Today I had to take my cat to the Oradell Animal Hospital as he was showing possible signs of a blockage/frequent trips to the litter box. Considering the nature of this issue, I knew we couldn't wait until tomorrow to go to our primary veterinarian. Upon entering, I was pleased to see how the front of the facility was immaculate, didn't have any type of smell (even considering it being quite busy), and the immediate help I got at the front desk. From the time we signed in and each time thereafter, we were kept informed, given clear explanation of what could be going on, and treatment plan. We were in there for a total ~5 hours. We had to keep in mind it was busy, other high priorities, and we were kept updated, while my little darling was kept in the back in an oxygen cage, as his anxiety was starting to flare up his asthma. He is every sense of the word "scaredy cat." Today, Dr. Daniel Ruvolo treated us and I cannot say enough great things. He was clear, spoke through all treatment options, and I felt confident in our plan of action and how I needed to monitor him. From the time I walked in, to checkout and picking up his meds at their pharmacy, I can't recommend them enough!!! :) We've been to other Vet ER hospitals and they don't even stack up remotely to Oradell Animal Hospital. Update after my post about Connors leg surgery, oradell posted to contact them to discuss and I did. Here is the issue.... I was told that Oradells ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR/SURGEON had noted 4 possible diagnosis for him AFTER he was put under and xrayed. WTF! IS IT SUPPOSED TO PROVE THAT WE TOOK HIM TO ORADELL ORTHOPEDIC FOR A MULTIPLE CHOICE ANSWER THAT WE CAN JUST GUESS AND HOPE WE ARE RIGHT?? The woman I spoke with was genuinely concerned and didn't pull an attitude which did help a great deal but the surgeon noted several possible issues - that's still a MISDIAGNOSED LEG. Nothing was done to help him just given EXTREMELY high mg of pain meds, so high that the surgeon PANICKED when we finally got this diagnosis at Vantage and checked him out thoroughly. Luckily, Connor had not been doing any internal damage YET as a result but this can still happen. WHAT DO I WANT OUT OF THIS?? 1. Not another pet to go through this - so I wrote the review 2. I have been using this hospital for years,as of late they get worst every time, and what is worse they charge you more for it I brought my dog in limping three days ago, no xray was done gave him Ramidyl been taking it for three days, no improvement. I was charged $275.00 for nothing. I called this morning, the worthless receptionist blinded by racism, kept saying I don't understand, I have been in this country for 55 years well educated, speak fluent English, but, since there is a slight accent the racist light bulb lights up. Bottom line is they are just worthless. I do not recommend then any more​. Took him to Veg in Hoboken, they examined him completely did an Xray,we found out he has Osteoarthritis. We brought our dog, Rocket, to Oradell several times for various different issues over the last four years. And everyone has always gone above and beyond to take care of us and him. Rocket had many issues, from a mass on his spleen, to an enlarged heart, to anal gland cancer, and kidney disease, and more. The desk staff, veterinarians, and administrative staff were all so caring and attentive. Even on our very last visit when we had to say goodbye to our family member, the entire staff was beyond wonderful. We are so grateful for their care and support, and would recommend anyone to them. read more

I would give - minus ZERO review if such exsist! Pet owners - please read before bringing your pet here. Our experience with the oncology department during our dog's cancer treatment was extremely disappointing and stressful. When your pet is seriously ill, you expect clear communication, compassion, and support. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Communication was very difficult. It was almost impossible to reach someone by phone, and getting clear answers was frustrating. Even when we believed we had appointments scheduled, it did not always guarantee that we would actually see a doctor. The financial side was also very overwhelming. The treatment process was extremely expensive-even you have good pet insurance and we experienced billing issues that created additional stress during an already heartbreaking time. Instead of feeling supported while trying to help our dog, the experience often felt frustrating and discouraging. No pet owner should have to deal with that while their pet is fighting cancer. Based on our experience, I strongly encourage other pet owners to carefully research different veterinary hospitals and emergency clinics in the Paramus area before making a decision. This review reflects our personal experience, and I hope it helps others make an informed choice when seeking care for their pets. I truly wish you and your pets the best and hope you find doctors who provide the care, communication, and compassion every pet deserves. FYI. Don't trust replies from Oradell encourages you to call them and resolve any issues you will have it will be a huge disappoint! I am writing a review regarding the treatment my cat received at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ, approximately 20 years ago. What happened still haunts me, and