Positives- Nice office, state of the art facility, variety of designer and non-designer glasses. Negatives- From setting the appointment to the actual visit I can only describe it as the most uncomfortable and awkward experience. The staff is very defensive and rude over the phone and in person, especially the actual optometrist; Dr. Navarro, I have never dealt with a doctor so unpleasant and robotic. I cancelled my children's two future appointments and have gone elsewhere. The demeanor of this optometrist towards women and children patients is really shocking, unfortunate and sad. read more

I never post reviews, but after this experience, I had to. When we were looking for a doctor that took my daughters insurance, this was the nearest one, and it's 30 minutes away. So she missed a half day of school to go have an exam. The lady at the front desk had no clue what she was doing, and had to keep asking the person there to help her. The doctor seemed nice, but he was also kind of rushing, which I didn't like. Then he just says "She needs glasses." so I ask why. And he says she has astigmatism, and walks out. So, the other guy comes in and takes us out and tells her to pick a pair of glasses. She does, and we sit down and he fills out something, says he will send out her order that day, and it should take 6-8 weeks! I figured it was her insurance company that was going to take so long. But the guy assured us that they never actually take 6-8 weeks, but that's what he is supposed to tell us!? 4 weeks later I call the office and check in. The lady puts me on hold 3 times, then finally says no glasses, she will call when they come in. At 6 weeks I call again. She can't find my daughter in the system. She checks her name, her birthday, and can't find her. Finally she figures out she is spelling her name wrong. But still no glasses, she will call when they come in. At 8 weeks, today, I called again. The guy answers, and he can't find my daughter either. So I get put on hold 3 times, and when he finally gets on, he says they never ordered her glasses!! So I ask how that happened (he was the one who supposedly ordered them that day!) and he tells me if we want, we can come back, pick a pair of frames, and they will order them!! I lost it. I got upset and asked him "How come they never told me this the last 2 times I called? Why did we have to wait 8 weeks for someone to figure this out? And now what, I'm supposed to take her out of school again, come in, pick frames, and then wait 8 weeks for you to tell me you didn't order them again!" He just started stammering and didn't know what to say. Waste of our time, and now my daughter still has to go to school, getting headaches because she still has no glasses!! Very old building and the receptionist was not professional. The main dr was great however but I won't be going back.

Cannot plan worth their life. Came in on Saturday at noon because I had an appointment. I get there at 11:45pm, fill out all my paperwork and then sit down. I noticed that there was a lot of people around me, so I asked how long until the doctor could see me. The man at the front desk said it would be a couple hours. Is my appointment even valid? Why would you schedule so many people at the same time? I scheduled a second appointment for 5:45pm on the following Wednesday. They call me on Tuesday telling me that my appointment at 4:45pm (What?) has been cancelled because the doctor will not even be in that late. Seriously doctors, fire all of your employees and then probably rethink exactly what customers mean to you. You're not working in the ER, so I don't have to see you. I have never experienced a doctor with the level of confidence that this one has. He does great work, but comes off a little arrogant. Nevertheless, doctors are not here for entertainment, they are here to be doctors. The lack of a perfect score is due the the fact that I had to contact the manufacturer of my glasses to get the frames replaced rather than going through where I bought them. I appreciate the help of the staff once I came through a second time and apologized for my behavior previously. I went to this place mid-2010, and marked up quite a large bill from recommend upgrades to my lenses with promises of "HD Vision" with the upgrades. After I agreed to them, I was told that there was a no-refund policy, but if something went wrong, they would fix it. It took a month to get the glasses, with no communication from them on delays. When I finally got them, it was the first time in 20 years of wearing glasses that I have ever had worse vision after a refraction with new lenses. Took them back in, and complained about it, and was told that frequently these type of glasses (progressives) result in blurry peripheral vision, but that I would get used to it. That would have been nice to know before I agreed to them. The optometrist saw me again, and went to great lengths to improve the prescription from my last pair of glasses. It took another 2-3 weeks to get the revised glasses back. Unfortunately, my vision was still worse even with the second refraction, but I was so frustrated with the process and turn over time athat I never went back. I figured my eyes were just bad, and nothing could really be done to improve where I was at. In the new year, I went to the place I've always gone to before at the Inland Center Mall, and there was a new optometrist there, Dr. Hoang. Immediately after refraction, I noticed the new prescription to be 3x better than before, and realized what truly poor service I received from Orange Plaza Optometry. Dr. Hoang was amazing, a great listener, and most importantly she refracted me to IMPROVED VISION. Since then, I have told my family (wife and son both need glasses) to never go back to this optometrist/business, and will continue to recommend to other friends and family to steer clear if they desire excellent service, great refraction/optometrist, and a money back guarantee to back up quality. read more

