Absolutely amazing! Started with small order of hummus, delicious fresh pita bread. We had the chicken shawarma and chicken haneeth. Both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Owner came over and introduced himself and welcomed us to the new establishment. He went the extra step to make sure we tried another dish he had prepared. I believe it was the lamb haneeth, the meat was so savory. Then he wouldn't let us leave without trying the pistachio cake as well, very interesting. My girlfriend describes it like Yemen version of tres leches. We finished the meal with traditional tea, it did not disappoint. Dining area is clean and very upscale appearance. I was serving 16 people for dinner and ordered 2 8-person family meals for takeout. The staff was professional, helpful, and courteous. The price was quite reasonable given what's included. The food was hot and ready on time. They even helped bring my order out to the car. The dishes were varied and portions very generous. First time here. All I can say is that I am mad at myself for not trying this establishment sooner. Every item we had was in large portions. I came here with high expectations but unfortunately never made it to my meal. I think this place is it really well organized. The hostess was talking to a gentleman at the front counter while I was standing there with nobody else around. I was there to be seated for dinner And I felt invisible. I finally had to interrupt the conversation and ask if I could be seated and she looked at me like she didn't know what I was talking about. OK so I get seated. Only to sit at the table and be ignored, again. I set the timer on my phone and 14 minutes later no one has stop by my table. At this point I already know I'm going to leave but I just watch the action going on in the restaurant and the food might be decent although I will never know but this is not a well run restaurant. After 15 minutes of sitting at the table I grabbed my purse stood up and walked out the front door. Went there for my dad's birthday brunch and we loved everything about the restaurant - their food was very flavorful and the service was amazing- shout out to our waiter Abbas who did a phenomenal job with everything- he was organized and efficient, brought everything out to the correct person despite being a large group of chaotic people, and also offered to take our photo at the end. Since we did not know much about Yemeni food, we took the owner's recommendation - and his choice did not disappoint! Also ordered was the Aghda and it's the best I've ever had, it was tender lamb meat with chunks of veggies in a stew! Lastly, the lamb haneeth over rice is delicious!!!! This was our first visit to the Canton restaurant. We had a party of five. The service was excellent -- quick and pleasant. The food came out hot and delicious. I enjoyed how the flavors were strong, you really taste the food. The portions were plentiful -- we each took home enough leftovers for a second meal. Their Tanoor bread was fresh and flavorful, whether coupled with the garlic sauce (a clear hit with our group -- one of our party enjoyed the sauce on his Mandi rice), or used to soak up some of my Chicken Agdah, or just by itself. The spiced tea at the end of the meal was an unexpected but delightful touch, and it left us with a pleasant aftertaste. Some of us overate, if that tells you anything. read more

I had a great experience with this Sheeba location! Last weekend, the Muslim Student Association at Northville High School held our annual Iftar dinner at this location and was overjoyed with the results. We were situated in the ballroom which allowed us our own quiet private seating area. Albeit, it was a little small, it worked just fine for our event. We had a tight budget and could only order three of the platters for eight which wasn't enough for the group we had, however, the manager brought out two plates of chicken on the house which ended up being the perfect amount of food! The service and food was definitely five star at Sheeba. They were genuinely happy to share their ethnic food with us, which was delicious. It stayed hot forever with their clay bowls. We brought my mother in law who is not used to ethnic foods and she was really skeptical but she was so impressed with everything. The owner/manager came out and treated us to cake and tea. We stopped in here one Saturday evening. We were seated right away as open tables were available. Other customers came in after us and were seated around us at different tables. We waited. We sat at our table with a carafe of water (no drinking glasses) while assuming someone would come by and ask us for our drink or even food order. We waited patiently and noticed other tables around us were being taken care of by the waitstaff. At least two tables had been seated after us and their orders were taken. There was no communication to us. Not even, "we will be with you in a minute" or "sorry for the delay". We tried to get one of the many servers attention, as there were plenty of them behind the front counter, but to no avail. We felt invisible in this place and made the tough decision to leave. We were hoping to celebrate a birthday at Sheeba and also leave with a carry out order. As we were leaving, we were told the reason we weren't served was because we did not have a reservation. We did receive an apology. Too little, too late. Usually reservations get you a table, not a pass go card to order ahead of other patrons. If this is their policy, it should be explained before being seated. At that point one could make the decision to stay or leave. At least take a drink order to make the customer feel significant and appreciated. We ended up at a different place, were respected, acknowledged and ate well. We even ran into friends at Sheeba, who were just finishing their meal, they wondered why we were leaving, we had to explain to them why. This is the unfortunate because we have been to Sheeba plenty of times. It had become one of our favorite places and we referred everyone there. After this experience we probably will not return.