I now believe it was not simply a tragedy--it was negligence fueled by greed. My cat was first seen at an emergency clinic, where I paid over $3,000 to have her stabilized. The ER vet determined she needed immediate surgery and called ahead to Oradell to explain the urgency. They confirmed she could be brought in, and I drove straight there, expecting her to receive the life-saving care she needed right away. When I arrived at Oradell early in the morning I conveyed that the emergency clinic said she needed immediate surgery. I paid over 5k up front for surgery including a 300 triage fee to ensure she was seen promptly as an emergency. As a staff member took my cat towards the back i asked, "you're going to do surgery on her now, right?" The staff member nodded her head affirmatively and said "We'll take care of her." That led me to believe surgery would begin shortly. Instead, they accepted her knowing full well they didn't have the time to treat her urgently. The surgery was delayed until late in the afternoon, and by then, her condition had deteriorated from stable to unstable. They never called me to inform me of the delay. They never asked for my consent to operate on a now-unstable patient. They also never told me another animal had been prioritized ahead of mine until after the surgery--when they told me my cat was brain dead. In total, I paid over $8,000 between the emergency clinic and Oradell. My cat died because they chose to take her in for the money, not because they were ready or able to treat her. They let her decline while I waited, trusting they were doing the right thing. They took my money, they took her life, and they robbed me of the chance to make an informed decision. This wasn't just poor communication. This was a betrayal of trust and a failure in veterinary ethics and patient triage. I hope no one else has to go through what I did--thinking they saved their pet by getting there in time, only to learn that the hospital never intended to act urgently at all. Stay away, stay far away, their services were completely ineffective, completed cat scan, neurological exam, 2 night stay and ZERO diagnosis, absolutely nothing solved and a ridiculous over priced fee being asked. We would be better off with this place going out of business. Over time, I encountered many vets at Oradell, and I started to realize that they aren't trustworthy, they're just money-hungry. I had taken my pet to another hospital for a second opinion after using Oradell's specialists for a while. When I had to take my pet to Oradell's ER one day, they gave me an attitude because they had learned I went for that second opinion. Just bitter and unprofessional, and makes you wonder what they'll do to your pet out of spite. When I was forced to take my pet to the ER again late one night and had to deal with Dr. Bastani, though, that was it. This vet walked into the room looking like a high school student or vet tech at best. She yawned multiple times in my face as she struggled to take notes on why I was there, and I had to repeat myself multiple times for her to understand. She had us wait for an hour for her to come back in with a plan. She even said she was going to consult with another vet, so why is this inexperienced vet working the overnight shift without the capability of taking on critical patients?! She then gave us a quote for over $10,000 for an in-patient stay, merely stating they would run tests on repeat, without explaining what they were actually going to do to resolve my pet's problems--in other words, a lot of money, a lot of tests, and no treatment plan. I wasn't about to entrust the care of my pet to this vet, who even suggested giving a treatment that was contraindicated and therefore dangerous! When I said I wanted to take my pet elsewhere, she took more than hour to finalize everything and get us out, moving and talking so slowly, even though I was clearly on edge and wanted to get out of there after spending many hours there, without anything getting done. Trust me, Oradell isn't the place to take your pet if you want timely care, accurate diagnoses, and the right treatments--I learned this the hard way. read more

Extremely Disappointed With the Care My Dog Received I have been bringing my pets to Oradell for over five years and have always trusted them in emergency situations -- until now. On Saturday, February 27th, I brought my Toy Poodle in for infected anal glands and vomiting. The doctor drained the infection and instructed me to do warm compresses every three hours at home. By the next day (Sunday), my dog was not drinking, not eating, and clearly in pain, so I brought him back. The doctor recommended keeping him overnight, and I specifically asked if they would continue the warm compresses. I was told "yes, definitely." After I picked him up Monday evening, when I arrived home, I was shocked to find his entire backside covered in dried feces -- so much that at first I thought it was dried blood. It took me nearly 15 minutes at home to clean off the hardened clumps. No animal should ever be returned to their owner in that condition, especially after being hospitalized and supposedly monitored regularly. This also makes it clear that the warm compresses were not being done, because any staff member would have seen and cleaned the area immediately. I called the next morning and spoke with Megan, the office