We met Dr. Jonathan Leshanski and Emily Leshanski- two extraordinarily caring people- under the worst possible circumstances: our 15-year-old cockapoo, Maggie, showed signs of declining health and diminished quality of life despite our best efforts and continued work with her primary veterinary care provider (a veterinary practice she had been going to for years). Our primary care provider had cautioned us (based on multiple diagnostic screenings and evaluations) that Maggie was showing signs of her age, and we made arrangements to keep her comfortable, mobile, and as independent as possible. Still, the inevitability of what was to come broke our hearts. Every second with Maggie, from the moment she came into our lives until those last difficult days, was a gift. We knew that, when the time came to make the heart-breaking decision to help ease her passing, we wanted Maggie to feel safe, comfortable, and surrounded by loved ones in an environment that was familiar to her: her home. Because it was an impossible request for our normal veterinary practice to accommodate at-home care, we sought the extraordinary: a veterinary practice that makes house calls- enter At Home Veterinary and Dr. Jonathan Leshanski. Our first interactions were with Emily in our initial consultation. Emily was nothing short of compassionate and understanding of Maggie's needs as well as incredibly responsive and, above all, kind. She answered all of the questions we had, and we discussed the options for at-home hospice assessment and other services offered by Dr. Leshanski. We discussed the process for making final arrangements and decided to wait and see how Maggie was doing. We were incredibly fortunate to enjoy a few more months of Maggie's love and remarkable company while steeling ourselves for the inevitable time when we would have to say goodbye. One day, after four more beautiful months of stolen kisses, short walks, affectionate nuzzles, and naptime cuddles (and lots and lots of love), Maggie showed us signs that she might have to leave us, soon. We were devastated, but we knew that we owed it to Maggie not to let her suffer; we also trusted that Dr. Leshanski would let us know if we were making the right choice. We reached out to Emily (who was just as patient, caring, and kind as ever) and arranged for an at-home visit with the understanding that it might include Dr. Leshanski's recommendation to help ease Maggie's pain and cross the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Leshanski was able to accommodate a visit with Maggie the following day, and we made the impossibly difficult decision to help Maggie find peace. Dr. Leshanski didn't just help Maggie live her last moments with the dignity and grace that had become characteristic of her time with us, he helped all of us confront our grief and gave us the time we needed to say our final goodbyes. Dr. Leshanski also monitored Maggie throughout the process to ensure that she was not in any pain or distress. Dr. Leshanski promised us that he would treat Maggie with the same respect and care as "one of his own", and offered his condolences as well as an invitation to reach out to his office for grief counseling services. Dr. Leshanski's practice is, indeed, extraordinary and we are grateful to Jonathan and Emily for all they have done for us and for our beloved Maggie. Maggie had to leave us that day, but there is no question that she will remain in our hearts and minds always. She touched the lives of so many with her unbridled love and affection, and we will forever be humbled by the experience of having gotten to know, care for, and love her. It was truly an honor to be loved back by such an amazing companion. We are absolutely resolved that seeking the services of At Home Veterinary, Dr. Jonathan Leshanski and Emily, was the best possible decision for us; their practice is unparalleled and unmatched in their compassion, professionalism, and genuine concern. Thank You!

We could not have been more happy with Dr. Leshanski and his wife's Emily undivided attention during this difficult time in our lives. Our sweet and loving senior kitty of almost 20 years had to be euthanized and it was the hardest decision we had to make. Emily listened to our situation and provided nothing but support and kindness. We were able to schedule a visit the next day, despite having a busy holiday schedule. Dr. L arrived on time, in full PPE, and very respectful of our home. He offered to take off this shoes and walked us through each and every step. Our baby girl passed away, peacefully, in the comfort of her own bed, her favorite blanket & toys, and with us by her side. We were all able to kiss her goodbye and provide to her as many kitty hugs as you needed. Dr. L did not rush us at all. He also provided us with some much needed coping tips & resources for everyone who our baby girl left behind (both two legged and four legged). We all miss our cat immensely and happy to know she crossed the rainbow bridge with ease and by us by her side. She was cremated at Pet Meadow with respect and dignity. Everything was returned to us as expected and more! We would highly recommend at home vet services!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I can not thank Dr. Leshanski and Emily enough for making an extremely painful and sad experience in our lives easier on us. Their kindness can't be understated. On January 2nd of this year, the time had come to put our 12 year old Bengal, Luna, to sleep after a battle with cancer. The worst of it lasted less a day because the doctor made the extra effort to come to us on a holiday weekend. Watching the last few hours of her life was horrible, and all we wanted was to comfort her with our love and presence and make sure we could end her pain as quickly as possible. Honestly, Dr. Leshanski came to our rescue and we will always be eternally grateful.

At 4:30am I knew it was the day that I would have to say goodbye to my sweet Chloe. I emailed At Home Veterinary early in the morning and got a reply shortly after even though is was before their listed business hours. Emily (who is absolutely lovely) told me that Dr. Leshanski had a full day but could come after his last appointment in the evening or if they had a cancellation. Later, Emily called to inform me there was a cancellation and gave me a window of 2 hours to expect him. Dr. Leshanski showed up in that time window and was immediately sympathetic to what I was going through. He explained everything that would happen in detail and made me feel very comfortable with the process. At one point, Chloe, who was too weak to walk by this time, managed to drag herself over to Dr. Leshanski to check him out. Then, after her inspection she laid an approving paw on his foot. It was as if she was telling me he was ok and thanking him for coming to help release her. This was both a heartbreaking and absolutely beautiful experience that I felt blessed to have with my beloved kitty. Thank you, Dr. Leshanski for giving me this comforting memory that I will always cherish. And thank you for treating Chloe as if she were your own and giving her the love and respect that she deserved.

