First time here, seeing all the reviews thought of giving it a try. Placed take out order through phone and my order was ready in 15 minutes. Friendly owner and a clean place. Ordered : Shish Kafta Wrap Chicken Kabob Wrap Falafel Platter Falafel platter was served with Tahini sauce and pickles. Falafel tasted good but the dressing or the salad that were packed along made it soggy in the bottom. Good flavor though. Chicken Kabob Wrap was okay. Shish Kofta Wrap wasn't char grilled. Probably the best chicken shawarma I've had in MI, and that's a lot! Not sure what it is about their shawarma, but the meat is so tender, the spices are perfect, the garlic sauce on point. A group of friends and I ordered takeout a few weekends ago, so as not to disrupt a whole dining area with our kids. I ordered a shawarma with rice with almonds and pita. I didn't realize rice with almonds was already a given side when I looked online as the menu didn't specify. Lesson learned for next time. The owner was extremely friendly and gracious, service that is hard to come by these days! That alone bumped this review up by a star. Overall the shawarma was ok. The meat was tender, juicy, seasoned good. The rice was fluffy and delicious. The one thing I was a little disappointed about was the lack of pickles and the pita bread. I love that fresh out of the oven, homemade pita bread and believe that can take any meal to the next level. This pita bread was thin and flat. It was good, but I found myself a little disappointed by it. Overall, Sultan's Express was very tasty and I really enjoyed it. My hunger shawarma pangs landed me at sultan express. It's located right next to 7/11 gas station. As the name suggests, this joint is basically a pick up venue for Arabic food. Think yourself as going inside a papa John or dominoes. As I walked in, I was greeted by the owner who was very cordial and friendly. He even thanked me for the business and wished me off with a pleasant goodbye. They serve pizza and Mediterranean sandwiches. I got a beef shawarma and a mega shawarma with chicken. Mega doubles the meat and I felt the pita was bigger to accommodate the extra meat. While waiting, the orders were pouring in via phone calls and I noticed him taking orders for wings a lot. Perhaps they are known for some good wings. The shawarma were excellent. The meat was juicy, and very well seasoned. I did not take a photo, because there is nothing to show forth on a packaged shawarma. Plus my pet peeve is to eat a dripping, sloppy shawarma after unfolding it, so no photos. I have driven by this restaurant several times but have never stopped. This time I popped on the website and noticed the great value they had in their combo meals. I ordered the chicken kebab combo. It came with choice of soup or salad, I went with the crushed lentil. Five pieces of chicken grilled perfectly. The combo also included rice, hummus and garlic sauce along with a pita bread. As I said before, excellent value at $7 and change for the meal. All food tasted good and fresh. What pushed me to rate it five stars was the customer service. The young man who cooked and brought out my food was very pleasant and even made sure I had flatware and a menu for further ordering. Meals like this at competitors don't exist for combos. Probably closer to 2.5, but I'll bump it up for the friendly service. Came here last night because I was craving some chicken shwarma and rice, but didn't want to pig out and order from other Canton joints. Thought this would be a nice alternative. AMBIANCE- this place is take out only (as the name might suggest). It's located right next to the 7-11, so convenient if you need a big gulp with your dinner. SERVICE- as I mentioned before, the guys working there were pretty friendly. The guy on the phone was able to explain a couple of the menu items I had questions on, and when I came to pick up made it a point to say hi to my 6 year old son. MENU- I wasn't sure what to make of this place when I was looking at their menu- they have middle eastern entrees and sandwiches (falafel, shwarma, gallabah), but then they had things like subs and pizza. Generally these "fusion" places scare me, and they are typically better at one thing than the other. Still, I had a craving, and wasn't going to be stopped. FOOD- ended up ordering the chicken shwarma entree which came with a side of hummus and, rice and lentil soup. Let me first say, for 10.95 it was a lot of food. The side of hummus was probably enough for my family and I. The chicken shwarma was decent and the garlic sauce was a little sour (weird). The rice is, well rice, and it was good, and I could taste the chicken boullion in their lentil soup, but it was still tasty. OVERALL- meh. I am giving them 3 only because of what I have tired, pizza wings and hummous are worth coming back to. I spent $55 and tried philly sub, soup, wings, pizza, and Hummous. The service was slow, subs were a big disappointment, there Gyro meat in PHILLY CHEESE STEAK SUB, someone teach them or they should google philly sub. Soup is made for a sick person, no seasoning or salt, on a happy note pizza and wings were amazing!! Thats what won me over, but I wouldn't give them 3 star. read more