manager. She promised to investigate and call me back that afternoon. It is now Wednesday , and I have heard nothing. No follow-up, no explanation, no concern. For a hospital that I trusted for years with my three pets, this was an incredibly disappointing experience -- both in the level of care and the lack of basic customer service. I will now be looking for another 24/7 emergency vet. I truly hope Oradell takes this feedback seriously, because no pet owner should go through this. FOLLOW‑UP REVIEW I wanted to post a follow‑up to my previous review. Megan called me this afternoon and explained that Oradell is still investigating the situation. She acknowledged that my Poodle, Leo, should not have been discharged with fecal matter on his butt and even on his back, and she apologized for this occurrence. Megan also mentioned that the techs who were on duty Sunday night and Monday stated they provided warm compresses for Leo. I do not agree with this statement, because if this had actually been done, Leo would not have had dried fecal matter on him -- it would have been cleaned before it dried while they were performing the warm compresses. That said, I appreciate the customer service Megan provided today , as well as her willingness to listen and thoroughly investigate my concerns. Oradell did offer a rebate for the nursing charge, which I declined, because my complaint was not about money. My only intention was to make them aware of how Leo was neglected and to ensure that appropriate re‑training is conducted for the staff who were overseeing him on Sunday and Monday, March 1st and 2nd. I run a small cat and kitten rescue in Montclair NJ - I have used Oradell in the past for many of my rescues and my fosters. Yesterday was the day I determined they are UNFIT to care for any of my animals. I called at 9:39 am to ask if they have room in their isolation area to take 5 sick kittens. I explained that they have Panleukopenia and only weigh about 13 ounces each at approximately 4 weeks of age. I explained this on the phone in order to convey the emergent need for care. The woman on the phone said Yes we have room for the kittens. I said...."please put me on hold and ask a doctor to be sure". she put me on hold and came back and told me to "bring all 5". I rushed over there. Told the front desk that one looked pretty critical to me - the assessment tech came out and grabbed them. I waited 2 hours while they had them in the back "assessing" them. Then I was called into a room where I waited another 30 min until the doctor came in to meet me. Dr. Kimblery Guzman told me that she needed to go over the itemized list of the estimate. I agreed to all and told her please get started on treatment. She came back in another 25 min to tell me they will only admit 3 of them. I couldn't believe it - "staffing issues" she explained, I told her to give me back the kittens - I will take them all to VEG down the street. I waited 30 min for them to bring me back my kittens. One had been "washed" I asked the male vet tech why he was wet - he had diarrhea while waiting to be seen. he told me. - THIS KITTEN DIED ON THE WAY TO VEG - 3 MINUTES AFTER LEAVING ORADELL ANIMAL HOSPITAL If they weren't so keen on getting their estimate written and approved by the client so they could receive payment - they may have had a chance. greedy and unconscionable. Not to honor the words of commitment of their own employee that they would take in all 5 and then delaying their treatment by over 3 hours is what killed this kitten I am horrified. TDLR: These people almost killed my dog when he only needed a simple, 5 minute procedure that we normally get at his vet but it was after hours. DON'T BRING YOUR DOG My senior dog used to get inexplicable but profuse nosebleeds. When this happened during business hours, his usual vet would stop the bleeding with epinephrine in 5 minutes. We are aware that this did not solve the deeper problem, but it was a temporary fix as we proceeded to research and test possible causes to the issue. When my dog got a severe nosebleed after business hours, I regrettably brought him to Oradell. They took him into the kennel and we waited an hour or two. When we were finally seen by the vet she said they would bring him out but the excitement would probably make his nose bleed again. I told her that he should have just gotten the epinephrine treatment. And if they bring him out and he starts bleeding, that they should just do the treatment he has gotten in the past until I could get him to his regular vet the next day. Instead, she ignores me, brings my dog out, he gets excited to see me (of course), he nose starts bleeding and he blows his nose, spraying blood everywhere including all over me. I'm not squeamish, but just the experience of that, when you know there is an easy solution, was enough to be very upsetting for me and my dog. She takes him out of the room again. Mind you, we brought him around 6pm and it is now approximately 8:30pm. She suggests a sedative so that he doesn't get as excited when he sees me again. I agree, mostly because I am just in shock at this point, which in retrospect I realize was the whole point of bringing my dog out to bleed again. Also in retrospect, who gives a sedative to a dog that has lost a lot of blood? I'm no vet, but that seems like a bad idea for an animal already in a weakened state. Next, she