I really enjoyed the food. A Large fresh salad was included as well as warm pita bread! Everything was fresh, delicious and generous amounts of each. Packaged securely.

    Salad

I've ordered from this place several times and I've had more good experiences than bad experiences there but today was the THIRD time they gave me a salad with spoiled brown lettuce and slimy onion. It was not edible at all. The rice that came with the entree was also hard and clearly not fresh. I called and spoke to one of the workers and he was very nice and apologetic. He offered to have it remade but I was heading to work so I didn't have time to go pick up another order so I asked for a refund. He said he couldn't do a refund without the owners permission and put me on hold to talk to him. I talked to the owner and explained the situation and he told me "I'll take care of you next time". I asked for a refund and his tone changed and he said "ok bring the food back in". I said I'm literally on my way to work and he said ok bring the food back after work. I said I can bring the food back tomorrow because they will be closed by the time I get off work and he said ok. At that point it was not only a waste of my money but also a waste of my time. So after I hung up I decided I'll just write a review and they can see a picture of the food because I'm not wasting my time driving back for them to believe me that they served poor quality food. I will definitely not be returning and I do not recommend this place.

Food and service were good. They have good sized portions and fresh bread hot out the oven. With Mediterranean/Arabic restaurants being pretty common in this area, they didn't really stick out as something new or above and beyond. The seating area was a little old and in need of a little updating and cleaning. Nothing special but also no real complaints. A good local spot. I would return if in the area but not go out of my way to get here.

I'm honestly not sure why Shisho Palace has less than 4 stars on Yelp. Their grilled platter for two was amazing - all the meats were cooked perfectly. The chicken was so juicy, the lamb chops were absolutely succulent - definitely recommend. Their bread is also out of this world - when you know, you know!

Love the fresh bread and garlic. We had friendly service. Large space for dine in but take out was also busy. Salad was fresh and I liked the dressing. I will visit again.

Chicken sautéed with mushroom, beef shawarma, bread and hummus

I have been to La Shisho a few times but for some reason never left them a review. The last time I was in Detroit visiting my children, I stopped by here to grab some lunch. I ordered a beef shawarma sandwich and a sautéed chicken with musroom (lunch portion) that came with hummus and tons of pita bread. The Shawarma was on point. It was packed with beef and tzatziki sauce and the all the fixings. The grilled chicken n mushroom was delicious and seasoned very well. Their hummus is good and a perfect compliment to the pita bread. They also have a spicy version of hummus available which is better. They have this lamb with hummus dish which I think is their cream of the crop. It comes with either regular or spicy hummus. My recommendation is to definitely try that dish. While the greater city of Detroit offers many middle eastern restaurants, La Shisho is another venue not to be missed.

The entire place was disgustingly filthy. I know what the DIDN'T do during the Covid shut-down...

Is this restaurant affiliated in any way with the family who owned the large restaurant chain La Shish?

I asked and was told that they are relatives, but the original owner has nothing to do with this place.

Located off the busy Ford Rd inside a plaza conveniently next to Luca Bakery, this restaurant has tenders, wings, sandwiches and wraps. I got 2 individual tenders because I wasn't that hungry and wanted to know what their chicken was all about. Each tender was $4.29 before taxes, but wow were they huge. I also had them make mine "hot" which was the second hottest spice level they offered. Not only were these tenders absolutely huge, but I loved how juicy they were and the thick crunchy batter (which is probably why they look so big). Only reason is I won't give this place a perfect rating is because it doesn't really stand out compared to other hot chicken places, and it's overpriced. I wish more of them offered bone in chicken options

The store is always clean, well-stocked, and has a great selection, but what really sets it apart is the people behind it. Marvin, the owner, is one of the most genuine and hardworking people you'll meet. He clearly takes pride in his store and in serving the Canton community. You can tell he cares about the customers and the neighborhood, and that kind of leadership shows throughout the entire place. His sons and the rest of the staff are just as friendly and helpful. Everyone greets you with a smile and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. It's the kind of place where you're treated like a neighbor rather than just another customer. Marvin also does a lot for the community, which makes supporting this business feel even better. It's great to see a local owner giving back and building something positive for Canton. They brought the brisket up to the front counter for me to purchase. I am used to picking out my own meat and specifically looking at the sell by date so I just didn't think of it with this process. When I got home I noticed the sell by date was the very day I purchased this large roast. No one even mentioned this fact Or explained anything In regards to the sell by date. I am not planning on cooking the roast for several days Which will be this coming weekend. i did call and they assured me that the brisket would be fine for the weekend, but the point is that I would never have bought it if I knew or saw the sale by date. Perhaps if the butcher would have explained it initially, I would have been more comfortable. It was a very bad first experience and I will never go back.

So, in addition to stocking up on meat pies, spinach pies, and cheese manaeesh (flatbread) I also ordered lunch! They have a variety of sandwich pita wraps, manaeesh with a variety of different toppings, a few dinner plates, and the manau-wich, which is a wrapped sandwich made with their cheese manaeesh instead of pita. I ended up going with the chicken shawarma version of that and it was really good! Pretty rich with all that extra cheese but very good! I got the combo which also included a drink and fries, making it a hearty meal, especially for lunch. The sandwich was pretty good size, too, and could easily make two meals given how hearty it was. There's a bit of seating inside so waiting for my order was comfortable but I could see it filling up quickly during lunch rush. I think I'd most likely do takeout. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice and patient with me as I got myself familiar with their menu. Would definitely make my way back here for a bite, some baked goods to go, or both! PS--for a larger baked good selection come earlier in the day, I got the meat pies I wanted but I definitely cleaned them out.

I enjoyed the food, but I was not a fan of the service. I won't go into details about that, but my point is I didn't want to give them business when there were plenty of bakeries I felt were more deserving of my money. But of course like many other restaurants in Dearborn they decided to open shop in Canton. Decided to give them a chance, so I ordered one item that I considered a classic item for me and one that was a relatively new addition. This led me to get a cheese and pepperoni manaeesh as well as the hot honey buffalo chicken slider (which came recommended by the cashier who claimed it was his idea). I will say I was pleased with the service here and I throughly enjoyed the food which was made fresh. My only complaint was the chicken slider was too messy and the buns barely existed so holding it was a pain. Beyond that the place looks like a typical Lebanese owned bakery which felt authentic to me. It's definitely a take out place, but you can't go wrong eating there if you don't mind the simple feel. Overall we were satisfied with our meal, but I have to admit I wasn't a fan of the presentation of the sandwiches. I understand that taking food to go runs the risk of them being messy, but that was never really a problem for me with Potbelly as they were always good with wrapping them. I was annoyed mostly by how thick the avocado was in my sandwich because it made all the other ingredients slip and slide so it didn't hold well. Flavor was there, just needed a little more care.
