The food was decent, but the service not so much. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap, fries, and a medium hummus. I knew the guy at the counter heard my hummus order because he told the guy in the kitchen to make a medium hummus but not to include radishes. I'm unsure if radishes are only for large orders of hummus, but the comment was weird. It turned out I wasn't charged for the hummus, nor was it included in my takeout order. If the clerk accidentally didn't include it in my initial charge, he should have told me rather than not include it at all. Another thing I was disappointed about was that the lunch special wasn't well advertised. After I put in my order, I saw on the back of the takeout menu that I could have ordered a chicken shawarma wrap, fries, drink, and a side for a few dollars less during lunch hours. The guy at the counter never mentioned it, which I think is dishonest. If there was a sign about the lunch special, it would probably increase the amount of customers at the restaurant. Why hide a good deal? The fries were delicious, hot, and crispy. The chicken shawarma was also tasty, with tender grilled chicken, pickles, and garlic sauce. No complaints about the food. Green Cedar is a decent place for Middle Eastern food, but make sure to check your receipt and your takeout order for missing items, and know that there is a lunch special rather than ordering separate items for more money when you can order a combo. read more

Small location but big on flavor. The chicken is not too dry or greasy like another local place. The chicken has great flavor. I personally had the sujuk sandwich which hit the spot for spice. Very good! Prices are very reasonable. They do get a lot of carry out business and are very busy but that doesn't keep them from providing you good service. I recently ordered the Chicken and Hummus ($13.99) here for takeout. The hummus was excellent--very smooth and creamy--but the chicken was tough and dry. The fattoush was not good (soggy and not fresh), and the bread (not made in-house) that came with my order wasn't my favorite either. It's possible I came on an off day, so I'd be open to visit again if I'm in the area but wouldn't make a special trip to come here. I'd definitely recommend their hummus if you visit, and I felt the portion was good value for the price. Service was very polite. When I visited (early August) the staff member I spoke with was not masked. I like to call in my order and pick up. I eat tabbouleh from their kitchen every week. Sure, it seems easy to make, but how much time do you want to spend cleaning and stripping parsley?! From time to time, I have it topped with grilled chicken or feta, but most of the time, just their standard tabbouleh to keep my eating fresh and healthy. This place has a healthy following, mostly for carryout. I've never been here when there isn't some kind of line. The staff knows many of the customers and their orders. I first discovered this location when I first lived to Livonia, and was looking for a Mediterranean restaurant. After much trial and error, I finally discovered Green Cedar. As soon as I walk in, I'm greeted by the kindest staff that I've ever met in my life. So caring and sweet, and the food is amazing. My personal favorite is the chicken shawarma with fries, but my sisters ultimate favorite is their lamb shawarma well done! Always love coming in here and getting greeted with a smile and laugh. That falafel super...DAYUMM. Add garlic. And then extra garlic on the side to dip everything into it. Your fries, the falafel, their veggie grape leaves (my fave), your fingers. Really just about everything, it's the bomb. The veggie grape leaves are my go to here. I'm personally not a fan of their meat grape leaves. Also Wally (owner) is my hero. I wish he was my dad! When I first tried Green Cedar I had my doubts. I tried Middle Eastern food here and there, tried to like it but just wasn't impressed. That was until I was introduced to this joint by relatives that said it was their Go-To spot for the cuisine. I ordered their Chicken Shwarma sammie with pickles, small hummus and a small fattoush salad just to give it a go. Ever since the first time I had their food, I dont go amywhere else. The sharma chicken is perfectly seasoned and not wrapped in that thick smelly bread that most other places use. If you love hummus, this also has the best....perfectly creamy and flavor is to die for...i dont why you would want to go anywhere else. And of course the pita bread is good on it's own but even better dipped in the hummus. The one negative thing is that the hummus was too oily for my liking yet the flavors were so good that it superceded the oilyness. The overally packaging and presentation was simple and held up...no spills or seeping through the bag. Plus the staff is always friendly! What more do you want? We love this place. They know who we are even with masks on. Always quick to greet when you walk in and these guys are hustling in the kitchen.