said my dog should have an exploratory camera go up his nose tomorrow and anesthesia and the whole works with the estimate being $5000 - $10000. He should stay overnight. Mind you, this is for a 12 year old dog who is already weak and that this $10000 fee was NOT for a cure but simply exploratory work. So not only would it be really rough on his already weakened body, but spending the price of a new car may or may not find something and certainly would not cure him. And he had already been through a number of tests and less invasive explorations. This procedure would be excessive and cruel. I tell her that I will think about it but for now I just want my dog home if he will not get the epinephrine. She says that they are just going to let the sedative kick in for an hour and then he will be released. As 1 hour turned into 2 hours and 9pm turned into 10pm. It seems they are closing up and I started to get worried that they would lock up the dogs or that he would not be allowed to go home. Did they forget? I didn't even get an update during this time. I decided that if he was going to suffer or die that night, he was going to do it my arms, not in some inhospitable cage with uncaring people around him. I asked for my dog back. NO answer from the staff. I ask again. Again no answer. They ignore me. Then I start getting mad and worried about the dog and demand my dog back. Now I am being loud because I want everyone at the hospital to know. THIS IS MY BABY AND I AM GETTING HIM BACK THAT NIGHT, EVEN IF I HAVE TO CALL THE POLICE. Eventually, the manager and the vet tell me to go into the exam room. I go in and the manager starts yelling at me and tells me I can never come back again, to which I respond, "Why would I ever want to come back to an E.R. where they don't treat my dog for the emergency and then hold him against my will?" Then the vet starts crying. The manager later blamed me for this, but this is really because vets are forced to extract as much money from their clients for Oradell Veterinary Hospital, regardless of the trauma it causes to the dog and the dog owner. 10 minutes later, they bring my dog out. He starts bleeding again, but he is now sedated and in a complete stupor from the sedation and loss of blood. He is also very dehydrated. He drank 3 bowls of water when he got home. He came out to me in a condition that I believe would have killed him if I had left him there overnight. I slept on the couch in the room he stayed in at home. He was still bleeding a little in the morning. First thing in the morning, I bring my dog to his usual veterinary hospital. They do the epinephrine treatment and he stops bleeding in 5 minutes. That night was the WORST night I ever had with my dog in the 13.5 years we were together. And yes, he went on to live another 1.5 years with high quality of life, in spite of his near death experience from Oradell Animal Hospital. CONCLUSION: I strongly caution you against bringing your dog to Oradell Veterinary Hospital. You are putting your dog's life at risk and also risking trauma to you and your dog. read more

We took Oradell up on their offer to discuss our review via email. Their responses were exactly what we expected - carefully worded to avoid any legal issues, indicating that the treatment we received regarding "communication, empathy, handling, medical clarify, billing, transparency and the overall experience do not reflect the standards that we expect from our team as these are not small concerns. We have since reviewed medical records, and have spoken with team members to ensure every detail is carefully addressed" Nothing will change at Oradell. Even in their email they stressed "we must have transparency" when it comes to billing (even though they OVERCHARGED us and we had to bring that to their attention to get credited and the biilling department was simply unprofessional and awful). Their entire focus is on billing. It was ironic - no one knew Ben's name when we were at Oradell but in the email, they specifically mention his name in almost every single sentence. Such a joke. Ben may have gotten some level of somewhat adequate care but nowhere near what Oradell thinks they provide - especially for their price tag - and he got ZERO love, compassion and kindness. Our poor boy has only known love and kindness since the day he rescued us - we keep apologizing to him for those awful 3 days at Oradell. Oradell also knocked our wonderful vet directly to us - we let our vet know. So, Oradell is just shameless and unprofessional on top of everything else. We have been sharing our experience with our extensive rescue community. Too bad New Jersey has not yet passed all the laws around animals as family members yet - when that happens, I hope Oradell is forced to make significant changes in their care and processes. Until that time, we absolutely beseech pet families to look into VEG in Clifton, NJ - or even Red Bank, NJ where Ben had his leg surgery many years ago. We must all continue to fight for our pets' rights the same as we do for any family member - and get the very best care for them. Oradell is NOT the place for it. Avoid!! Had to wait 40 minutes to hear that we can't be seen by an eye doctor M. Brown while blood and blood clots coming out of my cat's eye. Why you wouldn't tell me that when I came in?? Does it take 40 minutes to check the schedule? It is an emergency