This restaurant delivers a visually appealing Japanese dining experience with authentic decor that immediately catches your eye. The centerpiece of the establishment is a stunning large wooden counter that creates an unmistakably Japanese atmosphere - neat, orderly, and thoughtfully designed. However, the blaring pop music somewhat undermines the authentic ambiance, creating a disconnect between the visual elements and the auditory experience. Chef Chris stands out as a true highlight of the experience. His approach combines traditional techniques with creative twists, and his knowledge of Japanese cuisine is evident in every dish. Beyond his culinary skills, he brings a warm, engaging personality that enhances the overall dining experience. I ordered a well-rounded selection that showcased the restaurant's range: Little Onori - [Chef's creative interpretation was excellent]. Unagi Sushi - Perfectly prepared with the right balance of sweet and savory. Maguro Sushi - Fresh, high-quality tuna that melted in the mouth. Three Hand Roll Set - Great variety that allowed for exploring different flavors and textures. Each dish demonstrated careful attention to detail and quality ingredients. The large bottle of Asahi beer was the perfect complement to the meal, providing a crisp, clean palate cleanser between courses. This is the kind of establishment that makes you want to return. The combination of near-authentic ambiance, skilled and personable chef, and quality food creates a dining experience that goes beyond just a meal. The attention to presentation and the orderly, clean environment adds to the overall appeal. While the overall experience was positive, there are several considerations worth noting: Pricing: The establishment is on the pricier side, so it's more of a special occasion spot than an everyday dining option. Rice Quality: The sushi rice was a bit too soft, causing some pieces to fall apart while eating - an important technical aspect that could use refinement. Atmosphere: The loud pop music clashes with the authentic Japanese decor, detracting from what could otherwise be a more immersive dining experience. Would I recommend? Yes. The decor, customer service level, chef's personality, and creative approach make it worthwhile despite the higher price point and rice texture issues. Whether you're a Japanese cuisine enthusiast or someone looking to explore, this restaurant offers both deliciously prepared Japanese cuisine and creativity in a welcoming environment - just be prepared for the premium pricing. Perfect for: Date nights, food enthusiasts, anyone seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience read more

A Temecula Gem: Freshness and Perfection in Every Handroll! We were craving for simple sushi in town. I know Temecula doesn't have that many choices. But when i heard there is this new handroll sushi bar just opened, without waiting a second more, we went there right away! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is just right - simple yet elegant, with soft lighting and a quiet hum of happy eaters. It's the kind of place where you can really relax and enjoy your meal. But let's get to the good stuff: those handrolls and the Sashimi and Nigiri sushi. Seriously, the freshness and quality of the fish here are out of this world. Every piece just melts in your mouth, tasting like it was just pulled from the ocean. They clearly go all out to get the best ingredients. The nori is perfectly crisp, and the rice is seasoned just right - that ideal combo that makes a killer handroll. They are also well paired with most of the sakes, from Kikusui, Dassai 39, Hakkaisan and Hakutsuru! And it's not just the food. Even though this place is newly opened, the service is top-notch too. The staff are super attentive, really know their stuff, and genuinely seem excited about the menu. They're quick, efficient, and make you feel totally welcome, guiding you through the choices and making sure everything's perfect. They also serve set menu if you can't decide and want every piece of exotic fishes. Honestly, this Handroll Sushi bar isn't just dinner; it's an experience. From Tuna, Salmon, King Salmon, Halibut, Chutoro, Uni, and my all time favorite A5 Wagyu. Yumm! If you're looking for amazing sushi in Temecula - think incredible freshness, quality, fantastic service, and a beautifully chill atmosphere - you've gotta check this place out. Five stars, easy! read more

# Onori: Where Tradition Meets Innovation Temecula's dining scene has been elevated with the arrival of Onori, a stunning sushi destination that masterfully balances reverence for tradition with contemporary sophistication. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in an atmosphere that feels both timelessly authentic and refreshingly modern. The restaurant's design is nothing short of breathtaking--rich wood tones and beautiful natural textures create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and expansive. The vibrant energy is palpable, with warm lighting that illuminates stunning Japanese art and clean, modern lines that speak to meticulous attention to detail. What truly sets Onori apart is how seamlessly Chef Chris honors traditional Japanese culinary artistry while embracing innovation. Each dish arrives as a small work of art, with flavors that are both familiar, refreshingly pure, and delicately surprising. The fish quality is exceptional, sourced with obvious care and prepared with the kind of precision that reveals Chef Chris's deep respect for the craft. The service strikes that perfect balance of attentive without being intrusive, allowing diners to fully immerse themselves in the experience. Whether you're seated at the sushi bar watching the masters at work or nestled in one of the dining areas surrounded by the restaurant's warm wood tones and beautiful Japanese art, every seat offers its own unique perspective on this carefully curated experience. Onori isn't just a restaurant--it's a destination that elevates sushi from a meal to an experience. Temecula is fortunate to have such a thoughtful addition to its culinary landscape, one that honors the past while boldly embracing the future. read more

We stumbled upon this newly opened sushi gem in Temecula just last weekend during a spontaneous spa getaway -- and what an incredible surprise it was. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional and the interior felt like a serene, modern escape, filled with thoughtful touches that made the entire experience aesthetically beautiful. But it wasn't just the design -- the food was absolutely on point, reminding me of the quality I experienced back in Japan. Every piece of sushi was perfectly crafted, from the delicate marination to the ideal rice texture and balance. My personal favorite was the seabream sushi and hand roll, while my husband couldn't stop raving about their fresh Hokkaido uni. It's a true blessing to find a place like this in the middle of the desert -- we'll gladly make the drive back just to taste this kind of heaven again. Compliments to the chef for delivering such outstanding flavors; this place is a perfect date night destination. read more

Simply hidden from plain sight, nor is there a dedicated page to it, Kagé truly is breathtaking. You can park on the street or in the parking structure in Old Town Temecula. The cocktail menu also was impressive with their array of drinks. I was able to try their kaigun with a beautiful black sesame color. It was quite a sweet drink. To be adventurous, I tried their loud mouth soup - and oh my goodness. That was memorable. It tasted exactly like Asian soup that's left in the fridge with a cute, crisp wonton on top for decoration.
