It's a bigger portion than the dish I had more than a year ago. Also, this doesn't have wonton strips and peas. You order at front, and food and drinks get sent to your table. There's also a 3% surcharge to your subtotal for using a card. They cook your food to order here, and I could smell the fried rice getting prepared on the stove. The fried rice is strong in flavor but not too salty. It's similar to what you might get from a teppanyaki restaurant. The chicken was also good, but I felt that the rice had much more flavor. It wasn't really juicy as well. Otherwise, this made for a great dish, and I had some leftovers for the next day.

Sabor perpetuates this reputation by having a nigh-perfect example of how to make this dish sing. I loved every bite of this, even at $21 for the half-chicken version of it. The service was okay--quick to answer questions and getting our food out to us in a relatively timely manner. What was nice too is Sabor didn't go the route of charging for each aji verde sauce, which I liked. When you're used to going through half-a-bottle with every polla a la brasa meal, it's very important that that wonderful concoction is ready to go when you're ready for another bite of chicken, fries, or sometimes by itself. The space is kind of limited and I really wish it had more diners coming through. But as it was it had an okay vibe to it, like you're eating at your local spot that the tourists and gawkers haven't caught up with. I think it's a prime candidate for just bringing a book to allow time for your food to digest after. I think this spot will be a new addition to the local eat rotation, especially after the Fullerton Central Library meet-ups.

I think my niece that was visiting had requested something I could only find here. I honestly don't remember what we ordered back then, but we got dinner for 4 people and I recall we all enjoyed it. Niece was visiting from NY again last week and wanted dinner from Cuzco's, she said had not forgotten how good it was and she thinks about it often. Her wish came true, I ordered delivery again. This time it was only for the two of us, an order of Tallarines Verdes with Milanese Chicken, and Lomo Saltado. The food was fresh, cooked well, and super flavorful. Entrees were large and we each saved half for lunch the next day. I never find myself in La Habra, so I doubt I will dine in here, but I am happy to keep it on the delivery rotation, maybe we'll have it again when she comes back for Christmas!

They also didn't provide the green sauce or any type of hot sauce, which would have dramatically improved the dishes. I'm pretty sure I may have ordered the wrong dishes, but I've had these same meals at other Peruvian restaurants, and they were much more flavorful. Arroz Chaufa Beef- very basic simple dish, with only eggs and green onions, little beef and a lot of rice. It needed some black pepper or a flavorful sauce on the side. Adobo de Chancho con Frejoles- marinated pork adobo with fried yucca , a lot of rice and beans. The pork was bland and dry, and unfortunately it didn't look anything like the photos. Dish lacked in flavor

My son took me to Akashiro for my birthday. What a treat this was!!…read more He ordered the full omakase experience for us. I didn't know what to expect, but WOW! It's a like a dining adventure. Fifteen courses that are surprises because even tho there's a "template" of types of dishes, each one is ultimately the chef's choice. As each course was brought out, our waiter did an excellent job of describing what each item was and it's place of origin. Fifteen courses is alot to try to remember each specific dish so I decided to stay in the moment (after I snapped a pic) and enjoyed each one as we had them and talked about the flavor profiles and what we liked best about it. When my son had made the reservation he must have told them we were celebrating my birthday because in addition to the regular dessert course, our server brought me a birthday dessert which included green tea ice cream and a slice of matcha cheesecake. The full omakase experience was delicious and so fun! I told my son that it was like an advent calendar ~ each course we "opened" had us saying "ooo, how yummy" and left us with almost giddy anticipation of what we'd discover next. If you're looking for something fun and unique for a special occasion, I highly recommend the full omakase experience at Akashiro!

So we found this place and it was in the same vicinity and yay, they took reservations. Made reservations same day for a 18:30 seating. Service is impeccable. We were welcomed with hot towels, and this impressed me: when our server asked if we wanted cold or hot water. Love it! We opted for hot, better for digestion :) Our libation: Kubota sake - semi dry, rich, clean Our dishes: Assorted sashimi (16 pcs) - omakase. No soy sauce needed. Chef prepared with delicious flavors in mind. Tiger scallops - served in a what appears to resemble petrified wood, carved into a long boatlike dish. Hokkaido shrimp, cilantro oil, chilaquita (Peruvian onion relish), sweet potato crisp, smoke aji Amarillo (Peruvian yellow chili) Leche de tigre (rich emulsion of limes, Peruvian spices and chilis) - A complexity of flavors that comes together so completely. Eat with spoon. The delicate potato crisp finishes the bite with a little crunch. Udon picante - bell peppers, quinoa and 2 jumbo shrimp. Love the heat level. Comfort food at its best. Salmon parmesan - Nikkei sushi - seared salmon, parmesan bitter, eel sauce , arare, lime. Amazing. O toro sushi - the fattiest cut of tuna. Eat as is. Again chef prepared. No added seasoning required. Parri maki - fried shrimp, cream cheese, seared tuna topped with chimichurri, aji amarillo, chalaquita, ponzu. Food experience was enhanced by their impeccable taste in music. Super chill, soft beats stream the restaurant. With its perfect lighting too sets all the good moods for us. Don't wait for this fine dining experience of Japanese and Peruvian fusion. Note: when they ask if you want soy sauce, say No, thank you. It would be a shame to kill the taste of a beautiful dish with any added sauce. Kampai! Salud!

As a Peruvian myself, I'm a huge fan of Peruvian cuisine, and I want to be transparent that the food here is one of the reasons I've continued coming back. Unfortunately, my experiences with the service have been consistently disappointing. The few times I've visited, I've felt that I was treated with unnecessary attitude or passive aggression, and sometimes it simply wasn't warranted. Yesterday was unfortunately the last straw for me. I was celebrating with my family because I had recently been accepted into the program I had really hoped to get into, so this was supposed to be a special meal for us. My parents can admittedly be a little slow when it comes to understanding menus, but they were simply trying to figure out what to order. While I was calmly explaining the menu to my dad, the older male server abruptly interrupted and aggressively said in Spanish, "¿Y A QUIÉN LE HAGO CASO?" ("And who am I supposed to listen to?"). I understand that working in customer service can be frustrating, and I'm not expecting servers to be perfect or endlessly patient. However, there is a respectful way to communicate with customers, especially when there was no reason for the interaction to become confrontational in the first place. I was simply helping my father understand the menu, not trying to interfere with the ordering process. That comment completely changed the tone of the experience for me. I spent the rest of the meal feeling uncomfortable, especially because I continued having to interact with the same server after that initial exchange. It's unfortunate because I genuinely enjoy the food here and would love to support a Peruvian business, but good food can only go so far when the customer service consistently leaves you feeling unwelcome. I hope management takes this kind of feedback seriously, because the food deserves better than the experience that sometimes comes with it. Porque una cosa es el ají y otra cosa es la mala actitud.

The server Adrian was rude and seemed completely clueless about the menu. I asked a simple question, and instead of answering, I just got stared at like I was bothering them. If you work at a restaurant, you should probably know the menu--or at least be willing to find out the answer. The food was even worse.
