    Mediterranean Ahi Salad
    Christine V.

Had the Mediterranean Ahi salad and fish tacos. Fish tacos are always a hit. The salad itself was amazing - local goat cheese, fresh greens, artichoke hearts, tomatoes and a delicious truffle Meyer lemon dressing. The Ahi was pre cooked and bland. I asked the server for some wasabi and soy sauce to kick it up. I know they need to prepare in advance for the hungry pool crowds but I was underwhelmed. I hope at least it's fresh fish when here in Hawaii and not frozen ahi....we love the hotel and are guests so we are going to continue to eat here....lol.

    Hawaiian sweet bread grilled cheese

Can't beat the poolside location and the friendly and attentive service. I had some wings and the Hawaiian sweet bread grilled cheese. Nothing to write home about food wise, but about as good as you can get when it comes to poolside dining.

Beautiful views, incredible food, and surprisingly family-friendly!…read more While visiting Maui, we made a reservation at The Plantation House, and it ended up being one of our favorite meals of the trip. The setting alone is stunning--overlooking the Kapalua golf course with gorgeous ocean views--but the food absolutely lived up to the scenery. We started with a fresh house salad, which was simple but perfectly dressed and a great way to kick things off. For entrées: * My husband ordered the short rib, which was incredibly tender and rich with flavor. The sauce paired perfectly with the creamy mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. * My oldest son had the prime rib, and it was cooked beautifully with a great sear and topped with asparagus and a flavorful butter. * I chose the shrimp scampi, which was buttery, garlicky, and packed with shrimp. The pasta was coated in the most delicious creamy sauce and even came with toasted bread to soak up every bit of it. * My younger two ordered from the kids menu--the kids short rib and butter-and-cheese fettuccini--and both plates were generous and surprisingly elevated for kids' meals. Everything we ordered came out looking beautiful and tasting just as good. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole experience felt relaxed but still upscale. If you're visiting Maui and want a spot that delivers great food, amazing views, and works well for families, The Plantation House is absolutely worth the reservation.