I was there on the same day Tiffany P. was there with her daughter. She is absolutely correct, the experience was awful. No chairs, no way to safe distance, felt unfriendly and unsafe. The assistants should have asked people to step outside and make sure everyone including children were wearing masks. There were ten + people in a small space. Due to the experience and an inability to safe distance, I am now quarantined for 14 days due to family underlying conditions. Shame on the doctor for overbooking and creating an unsafe environment. Most places you go in having 20/20 vision and you come out "needing glasses" not the case here. This Dr. is honest and I didn't feel they were out for our money. I rarely ever leave reviews for anything but this is just ridiculous. I have been coming to this optometrist for over a year and am fed up. I make appointments and show up on time only to wait up to an hour to be seen. Which completely negates the purpose of making an appointment in the first place. And now, I decided to order contacts from them. I have a stigmatism so I need two separate contact prescriptions. I received in the mail only a 6 pack for my left eye and a 24 pack for my right. This makes absolutely no sense and I am extremely frustrated as the person on the phone told me that the pack I was ordering would last me two to three months. Even if i received the full 24 pack for both eyes that would last me exactly 24 days because I ordered daily's. I don't know who decided it was okay to do this but it's extremely frustrating and disappointing due to the fact that I wasn't even notified that I would only receive a 6 pack. Super confusing and shady. I feel like I was scammed into buying more contacts and paying more out of pocket, as contacts are usually cheaper when bought all together. I will be changing providers ASAP and DO NOT recommend buying contacts from this clinic. read more

I made an appointment to get an eye exam and look at glasses. When I made the appointment I went through the insurance process to make sure it would be covered. I called back 3 times confirming my appointment and then when I show up they tell me "oh actually your insurance does not work here". Why wait until I show up to my appointment to tell me that?? You had two and a half weeks to tell me so I could've possibly scheduled somewhere else. Now I'm stuck with migraines for however long the wait is for an appointment somewhere else plus the shipping for glasses. Thanks guys!! read more

