At face value, this is a burger place. A simple burger place. But this is not a burger place. It's a place where you can feed a family under $40. It's a place that has a wide menu. The food is great and efficiently comes out. What makes this place stand out is the team. I have never seen a group of seemingly unmanaged team members flip tables and rearrange the restaurant so many times in the 45 minutes we were here. I had the pleasure of eating there last week, after reading all the positive reviews here. I was not disappointed. I went there for supper, after not eating all day, and had a tremendous appetite. I had the Bacon/Cheeseburger = $ 5.50 & extra combo ( sm fries & sm drink extra for $3.00 more ). I decided to get the Sweet Potato Fries ( $1.00 extra instead of the normal fries ), but wasn't blown away by them. All their burgers are = 1/2 lb and cooked fresh made to order. When they brought out my burger, it was gi-normous, & I even had trouble finishing it, as hungry as I was! The also have a great assortment of many other burger combinations, as well as Gyro Sandwiches, along with other chicken sandwiches, and Lemon-Chicken also.This is a Greek family run restaurant, which has good service and very reasonable prices. I had the Gyro on a pita. It's very good. Lamb gyro piled high on a pita. Pita could be bigger and thinner. I guess it would be better with lavash bread. Tastes really good. No need to order fries with it unless you are REALLY REALLY hungry. They have a crappy ice tea machine by lipton brisk. Other than that, no complaints... Update: Cashier is an absolute jerk. The most amazing burger's I've ever had. We're regulars. I've tried the chicken house burger once but the beef keeps calling my name every time I go. Beef house burger with the turkey bacon is the absolute best. We've tried the beef olive burger and beef mushroom burger and they were all good.Their sweet potatoes fries seem to be battered and then tossed with cinnamon sugar....ridiculously delicious. So anyhow while waiting for the food I noticed they had all kinds of HOT SAUCE out on the tables. El Yucateco Chile Habañero Red Salsa, the green ver. and habanero guacamole sauce, and a variety of others. That made me very happy. They screwed up several orders for my co-workers as well. But not mine, so I was happy. They also had Gyros and they were HUGE and fairly good as well. This is a hole in the wall place. It doesn't stand out at all, so you really have to know where you're going to find it. If you do find it, hurray! You're about to eat some really tasty burgers! I've tried their beef burger, delicious! Cooked to perfection. The chicken is good, but it's a little on the dry side for me. It's very hard to get the perfect juicy chicken. The turkey burger is also very delicious. Not dry at all. I'd come back just for the turkey burger! If you're starving, come here. Their burgers are HUGE. I try to cut down my carbs by not eating the top bun on my burgers, and even then, I leave feeling pretty comatose. For the price of $5-8 a burger, you're definitely getting the best bang out of your buck. I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but this place is also halal, so it's great for my Muslim friends, too, when we decide where to go for lunch. :) If you plan on coming here on a weekday during lunch time, go before noon as it gets packed and the lines start forming after that. read more

That could be the best burger I've ever had. My husband, my 9 year old, and I all three said "WOW!" when we bit into our burgers. I mean, they were fantastic. They usually aren't open om Sundays for things happen for a reason. They had a private event cancelled and decided to open. You won't regret anything about this place in Richardson. My daughter likes this place so I thought I would give it a try. I ordered a mushroom cheese burger without the bun with fries. The burger was juicy and very flavorful, loved the seasoning they used. It did not appear to be a pre frozen patty of meat and it was quite large. I really enjoyed this burger and will return with a gluten free bun next time. The fries were OK but they were frozen potatoes and I think they had some flour on them to make them crispier. Not happy about that because I eat gluten free. The staff was very friendly, someone was always in the dining area cleaning tables and making things presentable. read more

Went by Olive Burger today, hoping for another great burger, but the store was being remodeled and they had a food truck out front, preparing the food etc and several tables OUTDOORS with Fans. We waited in line 18 minutes while the employee took forever to take the orders of 5 people. While waiting we noticed that they had reduced the size of their burgers from 1/2 lb to 1/3 lb AND KEPT THEIR PRICES THE SAME AS WHEN THEY WERE SERVING 1/2 LB BURGERS. VERY sneaky way to take a price increase!!!!! We decided that this place was no longer for us so we left. 95 Degrees+ outside, 18 minute wait in line and smaller burgers at a higher price. After traveling to various cities and trying a multitude of burgers of different sizes and flavors, I can truly and honestly say that Olive Burger remains my number one go-to burger spot. I usually have a hard time between the double and the olive cheeseburger but know that I will not be disappointed either way; and I have never been. The patties are seasoned and cooked perfectly (to my preference) every single time. They have expanded the Richardson location in the last year or two and added more tables and chairs for customers which was necessary because the line could be out the door. All I can say is WOW. Burgers are huge, juicy and perfectly prepared. Beef is fresh and the quality of the buns were bakery fresh. Service is quick and with a smile. The owner even gave us some fried jalapeños and man, were they good. Not overly hot but sweet like candy. Right in between a Golden Chick and a car rental this place is the PUREST definition of a hidden gem!! I've eaten here at least 3 times a month for the past 2 years and the burgers and sandwiches are always consistently fantastic. I've never ever had a meal here that I wasn't, at the very least, satisfied with and the food comes out fast but always fresh and hot. The meat is also halal so some burgers are served with beef bacon. I'd recommend the House Burger or the grilled House Chicken if it's your first time. The side options aren't spectacular but I like the sweet potato fries. The prices are also very, very good, especially since they offer a student discount. When my friends Carl and David raved to me about Olive Burger, they got a quiet nod and I put the information on the back burner in my brain. I was meeting a friend for lunch and found that restaurant was closed for the holiday. That's when I remembered Olive Burger. If you are a burger purist, don't let the name or ingredients put you off. I decided to try the signature burger and I'm so glad I did. This was one of the best burgers I have ever had and lots of ground beef patties have crossed these lips and tongue. The meat was perfectly formed (not beaten into submission and packed down), cooked over a charcoal grill to perfection then topped with the olives, grilled onions and cheese. I had it with the usual lettuce and tomatoes and it was eye-rolling good. I also split orders of onion rings and fries with my friend. Fair warning: these burgers are huge. Worth every calorie. Utterly divine. After I finished my burger and enjoying the last onion ring, I spotted another customer eating a gyro. Hmmm. That's probably going to be my next order. If it's half as good as it looks, it will be equally delicious. The guy holding the gyro with both hands seemed to be in his own world of culinary ecstasy.
