This place is always busy - and for good reason. AMAZING hummus and shawarma. Everything I have tried here is great and fresh. Staff are always friendly. Small seating area inside - it is more of a takeout type place. read more

This a takeout place they do have seating but it's about 4 tables and very small but clean. The guys working there are always pleasant and friendly. The food is amazing. The fried Kibbie is better than any place even from any of the places in Dearborn. They are crispy outside and has a lot of meat on the inside. The shawarma sandwiches are so good. The sujuk sandwich is good with the garlic. The deboned chicken dinner is very flavorful. Hummus is silky smooth and tasty. The kebab dinner or sandwich is great. There pickles and pickled turnips have the right bite to them and pickling flavor. read more

The food was decent, but the service not so much. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap, fries, and a medium hummus. I knew the guy at the counter heard my hummus order because he told the guy in the kitchen to make a medium hummus but not to include radishes. I'm unsure if radishes are only for large orders of hummus, but the comment was weird. It turned out I wasn't charged for the hummus, nor was it included in my takeout order. If the clerk accidentally didn't include it in my initial charge, he should have told me rather than not include it at all. Another thing I was disappointed about was that the lunch special wasn't well advertised. After I put in my order, I saw on the back of the takeout menu that I could have ordered a chicken shawarma wrap, fries, drink, and a side for a few dollars less during lunch hours. The guy at the counter never mentioned it, which I think is dishonest. If there was a sign about the lunch special, it would probably increase the amount of customers at the restaurant. Why hide a good deal? The fries were delicious, hot, and crispy. The chicken shawarma was also tasty, with tender grilled chicken, pickles, and garlic sauce. No complaints about the food. Green Cedar is a decent place for Middle Eastern food, but make sure to check your receipt and your takeout order for missing items, and know that there is a lunch special rather than ordering separate items for more money when you can order a combo. read more

Great food and service with a smile, very friendly staff whenever I stop in. Love the chicken shawarmas and baby Greek salad.

Small location but big on flavor. The chicken is not too dry or greasy like another local place. The chicken has great flavor. I personally had the sujuk sandwich which hit the spot for spice. Very good! Prices are very reasonable. They do get a lot of carry out business and are very busy but that doesn't keep them from providing you good service. The gentleman taking orders was very calm and pleasant even though you could tell he was very busy. We will be back!! read more

The food was amazing! Ali was an amazing host and very inviting. We truly felt like we were sitting in a middle eastern home eating dinner. I can't say how amazing the food was. It was fresh, delicious, savory, and you could tell that love was stirred into every dish. This is definitely a go to anytime in the Livonia area. read more

Green Cedar has my favorite shawarmas. Take-out is always fast and efficient. The inside is stunning & beautifully decorated. Authentic Arabic food & the friendliest staff read more

I recently ordered the Chicken and Hummus ($13.99) here for takeout. The hummus was excellent--very smooth and creamy--but the chicken was tough and dry. The fattoush was not good (soggy and not fresh), and the bread (not made in-house) that came with my order wasn't my favorite either. It's possible I came on an off day, so I'd be open to visit again if I'm in the area but wouldn't make a special trip to come here. I'd definitely recommend their hummus if you visit, and I felt the portion was good value for the price. Service was very polite. When I visited (early August) the staff member I spoke with was not masked. There was a plexiglass barrier at the cash register, hand sanitizer was provided, and they were open for indoor dining. read more

One of the best Mediterranean places in the area, without a doubt. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich and fattoush salad for carryout which were both excellent. The foot was prepared quickly and the price was on-par with similar places in the area. There's definitely a reason this place has stellar reviews. I'll definitely be back! read more

It's always a good sign when you see a place very busy like green cedar! I ordered a fattoush salad with chicken and the chicken was amazing. However, the salad seemed like it came from a pre-made bag. After reading reviews I also ordered the hummus and I'm glad I did, it was some of the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be back to try more food from the menu read more

This place is a hidden gem for real!!! One of the best Arabic sandwiches around and let's not forget the salads

The food was excellent. The people extremely friendly. My 6 year old daughter told the cook we are big Fans and got a hug.

This was my first time going there got the chicken shawarma a d the meat shawarma sandwiches no flavour and they were very small for the price. read more

What a pleasant surprise. Drove by and decided to give this place visit. Glad I did. The chicken shawarma wrap is out of this world good - depending on who makes it. It's always good but sometimes great. Thus the 4 stars vs 5. The hummus and Yasmine flat bread are also very good. Prices are very reasonable. Parking is easy. read more

Outstanding quality food with super generous portions. Every item we had was fresh, well-seasoned, and served with such care. Personal faves were the tender and smoky shish kofta, falafel, and herbaceous fattoush. My partner raved about the stuffed grape leaves and the baba ganoush. Dine-in space is limited to 2-tops, and the ambience is warm and welcoming. read more

This place is small and you might not see it as you drive by but the food is really good and its priced really generously. They give you a lot of pita bread too. I like it. read more

Always great and reliable. Especially if you need catering or big parties, the platers are always good.

