Best lunch option in this area by far. Bilal is not just a great person, but knows how to cook quite an array of varying cuisine. Everything I've ordered has been a hit! I do not like falafel, never have, but it came with the platter we ordered & it was really quite good. The difference was clear, he makes his own fresh falafel vs buying it from a local food vendor (frozen) & deep frying it longer than fresh requires, thus making it much dryer than necessary. If someone in your group does not like Mediterranean dishes, they have other subs & even make fresh burgers. Again, not frozen patties & grocery store bought buns. This place seems to do everything fresh! Lastly, if you like lentil soup, his is my favorite iteration I've had. Didnt know the guy 3 weeks ago, but he treats me like someone he's known for years. Do not let the shared gas station location fool you - this place is is a hidden gem. Upon landing at Detroit airport, I was searching for solid Mediterranean food in the vicinity and found the great reviews on Yelp for Billis. We ordered the veggie combo, French fries, and tzatziki and everything was AMAZING. I was a bit surprised and worried when we pulled up to the corner and saw that it was a restaurant within a convenience store / gas station, but the kitchen area looked sparkling clean, the food was DELICIOUS, the prices were awesome, and the service was friendly. The falafel was fantastic - crispy on the outside and softer on the inside with bits of whole chickpeas, the grape leaves were warm and some of the best I've had, the tzatziki was tangy and I wish I had ordered more, and the fries had some kind of magical seasoning on them that made them addictive! We got the 2 meal dinner. We have had it many times. This time it was much smaller less meaty,less veg, less everything. It came with a fattoush salad and it was soaked with dressing and had no pita or tomatoes like it used to. Also l the price went up . Won't buy it again. Its a quick service restaurant in citgo gas station it has small pleasant and neat seating arrangements. Being vegetarian its difficult to look up for food but this place has my heart for the falafel sandwich that we had. We asked for en extra spicy one and it tasted awesome. Okay this is my second review. I said I would try other dishes and I have been here 3 times this week. My second visit I did pickup. I ordered the Fattoush salad again with the vinaigrette and it did not taste the same. It also had chunks of carrots which I didn't understand. The taste may have been because the dressing taste different. I give t 6/10. My third visit I did DoorDash again because I didn't have time to pick it up. This time I ordered the Veggie Ghallaba entree. It consisted of sautéed tomatoes, onions, orange peppers and a few carrots. The flavor was very nice. Next time I would omit the onions. I'm not much of an onion person. The side salad tasted like the first one with vinaigrette dressing. I don't know if the smaller salads are more flavorful or maybe it was a hot or miss when I ordered the large salad alone. Overall very good place to have food. read more

This is a tiny place inside a gas station but pretty descent. Prices are pretty cheap. I have tried their chicken shawarma sandwich which was pretty descent ,considering there are so many better options in this area. I felt they should add more sauce to the sandwich making it less dry. They do add lots of meat but if the ratio of meat to sauce is off then the sandwich becomes very dry. read more

I tried this place a few months ago, it is in a corner of a gas station, set up like a mini fast food joint. I have gone to similar places and had very good food. Second, I was ignored for several minutes while the attendant did prep work. Third, when he finally came to take my order he answered the phone in the middle and took that order first (while) I was placing mine. He got my order wrong; I wanted an entree not a wrap. I didn't notice until I the food was ready. So I just went with it. When I went to eat it the bread was half dried out and the chicken was dried out and hard. I found out about Billie on Facebook, and decided to give them a try. They have a few small tables, but I decided to.get carryout. Working on Dearborn, I've tried some of the best Shawarma and Hummus in Michigan, so really didn't have high expectations... I ordered a medium hummus, large fattoush salad, and 3 sandwiches (Chicken Shawarma, Chicken Tawook and a Falafel). The hummus was on par with a lot of Dearborn restaurants I frequent, so that was a nice suprise. The Fattoush salad was fresh, the dressing was seasoned perfect, and the oita chips on top was plenty, and awesome! However, I knew the sandwiches would make or break this review. Needless to say, just like the hummus and salad, the were perfect. The Chicken Shawarma had the right mix of pickles to chicken and garlic/tahini sauce, and was very juicy and flavorful. My wife loved her Tawook and I thought the Falafel sandwich was probably the best Falafel I've ever tasted. It wad perfect. I called the order in and it was ready when I got there. If you are in Motown and you want Middle Eastern this is your spot. Do not be put off by the fuel station, this place is great. For my NYC people think Mamoun's, this place is definitely on par. I went in on chance and walked out with a feast. When I noticed that that had babaganouj and I didn't order the guys just put it in my bag. It went great with the hummus appetizer. The shawarma platter was great, the rice was perfect, not over cooked and dry nor overly wet. I also had a Gyro sandwich that was a perfect "appetizer" My only regret is that I don't come to DTW more often to enjoy this! Stopped in for lunch ! They have a good lunch special for $6.99 that comes with a shawarma , side and pop . I however didn't know that so they charged me separately for everything bringing my order to $13.00 I did get an extra shawarma however it still would have been less. So for me that kinda sucked. The fries I got where very good with some Cajun spice on them. The shawarma was good definitely worth stopping in for. I like that they use all white meat in their chicken Shawarma.
