I think this might just be my go-to breakfast place now. I've been here on and off for years, but this last trip solidified it. I couldn't decide what to get so I asked my server which of my two options I should get. She told me I should get Corned Beef Hash Egg's Benedict. When I got it, I tasted why. It was delicious! I went with my Dad, who ordered and omelet--he said he really liked it. The food was great, the service was amazing. If you can get over the older crowd, and the older decor (the reason one star got knocked off--it hasn't been renovated in years), I'd say give this place a shot! read more

First time at Omega. The place looked fairly clean. Table and carpet looked clean. Very nice! Waited about a minute or two to get seated. The place had 10 to 15 people in the restaurant. Not bad for a Friday morning. As soon as I was seated, I was asked what I would like to drink. I had a glass of coke, which tasted watered down. I was really thirsty so I drank the entire glass while checking the menu. About 10 minutes later not only did I receive my meat lovers omelette and toast, but also received a new full glass of coke! Alright, did not have to ask for a refill! Very attentive waitress! Major plus!!! But the second glass of coke was also watered down. The hash browns were not as crispy as I would like. Next time I'll ask for extra crispy hash browns. The omelette was good but a little flat. It didn't seem as fluffy. I'm comparing it to Holder's Country Inn, which is my favorite breakfast place. Holder's has a fluffier omelette. Omega's is not bad by any means. As I continue to eat the omelette, it is definitely a notch below Holder's. Overall, this place is not bad. It certainly is better than any other breakfast place within 5 miles. The service that I received was outstanding!! This place is truly a hidden gem. I've been here a few times throughout the years and have failed to give them a good review they deserve. Located in a busy, crowded Asian supermarket area, one would not think that a quality American diner would reside here. I have a few things to say: 1. The portions here are HUGE!!!! 2. Prices are very, very reasonable considering the extent of food coma I had afterward. 2. The menu consists of a wide variety of lunch, dinner, and breakfast selections that you could order from any time of the day. 3. The French toast here is THICK, crispy, plentiful, and filling! I couldn't even finish it! It's a huge step up from Mil's Diner's Feench toast. I've had the best in Milpitas here. 4. Come with a friend! One order of food can MOST DEFINITELY serve two people. 5. This place is pretty good. I love the full bar availability for lunch. Mimosas, yes please. Margaritas, mmm. The bacon is appropriately sliced for dishes and I enjoy that. Denny's can't seem to figure that out. My roommate and I usually come here but recently convinced our coworkers to try something other than Bill's Cafe for once. My family and I are regular costumers here especially for holidays days like mothers/father day. My grandmother called the night before to reserve about 15 spots and they told her first come first serve. We got there the next morning right before opening to sit in their large sitting area and the manager told us that someone called that morning to reserve thirty spots and they'll sit us at the bar instead. We've been there a couple of times. Its the closest to momNpops around here. American style diner with all day breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. The service was good, the meal was oh! so good! We love the corned beef sandwich. Pancakes were fluffy and yummy. Mom had the omelet with avocado, bacon and something else. She wiped it out! We have also tried the London Broil Sandwich. I like the taste, but that piece of steak didn't belong in a sandwich. The gravy with mushrooms was really good tho. The portions are massive and the price is SOOOOO reasonable. Oh! the Clam chowder. I liked it. I expected worse but was pleasantly surprised. We love the place coz it doesn't have that chain restaurant feel to it where everything is mass produced. This is like a throw back to the past. The same type of diner you would expect to see in a 1960 movie set. Staff here has worked here a long time and is friendly. Many daily specials on the board which is by the restaurant cash register area when you enter the restaurant - reasonable prices. Quality is ok. Most dinners come with desert (for example, small dish of ice cream). We have enjoyed their house wines (reasonably priced) with dinner. In general, we prefer their breakfasts over going for other meals of the day. Their pork chops for breakfast are quite good. In general, this area is hurting a bit after Black Bear Diner opened in the area with better food; larger portions; similar prices. But if you are looking for a throw back in time, Omega Diner fits the bill. They do have a meeting room at this restaurant. read more

