Made a visit to OMG Squee, a gluten-free Asian American Dessert Shop, serving Asian-inspired desserts, pastries, butter mochi donuts, taiyaki soft serve, and more made in-house, from scratch. I was craving Ube and might have gone a bit overboard on ordering dessert because they had so many Ube options. The building is colorful and decorated in bright pink with fun artwork and decor for an uplifting vibe. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube. I drank the ube milk tea the next day and it was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the beverage and would order it again. Overall, enjoyed my selections and will be back to try more dessert options and flavors from one of the most unique Asian dessert spots in Austin!

Came here for a sweat treat before heading to the airport! It's in an interesting spot, but there's a good amount of parking and outdoor seating (although the outdoor covered seating area by the entrance is a bit unpleasant....there was a smell?). Either way, this is a cute place with so many fun options and flavors! The matcha latte was good and perfect sweetness. The mochi donuts have good texture and the black sesame flavor was great! If I'm in the area again, I'll come back to try the other flavors!

I've wanted to check this place out ever since I saw it on queer eye a few years back, and it didn't disappoint! We visited during their lunar new year/6th anniversary party so it was quite busy, but we expected as much on a Saturday party day. My taiyaki sundae was tasty and exactly what I needed on a hot Austin afternoon. I love that you can swirl the flavors and choose a filling and topping to get a custom creation. Seating is very limited to their outdoor pseudo-enclosed front porch, but we ended up eating out sundaes while checking out the vendors outside. This place is so cute! I'll definitely be back.

I have been a fan of OMG Squee since seeing the Queer Eye episode in which Sarah is featured! Living in NH I was unable to sample the wares from her bakery. But then my husband and I decided to visit Austin in February 2026! I am so Excited! I bought so many different goodies, a sticker, a few t-shirts, and a waffle mix! Omg everything was so good! The place is adorable, clean, and so well stocked! Everyone is so friendly, and once I finally decided which milk tea and goodies I wanted they quickly filled my order! There is a lot of seating on the outside of the building as well as in the front porch area- sheltered from the weather. I wish we lived closer so I could go there weekly!!

Started following their IG for a bit. Headed up to Austin for the weekend. Cute little spot. So much to choose from. Rotating donut and macaron selections that are posted every 2 weeks. If you like butter mochi and macarons this is the place to go. GF as well. Staff was friendly. We ended up there twice.

I wish we could come here all the time. We come to OMG Squee 3-4 times a year since it's a hike from where we live. We came today for the mooncakes, and I'm so glad we didn't wait any longer to get these, because they're divine! So beautifully done. So many beautiful details, and you can tell the care they put into each cake. The mooncakes aren't too sweet, they are soft, they are delicious, and they are worth every penny! We also got my kiddo a taiyaki with Nutella, miso caramel soft serve, and Oreo (GF) dust. Perfection in every single bite. Every time, their taiyaki fills my gluten free heart with joy. It looks like they're in the middle of some renovations, and it shows! Small changes so far, but it looks like more is to come! Staff is always kind, and each time we're here we are quickly reminded why we love OMG Squee! Thank you for everything!

First of all, the shop was so cute and pink. And second of all, the donuts are soooooo cute!! I've never heard of "butter mochi" donuts before, only ever having regular Asian mochi donuts so this was definitely new and diff!! The texture was more pastry-doughy than the Asian ones. It wasn't overly sweet either. I couldn't really taste the Thai tea in mine unfortunately.. but it was cute! I'd love to try tbe taiyaki ice cream next time :)

Maybe I got the wrong thing but I ordered the Hong Kong Milk tea with boba and the soft serve ice cream. And the HK milk tea was wayyy too sweet and I didn't taste much of the tea. They told me the boba was freshly made but it's actually undercooked or don't cook it correctly bc it was still pretty hard on the inside. I ended up throwing it away. The soft serve was actually less sweet than the drink but it lacked flavor. I wouldn't come back bc although it's gluten-free, I'll pass on the overly sweet desserts. Not very healthy.