Super solid luau at the Ritz Carlton!…read more Staying near Kapalua on our latest visit - I decided to surprise wifey with one of the newer luaus on the island, the Tales of the Kapa Moe! Had to make my reservations a few weeks in advance since the luau is only on Tuesdays and Fridays! Some limited, ah?! Taking place at the Ritz newly renovated Aloha Garden Pavilion, such a sight when you walk in! Welcomed by staff and given a fresh flower lei and a stiff cocktail (or TWO) right away! Now that's what I call the Aloha Spirit...quite literally LOL! -Blue Hawaiian -Kapalua Mai Tai (fave of the night, strong & vibrant!) Before going to your assigned seating in the covered pavilion, you can partake in the Hawaiian cultural activities in the lanai, and get your pictures taken underneath the beautiful garden backdrop! Then when you're ready you get escorted to your table for the luau pre-show! I gotta say - the highlight of the night is the luau dinner, pretty swanky! Before they call you up to the buffet line by table, they bring out the whole roasted pig for showing off as it heads to the display line for service! I noticed though that the pig is not made in an underground imu as is the traditional Hawaiian method - it is cooked in a Caja China, which can also produce succulent meat! The buffet is stacked well, and you can go back as your heart desires! So much to eat: Salads -Hawaiian Chopped Salad -Caesar Salad -Kula Beets with Arugula (for you vegans) -Soba Noodle Salad Entrees -Whole Roasted Pig -Macadamia Nut Crusted Fresh Fish Catch -Westside Huli Huli Chicken -North Shore Oahu Garlic Shrimp Sides -Wok Fired Island Vegetables -Local Molokai Sweet Potatoes -Ginger & Soy Steamed Bok Choy -Garlic Mushroom Fried Rice There's even a Build your own Poke Station with ahi and kimchi tako poke and tons of condiments! AND even a Keiki Menu that includes Fried Chicken Tenders and Mac & Cheese! I know this isn't what folks in ancient Hawaiian times ate, but cheee hooo the food overall is ONO! The Kula Beets with Arugula and Soba Noodle salads were faves! Some crazy flavor combos going there and good starters! Cannot go wrong with a poke bowl with your own fixings as an appetizer as well! The Whole Roasted Pig was nice & moist (especially the belly sections), delicious when served with the mu shu buns, poi, pickled vegetables, and hoisin chili sauce. Like basically an Asian taco! The Macadamia Nut Crusted Fresh Fish was delectable too, delicate fish with their mild Thai coconut curry sauce was very good! The North Shore Oahu Garlic Shrimp was liked as well, so much garlic and lemon butter! And what goes well with protein? Why, a heaping serving of Garlic Mushroom Fried Rice of course! More of a modern meal take on the Hawaiian luau, but I ain't mad! I made sure to eat enough for my ancestors HA! After the buffet dinner, relax, digest and get ready for the show. The Tales of the Kapa Moe! Great local host, makes you get interactive too, work off some of that luau food! The show is a lively depiction of a day in the life of the Hawaiian ancestors, showcasing the different tasks of everyone in the village. Many tales to enlighten your senses: *Koʻi Honua - A story of the creation of the islands *Pele - Goddess of the volcano and its molten lava *Kanehekili - God of thunder bringing forth rain to start growth *Laka - Goddess of the forest and all earthly vegetation *Ka I ka hoe - Audience participation chant lesson *Huakaʻi Hele - Migration of our ancestors from the south pacific *Ka wailele o Honokohau - Acrobat in the form of a waterfall *Ae Kakou - Men dance expressing their love for fish and poi *Lānaʻi - The beauty of Lānaʻi displayed as our women dance in a cloud *Moea awakens - Fire finale representing that the fire of our people its heritage will continue to live and burn strong And while you're enjoying the history, don't forget to grab some desserts: -Mochi Tart (must try!) -Mango Pudding -Mango Cheesecake -Kapalua Bar -Macadamia Chocolate Crunch Cake What an experience of a luau, very nuanced! Especially the fire show at the end, super LIT is an understatement! My only note is that this luau is a bit pricey for the 3 hour dinner & show - about $260 per person for Ohana Seating, and about $316 per person for the Ali'i Premium Seating (right near the front row). But if you're a kama'aina don't despair - let them know and you can get 20% off with valid Hawaii ID! Awesome time for wifey & I at the Tales of the Kapa Moe Luau Show! This was us early celebrating our 15th anniversary! Can't go wrong with this luau at the Ritz! AWWWRIGHT!!

Our waiter took our order, never brought my wife's glass of wine; then after we had waited 25 minutes without getting anything, he stopped by to ask us how things were going so far. We were baffled: "We haven't received any food or drinks yet." Another 10 minutes later, he showed up again, apologized and said the restaurant's manager had said their order-entry system had gone down and that our order would be one of the first to go in w/the tech running again. Then another 25 minutes passed, other tables got their food, and we sat empty-handed. Two of our party finally complained to multiple staff; our waiter said to calm down and that our food would be ready in another 10 minutes (seriously?); and very soon thereafter, our food finally arrived. No apologies from the restaurant, no follow-up on why the order took another half-hour after their system was allegedly running again, no sign of our appetizers or wine. We were OK w/those last details because after waiting more than an hour, we were ready to leave. Our order finally arrived more than an hour after we had placed it, and the food was fine. After the meal, I asked three employees if I could speak with the manager; each was evasive or said he's hard to reach. Finally, our waiter claimed (no idea whether this is true) that they had no more kitchen staff, the owner was cooking all the food, and the restaurant was due to close in the next few days. That was in late December 2025, so if Kitchen 5315 is still open in 2026, save yourself the misery and avoid this restaurant!

The place is beautiful and modern, albeit loud inside. Also, I'd say it's not the most Hawaiian vibes, if you're going for that specific vibe. The food was really good. It was expensive, but to be expected. I went with the double fish entree and it escapes me what two fish, but it truly was delicious and maybe the best meal on my limited trip to Maui. The ube bread was dough and delicious smothered in their compounded butter. The cocktail was good. My kids ordered ice cream sandwiches, which we were told were small, but they were actually quite big, to the kids happiness. The service was slower, but the place was packed. Overall, we enjoyed it!

