I wish I could leave zero stars. Words cannot begin to describe how upset I am for my family. My parents' dog passed away last week in their home. We were trying to find someone to come retrieve her for end of life services. I came across Compassionate Care Pet Aquamation Inc and spoke with Jim about their options on what to do with their beloved Skye. My mom selected the urn she wanted and the package for her paw print. She went today to pick up Skye's remains along with her paw print. To her surprise, they never made her paw print! My mom is completely beside herself. And I am feeling so guilty because I found these people. We have paw prints of all of dogs that have passed away. And now they don't have Skye's. The best part is, they asked her if she put her request in writing. Which she did, and she had proof of that. Not that anything could bring sweet Skye back, but offering a piece of jewelry for her ashes is less than accommodating. I would NEVER recommend this company. UPDATE: Before posting his reply Alan asked me to update or remove my review, but time got away from me. I do want to point out that his "version" is not necessarily the whole truth. As I stated before, when my mom arrived at their facility to retrieve Skye's remains...they neglected to do her paw print impression like she requested. Their immediate reaction was to offer her a piece of jewelry for her ashes. She denied that because she wanted to keep all her ashes together. They let her walk out all distraught. It wasn't until hours later when I called the facility that then they offered a refund. read more

Despite this very sad situation, we are so grateful we went to Alan with Compassionate Care. We never heard of aquamation before until a good friend told us about it, and we are so happy we chose this process and company. It's much better for the earth than traditional fire cremation. We trusted Alan with our beloved tuxedo cat of 12 years. He walked us through the process on the phone, told us how pick up would work, and gave us options we did not know we had. You definitely have to call and set up an appointment beforehand, but compared to other pet cremation companies we spoke to, Alan was amazing. There are drop off and mailing options, but we decided to pick up our cat's ashes at their facility. It was clean and clearly taken care of. Alan was there to greet us and so generous with his time and patience. They have a process to ensure that your pet's ashes are just their own, which we appreciate and can attest to after seeing the facility. My Shonna passed on 6/21/22. Losing her has been total devastation. To compound my heartache, the crematory I was going to use couldn't guarantee that Shonna could be cremated that weekend which meant her body would have to be kept frozen until the following week. I was inconsolable so my husband made some calls and he connected with Alan. I never heard of Aquamation before but my husband told me Alan could help us right away so I called him. The genuine compassion Alan gave to me when I felt completely helpless is something I will always be grateful for. Alan put my mind at ease and told me he would take care of all the details with the Animal Hospital in picking up Shonna. Alan was so detailed in his explanation of the Aquamation process, I had absolutely no questions at all to ask him where at the beginning of our conversation I had a whole list!! I hung up in tears because I knew Shonna, even in death, would be taken care of with love and dignity! Alan also gave me his cell phone number so I could call him at any time if I needed to. Jim, who works alongside Alan, called me once Shonna was at their facility to let me know that all went smoothly and she was now safe and in their care. I made an appointment to see Shonna the day before the Aquamation was to take place. Alan greeted my husband and I right away and gave us a tour of the facility. It is huge and immaculate! I was extremely overwhelmed by the time and attention given to us. There was no watching the clock. Shonna was placed in a little bed, wrapped in the little pink towel she would always lay on. Alan told us we could spend as much time as we needed to be with her which meant the world to me. I left with immense peace. Compassionate Care is not just a business to Alan and Jim. They put their hearts into giving families some closure needed to get through the tremendous loss, they are truly wonderful people. If I could give 5+++++ stars I would. My dog and best friend Chico passed away on May 24 and in the early morning hours while I was holding him and letting him know it was OK to go and walk over the rainbow bridge, I went online to find a place that could help me with his passing. I found Compassionate Care Aqua Crematorium in Oceanside, New York. I messaged them and within a few minutes I got a response at about 4:35 AM in the morning. Alan who is one of the owners called me and walked me through the way my pet and best friend would be cremated. He was empathetic, compassionate, explanatory and was very understanding of my pain during this time. I wanted to have a place for my boy to go once he passed later that morning and Alan made it so easy for me. I also wanted to have his ashes so that I could leave that Saturday morning on a trip that we had had planned, so that I could spread Chico's ashes at his favorite park. Alan made that happen both he and Jim were amazing and they helped me pick out the most beautiful wooden urn and they kept me informed every step of the way and accommodated me during such a really hard time. I felt such a sense of peace having my boy back. I keep his urn on my nightstand and kiss it every morning and every night. Loosing a animal is a hard thing to go through. The owner walked me and my wife through the situation very professionally and let us know everything about the next steps of taking our animal through the process. He resembles Robert England which we joked about and was a very compassionate man. He even went so much as telling us a story about why he started this business. He had a Dog which he loved very much that passed away. He took it to get cremated and the place did a generic thank you card with no compassion about the animal. He started the business to make sure people loosing a animal will feel more relieved about what they are going through. Nice compassionate man explains everything in the process. We were in a tough situation where our cat went downhill quickly, then seemed better, and then went downhill again. We were calling multiple places trying to find somewhere that could come today, including Compassionate Care. They were accommodating and tried to help us, but they didn't have anything today so we used another service. When they texted us back and we told them that we had just put our cat down using another company, they gave us a hard time about not letting them know (we hadn't even booked anything, just talked about a possible slot for tomorrow). No "I'm sorry" or anything kind. We were and are heartbroken and found this extremely insensitive. I really hope they don't treat others this way, but I imagine they must since I'm sure many other people also have to call multiple euthanasia services and are too stressed and upset to call every place back to let them know they won't need their services. read more