She did not rush through and was gentle with our cat and with us. Paws at Peace offers some extras (a paw print and a bit of fur in a little jar) in addition to cremation options. I initially thought these things were silly but I am glad we got them. It was easy to make the arrangements. We called at 8 AM and got a same day appointment. We got a text of the expected time and an update when there was a very slight delay. We got a follow up text the next day, with an offer for grief support. This is a well run organization. They know what they are doing. Best of all, they did not cause any additional grief to what was already a very sad day.

Dr. Fragola so thoroughly and empathetically captured the roller coaster I had been on for the past five weeks, and I finally felt certain that it was the right time to end my cat Claudette's suffering. After submitting an online inquiry at night, I received a phone call less than twenty minutes later. From that first conversation through the thoughtful "how are you doing" follow-ups, Paws at Peace's compassion, understanding, and professionalism were authentic and unmistakable. Dr. Jennifer Lander came to our home the next day and could not have been kinder. She was patient, gentle, and genuinely interested in learning about Claudette and her life with us--later reflecting those details in a heartfelt sympathy card. The process was unrushed and deeply respectful. I will always remember the salmon paste she brought as a final treat; Claudette went crazy for it, and it's a fond last memory with our precious girl. This was the hardest moment my husband and I have faced together so far, but Paws at Peace made an unfathomable experience as peaceful as it could possibly be. I am deeply thankful for their care and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Hamish is our beloved almost 16 year old dog who had been increasingly in pain and panting, showing signs of dementia, and losing the ability to get up off the floor without assistance. Making the decision to put him to sleep was so very difficult. We were so relieved to find a vet who could provide a relaxing outdoor setting without the stress of a traditional veterinary hospital. Tender Comforts In home Pet Euthanasia is set on a farm in the country, so, on a plush blanket laid on grass and clover, underneath an oak tree, with a picnic table and benches available, beloved Hamish was able to gently leave behind his pain and anxiety with the help of Dr. Craig Little and Nurse Cindy. They explained everything that was going to take place and chatted with us which helped us relax. And of course they handled Hamish gently and compassionately. I was able to sit on the grass right next to Hamish and pet him constantly throughout the procedure. They explained some things along the way which was helpful. I remember Dr. Little reaching across Hamish with his stethscope to listen to his heartbeat, and gently indicating to me that he was gone. We were not rushed away; I was able to continue petting and talking to Hamish as long as I wanted to. My husband and I, as well as Hamish, were treated with great respect. Before we left, there were hugs all around. I noticed that when we left, Cindy got on the ground with Hamish and continued to pet and care for him. So for Hamish, it was a day that began with a breakfast of brownies, ham and cereal, which was followed by a nice ride in the car to Readington, where he got out onto a grassy field with a cozy blanket waiting for him to rest upon, and friendly people waiting to help him. Yes we are sad, and yes, we miss him, but the quality of care we received from Tender Comforts In home Pet Euthanasia definitely has helped us get through it. I should also mention that Dr. Little's wife Susie was our first contact with Tender Comforts In home Pet Euthanasia. She set up our appointment, and facilitated changing the times when we requested it. She was very compassionate! I also need to mention that we were given a sympathy card with wild flower seeds and a pamphlet on coping on the loss of a companion animal. I would not hesitate to use this service again, and highly recommend them to anyone who needs it for their pet. This is a tremendous resource!

I took my dog to AMC's emergency room early morning on Feb 27, 2026 because he was coughing and his breathing was very rapid and my cardiologist's office was closed. The first (sales) man told me the testing/treatment would be $10-12K. I refused. He gave up on me.The second (sales) man came in and raised it to $20K. Both were insistent that I make a decision quickly, saying my dog might otherwise die overnight. I turned him down as well. In my heart, I felt it was best to take my dog home and not ply him with more drugs and tests. AMC didn't provide any care except for an oxygen tent, and a whole lot of meds, yet charged me $1,800. Mostly AMC just argued with me. This is not my first experience with AMC. On an earlier emergency visit, the same thing happened. The (sales) woman quoted around $3K and when I balked, she brought the cost down significantly. My dog did pass away several hours after I brought him home Feb 27. My loss is unbelievably painful but I know I did the right thing by him -- let him go peacefully at home without the poking and prodding and meds that he would have to endure at AMC overnight. He was not going to live much longer anyway. At that point, I just let nature takes its course and avoided being hoodwinked by robber bandits. Then there was the recent case of a woman I know who was taking her dog to AMC for heart disease treatment. At the last appointment, the vet (salesman) said he had noticed a gallbladder issue. He said the dog would need surgery immediately -- that day -- and quoted her an astounding $26,000. She agreed. What was she to do? The surgery was performed, and her dog died 3 hours later. It is important that these stories of AMC's horrendous pressure and overcharging get around. And you call AMC "non-profit"? I will do everything I can to spread the word. You have no honor. I intensely dislike AMC. 2025: Insane markups for meds that you can easily order online or have at home if just presented with the options. +$249% markup in my case!!!!
