I know a dozen spots in Dearborn for great Mediterranean food, hardly any in AA. Thank you, Yelp for recommending this gem. It's not busy. There's plenty of seats. It's appears to be clean. Clean enough for me, anyway. Plenty of parking and the service is quick. The best halal I've had in Michigan. The people are very nice and the wraps are huge, too. Between us we tried the Chicken Shawarma, Shawafel, Baba Ghanoush and of course the Hummus. All were fantastic! We're coming back in December to try the Haifa salad and the Arayes. I can't wait. Super stoked to try it all!!! 11/24 read more

Good prices for good sizes! We first tried the wraps here and it was good and huge!! Came back and tried their chicken bowl. Their chicken was cooked well and not dry at all. However, I didn't like the tomato sauce on the rice that was included (it doesn't say anything about it in the description either). There is sufficient seating and I liked that they had ice water and room temperature water to choose from. You can order using the screen or in person. read more

Haifa Falafel - tawook sandwich - Middle Eastern Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

Ordered takeout from here numerous times in the past, can't believe I hadn't written a review! Their wrap sandwiches are delicious, the ingredients are fresh, the falafel is fluffy and moist, beef shawarma is juicy. The serving sizes are reasonable for the prices, sandwiches $9-10 (with main fillings such as chicken or beef schawarma, lamb kafta, or falafel), salads $8, mega wraps $17-18 (these are the size of a small/medium sized person's forearm, can feed 2-3 people or one hungry college student. They also have a number of sides which are tasty $6-8.50 which include baba ghanoush, arayes, pickled cabbage, grape leaves, hummus, lentil soup, mujaddra, rice and tabuli. I've eaten all of the main meat and falafel fillings in warp form and they are all great. The restaurant seems to get a mix of dine-in and takeout business, there's seating for about 20 people available, no frills though the interaction I've had with staff has always been friendly. The only small gripe I have is in my takeout orders occasionally they'll miss the baba ghanoush I've added in as an extra, which I don't usually find out until I've dug in. In the past several years they've had to increase prices due to inflation (no longer $7 for wraps as it was several years ago), though it's in line with general prices and still a good value for the yummy food you're getting! read more

The menu has enlarged significantly but the food is as good or better than it was before. My favourites? The falafel, of course, the mjadra, the eggplant sandwich, and the lentil soup- but it's all excellent. read more

We got takeout from Haifa based on a friend's recommendation and wow, I'm glad we listened! The arayes were a perfect starter - crispy, savory, and perfectly spiced. I opted for the falafel bowl and my husband got the steak bowl. Both were filling and we loved all of the vegetables and pickled sides that came with. We thought the falafel was better than the steak, so will be sure to order more falafels next time. There will definitely be a next time - we can't wait to come back! read more

Haifa Falafel - Falafel bowl with Arayes - Middle Eastern Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

This place is a pilgrimage for me. Seriously. I've never even lived close to Haifa Falafel. I don't even live in MI anymore... But every time I fly into DTW and start the drive across the state, I always stop here. Always... Some of the best falafel on the planet, no exaggeration. I've traveled the world and eaten falafel in a lot of countries, and the way they make it at Haifa is superb. Sure: Every falafel place makes it slightly different, with influences from greek to egyptian and so on. The falafel at Haifa are small, bite-sized, well seasoned, expertly fried, and addictive. The sides, amazing. The sauces, perfect. Note: I'm not a meat eater so I can't speak to any meat items on the menu, but TRUST that the falafel is 10/10. AND they're kind, gracious, friendly people. Go support them, you'll thank you. read more

