Palm Palace in Ann Arbor has been one of my go-to Mediterranean spots, and I've been here multiple times over the years. One thing I absolutely love is their fresh-baked pita - soft, warm, and honestly hard to stop eating once it hits the table. I've tried a good portion of their menu, especially the chicken dishes. Most of the time everything tastes fresh and flavorful, though I'll say the deboned chicken can be hit or miss, sometimes perfectly cooked, other times a bit dry. The atmosphere is beautiful and lively, making it a great place for both casual meals and celebrations. One of their fun highlights is Hoda, the robot, which delivers food to your table, definitely a hit, especially with kids and first-time visitors. There's plenty of seating and a huge space, so it works well for all group sizes, from small family dinners to large parties. Service is generally smooth despite how busy it gets, and overall the food usually feels fresh and satisfying. A solid Mediterranean spot with great vibes, fun touches, and reliable favorites, especially if you're dining with a group.
I have put off trying this place for a few years but i'm SO glad i tried it and sad that i didn't try it sooner :( The staff is so friendly and helpful with suggestions & the restaurant was beautifully decorated. The chicken shawarma plate had sooo much flavor! I used the bread + garlic sauce to make a sandwich out of it and it was amazing. The rice was so light and cooked perfectly & the salad paired very well with the meal. Try this place!! you will not be disappointed!
Stopped in for lunch as i was passing through, was not disappointed. Very welcoming and friendly service. Very accommodating to my wants. Placed an order of small falafel and power smoothie (very beet flavor) and the lunch 3 course which came with sandwich, soup and side of potato wedges. I got the shish kafta sandwich and moroccan harira soup. They brought a side of bread as well. Plenty of food. Everything was cooked well. Soup was absolutely delicious and is now my favorite soup. I would order all items again. I had items left over to take with me. I also placed an order to go. Meat Grape leaves, baklava (nicely wet not dried out) fried kibbie and a shish tawook and tabulee sandwich. Everything was very good and i look forward to coming back. I love the setting, makes you feel like you have journeyed to another land.

You HAVE to try their lamb chops but if you don't that's fine because everything is good. In the past service has been good, nothing notably good or bad but this time the service was awesome. Staff was super friendly and polite and food came out very fast. The bread was clearly very fresh. The ambiance was nice, there was plenty of seating and parking. We can with a group of 4 for a late lunch and there was no wait.
Great service and wonderful food! Ordered lamb chops, salad, pita bread and hummus, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything was delicious! Lamb chops were tasty! Generous portion size and came with rice. Salad was great as well. The lamb dish I got was a bit too salty for my liking but meat was tender and cooked perfectly. They have fresh pita breads and freshly squeezed juices that are amazing!!
Came here to enjoy a healthy lunch. The decor and aesthetic was on point. I appreciate the effort they put into every detail. I ordered a shish combo I asked for it to be cooked medium well and it was cooked very well. I wish the meat was more tender and offered more flavor. I would come back possibly but it would be for a chicken dish. Overall not a bad experience.

Besides the fun ambience with a palace-like exterior, when you walk in, you are immediately greeted by a camel statue! I'm always impressed with their service and affordable pricing, especially for the portions that you get. I love that they now offer robot servers, which my kids found super exciting, of course! My favorite dishes are the tabbouleh, fattoush, chicken tawook wrap, and hummus -- served with the fresh, warm pita bread. I also always order their lemonade and mint lemonade because they're freshly pressed and the iced mixture ratio is perfection! I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Michigan just so I can return to Palm Palace again!

