Rockland Aquarium

Nice selection of freshwater fish and great customer service! Prices are also fair…read more There's a great assortment of unique cichlids, Oscars, arrowannas and tropical fish. Plenty to choose from and the owner packs the fish well for the ride home. Oxygen and Prime added to the bags. If you have any problems with fish dying, try letting him know. I had a few pass away on me within a couple days and he happily replaced them for me. Most local fish stores charge two or three times as much as big chain stores, but prices here are surprisingly competitive. I'll be happy to return here!

Unfortunately, I've had a frustrating experience with Rockland Aquarium…read more I ordered a special color morph of Blood Parrot cichlid, prized for its brilliant yellow coloration. I'd wanted one for ages and was so excited when he arrived! The fish was healthy, robust, and had clearly traveled well. There was just one problem. He was orange. Not yellowish-orange, but bright, unmistakable Blood Parrot orange. So orange that once acclimated to my tank, I could barely distinguish him from the others! I sent a friendly email explaining the problem. The owner replied, "That's so weird. He was yellow when we caught and packed him. Please send pictures." I promptly sent photographs, including one of the fish still in his shipping bag. I find it difficult to believe this fish was ever yellow. Perhaps someone else's order was shipped to me by mistake. That is possible but I truly doubt this fish was ever yellow. Since then, I've sent three more emails, tried texting, and called a number with a full voicemail box. Nothing. Even the website's refund link leads to information associated with an apparel store. Returning a dress and resolving a problem with a live fish are hardly the same thing! I understand they may be busy caring for their fish, but customer service is part of running a business. I don't want to dispute the charge, but with the purchase price and shipping, I may have no choice. To be fair, the fish is beautiful, healthy, and thriving. I've named him Fraud, and the little booger is staying right where he is. I won't put him through another shipment, even if he has taken the place intended for my dream fish. It's a shame. I thought I'd found an affordable source for quality fish, and perhaps I have. But without reliable customer service, I can't recommend them or feel comfortable ordering again. Two stars, entirely for the healthy fish.

We purchased our pup from Just Pups in East Hanover, NJ (the day after Christmas). The same day we…read morepicked the dog up we brought him to our veteniarian. The dog had flees as well as Kennel Cough. We treated the dog with the appropriate medication. You would think they would take better care of the dogs with the money we are spending to purchase there. Our vet provided us with a certificate saying that the puppy we purchased was not fit for sale. Basically, there is a Lemon Law that protects the consumer. Similar to the car Lemon Law where you can demand that your vet bills are covered IF you report it to the store with 14 business days (not sure that is the exact amount of days) from purchase of the pet. Which we did. We also contactact the board of health to let them know the condition of our puppy who had just been purchased. We love our puppy and would not bring him back under the Lemon Law to get a full refund but the pet store is liable for all medical expenses incurred from buying a sick and flee infested puppy. The people in the store do seem to care about the animals and I believe it is more about the people who own the store(s) and their greed for profit instead of taking care of the dogs appropriately. I would recommend that anyone who is thinkng about purchasing a dog at one of these store that you must do your research and make sure the puppy is healthy. They will tell you that you have to bring the puppy to one of their vets but this is completely inaccurate if you take the pup to your vet of your choice within 14 days of purchase (under the Lemon Law). The store said a vet sees all the dogs at the store, however, I really question if this is true because why would they have not treated the flees or the Kennel Cough? Shame on you Just Pups Owner(s).

These people belong in JAIL. I posted a picture here of our certificate of unfitness from the vet,…read morebut it won't let me attach it to this post specifically. Basically, they sold us an INCREDIBLY sick dog that they were giving the wrong antibiotic to (per the vet's comments when I showed her what they sent us home with, which was in a bottle marked with a permanent marker, not a prescription bottle). If we hadn't of taken her when we did, she would have died. We inevitably gave our sweet golden to a friend, when we could no longer afford her exorbitant vet bills, because she is a vet and can treat her, and she has since become their best friend. Please please PLEASE head this warning and do your research. These are puppy mill puppies, that they sell for thousands of dollars. (Rogue was 1600) I will be pursuing legal action against the business and reporting them. Fortunately, I am a publicist, so I have access to the media and will use my job for good to get this awful, inhumane place shut down for good.