It was busy at the bar but not to bad for the main dinning. I checked in and we were seated right away. The girl asked us to follow her to our seats seemed to be looking at the open tables and decided to put us in the middle of the room at a 4 person table. I saw that the entire section with booths was empty. I asked her if we could get a booth and she said "well those are for booked people." uhm I booked a reservation. She waited a second and walked back to the reception desk. Soon she came back and sat us at a booth which was a table for 2. So weird. Our server was really nice and laid back. He knelt down and told us the specials. SO as far as service it was very good. My wife wasn't very hungry so she was looking for a small dish. She got the Caesar salad and it was good. She also got the Parmesan Risotto. It was actually a side dish. When it came out it was tomato based and didn't have any parmesan on it. I asked the server and he said it was infused with lobster sauce. which wasn't want she wanted. He asked to take it away but my wife said no and didn't want to bother with it. I really think it was the risotto that was connected to a special dish and not the side. I started out with the steamed clams. They were good flavor and I liked the sauce with it but some of the clams didn't open which is bad. they were a nice size to. Next was the pork chop wrapped in bacon. It was cooked and tasted ok. I just expected more from this place. The server came back and was apologizing about my wife's risotto and offered to take care of the dessert . So we got the chocolate lava cake. It was really chocolaty. This place was just ok.

We originally had called in for a reservation for 12 and they scheduled us for a 7pm table. We had some of our party not able to join us so I called them back and asked if we were a party of 9, could we be seated sooner? They opened at 5 and we requested to have an earlier dinner appointment. The hostess was quick to accommodate and gave us a 5pm reservation. - I felt that the servers were very attentive our entire meal, always making sure to get any extra plates out of the way and refilling waters often Bad: - it was quite overpriced. I understand that this is a tourist-centered area, but I cannot fathom paying $40+ for pasta... the serving size for most of our food was disappointing to say the least. The Alaskan roll had barely any fish and the rolls were not very big. It was falsely advertised to us by our waiter that a roll could easily feed 6-7 people. Please refer to the pictures below to reference serving size. - the food itself was not up to standard, especially for the outrageous price we paid for it all. The short rib wontons... first of all, I recommend Sansei changes the name of this dish because are a far cry from wontons. They did not taste good and there was barely any filling in them. The Alaskan roll tasted like only rice and cucumber. The cooked salmon was dry and came with a single jumbo shrimp... - our main waiter was rude, he did not seem to have much patience, giving us attitude and tone that did not feel appropriate. Conclusion: Overall, we were disappointed with our experience at Sansei. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, visitor or local, and we will not be coming back.

I made a reservation but wanted to get there way early to walk around and grab a cocktail before we sat down. What a great location overlooking the beach and a small bay. The staff was friendly, helpful and very accommodating and because we were way early for our reservation they gave us the option of sitting at the bar and dining. What a fabulous idea because the view was incredible, with open air surrounding the bar. Victor our server and the bartender was very friendly and took great care of us. We were able to enjoy our meal and take in another spectacular Maui sunset from where we sat. Cocktails were their own spin on some regulars and very refreshing. The Sashimi was so fresh it could literally melt in your mouth, wedge salad was Perfect to share and very good. The onion soup had a unique flavor and I wasn't sure if it was the local Maui onions that gave it that uniqueness but it was delicious. My entree was incredible, I am pretty sure this was the first time I have had Monchong fish, but it was so moist and flaky and then to put a pesto crusting on it just made it "Ono" served on a bed of risotto. Crazy good-well done Chef you knocked this one out of the park. Coconut shrimp was cooked perfectly and made with the larger count shrimp, served with the perfect Chili Tai sauce. We really wanted to dine at a place that had that old school charm, and we found it here at Sea House. Live Hawaiian style music in the background by a solo artist completed our dining experience. A "fantabulous" evening done with class set in a beautiful natural theatre. Bravissimo Sea House you made the evening special. When on the Kaanapali coast and you want that classic dining experience this is your place, BUT make a reservation.