My wife and I both are very satisfied with our eye exams. I have been going to Dr Navarro for a number of years. This was the first visit for my wife. Office staff was helpful in picking out new frames for me. I was told the new glasses would take 10 working days to be made. The doctor knows his stuff, his "bedside manner" is stiff, but his prescription resulted in the most comfortable contact prescription I've ever had. That said, his office staff are the worst I've ever come across. Unbelievably rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. They rolled their eyes at my every question and treated my very standard and simple requests as if they were a huge burden. Overall amazing experience! Dr.Navarro was very helpful. I was complaining about my close up vision becoming worse, and he told me it was normal for people of my age. So he recommended no line bifocals. Best recommendation, as I see perfectly again. Dr. Navarro was very professional, friendly, and he explained everything in great detail. He has updated instruments that give him a very detailed look at the eyes, and the images he uses are very helpful in explaining my eye health. They have an great selection frames that are reasonably priced. I got a great deal on a second pair of glasses even though I used my insurance on the first pair. I tried this optometrist because they took my insurance. I had a less than pleasant experience. First, the positives. The female eye doctor that I saw the first time was great. She was friendly and informative. I am not sure if she is a regular doctor there, but she was very helpful. Now, the negatives. First, the "dispensary" desk is the front check in desk. It is right next to the chairs where patients wait. This means if you have insurance issues or problems with your bill, anyone can hear you talking about it. Secondly, the staff was rather unprofessional and talked about their personal lives in front of patients. They also pulled up my benefits incorrectly and did not tell me of fees for follow up appointments -- which they said was because my insurance was pulled up incorrectly at first. When I called to discuss my frustration (appointment fees I was unaware of and confusion about how many contacts I was getting), I was met with hostility and the only apology that I received was "I am sorry that you did not understand." There wasn't genuine concern expressed or any empathy. In fact, I felt blamed for the problems, no ownership of any issue was taken. I felt completely taken advantage of and was very frustrated. They did not close the door to the patient exam room during my eye exam which was a little weird to me. If that was the only problem, however, I would not have minded. As the other patient said, they did not call to schedule follow up appointments. I also emailed the office one day, and then called the next day (to schedule a follow up appointment). The day after I received a phone call about my email, which had been taken care of with my phone call on the previous day -- somehow their communication is down. I would give -10 stars if I could. I made the Horrendous mistake of dealing with your excuse of an "office" for far too long. My first visit was in Mid February / Early March, it is now JULY and I have not received my contacts. The Dr. and Staff here are incredibly unprofessional! Dr Navarro practically argued with me... The Client, if my insurance will/will not cover my contacts. Prior to my eye exam I spent over an hour on the phone with my insurance confirming the coverage of contacts, as well as, what specific steps ANY Doctor would need to take. In April and May I was on the phone with their office more days than not, when It was finally confirmed That my contacts were ordered I was relived. Now in here it is July and I'm STILL waiting for a call from their office. I finally had a moment away from work and decided to pop in, hoping my order would be ready! After speaking with the staff and having them whisper in front of me ( I'm nearly blind, not deaf) I come to find out, drum roll please, my contacts have not been ordered!! I wasn't sure if I should or should not have been surprised. So today I decided to call Ledesma Optometry, the office I had to order my glasses through. They had a practical adult selection, and my order arrived in less than 2weeks! As I am on the phone with the front desk he placed me on hold and received another call from a frustrated ex-customer of Dr. Navarro's. They had the Same issue! I've had to formally report Orange Plaza Opt's office to my insurance, and I would recommend the same to anyone else who has fallen victim to their scam. My last experience with Orange Show Plaza which was a couple years ago as afterwards I never returned. I hadn't thought of it until recently and I wasn't on Yelp at the time. This Yelping will help a young naïve women. It is unfortunately a true story. As a child, for years I had been taken to see Dr Navarro to care for my eyes. As an adult I went to see him again, I encountered a different man performing an exam. Half way into the exam the Dr's mood experienced a violent change for no apparent reason. He basically cussed me out and called me a name. He was extremely hostile for no reason. I should have walked out on him, I don't know why. I guess this was the place I knew and trusted since childhood so I didn't. He never sent me any kind of apology. I wouldn't go back ever now, the man is a psychopath, and it's dangerous to trust your only 2 eyes to this man. read more