and life threatening condition why we even had to wait at all? They were calmly taking in all animals who had appointments made months in advance and don't look like their in any distress, but animal with emergency can't be seen...just terrible! The other options were to see a regular doctor (not an eye doctor) as emergency meaning for the multiple $x5 of the regular visit or leave her there so they can charge her for crying alone in the cage $500++ per day? and then see a regular doctor for $x5 multiple on a fee. So much for their advertisement that help is available 24/7. They just want to rip you off- they don't care about your pets! Moreover, I was told that my cat (that most likely to die if she would not get medical attention) can't see their ophthalmologist in a near future as he works only on Monday & Thursday and booked for a long time, but try to call next Monday if there are any cancellations... maybe they should get additional eye doctor or pay to doctor Brown on per visit base (as he doesn't go by the oath he took as a doctor to save animals), so he has an incentive. We typically bring our dogs to Blue Pearl for emergencies but they were unexpectedly closed so we took our dog here in the middle of the night when she got suddenly sick. The experience was great start to finish. Bonnie at the front desk was so nice. She was quick to get everything processed and even called us after we left to just double check that we had everything we needed. It was great to be greeted by someone so nice when we were so worried about our dog at 1am. We saw Dr. Donovan and she was great as well. She explained everything to us very thoroughly and knew exactly what to do to make our dog feel better, even though she wasn't 100% sure what the problem was. Our dog could barely walk into the hospital but ended up being able to happily run out of there. Dr. Donovan even wrote a very sweet personal message at the end of her report which we saw when we got home which was such a nice thing of her to do. We expected a high cost, we know how much emergency vet care can cost, but were pleasantly surprised that is was lower than we thought. read more

This place used to have some of the best surgeons in the country. Not anymore since Covid. Have fun at oradell, if you enjoy walking away with a $45,000 bill for a 22 lb Jack Russell terrier. That said, they saved his life. THAT said, they only agreed to do so after I shamed the every living shit out of them and lectured them on the value of an animals life and replied repeatedly to their repetitive advice to "Just put him down" by asking them if that's the same advice they would give a parent who rushed in with a 7 yr old little boy who was bleeding out. When they said no. I said, and yet you killing my dog in the same situation is ok? You should be ashamed of yourself? It was a good hour of me having to break down their entitled and abused logic before they would even begin surgery on him. But they DID save him. And it was $45k bill. But those doctors have since left. They changed management and staff after Covid. Go to eclipse instead now. read more

I took my dog here because her back legs were suddenly paralyzed overnight. Thankfully Oradell has a dog neurologist (Dr. Levshin) that diagnosed her with a spinal cord herniation. After an MRI we realized we had to do surgery because there was a burst blood vessel (hematoma) in the same area too. I read online that this type of surgery is intense, with dogs taking a long time walk again. However to our surprise, the doctor did such an immaculate job that she was back up "walking" with a sling 2 days after surgery when we went to pick her up. That was 4 weeks ago, and she can now walk (at least short distances) without a sling and her recovery has been very successful! The staff and doctors were great! Very warm, gentle, and patient with her. Although the surgery, stay, and mri was expensive, I would definitely recommend this hospital for their quality of care. read more

Brought our dog here after being attacked by another, sadly they started working on our dog she was bleeding but walked in wasn't carried in was after a deposit of 2000 they finally started. Then called 2 hours later "we need 6000 more to continue and keep the dog overnight or euthanasia won't be wrong if you can't afford the 6000.00 " where is the empathy the compassion? Wanted a decision at a drop of a dime. I swear this particular doctor had no real want to care for our dog just to make money. I called and accepted the 6000 and said after 24 she will come home no matter what, The next day they gave a reply that our dog was better. But wanted another day . On discharge we realized that the report was not as grave as they stated her I wonder why? Because it NEVER was as they stated they think most people won't read or don't have medical background. We picked up our dog and will never bring another here. They sent us home and didn't even give us a final bill because billing was closed of course it was because they had a large deposit to withdraw from. So now we wait our the death sentence of the final bill. How do you abuse folks to even suggest to euthanize a dog because a family will possibly not be able to pay , the situation was an emergency, but it wasn't that grave to think that we almost considered for one second to possibly euthanize her cause we thought it was that bad how embarrassing to take an oath and to behave this way. read more