OMG -- I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. We've been coming here for over five years, and they are consistently outstanding. Their mochi donuts are always delicious, perfectly chewy, and absolutely addictive. This has become our go-to "special treat" spot anytime we're near the airport or want to bring something fun and unique to visiting guests. And the best part? OMG squee can really be a hit or a miss for me. For those who have never been this dessert shop changes their donut and ice cream flavors every two weeks. Some weeks are good, others not so much. Unfortunately this time was one of those not so good weeks. The owner is doing an adventure time themed set with four different character donuts and four inspired flavors. The only flavors that I liked were Lady lumps( the pink and green donut that is matcha, lemon, and lavender flavored), Rock N Roll Vamp( gray donut with red and Black sesame and raspberry flavored. Please bring this back), and unacceptably Lemon( the yellow donut with white cream which is a lemon sour cream cake flavor). The Chilli & buttered(blue and yellow) was a blueberry sweet corn with blue brown buttered glaze and tasted ok but the blueberry pieces baked into the donut gave it a weird texture. The adventure boy(white character donut black & white chocolate choc chip + cream cheese flavor) was kind of bland and a little underwhelming. The magic boy( yellow character donut maple bacon pancake flavored) had a very light maple flavor just tasted more like frosting on a mochi donut. The Gum queen( pink character donut which was bubblegum flavored) wasn't bad but after two or three bites it tasted like pepto bismol. Finally the A.I bestie( blue character donut that is tropical dreamsicle flavor) was a little too artificial tasting for me. Overall it's still a pretty good spot and the boba is good, this cycle was just a wash for me. Also keep in mind that there is not a lot of parking so you may need to park a little further out.

Hate to say it, but I found Omg Squee overrated! Pros: good location near ABP and a bunch of other stuff in East Austin. Also, lots of gluten free stuff! Cons: very small. No interior seating and limited seating out front. There is a shared outdoor space with a bike shop with picnic tables where you can sit. Also, parking is very limited, and street parking there is confusing. In general, the donut was very dense. The soft serve was good. Glad to have checked it out finally since it was on my list, but I most likely will not be coming back.

Who is crazy enough to wait in line while it's 100 degrees outside underneath a tailgating tent. This guy!!! My daughter wanted ice cream, so what did I do...stood in line in the heat. Can't tell you how good it felt when we made it to the half way point at the water station. Lol. Once we got inside, there was still a line but at least it was cooler. Once you make your way through the front, you get to rather choose a drink, soft serve ice cream, macarons or Ah-boong which is the fish-shaped waffle cone soft serve. I can't comment on the drinks cause I didn't order any but I can sure say a lot of people did order drinks. The soft serve was so good. The mixture of banana plus ube was so freaking delicious. Who would have thought banana and purple yam pairs well. It wasn't too sweet but packed enough flavor to keep you wanting more. My daughter had the strawberry milk and let's just say she quietly finished the whole cup by herself and only gave me a sample of it. That was enough to taste the freshness of the strawberry. Overall, pretty good soft serve. Service was a bit slow but I guess it's because they make the waffle cone fresh as you order. Place is definitely smaller than I imagine but cool vibe. read more

Ate so hard istg. Like I'm usually a gatekeeper to my core, but like I can't. Like I would feel so bad keeping this in, literally the best ice cream I've ever had. The donuts were ok? It's fine tho they weren't the main attraction. The fish cone tasted like a fortune cookie. The ice cream flavors my seem a little silly and weird but just get the swirl I promise they know what they are doing. read more

Kinda hard to locate the building but this gem is worth the hunt! I love the adorable decor inside and out - You can never go wrong with pink. Good choice y'all. And best of all the desserts match the cheek-pinching cute factor of the design choice. But the desserts don't just look awesome, they taste awesome too. My favorite was the taiyaki with soft serve. So yummy. And the real key to this girls heart: Gluten free! read more

My husband and I took an anniversary trip to Texas and saw this place recommended in a blog. As a a gluten free gal, let me just say this place ROCKED our socks! Been here twice now. It's always a wait which is a good thing right!? Ice creams always on point and even though you're waiting a little bit at least you know your taiyaki's are fresh! Definitely must be a stop by if you're wanting good ice cream. They do change flavors so I would double back and check what flavors they have before you expect something they no longer have. read more

If a unicorn could poop ice cream, this would be it. I had the ube and cereal milk which was really good. I couldn't get over how the cereal milk tasted like the milk after eating a bowl of fruit loops or Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Definitely hit a childhood nostalgia nerve there. The ube was great too. The portion is huge, so I asked for 1/2 serving. The inside feels as if I'm some kawaii teenage girl in Japan - there's lots of pink and I loved that the windows are so rainbowy. read more

Entire menu is gluten free GF, we ordered 6 different macaroon flavors and enjoyed every one~ the macaroon are not overly sweet and have no artificial taste, the best I've had in Austin! The price is good as well, I've seen many places charge 1.50-2.00 for macaroons that are factory made. If I remember correctly the average price per macaroon was around $1.75-$3 at here. $3 for the large heart shaped one which was special for valentines. read more

Absolutely mochi amazing donuts and macaroons. We were able to get a good parking spot up front but we went on a rainy weekday. The outdoor seating area is super cute as well. Parking could be an issue on the weekend when the lines are super long. Not going to lie, it's worth the wait. Highly recommend checking their Instagram because the post the weekly rotating donut flavors. read more

