After a traumatizing experience of having to put down our beloved dog, requesting her clay paw print & remains, we were lied to and told multiple stories from our pet was "decomposed" a "dirty paw" to they never received the invoice, the driver didn't know how to spell decomposed (which is "why we were never told)", two dogs had the same name & were mixed up. The entire experience was devastating, especially when the excuses kept changing. They simply never had the paw print taken & coldly lied to us in our grief. It's not easy having to put down or say goodbye to your canine bestie. I randomly came across PetHaven and decided to trust my gut, although setting it all up via text was a little unconventional and had me a little uneasy at first. But the people there were very knowledgeable. They even went the extra mile to tell me of my options (about euthanizing) to make it as easy and cost-effective as possible. Their communication was great. They were there at the animal hospital soon after it was over. And they were fast on the turn around once everything as said and done. I would like to give a huge shoutout to Pet Haven for their gentleness, understanding and availability throughout a very difficult process. Our 12 year old dog, Luna, passed away peacefully at home in our arms on the night of Saturday, May 25. Due to it being a long holiday weekend, we had no one to contact at 1030pm. My husband decided to call AMC for a recommendation on the next steps. They gave us the contact information for Pet Haven and within less than 15 minutes someone called us back to setup a time for them to come pickup Luna. Instead of taking our dead animal to a vet, this excellent service sent a compassionate gentleman to our home to collect the remains. The ashes and paw print were returned to us a week later. The paw prints my friend received were beyond appalling. They did not look remotely feline. There is no way that a cat's paws would be that distended. Further, when she was instructed to come back to them, for her refund, she was told to take them to court or to get their money back from another business. That's not how you conduct yourself. When it was time , After 16 years of being a part of my family my cat passed away . Pet Haven came within two hours of me calling . They picked up my Cat with such respect and sympathy . I received her ashes in a nice wooden box with a metal plaque to stick on it with her name in a nice velvet type bag and a leather book with her Paw Prints. This was received in about 10 days . This morning was a devastating one for myself and my family. Our beloved cat, Mildred passed away. Although, we knew it was coming we weren't as prepared as we hoped to be. I started searching online for a pet cemetery/crematory. It was a bit difficult to decide whom to trust with such a sensitive task but I finally decided to go ahead with "Pet Haven". I had called several places prior to calling Pet Haven but Luis (the gentleman who answered the phone) didn't seem robotic. He apologized for my loss and even mentioned having lost his own pet in the past. Even if this is something that he tells all his potential clients, it was still comforting to hear. Unfortunately, I wasn't at home when my cat passed so once I got home I called him again and he told me he was sending someone right over. After our conversation his assistant called me and told me he was on his way. His assistant came promptly to receive Mildred's remains. I forgot his name but he was also very nice. I paid the cremation services fees and in return he gave me a receipt. He told me that since they haven't been too busy this past week that hopefully I will be receiving Mildred's ashes within a week. Pet Haven charges $250 for small felines. This price includes pick-up of your pet, the cremation, urn with engraved tag and the shipping via UPS. I will update this review once I receive her remains. read more

Very poor communication. No form sent with details! I told the man on the phone , that I wanted to be present for the cremation. He said ok but never communicated this to anyone else. Apparently there are a few different people there and no one knows what's going on. . They picked up my pet and I never heard back for over a week. . Then they asked if I had a tracking number! For what?? You mean you already did the cremation and are mailing his ashes after I said I wanted to be present. Maybe if they had a professional form with the services they offer and the customer can choose exactly what they want in WRITING there wouldn't be any confusion. Only verbal communication. I think the owner is a few sandwiches short of a picnic and behaved poorly in client communication but in the end I got my creature's ashes in a tasteful little box. Unlike its Hartsdale competitor, which took a mere 48 hours to handle my cherished dog friend, Pet Haven took slightly more than a week with a cat. I have no idea if there's a difference in species. Pet Haven was the best way to handle the worst situation ever. My husband and I lost our little boy two weeks ago. He had cancer and we had no other choice but to put him to sleep. The way this company handled the scheduling of the actual euthanasia to the way they treated us when they arrived and performed the service was unbelievable. These people are saints. do not use this company. they are the worst human beings on the planet with absolutely zero customer service and they do not care about making things right when they screw up. i specifically requested to pick my kitty up after she was done being cremated, and they sent her back to me and i came home to find her in a box in the rain on my front doorstep. i had even texted to confirm that i would be picking her up -- and they said ok and then she arrived the next day which means they had LIED to me about what they had done. she was already in the mail when i texted to confirm! they also got her birthday wrong on the brass plate, the box they sent her in was a piece of crap not worth $5 and the paw prints they did were so awful, they looked like raccoon hands. when i called to get a refund for the box and pawprints, the man on the phone was very rude to me and told me i would have to take them to court to get my money back and then he hung up on me! do not use this company! do not use this company! they are awful people who should not be in the business of helping people in their time of need. read more

I called InstaVet to administer at-home euthanasia to my cat and they contract removal of remains and cremation with Pet Haven/Lacey Memorial. I was very impressed with the service. Quentin, the representative from Pet Haven, was waiting so that he was available immediately after the procedure ended. His manner was extremely compassionate and professional. He allowed me as much time as I needed and he explained each aspect of what he was doing (e.g. how he would transport the remains) so that I understood everything with minimal trauma. I was heartened to hear that my cat's remains would be scattered in a flower garden with the remains of other pets. His professionalism and warmth made an incredibly sad day a little easier. My dog Sasha passed away on August 30, 2018. We entrusted her care and cremation to Pet Haven/Lacey memorial. These people managed to send my dogs paw print ( all that we requested) to a wrong address. To date, I have never received the one momento of my dog that I requested and paid for. All they said was Sorry. No attempts to make the situation right or refund my money. My family and I mourn our dog still. But this company should be ashamed. I chose this company because it appeared to be the only one based in Manhattan. I called to make the arrangements for my pet to be collected from the hospital, and confirmed the next day that he had been picked up. I was told I would hear from their office in 3 days regarding payment and delivery. Three, four, then five days came and went, and I had heard nothing. So I called and was told it was going to take longer than expected because of bad weather in some location far out of Manhattan (!). I didn't realize it wasn't being performed locally, which was the whole reason I chose this company which appears to be based on the UES. I finally received the ashes via mail a few days later. All communication was with one guy via his cellphone (call and text)... it had the feel of a Craigslist transaction. When I received the ashes, I wondered if they were even my dog's or not (not that there is any way I could tell one way or the other). It's hard enough losing a beloved pet, but wondering where he is and the status of his cremation was not a good feeling. Better communication could have helped a lot. read more
