Ordered takeout from here numerous times in the past, can't believe I hadn't written a review! Their wrap sandwiches are delicious, the ingredients are fresh, the falafel is fluffy and moist, beef shawarma is juicy. The serving sizes are reasonable for the prices, sandwiches $9-10 (with main fillings such as chicken or beef schawarma, lamb kafta, or falafel), salads $8, mega wraps $17-18 (these are the size of a small/medium sized person's forearm, can feed 2-3 people or one hungry college student. They also have a number of sides which are tasty $6-8.50 which include baba ghanoush, arayes, pickled cabbage, grape leaves, hummus, lentil soup, mujaddra, rice and tabuli. I've eaten all of the main meat and falafel fillings in warp form and they are all great. The restaurant seems to get a mix of dine-in and takeout business, there's seating for about 20 people available, no frills though the interaction I've had with staff has always been friendly. The only small gripe I have is in my takeout orders occasionally they'll miss the baba ghanoush I've added in as an extra, which I don't usually find out until I've dug in. In the past several years they've had to increase prices due to inflation (no longer $7 for wraps as it was several years ago), though it's in line with general prices and still a good value for the yummy food you're getting! read more

I know a dozen spots in Dearborn for great Mediterranean food, hardly any in AA. Thank you, Yelp for recommending this gem. It's not busy. There's plenty of seats. It's appears to be clean. Clean enough for me, anyway. Plenty of parking and the service is quick. The best halal I've had in Michigan. The people are very nice and the wraps are huge, too. Between us we tried the Chicken Shawarma, Shawafel, Baba Ghanoush and of course the Hummus. All were fantastic! We're coming back in December to try the Haifa salad and the Arayes. I can't wait. We got takeout from Haifa based on a friend's recommendation and wow, I'm glad we listened! The arayes were a perfect starter - crispy, savory, and perfectly spiced. I opted for the falafel bowl and my husband got the steak bowl. Both were filling and we loved all of the vegetables and pickled sides that came with. But every time I fly into DTW and start the drive across the state, I always stop here. Always... Some of the best falafel on the planet, no exaggeration. I've traveled the world and eaten falafel in a lot of countries, and the way they make it at Haifa is superb. Sure: Every falafel place makes it slightly different, with influences from greek to egyptian and so on. The falafel at Haifa are small, bite-sized, well seasoned, expertly fried, and addictive. The sides, amazing. The sauces, perfect. Note: I'm not a meat eater so I can't speak to any meat items on the menu, but TRUST that the falafel is 10/10. AND they're kind, gracious, friendly people. I was in this place years ago, but I'm not sure if it was the same business then. This was an incredible trip! Quick story. My company gave me the day off today, so on a whim I checked and saw the day of appointments was wide open at the Secretary of State. I was literally in and out of there within 12 minutes total, including waiting in line for the security guy at the door. I remembered this location was here, and decided I'd give them another try, especially since my husband was so disappointed some tabbouli he got from some store a few days ago was fuzzy. I I was warmly greeted and quickly put my order in for the shawarma and fattoush combos and a side of tabouli for my husband, and waited. After checking in here, I saw that I got free falafel balls. I'm VERY inexperienced in middle eastern cuisine, and figured I'd give it a try since I've only had shawarma before. I got in the car and was instantly in love with the smells! I tried a falafel ball, and was in heaven! So crispy, hot, and flavorful - not at all what I was expecting. I got home and had my husband try it. He said it tasted like a hush puppy. He did however happily take my fattoush! (I took my falafel ball back and ate it.) The chicken shawarma was massive and so good. I got about 1/3 in and two bites of fattoush, and I'm now in a happy food coma. I have one other massive chicken shawarma, as well as the other 2/3 from the one I grabbed, and I'm not sure I want to share with my kids or husband! This is one of the most surprising and delicious food experiences that I've had in a while. It might be one of my favorite places after this trip. I stopped in because this place is so close to my son's house. It's a clean, simple spot with ample parking. I was greeted right away and offered loyalty points in their program. I'm a huge fan of loyalty programs, so of course I jumped on it. I got: baba, hummous, and the steak shawarma sandwich. All were excellent! The baba was creamy, and still had a little eggplant texture. The shawarma was amazing. It was grilled on the outside so it was nicely crisped. We came here with a check-in incentive offer. Although the establishment honored my free falafel balls, they said that the offer had expired. I don't know if this was Yelp's issue, or not, but it is embarrassing when this happens. The food was excellent! Service was relatively fast. The ambiance is very casual. There are only a out 10 tables for eat-in dining. The