The opening of OMG Squee has truly been hell on my sugar levels, and I shudder to think what will happen when they expand their hours. First, the purely excellent: the cheesecakes are glorious, fluffy soufflés that are not too sweet, and especially good when they are still warm from the oven. (I did have one that seemed a little too cooked and I prefer the slightly jiggly-er, less cooked version) I also really enjoyed the Thai tea that was made using some very interesting and enjoyable vegan coconut condensed milk. The good but still needs a little work: I really enjoyed the Taiyaki both times I tried it and the merengue topping is an *inspired* touch, but the chocolate ice cream was a little grainy compared to the plain custard flavor. Twice the machine just hasn't been functioning or they've been out of cheesecakes (like I said, I've been going A L O T) which has been disappointing, but I'm hopeful as they are open longer those things will smooth out. I personally didn't think the macarons are very good and that is the only thing I would not recommend. Overall, I love this place although I wish they were slightly further from my house for health reasons read more

My friend bought a ube flavored Japanese style cheesecake for my birthday, and I am still thinking about it 7 months later. It is lightly sweet aka "not too sweet" with a unique texture characteristic of Japanese style cheesecake. We need more places like this in Austin, especially North Austin! I love that you're supporting a small business as well. My sister tried the regular flavored Japanese style cheesecake and Cereal Milk Soft Serve and ube soft serve and recommended it as well. read more

I surprised the kids with a trip to OMG SQUEE. It has been on my list for a while now so today was the perfect day to pop by and finally try a mochi donut. We tried the maple bacon and it was LOVELY. The kids got crème brûlée and fruity pebble macarons. I got a Thai Milk Tea and hubs got The Vietnamese Cold Brew. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly. The goodies were pricey in my opinion. It was good but based on the prices, we wouldn't return. It's just not budget friendly for a family of four. read more

Omg Squee? More like - OMG My New Favorite Ice Cream Place in town!!! The small batch ice cream here is so delicious, every flavor I have tried (matcha, strawberry, cereal milk and red velvet) have been amazing!!! Picky eaters shouldn't be scared, as A picky eater I have still loved more unique flavors like matcha. They give many option for toppings and fillings so there is something for everyone. Keep in mind FLAVORS ARE TEMPORARY and change every 2 weeks! I've ordered the taiyaki Sunday every time I go and it never fails to amaze me how delicious it is! The cone is so soft and yummy and the red bean paste filling is my favorite! The tea here is also great I've had a variety of flavors and it's always very light and not overly sweet. The shop is adorable and they are great at getting people served quickly, but make sure to come early if you want macarons, the cutest ones sell out the fastest! OMG Squee is undoubtedly the best new dessert place in Austin and worth every penny. You can't pass it up!! read more

Omg Squee is one of those places that you see on Instagram and you're scared to go because you think it might be just a overhyped mess...and you'll be let down. Since being in Self Isolation because of Corona, I have been able to splurge more on items I never did before. I always wanted to try Squee's Japanese Cheesecake. Also there was a sale going on! I must admit I was still kind of like $34 for a small cheesecake??? BUT FOR REAL... the cheesecake is worth the hype. My husband and I have tried this other famous Japanese Cheesecake place in Honolulu and he hated it... He tried the cheesecake from Squee and couldn't stop eating it! We ate the cheesecake in one day because it's that good!! Also got a Hong Kong milk tea. Very unique flavor. They sadly do not offer tapioca pearls in their boba )': OMG Squee has also been making adorable macarons sets that change weekly. Next thing I want to try. read more

I docked off 2 stars because once they run out of ingredients (which always happens noon onwards for some reasons & supposedly they close at 9pm), quality of the drinks just goes downhill. Just a tip never order anything with 1% milk, the matcha strawberry rose tasted like water. Had it before with oat milk and boba and it was awesome. This time it really felt like a completely different drink. Not in a good way. Lastly, I just have to say quality is inconsistent by the time it's past noontime. I don't know why. Do they change their recipes or proportions due to ingredient shortage? I know they're working on getting things together since they haven't opened on weekdays. I really hope they get better at this. read more

Giving it 5 stars for its delicious food! I went there for their Lunar New Year event. Since it was their grand reopening after their tv debut they were busy. Waited 3.5 hours and options were limited but everything we got was so good! I know that the wait time bothered people. Yes hours change, items run out, but if you follow their social media they let you know all of that. Please have some grace and understanding that bad reviews really hurt small businesses. Them being busy is a good thing! That means they get more revenue and can afford to hire more workers to help them and they can stay open longer. Wishing them all the success read more

