I normally have low expectations for chains, so the bar was low, but it was blown away by the snackers - seasoned pita triangles with a cheese dip that has a texture similar to butter and a taste that resembles Swiss. We ordered unlimited soup, salad and snackers. They had a spinach and feta soup which sounds odd for a soup, but actually worked; it featured potato, and tasted like a potato soup with spinach and feta added. Unlike some of the other reviewers, going to the Canton Olga's marked my first experience with this chain, unless you count the catered meal that prompted me to go there because I enjoyed it so much. I've gotten takeout from here a number of times now, and I've eaten in once. The quality is consistent, and the Original Olga is amazingly delicious and certainly the best item on the menu. Olga's is probably one of the best places to have a meal any time. Seriously. If you're a fan of the gyro, this place is right up your alley. I have never (okay...very rarely) had a bad experience in an Olga's. With that, this is my favorite location in the Metro-Detroit area. It is the cleanest of all the Olga's restaurants. That's probably due to the fact that it's one of the more modern of the chain. I love the ambience of this particular location because it's in a plaza...a standalone Olga's location that's not located in a busy mall. The cleanliness is topnotch and you'll always sit down right away when you walk in. The music level is perfect...just loud enough to jam to but quiet enough that you can hear yourself think AND talk to the person across from you at the same time. Today, our server was very quick to the table to take our order. We started off with an order of the Snackers. Minutes later they were at the table piping hot. They were fresh and crispy...just the way they should be eaten. I ordered the original Olga which is, simply put, the BEST gyro sandwich you'll ever eat. It came to our table very quickly. The meal was amazing and ate every last bite. My only complaint was that the fries weren't as hot as I like them. Of course, I could eat anything out of the frier...that's what we're going for. That's okay, though...most places don't know that preference of mine. I actually had room for dessert today, so I went with the Birmingham Best Brownie. VERY, VERY, tasty. A warm brownie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, this dessert is served warm with a dollop of whip cream on top. It's not too much to enjoy after a mammoth gyro sandwich. What made the dessert even better was that simply by checking in here on Yelp, I was able to eat my dessert for FREE. Yeah...free never tasted so good! Olga's has done an excellent job at rebranding themselves over the last few years. The only challenge we had was when we checked into Yelp we received a free desert with a purchase. Well the server had closed our our bill and said we had to wait until the next. This review is purely based on service not food quality as it is usually typical. I will say they missed giving us the cheese for the Snackers but much credit in this chaotic time with all of the shutdown due to The Cove in 19 pandemic. The server who said her name was Vina I think I was hustling in and out in the pouring rain without a jacket taking orders curbside even without calling them in. The server is definitely management material showing initiative and care towards satisfactory customer service noticing that car pulled in the lot even though there was not a order already placed . Service by employees like this needs to be acknowledged and recognized . In this crazy time that we are in right now please remember that your servers live off of tips and just because you're calling in a takeout order doesn't mean they didn't work twice as hard to serve you your meal acknowledge this with an appropriate tip. read more

I've been to other Olga's before and never had a problem until we stopped in here the other day. I ordered the fajitas expecting to get a dish that looked like the photo on the menu. When the food was brought out, it was quite a disappointment. Way too much rice and way too little chicken. I asked our server to get the manager but the manager refused to come over and speak with me. I just moved in the area and I was looking for new places to try out. I had never been at Olga's but I thought why not. I looked up the reviews on Google and most of them were bad, but I was hungry so I just ignored them. I work at a restaurant, and we sit our customers within 2 minutes of them showing up so I was quite surprised when it took the hostess 12 minutes to sit me. There were a lot of open tables, but they weren't clean, and the hostess was also working at carryout and bussing tables. If this place got a busboy/girl, that would solve a lot of problems. I got sat at a big table and I was by myself; they could have utilized that big table better and sat me at a single booth instead, but that's not a problem. My waitress was great. She was kind, and she knew what she was doing. She offered a great service, and provided me with refills and other things as soon as I requested them. I ordered the mozzarella dip snack for starters. It was delicious. I loved it. And then I ordered the Angus Steak Burger with curly fries and the vanilla ice cream which I asked to be turned into a sundae with caramel syrup. First, the steak burger was delicious. And the curly fries were really good, very light and easy to taste. I was a little bit disappointed that my ice cream sundae didn't come with toasted walnuts on top as advertised, but that wasn't a problem at all. I figured maybe they had run out of walnuts (it's a restaurant, it happens). My bill came up to be 25$. I was a little bit surprised and some of their items, such as drinks,were a little bit more pricey that most places. But that didn't matter; the food was delicious and the service was great. The waitress that was serving the table next to me was really bad and I figured maybe she was new but that didn't bother me. Overall, a really nice place with an elegant design, great food, and good service. Would definitely recommend to try it. read more