Taboulli had no cucumber. Average at best. Bread was cold. Chicken shawarma was amazing

A Shawarma That Steals the Show (and My Wife's Heart) If you're in the metro Detroit area and haven't tried Green Cedar's chicken shawarma, you're missing out on a culinary plot twist that could rival any soap opera. The garlic sauce alone deserves its own fan club, and the shawarma? Let's just say it's the Brad Pitt of sandwiches. Every week, my wife makes a pilgrimage to Green Cedar, and I can't blame her. The chicken shawarma is so good that it's started a family debate: is it better than my homemade sandwiches? The jury's still out, but let's be honest, the evidence is stacked against me. The verdict? Green Cedar's shawarma isn't just a meal; it's a taste bud awakening. It's the kind of sandwich that makes you question all your life choices up until that first bite. And the garlic sauce? It's the secret sauce of life, my friends. So, if you find yourself at Green Cedar, prepare to have your sandwich standards elevated to heavenly heights. Just don't tell my wife I admit to this! read more

Green Cedar - Cooking area. - Middle Eastern Near Me - Livonia, Michigan

Go here for reasonably priced and flavorful Middle Eastern food. I've been going to Green Cedar for years. It was recommended to me by some Lebanese neighbors as their go to spot for comfort food. I like to call in my order and pick up. I eat tabbouleh from their kitchen every week. Sure, it seems easy to make, but how much time do you want to spend cleaning and stripping parsley?! From time to time, I have it topped with grilled chicken or feta, but most of the time, just their standard tabbouleh to keep my eating fresh and healthy. This place has a healthy following, mostly for carryout. I've never been here when there isn't some kind of line. The staff knows many of the customers and their orders. The staff is helpful and friendly which makes the wait less cumbersome. I particularly like to see the interactions among the regulars themselves and the staff. read more

I first discovered this location when I first lived to Livonia, and was looking for a Mediterranean restaurant. After much trial and error, I finally discovered Green Cedar. As soon as I walk in, I'm greeted by the kindest staff that I've ever met in my life. So caring and sweet, and the food is amazing. My personal favorite is the chicken shawarma with fries, but my sisters ultimate favorite is their lamb shawarma well done! Always love coming in here and getting greeted with a smile and laugh. Definitely the best Mediterranean restaurant around! read more

Love the super deluxe sandwich - service is always great. Hummus is different here, almost creamy. Good stuff.

I mean, I love this place soooooooo much. We've never had bad food from here. We usually get the Green Cedar Platter (says it serves 3, but we've found it to serve 5-6 hungry adults easily). I'm adding the most recent menu pics because I know their pricing has changed. read more

That falafel super...DAYUMM. Add garlic. And then extra garlic on the side to dip everything into it. Your fries, the falafel, their veggie grape leaves (my fave), your fingers. Really just about everything, it's the bomb. The veggie grape leaves are my go to here. I'm personally not a fan of their meat grape leaves. Also Wally (owner) is my hero. I wish he was my dad! Honestly what a genuine good guy. Even more honestly, everyone there is great. Stop here for dinner with the family, they make you feel like an extension of their fam. The great food is a bonus!! PS they have some of the best fries I've had. read more

Green Cedar - Middle Eastern Near Me - Livonia, Michigan

Food is always good and fresh. Prices are decent I absolutely love the hummus and chicken shawarma combo.

When I first tried Green Cedar I had my doubts. I tried Middle Eastern food here and there, tried to like it but just wasn't impressed. That was until I was introduced to this joint by relatives that said it was their Go-To spot for the cuisine. I ordered their Chicken Shwarma sammie with pickles, small hummus and a small fattoush salad just to give it a go. Ever since the first time I had their food, I dont go amywhere else. The sharma chicken is perfectly seasoned and not wrapped in that thick smelly bread that most other places use. If you love hummus, this also has the best....perfectly creamy and flavor is to die for...i dont why you would want to go anywhere else. And of course the pita bread is good on it's own but even better dipped in the hummus. The one negative thing is that the hummus was too oily for my liking yet the flavors were so good that it superceded the oilyness. The overally packaging and presentation was simple and held up...no spills or seeping through the bag. Plus the staff is always friendly! What more do you want? I highly recommend if you haven't been here before! read more

We love this place. They know who we are even with masks on. Always quick to greet when you walk in and these guys are hustling in the kitchen. The sandwiches are always consistently good, which is probably why we come here so often. Ordered extra pickles and turnips this time and omg this was a game changer, the whole family devoured them all with our sandwiches. Which makes me happy that they enjoyed in but kind of bummed me out because that was for my lunch the next day, so next time I'll order two sides of that. Keep doing what you are doing fellas!! See you soon! read more

Green Cedar - Turnips and pickles. Look at the color from The beets in the juice/brine. Obsessed!! - Middle Eastern Near Me - Livonia, Michigan

We order lunch quite often and the food has never been anything less than fantastic.... EVERY SINGLE TIME !!! Consistently fantastic.

Service is good- one of the guys is very nice and always greets you with a hello and smile and then there are the two grumpy ones No matter how much you smile, try to engage in conversation they keep that strait , stoic expression- I wait for them to say "no soup for you" We had Kafka dinner and tawook dinner- both were excellent- I like how they arrange the veggies, meat and seasonings over the rice- hubby got his with baba g and tabouli instead of reg. Sides- I had mine with rice and salad- I ordered a side of hummus but they forgot to inc and the only reason we didn't call to complain was because the nice guy threw in a cucumber/ yogurt sauce ( cup) without charge and all I wanted was a small lil side- everything was fresh, flavorful and cooked perfectly- Yes, you can save $3-5 bucks going right into the heat of Dearborn- paying for convenience I don't mind keeping this place in our rotation of ME places- read more