Yes I didn't feel any urgency at all. It's too bad that a small dog having a seizure and losing full control of his body movement is not a priority. I will know better next time if he has a seizure to take him somewhere that will provide the level of care that he deserves. read more

Previously I wrote about how much we loved Oradell Animal Hospital's emergency and critical care doctors, and the entire units support team, that did such an amazing job when our Primo was ill, and eventually passed away. That was a 5-star review and convinced us to try OAH as our primary vet for our new dog. Big mistake. We recently brought home a medium sized, one and a half year old, mixed breed rescue dog. Thinking that because OAH did such a great job previously, this was a no brainer to have them care for our newest addition. On the positive side, the doctors, techs, and most of the administrative staff were all amazing. No real complaints there. However, what I learned about the OAH policy regarding test results notifications, and how it played out for us, convinced my wife and I that OAH has some serious systemic defects that put our dog, our family and friends, and other dogs at risk of getting ill or worse. On a Wednesday I took our new dog in for a check-up at the Hasbrook Heights location. In addition to getting his vaccines up to date we also asked for a blood test and a fecal parasite test. Since I couldn't get a stool sample for the check-up that day, I wound up bringing one in to the Paramus office on that Saturday. Monday came and no word on the fecal test. Tuesday, I called to check on the results and was led to believe that they weren't back yet from the lab, which I later came to find out wasn't true, but was just a stalling tactic. Wednesday, I received no call again, so I reached out late in the day to find out what was going on. I told the receptionist I wanted to find out what was happening with his fecal test. About an hour later a doctor called. I asked why I didn't get any information on the test and the explanation I received was absurd and very troubling. I was told that if test results are negative or show no significant or concerning issues, they call you as soon as they receive them. If there are some things that are concerning, the prescribing doctor calls you, when they are in. However, our doctor was away the whole week, and apparently there was no proper coverage in effect to notify families of any issues, because it turned out he had Giardia. The doctor who called took great pains to point out that this strain of Giardia isn't a very concerning one, and most dogs carry it, and some owners don't even treat it unless the dog shows signs of distress. The doctor went on to justify not having me informed by saying how the Giardia really would only be a concern if someone was immune compromised or if the dog was much older. How dare Oradell Animal Hospital withhold or delay any notification about my dog's health. Giardia is a very contagious parasitic condition and they have no idea what our life is like or how I would prefer to handle treatment. Did they know I take our dog to the dog park regularly? If I know he has Giardia, I try to be a responsible owner, and not bring him to socialize or share water so we are not spreading this disease. Did they know that my 91-year-old mother, who I take our dog to visit with multiple times a week, just finished treatments for bladder cancer and may have a weakened immune system and if she caught Giardia, it could be a real concern? Did they know I had planned to visit one of my closest friends and her 15-year-old Beagle who has some stomach issues already? If our two dogs met, we absolutely could have spread this disease, and put my friends dog at risk for death. I feel that OAH's policy's and actions in this case were reckless and irresponsible and their hubris put both humans and canines at risk. This was a great disappointment and I can't see us ever going back to OAH for anything be emergency care, if no one else is available to help us. read more

I am a long term user of Oradell Animal Hospital. I am the mother of the patient, High Tail. The various doctors have always provided me with excellent service. They have their staff follow up with my pet after visits. My cat has long term severe medical problems: pancreatic, renal disease, heart murmur, and now cancer. He tends to have a problem moving his bowels. He is numerous medications and special diets. Needless to say I am a very satisfied client. I drive a rental car to come to Oradell from Manhattan. In October 2022, I came to this hospital with my 15 year old dog. He needed an ultrasound that I wanted to get done asap. Earlier that night we had gone to a different animal hospital, but unfortunately their ultrasound tech was on vacation for the week. They recommended Oradell if I wanted to get the ultrasound done the same night, and of course I wanted to make sure my fur baby was ok. At that point his condition seemed very serious and we were not sure if he'd make it. We were in the waiting room at Oradell waiting for my dog to be seen throughout the night, and this is no exaggeration. We got there before midnight and left after 6 am. