    This was an absolute waste of time and an incredibly upsetting experience. I am over $1,500 down with no answers and my cat is still sick. The x-rays gave no real indication of what was wrong, and only afterward was an ultrasound mentioned. If that was always going to be the next step, it should have been clearly explained from the start instead of after charging thousands of dollars. I was also advised to keep my cat overnight, which felt like another way to inflate the bill rather than a true medical necessity. When I was informed that the ultrasound would push the total cost beyond $5,000, I had no choice but to walk away and seek care elsewhere. This experience felt predatory, not supportive. It gave corruption and profit over patient, just like what people complain about in regular hospitals. I trusted this facility with my pet during a very emotional time and left feeling taken advantage of. Never again. I just left at 1:39am and I wrote this review immediately!

    I brought my 15+ Jack Russell in on a Monday night with serious vomiting and dehydration. I was panicked because she had never been this sick before. She was immediately taken to triage to be checked. The doctors and nurses were kind and calm (with both Lexi and with me) and kept me updated. During our time there Monday night I saw the compassion they showed to the other humans with their animals and the they showed the upmost respect and sensitivity to everyone. When they recommended keeping her overnight I was scared but knew it was the best place for her. They allowed me to bring her bed and lambchop (she's a very sassy, spoiled old broad) and immediately she was the center of attention. I was updated throughout the day of her progress and when I went back to bring her home, the vet sat down with me, explained everything and gave me her medication with directions as well as a suggestion to follow up on in a week with our vet. She was treated like a princess (carried around in a sling and given lots of attention and love) and I could tell the her anxiety was almost non existent when i showed up to get her. She was loved and cared for and safe and that what mattered most to me and my little girl. I can not say enough kind things and thank you all enough for helping my girl (and me) through very scary night. I have told everyone how wonderful you all are and if, god forbid, I have another emergency, we are coming right back to you. Thank you, so very much.

    Everyone is super friendly and kind. No stress as they are open 24/7. My Cat Candy was handled with care. It's not far from me so it will be my go to for emergency situations with my furry family. Only downside is the cost. It's not cheap. But nothing in NJ ever is.

    At VEG, when he was demanding to be in my lap even though he was still hooked up to an IV and only a day post-op.

    I had to bring my 9-year old cat, Kiba, to VEG in the late evening of New Years Day, after he had gotten badly sick twice and was quickly becoming lethargic. They did X-Rays when an ultrasound showed signs of something stuck inside him, and those showed multiple foreign bodies in his small intestine. He was admitted for surgery by Dr. Lynch after I spent a tense 30 minutes getting a CareCredit account set up and going over the estimated budget it would take to save him. He spent two full days there, and had a tense follow-up 24 hours after I brought him home. He hadn't eaten anything at home, and he was looking very much like he'd have to be euthanized. But he rallied when we got there, and after getting a couple more injections that finally kick-started his appetite again along with reducing the inflammation in his innards, we brought him home again and finally saw him turn around. He's 10 days post-surgery today, and has fully healed and is back to his old, cuddly, loving self. I went in terrified I was going to lose my boy, and now it looks like I'll have him for several more years. I wish 24/7 emergency centers like VEG weren't so expensive, but after reading about the specialized training and certifications that all staff of these centers must have, and how they need to be able to handle literally anything that comes through their doors, I do understand it. The important thing is that they were able to save my cat, who I love as much as any of my kids. And they, both in their 20s, spent half their life with him and would have been just as devastated if we'd lost him. Also have to note that every pet that came through the door while I was sitting with him during his recovery was treated with the same level of attention and care as he'd gotten. Not all of them made it, sadly, but the staff consistently did everything they could to help and ease the pain of the worried and distraught owners. Thanks so much, VEG and especially Dr. Lynch and Kiba's nurses!