I was in this place years ago, but I'm not sure if it was the same business then. This was an incredible trip! Quick story. My company gave me the day off today, so on a whim I checked and saw the day of appointments was wide open at the Secretary of State. I was literally in and out of there within 12 minutes total, including waiting in line for the security guy at the door. I remembered this location was here, and decided I'd give them another try, especially since my husband was so disappointed some tabbouli he got from some store a few days ago was fuzzy. I I was warmly greeted and quickly put my order in for the shawarma and fattoush combos and a side of tabouli for my husband, and waited. After checking in here, I saw that I got free falafel balls. I'm VERY inexperienced in middle eastern cuisine, and figured I'd give it a try since I've only had shawarma before. I got in the car and was instantly in love with the smells! I tried a falafel ball, and was in heaven! So crispy, hot, and flavorful - not at all what I was expecting. I got home and had my husband try it. He said it tasted like a hush puppy. He did however happily take my fattoush! (I took my falafel ball back and ate it.) The chicken shawarma was massive and so good. I got about 1/3 in and two bites of fattoush, and I'm now in a happy food coma. I have one other massive chicken shawarma, as well as the other 2/3 from the one I grabbed, and I'm not sure I want to share with my kids or husband! This is one of the most surprising and delicious food experiences that I've had in a while. It might be one of my favorite places after this trip. I now know where to stop or have someone stop to get food the next time we can't decide what to eat. Under $30 before tax and tip with enough to feed 4 adults very well! read more

I stopped in because this place is so close to my son's house. It's a clean, simple spot with ample parking. I was greeted right away and offered loyalty points in their program. I'm a huge fan of loyalty programs, so of course I jumped on it. I got: baba, hummous, and the steak shawarma sandwich. All were excellent! The baba was creamy, and still had a little eggplant texture. The shawarma was amazing. It was grilled on the outside so it was nicely crisped. It was full of fresh, finely chopped veggies and managed to be filling yet light simultaneously. I will definitely return to try some of the unique items and cash in points! read more

I ordered the chicken swarma minus onions and tomatoes. 100000% recommend! It was grilled like a panini. Hot and freshly made. The hummus with the extra sauce really made this stand out and taste so delicious. Give it a try!! read more

I can only comment on the chicken tawook sandwich I ordered. It had less of a garlic sauce and more of a warm spiced sauce. It was great! I was very happy to have a different spin on it. I usually have the sandwiches in Dearborn at authentic restaurants. These seemed authentic but with a different sauce. Loved it! read more

I order the fried eggplant sandwich, and it was awful. There something similar to the Big Mac secret sauce on it. Ick. This town has lots of other solid middle eastern options that deserve your patronage, so just go somewhere else. The real shame is that until a few years ago, there was a great Syrian deli in the same location. read more

We tried the pick 2 and pick 3 combos, and chose shwarma chicken, steak, lamb kafta, chicken tawook, falafel, hummus, mjudrara, and salad. The accompaniment of salsa-like sauce and dill yogurt sauce adds extra dimension to the meal. The mjudara's texture is particularly enjoyable, and the overall balance of tangy and umami flavors is noteworthy. However, the chicken and steak were found to be chewy. The falafel had a satisfying crunchy outter shell with a soft flavorful inside. read more

I've never had such fantastic falafel in the US. Somehow it's light AND fluffy AND crisp, and incredibly green and fresh tasting. Vegetarians should be super happy because their lentil soup and hummus and baba ha pun are all aces. We came here with a check-in incentive offer. Although the establishment honored my free falafel balls, they said that the offer had expired. I don't know if this was Yelp's issue, or not, but it is embarrassing when this happens. The food was excellent! Service was relatively fast. The ambiance is very casual. There are only a out 10 tables for eat-in dining. The Greek salad was delicious.i especially enjoyed the green olives. Even my granddaughter was a fan. We also ordered the Pick 3 sampler. It was very tasty. There was ample parking in the shopping center. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting this area. It was reasonably priced and good value. read more

Everything is amazing. I'll be back. Falafel the best. Also the sharama bowl..........