My favorite Mediterranean place to eat! I normally go to the one in East Lansing but I was in the area so I decided to try this one out. This one did not disappoint! I went in for a takeout order but when I got there I realized they had a lot of seating. Next time I would go in and sit down. I got the sultans combo for one because I couldn't decide. Ordered a carry out today. Same meal that I got last time. This time I wasn't as impressed. Still good just not as good as the first time. The chicken didn't have that tawook taste to it that it had last time. The rice was good. The sale had too much dressing on it. I wish they would just put it on the side for carry out. I'll be coming back I guess but probably not as much as I have originally thought I was going to. Oh! Also I asked for extra garlic but I didn't have an extra side in my bag when I got home. I have ordered pizza from Sultan's many times along with chicken wings and they are always great. However, I went in for the first time to their new location on Sheldon Rd with my family and dined in. Very comfortable and plenty of seating. Ton of food options for the picky eaters in my family. My kids enjoyed the Crispy Chicken Sub, Shish Kafta sandwich and Philly Steak. I had the Chicken Manousha sandwich which is amazing! Highly recommend that if you are hungry, very filling. Like Joyce I went shortly after they opened. It was absolutely horrible! Thankfully the owner listed to his customers. About 90% of the original staff is now gone and they have new recipes. I gave them another chance about 4 months after they opened and it was delicious. Nothing like the crap I had right after opening. Now I order a pizza from them at least once a week. I partake of Middle Eastern food very infrequently. It seems like every M.E. restaurant has the same menu with expensive, dry, disappointing food. Tonight, I decided to get take-out from this restaurant. Why ? My wife had been there before and she said it was very, very good. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Combo. It comes with the Chicken Shawarma, rice, pita bread, garlic paste, hummus, and your choice of soup or salad. I had asked what the soup was and fellow behind the counter told me that it was lentil. He said, sir - Please, taste it. He gave me a taste of the soup in a sample serving container. Oh My. The soup was so good. No choice. I will have the soup instead of the salad, hands-down. They told me that my order would take 10 mins to prepare. They were spot on. When the order was ready, I eagerly drove home. Thankfully, I only live 3 miles, away. Dinner was incredible. We tried Mama Pizza large pizza and garlic bread shortly after they opened. The numerous lawn signs on the side of the road lended to our spontaneous decision to give them a try.... and we couldn't pass up their $4.99 Grand Opening special. Well, that's $4.99 and a horrible experience I wish I could take back. The garlic bread was disgusting, with about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of sesame seeds on top. I've never had sesame seeds on garlic bread. Yuck. The pizza was so bland, and the cheese was rubbery. I really do want to support a local business-owner, but, sorry our first impression was not good at all. We threw away half of the food (which we never do);it was that bad. The road side lawn signs scattered about in front of the store are such an eye sore, too. read more

Great ingredients, low price, and absolutely delicious. We had the kufta kabob sandwich (wrap) and the falafel sandwich wrap and it came out to $8.48 with tax. The portions were small - they use a regular pita but just wrap it around the food instead of opening it up and stuffing it - but it was still filing, and the quality more than makes up for it. Mustafa really knocks the details out of the park. For example, both the falafel balls and the kabob had parsley inside. Also, everything is tender and juicy, including the falafel. I got a falafel sandwich with hummus and tabbouli (even though it's not on the menu, they let me make that substitution w/o extra charge). Prices are very reasonable and food is great.
