She allowed me to have many more years (he lived for 20) with my beloved furry companion. Now many years later she has helped me once again with a dog I inherited named Luna. She is a 7 yr old Chihuahua mix who suddenly started to suffer seizures, and became very wobbly and twitchy. Within the first couple of days the symptoms appeared we brought her to 2 different vet practices. They both drew the same conclusions of neurological issues (after ruling out toxins, injury, and tick borne diseases), but could not give a definitive answer without pricey diagnostics. So we started to medicate for one possible issue at a time to see which one would work (or not work) so we could rule out as we went along. In the meantime I contacted Liz looking for some guidance. I had a conversation explaining symptoms as well as sending her short videos during different activities. Immediately she recognized the involuntary movements, Luna was most likely suffering from cerebella ataxia. This made total sense to me as I have worked with cats that lived with feline cerebellar hypoplasia. Liz gave me a list of herbals for specific symptoms. Knowing I have some experience with natural medicines, she told me to "play with them" until I hit the right combination. I will not lie, I was reluctant to stop Luna's prescription from the vet as the pills seemed to be working; even though it was explained to me how the side effects may be preventing her from improving to the full extent. Then it happened, I accidentally dosed Luna twice one evening with her prescription meds. Luckily there was no harm done, but it was scary...and just the catalyst I needed to make the switch. Even though the first 2 nights she seemed to regress, I trust Liz. I told myself what I always told my customers, give it time. By the end of the 1st week, I started to see improvement. Over the past month I have tweaked her herbals (sometimes accidentally), and she is a completely different dog. She has not had a seiziure, nor does she twitch or wobble like she did a few weeks ago. She is now capable of eating, playing, walking on a leash and going to the bathroom like she did before the big seizures occurred and major symptoms appeared. Liz worked her magic once again...I used to trust Liz, now I have straight up faith in her!

In-home euthanasia was easily the best option for me, as Mochi never liked going to the vet so there was no way I would make that his last moment. I also love that end-to-end services are offered, which reinforces the thought and care they put into their practice. The plaster paw print, fur clippings in the glass vial, the sympathy card with forget-me-not seeds, and also the donation in Mochi's name to PAWS NY are all so treasured, and the aquamation service (via Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation) was also top notch. I have considered their grief counseling services as well but am still working through a lot of life adjustments without Mochi. We knew that we wanted to have her cremated as we had done we other pets that had passed through the years. We had dealt with another crematory in the past through our vet(s) and were nt happy with the recent reviews that they'd been getting. After some research we came upon your crematory and were happy with what we were reading about other people's experiences. We called that morning and spoke to Marisol who was very sympathetic, informative, and respectful. She gave us an appointment right away. We drove to them in Secaucus from Brooklyn and when we arrived Marisol met us at the door. She and Mariah were very polite, understanding, and accommodating. They took our Oreo and placed her on a bed surrounded by flowers and gave us some time alone to say our goodbyes. Marisol then waked us through the cremation process and showed us where it would be done and guaranteed us that it would only be Oreo's ashes that we would be receiving. We were given the opportunity to be present for Oreo's cremation. Ultimately Oreo's ashes were returned to us in less than 2 hours and were were able to bring her back home with us same day. They made this sad morning easier to get through. Along with Oreo's ashes we received a beautiful wooden box to keep her in with an engraved brass pate attached, a certificate allowing us to travel with her ashes, a wooden beaded bracelet, her paw print in clay with 2 gems attached, a stand for her paw print, a rose that lights up, and a notebook with the Rainbow Bridge poem on the cover. We were overwhelmed by all that we were given and the wonderful service that we were provided by Marisol and Mariah. We highly recommend Pet Rest in Peace to any loving pet owner.

So besides needing eye drops for glaucoma and a cataract she required Prednisone. Well we all see these commercials for wonder drugs ( the wonder is why we take them with all the side effects) so even though the Prednisone gave my girl relief it slowly started to effect other systems. Last week in what appeared to be overnight she slowly stopped eating but only drank. That was a red flag. Took her to an emergency facility which was a nightmare. Four hours sitting around waiting for some diagnosis. Every so often someone would come out and give some empty info. Finally a vet came out and provided me with a 3 page plan with an estimate that sent me to the cardiologist. This where Zen Dog comes in. Based on the diagnosis and the plan with no light at the end we felt the best most humane course of action was to euthanize. Spoke with Dr. Ray., he could not have been more understanding and compassionate. He showed up at the house took the time to explain the process. Once comfortable with what was going to happen he started. Dr Ray gave us time to be with her and comfort her until the end. It was a very tough thing to deal with but she went with family around in her home and peacefully. If anyone who reads this is at that point with their beloved pet, Zen Dog is in my opinion a great comforting option

We could have taken him back to the vet and done it in a clinical setting, but we chose to look into in-home euthenasia. Choosing to go with Dr. Cory was definitely the best decision we ever made. I spoke to many other bigger companies that provide the same service, and what I found was that I was either speaking with a sales person or it was nearly impossible to get the information I needed. When you call Dr. Cory, she either picks up or sends you a text but always corresponds with the information you need. I appreciated that very much, it immediately gave me a vote of confidence. She showed up on time as agreed, prepared with everything she needed neatly in a docor's bag. Her presence the entire time was calm, soothing, professional, and extraordinarily polite. She possessed the compassion and yet the sensitivity to give us our time and space when appropriate. Once Teddy was asleep, we all got to pet him and give him all of our last love. While in my mother's arms, Teddy left the world for better dreams and pastures. In-home euthenasia was definitely the right choice for us, especially because we had decided to end his suffering before the worst of it could unfold. After having been fortunate enough to have gone through the experience with Dr. Cory, I personally cannot imagine how anyone else on planet Earth could be a better choice. She made the whole thing so gentle and I rushed. Sat with us and Cali and our other dog. We have done at home euthanasia before but this was far different. So much more personal and gentle. I would definitely recommend her if you need her services.