On the hunt for a great new lunch spot, my better half suggested trying Haifa Falafel. After a quick Yelp search to check out the menu and good photos, we made our way over one recent weekday for a bite. Located on Washtenaw on the west side of Ypsilanti, Haifa is tucked away in the quiet corner of Glenview Crossing shopping center. After perusing the menu, I decided on a Fattoush Salad and a side of Falafel. We paid at the register, and waited for a few short minutes before our orders were ready. Portions are more than generous here, as I found myself only able to get through about half of my salad (and saving the rest for lunch the following day). I managed to finish the falafel, though, and highly recommend that you pick up some when you go by. I loved getting a generous portion of a healthy food for lunch, and discovering a new place all at once! With the delicious flavors and great value, it won't be long before we head back to visit again. read more

I really like this place. The food is fresh, the owner, Ali, is great. My top two things that I order: chicken shawarma sandwich and shawarma bowl (with mujadara). I will sometimes order something else, but these are my top two favorites. The cabbage stuff on the bowl and in the sandwich are really what set this place apart. That and the seasoning on the shawarma. Oh, and the sauces are pretty good too. Haha, okay it's all good. I come from Dearborn, so I am used to ME food that is a little more simple - which I also love. This isn't going to be like the stuff coming out of Dearborn, so just be aware of that. It's not that Dearborn is better, it's just different here. The only thing is that the seating inside is minimal and the floor is often sticky. I go here at least a couple times a week though - so that should be a pretty strong indicator on how I feel about the place. read more

My favourite spot for Middle Eastern takeout. Best pita sandwiches and crushed lentil soup I've ever had. Fresh and delicious!

We get takeout here regularly. Always quick and consistently good. I love their chicken shawarma and usually get the haifa bowl with mujadara or plate with salad and hummus. Something about their dill dressing is addictive -- it makes anything taste delicious. They have excellent grape leaves, too. read more

One of my all-time favorite spots in the Ann Arbor area. Drove through a literal blizzard one time just because I needed their chicken shawarma. Food never misses, and the prices are fair too. read more

This place is fantastic. The food is off the chain. I walked in, and he handed me a piece of falafel, it was the best falafel I've ever had. That means a lot coming from an Arab. I decided to go with the Haifa Bowl with mujadawah & kafta. My God, it was absolutely fantastic. I also had the baklava. It was out of this world. And I had to order falafel to go. If you live near this place go, if you are near this place go! I am in town for the next three days and I'm thinking I will be back at least once. Amazing food! read more

Great food! Really nice people. We go at least once per week. Have been going since about 2009. Favorite thing is the falafel.

Note: this is a review for accessibility, not food! We were so excited to try middle eastern food on this trip, as we've heard such great things. We checked Yelp and the website and ordered a meal for pickup (since they didn't deliver to our hotel 7 miles away). Order sent, we ventured out because of the great reviews, despite having wanted to stay in. When we arrived everything was dark and the store was closed. Im sure with the pandemic, hours hav shifted. But then you need to have some indication - somewhere - that you aren't open at certain times. At minimum, do not accept online orders. read more

Decent Mediterranean food for a decent price. It seems like this place changed management over the past few years? Or the staff is just different. But regardless, usually pretty friendly. Dining area is cold and not very comfy. Most orders seem to be to go. No outdoor seating. Next to the Starbucks which is convenient if you like Starbucks. read more

I have been craving fattoush so my friend recommend this restaurant. The parking lot is shared with other businesses but we did not have an issue finding parking. When you walk in you place your order at the counter. The staff was friendly. Of course ordered the fattoush salad. There was a deal on yelp to get an order of six free falafel balls if you check in. There are tables inside of the restaurant to dine in. Our food was brought out to us in a timely manner. This was my first time having falafel. The falafel balls were served warm, were good and served with a marinara sauce but I'm not sure if I would order them again. I was happy that they gave us more than six falafel balls. The fattoush salad was a large portion and was served with fried pita bread. I would definitely get this salad again. I think it was worth the ten dollar price for the amount of salad and chicken that you get. read more

