The strawberry rose matcha drink was fabulous - not too sweet and refreshing. A needed balance because the donuts are so sweet (at least for me). They have that interesting texture, which was expected. The banana chocolate chip one was my favorite, the banana really came through. My favorite was their Matcha with Ube Milk drink--it was literally amazing and you can taste the unique matcha and Ube flavor combo. Five-stars! Five-stars! Five-stars! I don't usually crave sweet treats, as they are often too sweet or the portions are too large. I just wanted taiyaki with some bean paste, simple and sweet. They told me that they normally do not do just the taiyaki by itself, so I asked for the soft-serve on the side, but they said they didn't do that either. After I gave them my sad puppy dog eyes, the team at OMG squee was able to fulfill my simple request of just the taiyaki waffle filled with red bean paste. They are the best! All is right with the world. The world is a bit brighter for having OMG squee employees who can offer incredible service, giving me just what I want (a fish shaped waffle with some red bean paste without soft-serve). What a place to buy yummy treats! You can't go wrong with what you pick out. I never thought that I would like any of the flavors they offer when it comes to the donuts but I love them all! I've had the Chocolate Chai, Use OG, Mexican Vanilla and more. I like how for half a dozen you get 10% off and 15% off for a dozen. Mochi Donuts range from the same $3.50/ea to $3.95 and they are soft and chewy and not over powered with sugar like most donuts. I also love all the Macron flavors and I always have to get half a dozen at least. I have yet to order the soft serve but I have to leave me something to come back to of course. Like I saw on Queer Eye, I wish they would bring back the corgi treat or even stickers! They offer fun swag like shirts, tote bags and stickers. I've visited twice and there is always a long line but it goes fast. The only tough thing is that there is very limited parking. I've been lucky to find a spot both times I've visited but not sure where all the people came from, either they walked or found parking elsewhere. I can't recommend this place enough! A major plus is that if you can't eat all your treats in one day, they are good for another day or two. Maybe more but I eat all mine by then. the wait is insane, i really don't know why i did it. we waited an entire hour plus for this ice cream. At first we wanted to leave because of how long the line was but we decided it to give it 10 minutes. Then at some point we lost track of time and we were already too close to leave then. we waited 45 mins outside + 25ish inside. There was barely anything available, practically no donuts left. No boba at all. And only two of the 3 flavors. So crazy. Anyways we got the sundae, which is so cute. Just tried this place the other day with my partner and it's a bit strange, but still super cute and tasty! So the first thing that's strange is that it's on a bit of a weird road and only has one row of parking at the front. The next strange thing is that they were out of a LOT of stuff, and from looking at other photos and reviews, it looks like they're out of stuff a lot of the time. If you can get past those few things, the interior itself is super cute! Lots of lucky cat decor and the most adorable merchandise! Both me and my partner got the same flavor ice cream: a swirl of the only two flavors they had; vanilla and ube. Then we both got nutella filling and I got oreo toppings and my partner got dulce de leche. The frozen treat was very yummy, but I regret getting the orea crumbs because they were messy. Overall, the food itself is cute and yummy, I definitely wanna go back sometime to potentially try other flavors and their donuts. read more

So it's covid times and a lot of people are taking precautions. I really appreciate that OMGsquee has a walk up service window or you can order online and have a little spot designated for you to pick up your goodies. *parking is minimal* Walking up we were greeted and needed a moment to look over the menu. Once getting past the perfect combination of creamy sweet heaven the texture of this boba was so bouncy, chewy and perfectly sweet. I have enjoyed many boba teas from other establishments, so I feel like I'm a pretty hard critic, but this drink has me wanting to go back right away. Don't get me wrong, it was okay, but I wouldn't stand outside in that heat again for it. The soft serve flavor I tried was Cereal Milk, it was only ok, I wouldn't rave about it. We were excited to try this place as we love Japanese sweets. We've lived in SF and visited all over Japan and the quality here just doesn't compare. Mochi donut was really disappointing; it was supposedly fresh from same day, but had the worst texture and was way too gummy. I love mochi donuts, but they are supposed to have bounce and be more textured, not gum up in your mouth. Also the decoration was pikachu, which could have been nice, but looked so haphazard. Not what a professional Japanese shop should sell. Stuffed Taiyaki was kind of gross. We bought two different flavors. The crust from the waffle mold was fine, but the filling was slimy and cheap tasting. Wait was 25 minutes and there were only 2 people in front of us. Its small, so you order at the counter and take your food to-go, or dine out on their small, yet nice covered patio. It does get busy so there is a roped off area to support a line that was forming. I only give it 3 stars, as they were out of a lot of stuff, and it was not even mid-day yet. They had no mochi donuts, no boba , and macaroons were sparse, although they did keep refilling the tray. My advice is to go early, beat the line, and if there is something you are craving, call ahead to ensure they have it. read more

The two staffers we encountered were friendly and suggested to call in to reserve or order ahead for next time. They had many other gf options which is only what the wife will order. We left and started sipping our drinks and noticed the tapioca pearls were barely cooked as if nibbling on pencil top erasers. Mine was a bit sweeter than I had hoped even after ordering "not so sweet", but this is my first time so I dont know what their range of sweet is. As I write this review my family and I are tasting the mochi donuts. Of an assortment box, my sister and I had two of which we had no idea what the flavor were. The texture was perfect though. They were fluffy and mochi mushy. If we ever find ourselves in this part of town we'd like to update this review for the cheesecake. I live an hour from Austin and when I am there I really try to eat at local mom and pop restaurants and food trucks etc. I usually do research a head of time so I get to experience as much as possible while I am there. I am also Japanese American from California and really try to find the best Asian food in my area! I came upon this place and happened to be in Austin with my son for his birthday so after lunch we swung by and wow! I can only say how blown away by their Taiyaki sundae. I grew up eating some of the best Asian food in So Cal so I was spoiled. I having been to Japan and growing up in a Japanese American household, Japanese tend to prefer deserts that are not overly sweet. I had the strawberry milk ice cream and custard filled Taiyaki. This ice cream was so creamy and smooth, the strawberry was gently sweet but not tart similar to what I had in Japan. The Taiyaki itself was so spot on it was lightly crispy on the outside but not crunchy or hard in anyway. The inside was so fluffy and light and really almost tastes like the most perfect waffle. The custard on the inside was creamy and also not overly sweet. It was the perfect compliment to the ice cream and Taiyaki. Also I want to also say that non of it tasted artificial, you could tell the ingredients are really good quality! I can't wait to go back and try their other flavors and treats. I have to say I am extremely picky about my food especially Asian food, it's quality and the accuracy of our culture. I hope you get a chance to try this place you will not be dissatisfied, it's so delicious the building itself is unassuming but also sweet and cute but you get smacked in the face with total yumminess. Its perfect in its simplicity, it's not the overtly sweet sugary ice cream with candies like gummy bears and chocolate chips added on top of it. When we went on a Saturday around noon they still had a few of each flavor. We tried the Matcha, the Lychee white chocolate, and the Thai Tea. They were all delicious. Perfectly chewy.
