We wanted something quick on a Sunday afternoon for dinner and this place is pretty close to the house. It's really kind of cute for a counter service, fast food place. I ordered the grilled chicken breast mini plate which comes with a scoop of white rice and macaroni salad. It was yummy. Macaroni salad here is so delicious! Hope you got the teriyaki chicken, which had the same sauce as my chicken breast but were cut up chicken thighs. I'm not going to lie - - I really wanted his after I ordered the healthier chicken breast. My son got the chicken katsu, which I tasted. It was also very good. This place is great for a fast meal that isn't a burger. It's much more like real food you might eat at home. The food is delicious and the price isn't bad.

I was curious about Ono Hawaiian BBQ. Knowing that Yelp friend, Tina H. and her family enjoyed going there, I asked her for a recommendation as to what we should order. Tina recommended the Hawaiian BBQ mix which basically is a sampler of some of their offerings. Our grandsons and their Dad were on board when asked if they wanted to try it. I had located an Ono's not too far from our hotel. However son-in-law found one that was even closer. So...that's where we went. This place has a fast food type set up. Order at the counter and they will call your number when the food is ready. Soda is self serve. Basically, not much in the way of ambiance. Upon arriving, we all noticed how new the place appeared to be. We were here for an early dinner. The man behind the counter was friendly. He also suggested we get the BBQ mix and said it was their most popular entree. Three of us ordered the BBQ mix which has kalbi, sliced beef and chicken. The other three ordered chicken meals. As for the food---I liked the BBQ chicken. It was very flavorful and moist. The sliced beef was good. However, the kalbi wasn't good at all. The piece I got was very tough with most of it being impossible to cut with a plastic knife. My husband, who also ordered this meal, agreed with me as did our grandson who got this meal. The three who got chicken liked their meals. One of the grandsons got the spicy chicken, another got the BBQ chicken while their Dad got baked chicken. I think that if this location is very new, perhaps over time, once they have their act together, the food should improve. Our grandsons and their Dad said they would want to go here again.

first and last time coming to this location, waited 35 min in the drive thru for burnt ribs... so disappointed!!

Came here a few days after the grand opening and the drive thru was unfortunately closed so we decided to pass. Stopped by on Saturday and the drive thru was finally open, yay. This day though, we decided to dine in. The worker was friendly and greeted us as we walked in. We looked over the menu and decided on two Aloha plates - one with chicken katsu and grilled lemon pepper. The second plate with just Kalua pork and both plates came with rice and salad. We ordered one combo and that included one large drink and one side of crab ragoons (3 per order) The dining area was packed and we were luckily able to grab a table as soon as it was cleared. Our number was called out about 20 minutes later and we picked up our food at the counter. The plates were loaded and heavy ya'll. They randomly gave us a free side of crab ragoons which we did not complain about as they were really good. The food was all delicious. The grilled chicken was juicy (not dry) and cooked well. The chicken katsu was crispy and the amount of breading on the chicken was perfect. The Kalua pork was seasoned well and it too was served hot. The dining area was kept clean and there was a worker cleaning up tables as soon as they cleared up. In total, paid $34 and it was a lot of food. Will be back!

On a lookout for delicious Hawaiian food?! You have found the place! Ono has all the Hawaiian favorites. I have been to many Ono locations before and today I was craving the island fire and mix plate. The island fire chicken was very impressive! Big chicken pieces and the sauce had the perfect amount of spice. The rice and macaroni salad were phenomenal with each chicken bite. You can never go wrong with a mix plate where you can taste a bit of everything. The customer service is excellent! Very clean and nicely decorated! I would highly recommend this place!

Came here on opening day and I must say, the food hits the spot. The order: combination & island fire chicken. The good: I think the Mac salad is under rated and it really compliments the spices from the island fire chicken. Island fire chicken is not too hot, but still flavorful. I had a combination sampler, which lets you try multiple options. Portions are sizable Rice is cooked perfect & is fluffy / soft The bad: not much, but I want more vegetables. No hawaiian desert options

    Coupon that is valid

Went in to use a buy one plate, get one free coupon. Frida flat out refused to honor the coupon.

Cockroach in food!!!! Worst experience and they did not even seem to do anything about it.

Bring on the BBQ and try a new to me location! What I ordered: - Baby Back Ribs: very delicious and tender - some of my favorite ribs recently - Green Chili Mac n Cheese: fairly average Mac n Cheese, and something I'd order again as it complimented the ribs - Cowboy Beans (Pinto): not a fan, and I should know better as team baked beans (skip next time) - Green Chili Corn Bread: pretty moist and a good flavor - green chili is a tasty addition - Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding : SKIP THIS ITEM - mushy and ended up putting in the bin I didn't eat all, and had as leftovers the next day. The ribs were surprisingly just as delightful as the first day! This order has intrigued me to take a trip to the establishment to see the ambiance of dining in, and the service the staff provides. Though, Uber Eats did make it convenient and they were exceptionally friendly dropping off. If you are in the mood for BBQ, I recommend Waldo's.

I don't think I've been so obsessed with a food item until now. Just thinking about it now has mouth is watering. The first time I visited was on July 4th, we got there right at opening and the line of service they have going was a well oiled machine. Their setup is a walk in, get in line and order almost similar to Subway, but better tasting. I got a side of Mac and cheese and cornbread (not pictured, I ate it too fast). It's self seating and they had a ton of options! The second time I visited I ordered at the to go window and got the baked potato again. The window service was fast and the wait wasn't long. They packaged up my food safely and I happily went on my way. I'm honestly looking forward to my next baked potato encounter at this location! Please give them a try, it's so stupidly good here. I can't wait to give their root beer float a try.

If you can't find a spot, there is plenty of free street parking and surface lots around. Ambiance (4.5/5): This is a good-looking BBQ joint. Spacious, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, clean, well-maintained, and it gives off a contemporary, country vibe. I sat at a booth. They also have free WiFi which is a nice touch. Service (4/5): You order at the counter, cafeteria-style. While there was a line, I got through it quickly. They had all of the items I wanted, and I didn't run into any issues. No complaints. Drinks (4/5): They have their own beer which is pretty cool. With that being said, I wasn't in the mood to drink so I got one of their homemade lemonades. Free refills. Food (3.5/5): I am most definitely a BBQ snob. I'm from Houston which has some of the best BBQ in the country. As a result, I have high standards. I went with the meat plate which comes with your choice of 2 meats, 1 side, and cornbread. Pickles, onions, several types of BBQ sauce (spicy, regular, and gold), and honey butter are available free of charge in the soft drinks area. I went with brisket, ribs, and mac and cheese. Out of the two meats, the brisket was my favorite. Fatty and moist, easy to cut, this is how you want your brisket. It's what Texas is known for and they do it well here. The ribs, while flavorful, with a nice marinade on them, were quite small. Especially for a BBQ joint. And the mac and cheese was solid though it didn't blow my socks off. An above average meal but relatively small portion size. Usually, at a BBQ spot, you leave stuffed. Here, you'll leave full. The best BBQ I've had in Phoenix is located in Gilbert... but it's not Joe's. That honor goes to Caldwell County BBQ. With that being said, still solid. And another nice thing is that if you come in on your actual birthday (you have to show them your ID), they will give you $15 off.
