additional line without paying a cancellation fee. I have worked in retail for the better part of 15 years. Dishonesty and manipulation are traits that I absolutely loathe in sales employees. This location is less than 5 miles from my house and I would rather drive 30 miles up to the location on 43rd Ave. and Bell Road to work with the honest employees who were able to help me fix a problem with my account without lying and costing me more money. read more

This place is the poster child for poor customer service. I went here to purchase an accessory for my smartphone. I was not greeted at the door by any of the eight store employees. Granted three were actually helping other customers. Two employees were adjusting phone displays which left three employees to acknowledge the existence that someone had stepped into the store. I continued back towards the accessories and proceeded to look at the accessory that I came into the store to purchase. I then waited in the hopes that someone would acknowledge me. I even made eye contact with store employees. Still nothing, I decided to exit the store with my daughter. When I was walking out I stated to the employees at the counter, "Thanks gentlemen". They then acknowledged me. That upset me more than anything. I attempted to voice my discontent when a gentlemen who looked more like a tattoo artist than a retail employee turned and just walked away. Another gentlemen, that's a stretch, just proceeded to talk over me and stated I should have just approached him. What? You work in customer service. You need to be active. I went to the Chandler mall store and they were great. Avoid this store on 54th as if they all have the plague. The customer service at this location is inadequate. There is a blond girl at the front who was incredibly kind. The reps need some assistance in how to be kind to their customers and what customer service actually is. It's an uncomfortable entitlement issue. If you don't care how they treat you they will get the job done. However if you want an even somewhat pleasant experience go to a different store. read more

Horrible service. Did not help whatsoever in setting up my new phone. All they were interested in was selling cases and accessories.

I have been a customer of Verizon for over 20 years and have been in general a happy customer. I have so much to say about negative experiences over the last year where the customer service has been beyond horrible, but in the most recent example, my husband's just over 1-year old, $600 Mot Droid Turbo 2 had issues after the last OS update. From research, this is a known issue after the update that affects charging and usb to pc access on this specific phone model, and he had both issues. After following all the troubleshooting steps on the Verizon and Motorola sites, including a full reset and leaving it charge for over 24 hours, he went in to the Verizon store where we have always bought our phones (on 54th St. in Chandler). They told him they "are sales people only" and they don't do troubleshooting and blew him off with a phone restore (which he told them we had just done already). They did not tell him about purchasing refurb options or the option when there is a mfg defect (which this is). I called a number from the Verizon website for broken/ replacement devices (which also said you could visit a Verizon Store), and explained everything, and after a little troubleshooting, the phone is being replaced with a refurbished Turbo 2. The person who helped me said that the Chandler store should have worked with him to tell him his options and do some basic troubleshooting because it is a Corporate store. I will never go to this store again. I have already paid off all the phones and have no contract so I am also looking at options to finally leave Verizon due to the horrible customer service I've received except from this nice gentleman on the phone today. read more

Their solution to any problem is to wait for a phone update or activate an old phone. They also reset my phone and I lost all my apps.

I look forward to the day when Verizon has real competition. Maybe then the staff will become courteous sales representatives rather than smug ordertakers. read more