Greek salad was delicious.i especially enjoyed the green olives. Even my granddaughter was a fan. We also ordered the Pick 3 sampler. After a quick Yelp search to check out the menu and good photos, we made our way over one recent weekday for a bite. Located on Washtenaw on the west side of Ypsilanti, Haifa is tucked away in the quiet corner of Glenview Crossing shopping center. After perusing the menu, I decided on a Fattoush Salad and a side of Falafel. We paid at the register, and waited for a few short minutes before our orders were ready. Portions are more than generous here, as I found myself only able to get through about half of my salad (and saving the rest for lunch the following day). I managed to finish the falafel, though, and highly recommend that you pick up some when you go by. I loved getting a generous portion of a healthy food for lunch, and discovering a new place all at once! I really like this place. The food is fresh, the owner, Ali, is great. My top two things that I order: chicken shawarma sandwich and shawarma bowl (with mujadara). I will sometimes order something else, but these are my top two favorites. The cabbage stuff on the bowl and in the sandwich are really what set this place apart. That and the seasoning on the shawarma. Oh, and the sauces are pretty good too. Haha, okay it's all good. I come from Dearborn, so I am used to ME food that is a little more simple - which I also love. This isn't going to be like the stuff coming out of Dearborn, so just be aware of that. It's not that Dearborn is better, it's just different here. The only thing is that the seating inside is minimal and the floor is often sticky. When you walk in you place your order at the counter. The staff was friendly. Of course ordered the fattoush salad. There was a deal on yelp to get an order of six free falafel balls if you check in. There are tables inside of the restaurant to dine in. Our food was brought out to us in a timely manner. This was my first time having falafel. The falafel balls were served warm, were good and served with a marinara sauce but I'm not sure if I would order them again. I was happy that they gave us more than six falafel balls. The fattoush salad was a large portion and was served with fried pita bread. I would definitely get this salad again. This has become our go-to place for chicken shwarma in the AA/Ypsilanti area. I've tried a lot of shwarma as there are half a dozen places to get it nearby. Haifa's chicken shwarma is a big sandwich, packed with chicken and lots of vegetables and sauce. The prices have gone up a little but that has happened all over since COVID. The place itself isn't much to look at but I've never eaten in. Not sure about the other dishes but the shwarma is top notch. read more

Ordered take away from Haifa Falafel recently and was very satisfied. We ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich, the fattoush with tawook, and the 6 free falafel balls from the Yelp offer. The falafel balls were very crispy on the outside and came with a delicious dill tahini sauce that was to die for. The fattoush was bright, fresh, and perfectly dressed, though the chicken was just a little bit dry by the time we had picked it up. The chicken shawarma was outstanding and had a little bit of everything. The chicken was tender and the sauces, while a bit messy, were killer. The order took ~15 minutes to prepare and the portion sizes were a huge bang for your buck. My boyfriend and I decided to come here because we were craving arabic food. The inside was pretty small and the workers were nice. They seemed overwhelmed. We both ordered bowls with chicken and we used the yelp offer. We both have yelp so we got 12 falafel balls (initially they tried telling us one offer per order)! Unfortunately, the falafel wasn't good. This was disappointing considering it literally has the word in its name. It's not that they lakced flavor, the spice was just odd and too much. Also, they were very mushy on the inside and didn't taste like falafel at all. They also looked very different on the outside and inside. Anyway, the bowl was interesting. It came with cabbage and a tomato sauce layered over the rice. The rice was pretty good, overall I think the bowl lacked flavor. I did not like the dill sauce, but I needed to use it to add some flavor to the bowl. I'm not sure if it was because the chicken lacked flavor or what. I think they definitely need to add some sort of sauce over the bowl to increase the flavor. The worst part is that I felt sick. Shortly after eating here I started having stomach pain. My boyfriend felt fine. I wouldn't come back, and not because I felt sick. While eating it I realized that I would not return because it was not appetizing to me. I stopped in for lunch and decided to try the shish tawook plate. Service was fast and no nonsense and the food was piping hot. The dill sauce it was served with was delicious and the hummus was pretty good. The chicken, however, left a lot to be desired. There was no char or crisp to the meat and there was a lot of tendon and connective tissue still on the meat that should have been trimmed on the boneless chicken breast. It could have been cooked longer as well, since it was cooked to proper temperature but just not super tender and didn't have a great mouth-feel.
