I arrived right when it was open. The place was spacious and clean. I've never had Yemeni food before so i asked for recommendations. The waiter recommended chicken fahsah, which came with tandoori bread. The check stew was not very flavorful, a bit bland. The salsa was the same way. The bread was fresh. The dish was plenty for two people to share. I wanted to try a rice dish but they were all too much for one person. The waiter was friendly. Just had the most amazing experience at this restaurant. I walked in To get a to-go order. I was greeted by Gabriel, whom I'm assuming was the manager. He asked me if I'd ever had Yemeni food before, I told him I'd been there once before. Bro proceeded to recommend one of their more popular lamb dishes, I said "sounds good, sold" he hands me a Cup of tee while I waited. 10 minutes later he came out with my food. I pull out my wallet to pay, he insisted that the meal was on him, and would not take y money. I was blown away with this genuine act of kindness. This has never happened to me before. Love Sheeba. I've ordered from most of their locations, including Hamtramck and Dearborn. Lucky for me they opened yet another restaurant here in Canton and I could not be any happier. Every time I get food from here it's usually some kind of lamb dish with a bed of rice and their famous tanoor bread. The quality of the food is always consistently good and the portion sizes are quite generous. But more importantly than the food and even the nice interior is the staff. No matter what location I go to the employees are always kind and welcoming. On this particular pickup order they even gave me a cup of tea to warm me up on a very cold day without additional charge. First off the food is great, so the standard of Sheeba is well maintained. The parts I didn't like was wait time for seating, one hostess sat people who came after us, on a table of four and we were party of four. One hostess who was taking our order was said whatever we wanted to eat was out or finished for the night lentil soup, hummus, or juice. The did not state juice can't be made cuz the machine is not here, she just said we are out. As we were about to leave the manager came told us to sit down and they will treat us to authentic yemeni dinner on the house. Than we were asked what we would like, I said anything but no lamb, they said u have to try our lamb, I said OK pls than get us something chicken as well. They brought us the platter of 2, 2 types of salads and one chicken dish. It was all good the food was flavorful no complaints there, but the fact when we were served a bill, we are like what? But even than I said it's OK I was going to pay them something, I opened the bill to see, we got charged $225, we looked at each other did we just eat gold? An other incompetent hostess mistake oh sorry that's not your bill, I said OK, than she goes back brings our bill of $80 with a $15 discount. Totalling our bill to $69 something with tax. I was like I am not going to argue, we paid! The whole point is we didn't come out to eat the food we were offered but we paid for it when we didn't even place an order. And than we are billed for it. That's just wrong way to conduct business. It's Muslim Halal food place but deception can only take you so long. It's sad I have to say this, but that's an honest opinion. None of the hostess are wearing a name tag, they are all confused only one greeted us with smile. Place is crowded and small but everything is new and sparkling, the bathroom were clean for the amount of ppl at the place. The beautiful decor does feel clean and authentic. Wish my first experience was better, the desserts are also great and we were given them for free and also served with Yemeni tea. Absolutely amazing! Started with small order of hummus, delicious fresh pita bread. We had the chicken shawarma and chicken haneeth. Both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Owner came over and introduced himself and welcomed us to the new establishment. He went the extra step to make sure we tried another dish he had prepared. I believe it was the lamb haneeth, the meat was so savory. Then he wouldn't let us leave without trying the pistachio cake as well, very interesting. My girlfriend describes it like Yemen version of tres leches. We finished the meal with traditional tea, it did not disappoint. Dining area is clean and very upscale appearance.
