I am so proud of how far Kona has come in her recent months with On Command. We started training at On Command when she was about 5 months. She had a slow start and we never thought we would get her to walk appropriately on the leash. She is very strong and a bad puller. My husband and I are runners and we thought we would never be able to take her on runs with us. Well, recently we started boarding Kona at On Command with play during the day and some training refreshers focused on leash pulling. It has worked wonders. When she comes home she is focused, very calm, and obedient. We went on a run this morning and other than initial pulling when we got started and a few stops to smell bushes, she never got more than a foot in front of me. I actually live about 30 seconds away from the on command on Moana, but unfortunately, they have a waiting list! So I called Sparks and they told me their manager would go ahead and call me back with an evaluation appointment. I waited the next day and did not hear from anyone so I decided to go ahead and call them when I got off work. The manager notified me that she had been super busy and she's sorry, which I can understand. They got an appointment for my puppy Louie the following Monday. Walked in and there were a few other dogs in there. Everything was very clean and well established. I just received a report card that was filled with wonderful things. If you're dog is uneasy and unsure like my puppy is they take the time to make sure their comfortable and going at their own pace! I am boarding him on April 30-May 2 so we will see how that goes! I absolutely love On Command! I haven't used them for boarding, but I used them for grooming for all four of my dogs, and they're absolutely great! The place is super clean, and all of the people that work there are super nice and friendly. All of my dogs come home looking great, and exhausted in a good way! The groomers are always sure to ask what kind of hair cut I'm looking for my furry kids, and they are always sure to listen to any health concerns I have. They are great about accommodating schedules, and they are always sure to call to confirm my appointments the day before. Every time I see in a dog in a training program, it looks wonderful, and I plan on enrolling my craziest dog in a class very soon. We take our "three pack" to on command and they absolutely love it. They start to get excited as soon as we turn on to Greg and are so worn out and happy when we pick them up. I like the fact that they do a behavioral eval before daycare, makes me feel more comfortable knowing that the dogs are screened prior to group play. On Command took over the spot that was Doggie Day Care on Double Diamond. I have been taking my two pooches to this day care for years. The new location is WAY more convenient for me and have seen good changes [seems more organized] since Barry's took over. I love the care and affection that Rachel shows my dogs. I can buy a 10 pack of half day day care... my dogs spend one afternoon a week there and come home happy and exhausted. My tips would be to more prominently display package info. I just learned about the ten pack deal just because I overheard another client talking about it. Also a thumbs up to the groomer. She did a great job. Rachel was sweet enough to sit with one of my more stress prone girls. :) My only complaint is that they have changed the kenneling policy. There is only a morning time for pick up. The location is easy to get to, there is a ton of parking and they do grooming on site too which is very convenient. I started training classes at the Sparks location for my two pups with LeAna earlier this year. She has made such a difference for my barky, overexcited Aussie! (My boys adore her, she takes the time to say hello and give belly rubs every time they have a class. First of all...I'd like to say I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I absolutely love the staff at On Command. My dog went in for a two week training and although it was hard to let him go that long, it was so worth it. He had an amazing trainer Courtney and all the techs were so patient with him and gave him so much love. They called me to give me updates and always called me back and answered my crazy questions when I was being a worried mom! I see such a growth in him and a whole new man! I know this journey is only beginning and we have a lot of in home training to continue but thank you to the team, especially Courtney for laying the foundation for success. If you want results, see Alex. I was experiencing an issue with my dog that I consider serious, as it was impacting our ability to bond and to live harmoniously. I had a short timeframe to solve the problem, as my dog was growing by leaps and bounds, making the problem more difficult to deal with. I consider myself an experienced dog owner and i couldn't solve this myself. I read for several hours per day on dog training techniques, I had a personal trainer come to my house twice, spoke to other trainers, and I joined groups online, but there was no improvement and I honestly felt hopeless. While On Command is an hour drive from my house, I used them many years ago and ended up with a well balanced and perfectly trained dog, so I decided to try again. I spent an hour in a 1:1 consultation with Alex and my dog, and he was able to identify a simple game plan that I could easily follow. Within 24 hours the problem resolved itself almost entirely. Alex asked a lot of questions, interacted with my dog, and was able to pinpoint what would work best for us. He didn't promise results, but I had confidence in him and his approach, and I couldn't be happier. I appreciate Alex more than I can express, and I would recommend him to anyone with a complex issue. Words can't express how appreciative I am, and so is my dog! read more

we paid over 800 dollars for training and our dogs didn't know anything after a week. We have yet to receive any refund. Don't recommend this place for any training Period!! We gave Barry ample opportunity to make things right and unfortunately he refused. I encourage everyone to research companies before spending a lot of money. I took our troublesome 14 year old dog for the first time to On Command, I was very worried because he has a bad reputation for getting groomed!! Well, that has all changed!! On Command KILLED OUR DOG! It will be a year ago this Nevada Day weekend that On Command's irresponisible proceedures and staff KILLED our beloved Airdale Terrior, Jackson. On Command allowed, "An older holdler" walk an airdale plus three other dogs simultaneously at 5:00 a.m., in the DARK, along side Longley Lane. Jackson became spooked and broke away from this person. He was HIT and KILLED on Rock Blvd. An employee of the Nv. Humane Society found him and took him into work and called us with the devistating news. By Nevada Law On Command is responsible for reimbursing us for the market value of an ACK Airdale $700. We have NEVER heard from them since our Oct. 31, 2011 request for settlement. RIP my four legged best friend. For those of you who did not know, my Family was blessed to have the companionship, love & loyalty of an outrageously intelligent Airedale Terrier named Jackson for the past three years. Unfortunately, Jackson passed away on Saturday after a traffic accident while in the care of a local kennel. This boy mended my back and opened my heart. He served as my silent therapist and played to my lack of patience. He let me feel like a kid and made me a better person. What more can the love and the life of a dog do for a person? I am sad, I am broken. I will miss being known as, "The Lady Who Walks The Airedale." read more