The food was great! My friend and I shared the snackers and got an Olga's Original. I love it because it isn't dripping with grease, like at some other places. It was decently priced! I gave it a 4 (instead of a 5) because of the service. If you check in on yelp, it says you get a free dessert. I told the waitress and she had to go talk to the manager twice, then had to take my phone back to him. He seemed mad about it..it was a $1.99 dessert..I wasn't trying to cheat the place, I just saw the coupon. At the point, I didn't even want it, but the waitress gave it to me anyway (after having to ring up a new bill to show the free dessert). Wow! Last time I went to an Olga's Kitchen it was just a cut above your typical coney island diner with some good soups. This Canton location was a very pleasant surprise indeed. Great modern decor and interesting upbeat music made it feel like an exciting place to eat and, I should add, they have a new, very healthy menu. I got the Turkey pastrami with artichoke sandwich with a side salad. The salad was tossed with a Greek dressing and had plum tomatoes, small olives and a few dark greens along with the iceburg lettuce. Very nice. The sandwich was warm and wrapped in a bread that is far superior to the kind of doughy "flat bread' that they serve as a 'healthy choice" at subway and had a nice sauce as well. I was pleasantly surprised at the new look at this one in Canton. Updated modern looking decor, seating and lighting. Plus they serve beer and wine which is an added bonus! I avoided Olgas for years becuase I had grown weary of the tired cafeteria look at the ones you find at the mall. I have eaten here on numerous ocassions and have always found the food to be of high quality. I really enjoy Olga's and it is nice to finally have one locally - for one - and that is not in some mall location. The knock on this place is the location (Ford Rd. is terrible) and the parking - which I presume cannot be their fault and is due to the location off Ford Rd. So you really have to park in and behind the building. But, not the end of the world. Maybe the other drawback is how busy it can be and then having to wait. This location is new, sleek and modern. Really nice. It is the same as any Olga's menu. So not much to elaborate on. You either like Olga's or maybe you don't. If you have never been - gotta give it a try once. The snackers are awesome for app. I like many of the sandwiches I have tried and they all have a great blend of flavor. I also love the white chicken chili. As with any chain - I'm sure there is something on the menu that is not ideal - but I haven't tried it myself yet. Me and the wife have a ritual of stopping here before hitting a movie - usually on an afternoon off when it is less busy. read more

Food was okay, but my main issue with this place is the pricing. Their prices are FAR to high for a diner type restaurant like Olgas. Couple that with the place being run by what appeared to be all teenagers goofing off the entire time in the back, and appearing once in a one hour period, that makes it a 2-star. I know I wrote a review on here before, but for some reason it's gone now, it was a good review at the time too, oh well I was going to update it anyway thanks to our last experience.... My wife and I had stopped in after shopping at Ikea (yes we were tired), the place wasn't busy but it still took at least 15 minutes for someone to come around and just get a drink order. Food came out and my wife had a hair in her sandwich, it really doesnt get much worse. We let the waitress know and she took her plate away, I was done too after that but she left mine. The manager had come by as well and we explained what happened, they handled things well but for some reason insisted on giving us another sandwich. The newer, modern design is simply beautiful. For those complaining about the noise and condensed menu, it's a new concept store and the menu is tailored to this store. This was my first time eating at any Olga's. I work on the road alot and am getting very tired of fast food so i saw a sign for here while visiting MI. was surprised to see something different so i tried the Mediterranean with zucchini fries and the olga salad and finished it off with lemon honey cheese cake. the sandwich was very good the fries were deep fried might have like it better if they were baked chips instead but still decent. the salad was pretty good had a good amount of olives and seasoned just right. the cheesecake was pre made frozen but still tasty with the strawberry puree. I have not been to Olga's in over two years and thought I would give it a try. Big mistake! We went to the Olga's on Beck & Grand River in Novi, Mi. I ordered a trio that consisted of a miniature Olga Original, Broccoli soup and a Salad. Where do I start? When our meal was brought to us, they were out of silverware. Explain how we were to eat our salad and soup without utensils? We brought it to their attention but they were not the least bit concerned. They finally brought silverware to us after 3-4 minutes. The soup was luke warm almost to the point it was cold. The lettuce in my salad was extremely soggy and limp (Ugh!) and my Olga sandwich was so full of grease, I could not eat it. I even took the meat out of the wrap and used napkins to soak up the grease. Four napkins later, I gave up. I didn't eat anything it was so awful! What a disappointment! Will I come back? Definitely not! There are plenty of other restaurants in the area where I can experience a good dining experience. Sorry about the bad review- even sorrier I left Olga's hungry! read more

