I have been trying to book a home visit with The Venturing Vet for two weeks or more. Her office phone advises the caller not to leave a message, but to text. So I did - and have not received a reply. I have emailed the office as well -- and there has not been a reply. I realize that the practice may be a busy one, but fhe favor of a reply would be much appreciated. read more

My dog Ginger just spent the day with Dr Herzog and Nicole and couldn't be happier. They treated my puppy with great care and attention to detail. She's a rescue and wasn't a fan of the vet from past experiences. She did great with a more personal private setting. My girl had her spay and there was no rushing her out, just the opposite. I knew she was in great hands and loved the fact that the mobile unit was close by. She made sure I was clear on the post op directions pain meds and preventatives. I'm so happy to have used the Venturing Vet. Ginger and I will be back soon. read more

Our cats, Bernie and Lola, are true scaredy-cats when it comes travel and vet care, so having Dr. Herzog and her assistant Nicole come to our house was a perfect solution. They were so patient and caring. They took time to perform thorough exams, gave appropriate vaccines, took samples and even gave them a manicure! We are very happy to have met Marisa and Nicole and will call on them for all of our pet care needs. Highly recommended. read more

Dr Herzog & Nicole are a great team. They were both so warm, open & patient with my dog, Butters and I. Dr Herzog did a challenging procedure on Butters. She was thorough and gentle. I appreciate that she explained everything to me & gave me information that helped me understand my dog's diabetes better for the future. The first time I called they were fully booked but Dr Herzog called just to let me know. So thoughtful and efficient. Their mobile clinic was pristine & organized. I left feeling well taken care of and she followed up with an email to check up on Butters. Thank you, Dr. Herzog & Nicole! Side note: They do house calls but you also have the option of going to their mobile sight and save the house call fee. read more

This is the best pet service ever! Dr Herzog and Nicole come to you and examine your pets in your own home. I have three cats, and trying to get them into crates,And into the car, and listening to them wail all the way to the vet was a nightmare. My pets had a thorough exam, and vaccinations in a much less stressful environment. It was easier on them, and certainly easier on me. These ladies are terrific, and clearly love what they are doing. I'm happy and relieved that my pets were so well taken care of. This is a wonderful alternative for pet owners who can't get to the vet, or especially cat owners, who know how stressful transporting even one cat can be. read more

Dr. Herzog and Nicole are the most amazing and loving Vet & Technician we've ever met. When Dr. Herzog left her previous practice, I had to chase her down because I could not see us finding a better vet. From the first time Abby (my 80lb shepherd/husky) and I came into to see Dr. Herzog, we adored her. While Abby is still very much afraid of the vet, Nicole is so sweet to her and goes out of her way to make her as comfortable and calm as she can be. I am a pet parent who worries about the smallest things, and they truly go out of their way to assure me that everything is ok without breaking the bank. Many times, I am ready to do every test and medicine under the moon to ensure that Abby is always safe but Dr. Herzog never takes advantage and only does the testing that is necessary while at the same time ensuring Abby is in the best care. Dr. Herzog and Nicole are always happy to accommodate my busy schedule and always happy to answer my questions when I am unable to see them. I've recommended The Venturing Vet to every single one of my fellow pet parents and will continue to do so. It is rare to see two people who truly care for the well being of their pet patients. Abby and I adore you both! read more

Dr Herzog AKA The Venturing Vet is literally the best !! Her care is very personal, very professional and our precious little long-haired persian, Pepé, adores her! Since discovering this service, i cannot imagine taking any of our cats to a vet where they have to stress out. The home visit alternative is sooo much better. Her van/RV/truck concept is very clean and organized, and fully equipped for personalized visits - all i do is bring my cat in a carrier to the vehicle parked outside my house, and Dr. Herzog and her wonderful assistant, take over. We discuss all assessments and options, and treatments in the vehicle together with my cat, just as you would do in a private room at a vet's office. Then i leave while they examine, test and treat. The doctor updates me via text on status etc, and will even ask questions before proceeding with any developments during the appointment, all of this while i'm in the house only a few feet away. It's genius! Pricing is comparable to actual vet visits, but really, can you put a price on this type of care?? I would give 10 stars if i could!! read more

First of all I would not say mobile vet is a luxury. I had my dogs (my companion, my support, my healing souls) and of course my pets and part of the deal for giving you so much, when they need care I really try to do my best but not beyond my means. The fact is for them going to a place that smells, sounds and looks full of fearfulness obviously will affect them, including increasing their body temperature, so if they are ill nothing worst than that place. They will kiss you, asking you to leave. The experience with The Venturing Vet is not only one that makes more sense but, the caring, dedication and knowledge have even given a few more months to my girl in who was very ill and at least for me the honoraries are extremely reasonable compared to Animal General in Edgewater that I took all my babies for 12 years same Vet and begged to please let me know if she ever left the place, but when my baby got cancer and the oncologist sent information to work with her nobody even care to tell me their Vet for 20 years left. Dr Herzog and Nicole were angels supporting and helped me immensely, and continue doing so with my boy. I only shared to show that it's important not only environment but they are THE BEST. This concept should continue as vet places are usually environments for humans not thinking about the animal's different skills that makes the suffer even more in such environments. Excuse the length and thank you for reading read more