After a bad experience at Fantasia Pet Resort, I was relieved to use On Command. I appreciate the extensive questionnaire filled out online when enrolling my dog. She has a unique temperament and diet so seeing those areas addressed in enrollment assured me they take note and attention to my dog's needs. When I picked her up from a weekend stay, she didn't have tear stains and looked happy. When asked how she did, they could list traits specific to her (like she frequently flops on her back expecting belly rubs), which let me know they spent time with her. Barry and Tracy are such great people. On Command is the ONLY place to take your dogs for day care and boarding. I never worry about traveling knowing that they are taking care of our dogs. I've been bringing my dog Oakley for day care and training since I first moved to the area. I was impressed with the before, but recently I boarded Oakley with them when I traveled across the country for a wedding, and I am so happy with how they took care of my boy. Other kennels I've known have small spaces for the dogs and they get limited exercise and come back shell shocked. Not on command. They get the dogs plenty of exercise and fun, and Oakley had a great time and was worn out from all the time he spent playing while he was there. Can't say enough about on command. They treat your dog like their own, and the dogs always leave happy. I'm always comfortable leaving Oakley with them and that for me is priceless. read more

Let me start off by saying that we have owned dogs all of our lives and have used many boarding facilities and "hands down" On Command Boarding is far superior to the competition. We feel at ease when we bring our little Maddie there for a play day or an overnight stay. Our labradoodle immediately starts wagging her tail the minute she enters the immaculate lobby. "My 6/7month old puppy was so bad it was not enjoyable to have him. That shouldn't be what it's like to have a dog. Took Dexter to the 5 week beginners class. He is now 14 months old and he is amazing. He listens and respects myself and my fiancée. I realized the problem wasn't Dexter, it was us(his owners) because we didn't know how to train him, we never taught him to listen to us. He is a cuddle bug now and my protecter. We sent our dog to On Command for the week long boot camp. He was very well trained when we picked him up, though it was up to us to continue to reinforce the training. Now we send our dog to the day care at least once a week. He LOVES the place. The staff really seem to love him too, and always tell me about his day. The facility is super clean, and doesn't smell like a kennel at all. We've used the groomer once. They did a great job, without charging an arm and a leg. I have been going to On Command for a while now for my German Shepard Bear for boarding and training. The staff there treats Bear phenomenally. I trust them to take the beat care of him. Two people who really do a great job amongst others are Jeanette and Courtney. Jeanette welcomes you with a smile and has a great attitude while working with you and your animal. Courtney trained Bear and she was so professional and great at her job. You can see she takes pride in what she does and is always there to answer question. For several months I had been taking our black lab Luke to OC for 1/2 day daycare, at first their policy for 1/2 day was 6 hours, then it changed to 4 hours. That was o.k. as I worked close and the 4 hour time window was manageable. Now our offices have moved over to south of Reno and the facility on Greg St. is not convenient. When I talked to Traci about getting a refund of the $112.00 that was left on the 1/2 day daycare package, after she talked to Barry, I was told that they do not do refunds. She told me that she could change the daycare package to a credit on my account but I would be losing $30.00 because of the daycare package discount. Where is that even O.K., there is nothing posted or that I signed that said their was no refunds. Not the way to keep your clients happy and recommend them to many people, not anymore. read more

My German Shepherd sheds constantly and is difficult to brush. The grooming staff get all his extra fur out and he is so silky and soft when they are done. They like big dogs too which is not true for all groomers. It's a busy shop but it's always clean, everyone is friendly and they are always nice to him and myself. read more

I went through a couple of different training and daycare places before I went to On Command. I wish I had just gone here first. They are awesome. The training was great my dog is now well behaved, where before she would do it in training but not outside the class. Here they work with you a lot and make sure you and your dog understand before being sent on your way. I take my dog to daycare about once a week she is always exhausted after and I can tell she had a great time. My dog is always excited as soon as we pull up. I couldn't be happier with our experience at On Command in Sparks. Our dog, Ari, a large mastiff-mix recently adopted from a shelter, lacked basic skills and was at times aggressive towards people. It looked like she had a bleak future if she didn't get immediate help. Ari did the 21-day boot camp. When I called for reports, I was given information in a timely way. When I went to pick Ari up, she was looked healthy, happy, and was excited to see me. Her frightening behaviors were vastly improved. Liana did a stellar job training Ari while showering her with affection. My life is so much better I found On Command and when I brought Ari back, she couldn't wait to get in the door. Barry and his staff saved our dog's life. My Boston Terrier had gone off the deep end was was fighting due to fear based aggression. It is a long story but fifteen days of in house training taught my boy how to be a dog again. My French bulldog started 'doggie daycare' there and now he and my Boston are inseparable. On Command is truly a one stop shop. It is the ONLY place where I would board my dogs. We recently referred our friend, Larry, to On Command and he was able to leave his dogs for eighteen days while they went to Hawaii. Of course he called every day to check on his 'fur babies' but was so ecstatic upon his return that they were so well cared for. They truly know how to do it there.