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude. When I inquired with her why pets who came in hours after us were being seen before us, she responded that their pets' condition were more serious than ours. When I pointed out that at this point, my dog's condition did indeed seem very serious and we would not know the severity until further testing, she apologized. The techs were nice enough, but the hospital wanted to keep my dog for an additional night which was completely unnecessary, and I declined. I paid $1,722 for my visit. Now in June 2025 I received a notice in the mail that I was being SUED by the county court for an unpaid balance at the hospital of $344. I was shocked and have never received a notice like this before. I reached out to Megan in customer support (via email), but she was unprofessional and very unpleasant to communicate with. If you want compassionate and good medical care for your pet don't go here. Not the hospital in Oradell and especially not the office in Fort Lee. They use to be a good hospital but since they have a new head of the hospital, since COVID, they seem more concerned with making money and not the quality of care of our loved one's. The vets seem overwhelmed, don't really care and have misdiagnosed our dogs too many times leading us to seek out other vets to pay more money and get proper medical attention for our loved one's. We are so grateful to all the people at Oradell Animal Hospital. In the past we have really only used this facility for emergency care, but they are now our number one choice for all our pets needs. For some context, the last 30 years or so we would go to our local veterinarian office (we'll refer to them as "M") in Elmwood Park for everything. However, post covid, we saw a lot of change at M, and the only person we found we could rely on was the long time staff member "P." She's an angel. When our beloved 13 year old lab mix recently had issues that gave us concern, we tried to get some answers at M and requested a specific test be done, which they took our money for and said they would do. When we called to follow up, it turned out they didn't do the test we asked for, and told us to go immediately to the emergency room. We took our boy to Oradell and they were amazing in their care. From the intake forward we were always kept looped in on what was happening and they checked in with us at all hours as we requested. They anticipated our needs, showed sincere concern at every stage, and did their best to make us as comfortable as possible. He was in for a little over three days and they did everything they could for him. The last night of his stay they called us and discussed options. We decided to do one more transfusion and see in the morning how he was. The next morning came, but he wasn't getting better. At that point we knew we had a hard decision to make, and all the people at OAH were so supportive and comforting. They helped us get him home so he could have a peaceful passing surrounded by his loved ones. Among the amazing people we met were his primary care team of Doctors' Kristen DiSiena, Pamela Fettig, and Kristi Gannon. We are so grateful for their compassion and assistance through this very hard time. Now please don't misunderstand, I am not blaming M for his passing. On the contrary, as I write this, I am still struggling with my own feelings of guilt that maybe I could have done more or maybe acted sooner and he would still be here. That's my struggle. What IS most important is how much we trust the people at Oradell Animal Hospital and how grateful we are to them. Absolutely a great place to take your beloved pet. read more

Here we go again, dismissing, covering up and lying. Megan D. I stand by my review. One star is too much for this place. I had an absolutely terrible experience at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus NJ. I trusted them with my beloved umbrella cockatoo because on the phone they claim to have a few avion doctors. When I brought my pet in, they told me that avian doctor was in surgery and was not available to examine my bird or speak with me. It took Oradell Hospital about 20 minutes to kill my bird that my family and I loved for over 30 years. Oradell Hospital did not lose any money. They still billed me for over $300 despite the fact that Avion doctor was not available to see my poor bird. This hospital is in business to rip off and take advantage of grieving pet owners. Just got of the phone with Magan, client concerns manager, who would not even listen to me. She expressed no understanding or compassion at all. Instead, she was talking over me, trying to shut down and dismiss my concerns." Why would we lie?" yelled Magan at me over the phone and she hung up before I could answer her. I will tell you why Oradell Hospital is lying to the grieving pet parents every day all day long. It is because this business ONLY wants and cares about grubbing large amounts of your money! Oradell hospital uses scamming questionable billing practices, forcing stressed concerned with worries pet patents to sign authorization for very large amounts of money before any doctor even examine your pet. This hospital will trap you in giving them thousands of your money upfront. You will go along with this money scam because you are worried sick about your beloved pet. After that Oradell Hospital will do anything to justify their absurd charges. This is the reason why Oradell Hospital is lying to the grieving pet parents.