The chicken skillet wasn't what I was expecting. The chicken was dry :/ Maybe the cooks were in a rush to push orders out since it was busy in the morning. I had better pancakes at IHOP. like the two star review said, i've experienced better... We went in with my aunt and uncle for breakfast and it wasn't that crowded with 7 servers. They gave us our menu and we waited...and waited...and waited.. 15 mins went by and FINALLY someone noticed that we haven't ordered anything and came by. The lady came by and guess what she did "are you guys ready?...wait can you excuse me" and went back to the counter to bring food out..WTF IS THAT SHIT?! Then she came back and took our order which she then went away and the food came out 30 mins later....how long does it take to make pancakes?? yeahhhhh Will i be coming back here...hellllllll no! Consistently great food. Breakfast and lunches are always good and the servings are big. There are a wide variety of sanwiches on the lunch menu and I've never had one I didn't like. Their burgers are also very good and so are their breakfasts. Whether it's eggs and bacon, chicken fried steak or pancakes, they are all delicious. I would avoid the Mexican food though. I think Wednesdays are Mexican food for the special and I tried it once. Too greasy and the flavors were off. read more

This place is like a Denny's or IHOP except its more family oriented. I came here during the Green Bay/49ers playoff game and they made sure that all of the customers were seated in order to watch the playoff games. I had a Linguisa and eggs, which came with has browns. In addition to the Linguisa and eggs they had some chicken soup. It was the most delicious chicken soup that I've ever had. I absolutely love this place. When you're in the mood for a good ole' fashioned diner, skip Denny's, drive right on by Mil's and Black Bear, and head to Omega Restaurant. Ice water as soon as you sit down, hearty portions, and I don't know that I've ever seen the bottom of my coffee cup in the hundreds of times I've been. I'm always greeted warmly when I arrive, I'm on a first name basis with many of the wait staff, and it really does feel like a family restaurant when you walk in. Great service in my opinion. The country gravy is top notch, the omelettes are huge, and the waffles are the perfect balance between crispy and chewy. My favorite menu items are the Prime Rib on Friday Nights, the Maserati (Omelette with mushrooms and sausage topped with Spaghetti Meat Sauce), or splitting a waffle with my fiancee (I'm usually full from the Maserati). read more

We love the diner food here. Our favorite is the steak, egg and pancakes combos. Things have definitely changed over the years though. The pancakes use to be huge. They were so big that they almost hung off the side of the plates. Now they are small. The service use to be quick and friendlier. We miss the older waitress who was so warm, friendly and made you feel welcome. Now the service is very slow even in an almost empty restaurant. It almost feels like it's an inconvenience for the servers to seat you and many minutes later come back for the order. We regularly just get up and get our own togo boxes for leftovers. Waiting for the bill takes forever and we just go to the register to pay since we rarely get our bill by the time we want to leave. We dined here regularly for many years pre-covid19. read more

This place is pretty bomb. I came in at closing time 9pm which I'm pretty sure is just a faux closing time to avoid stragglers cuz yelp says ten and we were seated without hesitation. I ordered the guacamole Bacon burger and my girl ordered the corn beef hash with eggs. My total after tax for both meals was 19.97 or so. Good deal! Okay... totally aside from the somewhat tired kitsch for the interior decoration of this place, I personally do not give a restaurant repeat business because I like the appearance of the place or whether it's staffed with eye candy for waitresses - I go there for the food and the prices. For some reason since January of last year, the quality of the food at Omega has experienced a quantum leap. Every meal I've had there for the last year has been reasonably priced for the large portions, fresh and delicious. Their peppercorn steak dinner on weekends is wonderful, and as noted below, the corned beef hash and eggs are equal or better in quality and quantity to every other location here in the South Bay: and considering the competition from Black Bear, Bills and other diner-style businesses, that's saying something. The waitresses are friendly and attentive enough to suit our tastes, though Sunday morning church crowds sometimes test their punctuality and attention to detail: but that's true of every place. (Did I mention that I give repeat business to restaurants for the food and the prices? I go there to eat - not find a new wife) Not 5 stars here in this review only because absolutely nobody is perfect and the bar needs to keep Rose's lime juice available to make a proper Gin Gimlet. The downside which I have repeatedly experience is that they use a very old machine to tally up your bill so there could be some discrepancies but they're usually very obvious. We ate there for the VERY LAST TIME on 02/18/2020. I don't remember what I ordered because it was so oily or something. My salad was to have honey mustard dressing, I have no idea what I got, it was kind of yellow, tasted like it had vinegar in it. Yes, the restaurant itself is a little out dated, maybe a new carpet and new tables/booths would be a great improvement. But this is like a place where you could be a regular.... we usually go here on Sundays after church...never a wait like IHOP, Denny's, or Black Bear. Service is great. Food is good, and gigantic portions - that we have plenty left for lunch and dinner. They even have loco moco as a breakfast option.
