I had their cheeseburger (half-pound), ordered Medium(because they use fresh meat), and it was very good. When I try out a place for the first time, I like to order a basic cheeseburger so I can get a handle on the taste of the meat and their toppings. I was very pleased. This was not my favorite burger in the area but it would be in my top 10 and the price was reasonable. I also ordered the fries and they were also tasty with a nice crisp. The other members of my party were also pleased with their meals. I also tasted the sweet potato fries and they had a nice texture but I'm not sure I could eat a whole order (too sweet and not my preference). That person loved their Jalapeno Ketchup. Another member had the Gyros sandwich. He liked it but he said he has had better tzatziki sauce. They were four for four in pleasing all of us. I can't really see any reason for not giving them five stars. Besides the tzatziki sauce, the last person in our party got their burger about 5 minutes after two of us, which leads me to believe that they throw burgers on the grill when they see a line starting to form but it was lunch and we got ours shortly after we sat down. read more

I love finding small "hole" in the wall places to eat because they are generally much tastier than the larger chain places. Olive Burger proved this once again. Many friends recommended this place so I finally made my way there. The Ultimate Chicken Sandwich is probably the best thing I've ever had in my life. I absolutely love avocado and they are so generous with the toppings. The chicken had incredible flavor and was HUGE. Sweet potato fries were perfect- not soggy or burnt! Great burger joint. The taste reminded us of the backyard cookouts from our youth. Meat was fresh tasting with lots of flavor and I love the charbroiled taste, nicely toasted bun, the cheese tasted like real cheese made for some melted goodness on top of the meat, thousand island dressing was a great topper. Top tier local burger joint, my burger was very juicy and the portion sizes are huge. Prices are very fair and the staff seemed very friendly. If I were to nitpick I'd say that I prefer my burger a little more pink, but medium well is fine. I could probably try requesting a rarer cook, but I haven't tried. But immediately after being greeted by a wonderfully friendly staff, you pick up aromas of juicy beef grilled against melted cheese and toasted buns; it's as if you're in your own home. I ordered a double cheese burger with a side of fries, and my order came out pretty quickly despite the restaurant hosting a small kid's party. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The burger was juicy and fresh, the fries weren't greasy or heavy, and it was all relatively cheap. I recommend it for a quick lunch or a quiet dinner. The food was delicious. People with food allergies will want to avoid eating here, as the workers do not seem to understand or care about allergies. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger, fries, and fried mushrooms. I only have severe allergies to corn and bell peppers, neither of which should have been anywhere near those foods and were not listed on the menu. The burger had onions on it, and a few bites into my meal, my mouth and throat started burning. I checked with my husband, who said the fries were slightly spicy, but his throat wasn't burning the same way. A few seconds later, it started to feel like my throat was closing. When I told the cashier that I had a severe allergy to bell peppers and that I thought my throat was closing, and asked if the onions were cooked with bell peppers, he only denied it. He was not concerned at all about my response. When I asked him about the seasoning on the onions, he said it was the same seasoning they used on the fries. "But does the seasoning have bell peppers in it?" He said no. "Are you sure?" He stepped away to ask the cooks, but they only said no (there is an open kitchen) without checking any labels. They all stared at me like I was an alien and had just grown a third head as I went back to my table. Even though I know better when a restaurant has that kind of careless attitude about allergies, I just wanted to eat my dinner. I sat down and ate a couple more fries. Then it became obvious I was in the beginning stages of anaphylaxis, and my husband and I rushed out to get home so I could take rescue meds (before anyone says it, I haven't been able to afford an Epi pen, and I know I should have one). It's not their fault that I was allergic to their seasoning, that's not in their control, though it does get frustrating not knowing something has allergens in it from reading menus, and wasting my money on food I can't eat. The real problem, and the reason I am writing this review, is that knowing everything we now know about food allergies, there is no room for this kind of careless, uninformed attitude in the restaurant industry in 2019. The food service industry has a responsibility to train its employees in the danger of food allergies and how to respond to them. Even if I had asked about the food prior to ordering it and stated my allergies, the cashier/cooks would not have checked the ingredients and apparently would not have cared. I am lucky that I experienced only mild anaphylaxis and was okay. If you have food allergies, I recommend staying away, because they will not be able to inform you of allergens, and I would even be worried about the possibility of not disclosing allergens even if they are aware of them, just because they do not seem to understand the seriousness of what can occur if someone eats a food they are allergic to. If you own this restaurant, please educate yourself and your employees about how severe food allergies are and how to respond to them. This attitude could have cost me my life, and it could cost someone else their life in the future. Your food is great. It's a shame that I could not enjoy it and cannot return out of fear. read more

I like a good burger about once a week. I tried several highly rated burger joints over the last few weeks (twisted root, del's, liberty, jakes, mooyah's, in and out, among others in north Dallas) and just wasn't satisfied. In general, most all these burgers were not that flavorful. Mostly dry and without a good meaty flavor. It's almost like they try to cover up this fact with their vast array of toppings that disguise the hamburger itself (except in and out, which is very basic). Then I tried Olive Burger based on other reviews. Wow, fantastic burger! Great mixture of charbroil flavor and juiciness. I've been several times now. I alternate between the mushroom swiss and the bacon cheese. I have also had the charbroiled chicken versions and they're very good as well. The toppings and condiments are fresh and very good. I generally don't like dressing on a burger, but the thousand island dressing they offer standard is a pretty good enhancement to their burgers. The buns are standard and the fries are just ok. I'd give them five stars if they would just cut up and fry fresh idaho potatoes on the spot to complement these fantastic burgers. You'll notice a basket of steak knifes at the pickup counter. The burgers are so big, you need to cut it in two in order to eat it! So, do like the regulars and pick one up as you pickup your order. One of the best 'over the counter' burgers around. Been meaning to try this place and was sadly disappointed. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños and as I did I envisioned the burger pictured in the listing here on Yelp: melted cheese and meat looking downright delicious. But what I got was very different. Cheese was unmelted, jalapeños were warm but not grilled, and the bacon was not prepared to order. Not sure why it was so...so-so when it looks like they do really good work. On the plus side, the fries were good and the portions were plentiful, but there are better burgers for the money elsewhere. read more

Fantastic burger joint! I registered on Yelp just to give these guys props. I had my first burger Thursday, a jalapeño CB. It was perfect: warm, toasty bun, fresh peppers & fixings, melted cheese, and juicy hunk of well seasoned beef. Got that? Not bland, not over-seasoned, not salty: Well seasoned. I added mozzarella sticks and they were big, crispy and hot. And the place was spotless! Whoever is running the kitchen is doing it with military style cleanliness and detail.
