We have a saltwater pool and as you know, does not play well with the metal rebar. Both times they have come out fast, with no fuss and fixed it. Joe the owner is friendly and has always answered my questions, and believe me when I say I've had many. It was a complete disaster from start to finish. * Property Damage: The crew did zero prep work to protect our property. They walked over crushed glass directly on our custom limestone stairs and pool stepping stones, causing permanent damage. * Incompetent Repairs: They retiled the hot tub without refilling and pressure-testing it to confirm if the leak was actually fixed. Unsurprisingly, it still leaks. When I raised this with the owner, Cris, his "solution" was telling us to pour Fix-A-Leak into the tub--and then told us to double the dose when his suggestion failed. * Unprofessional Workmanship: They forced an incorrect light into the socket and sealed it with epoxy. Our new repair crew had to use pliers and a shop vac just to undo the mess. The tile thinset used was applied so poorly that dark spots are now visible through our transparent tile, requiring a total replacement as it is a complete eyesore. We have had multiple reputable pool companies out since, and they ALL confirmed the tile job was incredibly sloppy, used the wrong grout, and looked a decade old. We are now spending an additional $10K to undo and redo Baird's work. Cris has expressed to us on a few different occasions that he is not willing to fix our spa, in our last email exchange he told me that, "he is not married to this spa." So much for those "Family Values, Trust and Respect" advertised on their website. Save your money and your property--do not hire this company.

Nick…read moreat NB Swimming Pools (not to be confused with NB Pools) was recommended to me by Kyle at Paradise Pool Plastering and I couldn't be more happy. Our pool sprung a leak in early December and we were losing at least 1" of water per day. That's a lot. I even got an email notice from the city about our water consumption. Nick came out and in relatively short order figured out where the leak was coming from, and NOT coming from. NOT is equally important. Through his underwater sound and dye he was positive it was in a return line on the outside wall near a corner of the pool. Our pool is built on the side of a hill so many of our water lines are outside the pool on the backside rather than our concrete. Sure enough, the leak was exactly where he expected, at a 40 or 90 degree turn in one particular return line. Nick's experience and instincts show. All of this was happening during our coldest temperatures in January and I had to keep the pool running which meant I also had to keep filling it. We put a temporary patch on the cracked PVC which held until the temperatures rose and then Nick repaired the line. Problem solved! If you have a pool leak, you know how expensive a repair can be but NB Swimming Pool's pricing is reasonable. And maybe more important is knowing you'll have someone competent and experienced working on your pool. I highly recommend Nick and NB Swimming Pools.