I did a curbside pickup today and my pick up time was at 1:30 and I arrived at 1:32 and there was other people who pulled up after me and even after I pushed the I arrived bottom everyone else still got their food before me and when I finally get mine 10 minutes later my fries are cold and not even fully done and my snackers were terrible all mushy and not done either like everything was messed up and cold the only thing that was right was my Dr Pepper I'm surprised I even got a straw , definitely won't be back read more

Pretty disappointed with the service at this location. Waitress wasn't very friendly and made little eye contact. Boyfriend ordered a sandwich without onions only to get served onions. Stuff happens so he picked them off and put them on a napkin. The waitress came to our table about 2 or 3 times after and didn't acknowledge that his order was messed up. I don't know why I continue to come here. I love the food, and I loved the Olga's of old, but the customer service here is always deplorable. They have two tiny tables stuffed near a wall near the entrance they always try to sit you at even when they are clearly other more comfortable tables available. I wish they would just get rid of those tables. Secondly, the hostess has a terrible attitude, and everyone is very slow. I see it was recently voted best workplaces, and my guess is, the management is very lax and lazy. I've worked in the food service industry for a good portion of my life including an Olga's. The manager (Jeff) reached out and invited us to give this location another shot. Today was a complete difference. We got seated right away. The server (Lauren) was super friendly and attentive. She kept up with refills and make sure everything was great. Snickers were delicious first time they came out. The floors and tables were clean as well as the glassware. Olga's has got to be the most underappreciated Sandwich Franchise on Earth. This place is a true Michigan Icon and I have never ever had a bad sandwich here or at any store. Their entire menu is good as a matter of fact. The Canton Olga's is a clean place with nice lighting and offers patrons a nice place to have a good meal and have a nice chat with friends, families, or yourself. (When I take an Olga's bite, I'm always asking myself, "Is this heaven or is this for real?") The staff is wise on the menu but more importantly, very nice people. Pretty sure Olga's only hires the bestest of people. Their website is really helpful if you want to order food online. I highly recommend signing up for their emails. They send you awesome deals that include buy one sandwich get one free, which is always a plus if you have a wolf-like appetite like I do. What makes an Olga Original different than any other Gyro in town is definitely the pita bread. It comes out perfectly chewy and crisp. The bread also has a nice distinctive sweetness to it that you don't get at other places. It's really special. The sweetness enhances the fresh meaty flavor of the lamb. I like to add cheese to my Olga's sandwich. It's a cheese blend, but one of the cheeses is cheddar. As we all know, cheddar and meat go hand in hand for a special flavor experience. The onion, Olga's sauce, and tomatoes just brings everything together. The spinach pie and soups are really good too. The Peasant Soup will warm up your Fall/Winter with each tasty bite of comfort. I love extra Black Pepper to mine for an extra zing! My favorite item from this store is the Olga Snackers. Olga Snackers is an item that you won't find in any other state or place that sells gyros in the area. Olga Snackers is freshly fried Olga Bread that's topped in a special seasoning blend that hits every one of your taste senses on the tongue. It's savory, salty, zippy, fresh, a small trace of spicy, but not overpowering. It's really something out of this world and you really can not just eat one. You want them all. The snackers are served with a swiss almond spread that is also truly out of this world. It's creamy, it's festive, it's so tasty. What makes getting these snackers a great experience is how the crunchy on the outside, yet chewy on the inside snacker blends in with this creamy hearty, and flavorful cheese spread and creates an experience of both texture and taste. Each bite is magical. I think of these as Medditeranian Pretzel Bites or Nachos, except these are actually 50 times better. Olga's is a great Michigan Business and as long as they keep serving great food, I'll be supporting this mitten-based company. What's cool is the matriarch or Olga's, Mrs. Olga's actually stops in for meet & greets with the customers. I love this. I am looking forward to meeting her one day and thanking her for keeping Michiganders on a budget fed good food at very reasonable prices. read more