I love their milk teas, mochi, and taiyaki (ice cream in a fish waffle cone) is delicious. I recommend going earlier in the day, and they tend to sell out of stuff by the late afternoon also be aware they have very little parking so you may have to circle to get a spot in front of their shop or park further away and walk there. The have vary unique flavors for their mochi donuts and soft soft serve which rotates every month, so I recommend checking out their IG to see what their current flavors are to see if any of then appeal to you. read more

This place is definitely up and coming. I think they have some kinks to work out, but I can see them doing really well especially when they expand their hours and square footage. My friend and I both got drinks and macarons. The macarons are amazing -- some of the best I've ever had. The dulce de leche one was my favorite. The drink was okay but I wouldn't get it again. I got the matcha with ube milk. The drink was pretty, but tasted more like milk than anything else. I didn't get much ube flavor at all and very light matcha flavor. OMG Squee is adorable--the concept, aesthetics, and people are so stinkin' cute and sweet! Grab a menu from the front and make sure you check the daily board to the left to make your decisions. The taiyaki itself was so good: crispy, fluffy, tasty (reminiscent of a Belgian waffle). Maybe I'm biased because I love waffles *shrug*. You can choose to fill the tail with either red bean or nutella. I chose matcha for my ice cream and while it was good, it wasn't very creamy and became more like chunky ice at the end. Still enjoyed it though. They'll sometimes have a vegan ice cream option too! There are several toppings you can choose from; I chose cookie dust (oreo dust) and ube jam (more of a paste consistency, which I really liked). Unfortunately, I didn't try a macaron or jiggly cheesecake (saving those for another visit!) Conclusion: Yes, 100% go to try something new and 'gram worthy, but also go in knowing they're still remodeling and figuring things out. This may mean that they run out of items/materials or there may be a wait. I LOVE taiyaki and Omg Squee has the best taiyaki I have been able to find in Austin!! It is the perfect texture and the custard filling is so delicious. I could eat these all day! The soft serve is really delicious too! I got the banana milk and ube swirl and both are so tasty. The ube is more subtle, I've tried it on its own as well and it's better that way in my opinion. The banana milk was tasty, but definitely overpowering with the ube. Their macrons are great too, especially the creme brûlée! read more

This place definitely lives up to the hype!! Went here on a weekend and although there was a bit of a rush the line moved quickly & our order came out fast too. My favorite was their Matcha with Ube Milk drink--it was literally amazing and you can taste the unique matcha and Ube flavor combo. Rumor has it that if you come on a Thursday the line is shorter! Location is a bit out but cute space. Limited menu and tan out by end of day so if you're going there on a mission for a specific item - go early. I personally am not a fan of the texture of the mochi donuts but the Creme brûlée macaroon was UNREAL! Soft serve ice cream looked amazing as well. Very cool vibe! read more

We just had such a fantastic experience - everything..the vibe..the red light fixtures and the color of the booths and the floor..the service - our server was great..loved their outfits..really had an old school little italy feel to it. The food was much better than I even anticipated - as a guy who grew up on NJ diner mozzarella sticks, I have a high bar for them and these were magnificent. And seriously...taking the "everything's bigger in Texas" slogan and applying them to mozzarella sticks?! top 10 achievements of the decade. The chicken parm was perfect - well seasoned, proper amount of crisp..the basil on top...the perfect browning of the cheese. Also the lasanga was excellent..and best part - the leftovers..took it home and the next two days put them in a small cast iron and re-heated them..and the magic was right there in my hill country kitchen! Lastly and certainly not least - the cannoli...just look at the photo below.. I'll say, yes, the place is pricey but you can really easily split these entrees and then it becomes cheaper than a jersey strip center Italian joint. I haven't stopped raving about Sammie's since I've been there, and I cannot wait to return, recommend it, and take friends and family that visit.

OMG Squee absolutely lives up to the hype! The macarons were beautiful, fresh, and full of flavor with the perfect texture crispy on the outside and soft and chewy in the center. We also tried the mochi donuts, and they were incredible! They had that amazing chewy texture that makes mochi donuts so special, and each flavor was delicious without being overly sweet. RUN.... Do not walk here! The BEST desserts, from the mochi donuts to the thayaki sundae, even the jiggly cheesecake, oh and the macaroons, and the drinks... every single item they make is fantastic! We've been some of their original customers from day 1 and it's been incredible watching their growth! They are a small business and definitely have encountered their challenges with growing during a pandemic, but the owners are the most genuinely kind and incredible people, and their desserts are amazing! Amazing service and delicious food. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind place for desserts in Austin, this is it. We had the red bean paste taiyaki with cereal milk ice cream and it was soooo good. But the Fruity Pebble-flavored macarons were even better. Everyone in there was so friendly and everything is gluten free, so no fear of cross-contamination if you're extra sensitive. read more