Orange Plaza Optometry keeps on deleting my post how sad. We went in a couple of days ago for my kids exams when I walked in There was no Hi I will be right with you or can I help you, I just stood there finally after a long time the receptionist said can I help you. The Dr. was very rude and ubrupt, was very inpatient when my daughter was doing her eye chart kept tapping his foot and acted like he wanted her to hurry. When it came to picking out glasses we were told to pick from a black box and was told it was for IEHP members glasses were so bad and ugly, office has a cold stale feeling I made a complaint with IEHP this office has no business treating people so bad. Update: DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!! This is in response to the manager/Dr. responded to my original posting about. One inappropriate word came out of my mouth during my conversation with the receptionist that hung up on me. The manager/Dr. responded that I was even yelling. I don't know but did your receptionist also tell you that I was driving with my hands-free device on the freeway and that she couldn't hear me originally? So yes I did have to raise my voice in order for her to hear me while I was driving. If you were her have an issue with that that's your problem. I told her that it was not directed at her but the situation. Furthermore when I called back and no one answered, that's a little bit inappropriate on your end. When I finally called back after a couple times, someone answer the phone, and I told him that I wanted to speak to the manager because I thought it was very inappropriate of what happened. I guess the doctor with a manager never got that message, something is not wrong with me but on your end of everything. As far as the glasses cutting my sins face, one of the technician said that he would not allow them to go out of the store because they would cut his face. So please get your story straight before you decide to respond back to my posting of your store. Obviously you should be doing with your employees making certain that they are professional so that an incident like this does not happen again. One of the techs ordered the wrong type of lenses, postponing when my son would get his glasses. Then I was told that they would be back in the following Thursday or Friday. No call Thursday, I called Friday they said they would be in. They would call once received. Saturday came along and still no one call. Since they knew I was waiting for the lenses, they should've call me even if they did not come in that way I wouldn't be anticipating their phone call. I called the following Monday to find out what the heck was up with the order since they said they would be back in the prior week. I said that I needed to guarantee that they were going to be in Or I was going to be going to my credit card company and getting 100% of my money that I paid. The text that I don't was before didn't even want to speak to me. Finally the glasses came in. The delays that I have had with this place has caused me to keep postponing my child's doctor visit to a different doctor. That appointment is supposed to figure out if my son needs eye surgery or not. So the delay that this office cause is unacceptable. All of this is supposed to be done before my child goes back to school, including visiting the other doctor. Now that the wind is really his second appointment is delayed. I was trying to get this all done before school started to my son wouldn't be missing any time. But nothings to this office is going to have to miss time from school just because they ordered the wrong lenses. Oh and I totally forgot that that since they ordered the wrong ones as they say I was going to have to pay for new ones. They were so thick when they originally came in, they were also going to charge me to get them shave down so they want to cut my sons face. One of the ladies that answered the phone one time hung up on me because I said one cuss word. And I even told her it was not at her but the situation. And I have consistently been told that her glasses or contacts are never ready when promised and have never been Completed in less then 2 weeks to a month ! I have 4 children and my son who is now 28 years old first attended your office at age 17 so I can say without a doubt, I have watched this office go down hill for several years and was a loyal patient to Dr. Navarro. Never during that time , did I feel the need to write a review until now. Both yourself and the receptionist simply answered " she's next" when I asked how much longer it would be, and it was 10:45 at that point . No reason to be dishonest about the " lack of " customer service or "lack of" chair side manner at this office. Patients will see this for themselves. Your entire staff seems miserable and inconvenienced by the thought of patient care. DO NOT GO HERE. This place was so bad, I made a Yelp account to give it a review. When I walked into this business for the first time, the people were very friendly and I thought I had found my new eye doctor. Nope! The examination and everything else was great until it came time to order my year supply of contacts. I was told it would take 3 days (insanely short) to get my contacts in. I came one week later for a follow-up and to pick up my supply. I was told that I had been misinformed and it actually took two weeks. I was bothered but it wasn't that big of a deal. I called on the date I was told my contacts would arrive and they were still not there (I found out later they hadn't even been ordered yet). After everything, I got my contacts 2 and a half months from the date of my first appointment. RIDICULOUS! They charged me for 12 months of contacts and I only received 6 months. Now I have to deal with these people again. In summary: Very friendly and HIGHLY INCOMPETENT. Don't waste your money, time or energy. read more

Stay away from this business. I am sad that there is no zero stars rating which they deserve more than one star rating. They made a mistake on my trifocal glasses which I have paid $400 with the exam and frames. I ended up with the simple reading glasses I could buy same reading glasses in Walmart for $8. The best of all,I was waiting for more than three weeks on those simple reading glasses. When I asked manager to speak with Dr Daniel Navaro he said that he doesn't want to speak with me!!!!!!!!. Yes, I spent $400 at his business and he didn't want to speak with me for 5 minutes. Think twice before you decide to make glasses there and keep in mind this: if they make a mistake you will never get your money back because of their No refund policy. There are so many better places in Redlands where you can be respected as a customer and where you can make right glasses for you Little update: I got my $400 reading glasses today. I was shocked when I put my glasses on. Looking at the book in front of me, the left side of the book looked 30% smaller than right side of the book. Really??????? Unfortunately, good doctors loose patients because of their staff. In my case, I have suffered anger and frustration with the way in which my sunglasses order was handled. The workers are extremely slow, as they think you have nothing better to do with your time. They weren't truthful with me on being out of my network until I was actually paying. The optician broke my new frames while inserting the new lenses. He said the lab made them to large. So I encouraged them to overnight them to lab at labs expense. I never heard back from Dr Navarro office. After 2 weeks, I calked to speak with the Dr. And got the run-around. No answer from email either. Six weeks later, I called and said to mail them or I'll have neighbor pick up. I will not step foot in there again. What a nightmare! read more