Exceptional service! We have a rescue German Shepherd that has high anxiety and is extremely aggressive. This dog must be muzzled!!! I am incredibly grateful for the gentleness, patience and kindness Dr Marissa and Nicole showed our dog. They were truly amazing!!! Dr. Herzog and Nicole were soft spoken, gentle, and treated our girl with compassion. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience! Unfortunately our experience wasn't the best. We live at the Estuary. Before our dog passed away, we had Maritsa come here to see what could be done. I don't know who is writing those reviews but I'm getting to the point as we have had the best vets for our dog. My dog is on the floor, could not move anymore and the nurse is making jokes and laughing, while my wife is crying in the office, to be nice I was talking but found out completely out of ethics and disrespectful. The woman's underwear thong is coming out of her pants while lookin at my dog, we were disturbed what is wrong with this woman. She is very young so that explains why she couldn't explain our dogs possible issues in a few words as our vet with 30 years of experience explains it briefly and with COMPASSION. She wrote an email not acknowledging my wife's name but "hi". We found a different vet with 30 years of experience to come and help my dog passing, excellent woman, completely professional and straight to the point. I don't recommend them. Dan. read more

I highly recommend calling The Venturing Vet for your pet's next exam. My dog gets VERY stressed out around other dogs so veterinarian visits were tough. It was always such a stressful experience for both of us but since The Venturing Vet came to our house, I didn't have to worry about other dogs in the waiting room or getting her anxious during the car ride. She was SO much more relaxed during her exam today. read more

The Venturing Vet is a life saver. Marisa is a sweet angel. The dogs love her and she's been seeing them since they were born. I'd follow her anywhere. I've been to other vets but I've never felt as comfortable or trusted their opinion more than I do Marisa's. Highly recommend you make them the place to go if your pets need check ups or aren't doing well. read more

This is a an extremely important service for people who have elderly or skittish pets who are more comfortable in their own homes rather than being shipped out to a vets office. With no unfamiliar premises or animals my dog was able to be skillfully and gently treated by the doctor and her assistant. Pricing was consistent with other vet services, but the in home service was invaluable. read more

I met Dr. Herzog and Chris under terrible circumstances. Our family pet was dying and we reached the decision to help him pass peacefully. Our current vet would not do a home visit and we reached out to The Venturing Vet. Dr. Herzog responded to us immediately. When I reached out to her the next day because my dog had taken a bad turn, she fit us in for that evening. She immediately got on the floor and connected with my pup. She put me and my family immediately at ease and helped us let go of our beloved family member in a way that was peaceful and loving. She's caring and compassionate and you can see she loves animals. We were so grateful that such a difficult moment for us was made to feel peaceful. I cannot thank her enough. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would. read more

Looks like Jazzie has a new Vet! Our fur baby wouldn't put any weight on her hind leg and our regular vet didn't have any appointments available. After 15 years with an office-based vet whom I had grown disillusioned with, I saw the Venturing Vet van driving down the highway one day, and decided it was worth a try for my ancient cat. Now I'll never go back! It's not just the convenience of having Dr. Herzog come to my house instead of traumatizing my frail little old lady to take her to an office, although that is wonderful. It's that Dr. Herzog and her techs are the most amazing, kind, gentle and knowledgeable people I have met in animal care. I'm so thankful that fate put us on the same road because I can't imagine ever using a different vet again. read more

i have a 9 year old German Shepherd who needed to go to the vet for months but the whole car ride and adventure was more harm than good. He suffers from issues with his back legs and lately it has been worse. I reached out and these 2 lovely ladies answered the call. They showed up and i was asked to either bring him in the van or they can come in the house. Knowing how my dog is, i asked them to come in which made it a lot easier as it was his turf. They were soooooo kind, caring and loving. He gets very nervous right away and they noticed it and helped to calm him. I cannot say enough about how patient they were even when he was not cooperating! There was no rush or making him uncomfortable. I have never experienced this with a vet and probably the biggest reason for not going to a vet sooner. Most vets want to do a bunch of unnecessary things to raise the bill. They explained to me and asked what i though t before doing anything. There pricing is very comparable to going to a vets office without the hassle and aggravation to the pet. Wonderful experience!! Thank you ladies. Snickers is happy and hopefully the medication will help him read more

Love these ladies!! I have two pups, a 50lb mush and an 18lb "walking vet bill" (she is blind, has teeth problems, arthritis and a history of slipped disks). They took such good care of both of my dogs, explained every procedure and cost, and made sure I was 100% comfortable with everything they did...but more importantly made sure my dogs were as comfortable and happy as possible through regular exams and dental procedures. And I have to gush, my 18lb pup is now livelier and more active than she's been in years after revising arthritis meds and completing dental work! I would recommend them to anyone. (Added bonus is that I can work on my own small business until they show up and while they see my pups, not travel or waiting to see my the vet! They come one to you!) read more