    Way too expensive. Price was so high I had to open an account with Care Credit. We're never going back. Yes the staff was kind but for $1,900.00, nope. Never going back. They did not find the root cause either. They said they couldn't find where tge blood was coming from. They sent us home in the same condition we came in. A few days later, the bleeding stopped. If tge couldn't find what was wrong with my Mister, how did they know what would stop it? They could have just given me the meds without running the tests. Especially since tge tests didn't give them an answer.

    Last week my fur baby Scooby started to vomit bile. My vet was closing and referred me to VEG. Thank goodness. The compassion and love they showed towards our baby was overwhelming. From start to finish I was allowed to be with my fur baby. Which would not have happened if I took him to his regular vet. (They don't allow you inside the building). Unfortunately my fur baby had to be put to rest. Dr. Winter and the entire staff were so compassionate. They helped us through the process and everyone hugged us. (I was a crying mess). They allowed us to stay with him as long as we wanted to grieve. They even gave us his paw prints. As hard as this ordeal was for my family, VEG made it a bit more comforting. Thank you Dr. Winter and the staff.

    Our 17-year-old Bichon had an issue so we called our veterinarian. He was closed and recommended the Veterinary Emergency Group here in my hometown. I was so glad he did. We called and they said to come right in. We checked in quickly when we arrived and were with a doctor very soon..they said we could stay with Kida the whole time! The area was very clean. The entire staff was very pleasant, and kind, and showed so much love for our Kida. Dr. Rubal Lobana explained everything to me and my wife and then gave us some time to decide in what direction we wanted to go for treatment. All the girls that assisted her were AWESOME and kind!     My lovely cat Morticia has been to the ER three times in the past few days due to vomiting and not eating. The staff here was amazing in how they handled Mort and her very nervous parents. They spent a long time answering my questions and exploring options for her care. I highly recommend them if you are ever in an emergency situation. Very compassionate.

What I received was a quick response (via text) and I actually thought I was talking to a receptionist. I stumbled on happy paws on google/facebook and I really wish another vet had an opening and was able to come to our home. From the second I spoke to Dr Mink I felt rushed. I initially called her around 12/1pm to ask if she had an opening and she did from 6-8pm that she can be here.. I tried to call her back to confirm but she said she was in a house call and she'll call me back.. call back never happened.. turned into just a text exchange confirming she can come between 6-8pm. When she got here at 6:30 all we wanted was 10 extra minutes with our girl.. she made it seem like I was asking for an hour and said she can give us 5 minutes as she has another appointment right after.. I already got annoyed at this comment right from the beginning. When she came in first thing she asked for was payment.. no asking of what our girls name was, how old she was, what was going on.. nothing.. zero sympathy.. went straight for payment and then straight to almost giving her the first shot to put our baby to sleep.. she then gave us maybe 5 minutes and went straight to shaving her paw and putting in the IV line.. After our girl was gone the Dr gave us zero information about cremation.. all I got was can you pickup her ashes in Clifton? That's it.. no name of the company nothing.. we were also in total shock still so even asking these questions then completely went over my mind. I had to text her the next day asking when we can pickup her ashes and when they will be ready.. all I got was an excuse saying she sent the information already but the text didn't go through so she will resend them. In the end we picked up our girls ashes and paw prints on Tuesday, all no thanks to the Dr, I called the cremation place myself and was told everything was ready for pickup. I just hope this review helps others.. we were going through one of the worst days with our girl and looking back at all the things that happened I really wish we went with someone else.

It felt like she was at home--she was on vacation too! I can't say enough good things about Sal and his family. Roxy, who turns 11 in June, is a double doodle (half golden doodle, half labradoodle) and an absolute sweetheart. She got along well with the other two dogs, and I received reassuring texts and pictures to let me know she was doing fine. Plus, she came home smelling great--not that typical "I've been around 100 dogs" odor. K9 Stay & Play is exceptionally clean; every area is meticulously maintained, both inside and outside. At checkout, Roxy was all packed and ready to go! Everything I left with her was cleaned and organized. Just WOW! Sal and his family made my picky pup feel right at home. Now, she has a vacation spot too! Thank you, Sal and family, for giving me peace of mind so I could truly enjoy my vacation.