This has become our go-to place for chicken shwarma in the AA/Ypsilanti area. I've tried a lot of shwarma as there are half a dozen places to get it nearby. Haifa's chicken shwarma is a big sandwich, packed with chicken and lots of vegetables and sauce. The prices have gone up a little but that has happened all over since COVID. The place itself isn't much to look at but I've never eaten in. Not sure about the other dishes but the shwarma is top notch. read more

I'm a sucker for Mediterranean food and have tried many restaurants but this place is phenomenal. Best bang for your bucks! Fair price compared to other restaurants that I've been to but the portion is ridiculously generous (I mean, just looked at the photos attached). The boyfriend and I ordered the regular size of Chicken Wrap and the mega size of Steak Wrap. Perfect balance of meat and veggies in the sandwiches; flavorful and filling. Wish I lived closer to this restaurant, the workers would be so sick of seeing me all the time. read more

Ordered take away from Haifa Falafel recently and was very satisfied. We ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich, the fattoush with tawook, and the 6 free falafel balls from the Yelp offer. The falafel balls were very crispy on the outside and came with a delicious dill tahini sauce that was to die for. The fattoush was bright, fresh, and perfectly dressed, though the chicken was just a little bit dry by the time we had picked it up. The chicken shawarma was outstanding and had a little bit of everything. The chicken was tender and the sauces, while a bit messy, were killer. The order took ~15 minutes to prepare and the portion sizes were a huge bang for your buck. All in all, this was a really good experience and I will definitely stop back in next time I'm in the area! read more

Haifa Falafel - I ate most of the falafel before I remembered to take a photo. I ordered the lamb kofta sandwich. Would recommend. - Middle Eastern Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

I honestly get a little weird about trying new places especially during covid, so I drove here thinking I'm not sure it has good reviews but we will see. I got to the parking lot and decided to give it a try. And oh man. It was so so good. Hands down best chicken shawarma sandwich I have ever had(I added rice to the sandwich as well) . The sauces are bomb! I hardly ever eat everything I get and I ate the whole thing and this sandwich was a huge portion!! I walked out to my car to take a few bites then take it home and sat here and ate the whole damn thing. Alls I can say is WOW. So impressed and will definitely be craving this and be back soon. read more

Amazing awesome great taste it authentic, very courteous staff, very helpful with suggestions, all-around great experience

10000% the best falafel in michigan! Plus add the sauce it's so good! Must try if ur in the area!

My boyfriend and I decided to come here because we were craving arabic food. The inside was pretty small and the workers were nice. They seemed overwhelmed. We both ordered bowls with chicken and we used the yelp offer. We both have yelp so we got 12 falafel balls (initially they tried telling us one offer per order)! Unfortunately, the falafel wasn't good. This was disappointing considering it literally has the word in its name. It's not that they lakced flavor, the spice was just odd and too much. Also, they were very mushy on the inside and didn't taste like falafel at all. They also looked very different on the outside and inside. Anyway, the bowl was interesting. It came with cabbage and a tomato sauce layered over the rice. The rice was pretty good, overall I think the bowl lacked flavor. I did not like the dill sauce, but I needed to use it to add some flavor to the bowl. I'm not sure if it was because the chicken lacked flavor or what. I think they definitely need to add some sort of sauce over the bowl to increase the flavor. The worst part is that I felt sick. Shortly after eating here I started having stomach pain. My boyfriend felt fine. I wouldn't come back, and not because I felt sick. While eating it I realized that I would not return because it was not appetizing to me. Thank you for the free falafel but it was not good. read more

I stopped in for lunch and decided to try the shish tawook plate. Service was fast and no nonsense and the food was piping hot. The dill sauce it was served with was delicious and the hummus was pretty good. The chicken, however, left a lot to be desired. There was no char or crisp to the meat and there was a lot of tendon and connective tissue still on the meat that should have been trimmed on the boneless chicken breast. It could have been cooked longer as well, since it was cooked to proper temperature but just not super tender and didn't have a great mouth-feel. Overall, it is food, but not food that I will be racing back for. read more