5 stars on the food, 1 star on service. Food was truly amazing. The quantity is so good and easily shareable between 2 people. I ordered the chicken hummus shawarma platter and it came with a salad. I added a picture, and that's after I ate a quarter of it! Amazing portions. The taste is also super delicious, I will probably get this exact same meal again. Now service. Our waiter was friendly but passive aggressive? Some small comments that I thought were weird but my husband said I was overthinking it. At the end of the meal, my FIL paid. It was on those small machines they can take table to table. To be fair, he assumed the tip was included in a table of five and just paid the full amount. When he was done, our waiter said "just so you know, me serving you this meal just cost me at least $20. Now I have to go pay the busboys and etc from my paycheck." I thought that was super weird! My husband was already ready to pull out some cash but just hearing our waiter say that was super odd. He made a mistake. When he got the receipt he would've noticed and left a cash tip anyway. Pointing it out like that, especially when we were there to celebrate a birthday, was just super uncomfortable. My FIL ended up tipping 25-30% because he felt bad but the waiter just seemed annoyed at that point. Honestly an awful ending to our night and it started out so good. I would go back for the food but probably wouldn't eat in the restaurant itself again.
One of our absolute favorite restaurants! We make it a point to come here every time we visit from San Diego! This time had Hoda as our server and she was so kind and warm, really treating us like family. The food is absolutely delicious, the vibe is warm and welcoming and the service incredible. In my opinion the best middle eastern food in the area. The pita bread is so good and fresh. Tasty rice bed to accompany the chicken and meat dishes.
In town for a visit and was recommended to Palm Palace! The restaurant is huge (many seating areas), food was delicious and portions were generous for the price! Pita breads are freshly made in a open fire pit and the garlic spread was amazing! It did seem like they were a bit short staffed so the service was tad slow, but the staff were very friendly though! Let's start with the Good: The food is Always excellent!!! Now let's go with what's not so good, actually it's very bad!!! No, it's horrible: The seats in the booths and the chairs that the guess sit on to eat that delicious food. All should be replaced IMMEDIATELY! Delicious food, excellent service, and really nice ambiance. Hoda, our server, took amazing care of us and went above and beyond. We left so full and still had leftovers. The food was really well-balanced; filling, but fresh, so you feel good walking out. I can't say enough good things about the mint lemonade & power mix juices (I got some to-go). The shish combo for two was great for two people, and all the meats were exceptionally yummy. I enjoyed that each meat had its own flavor profile so that you could bounce around and try new combos. And the hummus was as good as advertised! Will be back for sure read more

Claire and the server in training were super nice and respectful and double checked with the kitchen regarding allergens for me which I appreciate! The food is AMAZING and I always stop here when I'm in Michigan it is so tasty. They also have a super cute robot cat that helps pass out the dishes so the servers don't have to carry a million plates. THIS IS A MUST VISIT! read more
Ordered for pickup a few days ago when I was craving Mediterranean food. I ordered on the Palm Palace website and it was a little confusing when I arrived; they had pickup spots in the parking lot and I put my name in for curbside pickup and waited 5-10 minutes but nobody came out. The curbside instructions specifically say not to call. After waiting bit I ended up going in and my order was ready. It was packaged well with the exception of the soup which spilled a bit. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter ($18.99) with rice. It was an extra $0.99 to add veggies. They misleadingly suggest that you get a second side with the platter, but outside of a cup of soup everything even the house salad has an upcharge. Even adding a small Greek salad is a $3 upcharge. A small side of toum? That's an extra $3 as well. I could look past the price but the chicken shawarma was a bit dry and unflavorful. The vegetables were good and the rice was moist but overall I was a little underwhelmed. The fattoush salad was also a little meh for $12. The size was fine but it just felt overpriced. I probably would try some other middle eastern restaurants before I'd consider ordering from Palm Palace again. read more

I had a meal with a former coworker at Palm Palace while in town. We arrived right as they opened at 10 am which is an early start to the lunch period. This restaurant has a beautiful interior decor that you notice right when you walk in with a chandelier hanging about the hostess stand. The dining room also has a similar motif which makes the area warm and comfortable for enjoying a meal. The menu was available via a QR code at a corner of our table. Because we showed up so early, the kitchen had not even finished preparing the soups yet. From the '3 Course Lunch' section for $13.99 each, I chose the Chicken Shawarma Wrap. A choice of rice (my pick) or fries was available as a carb and then I also received a side salad because of the above mentioned lack of soups. A basket of warm pita bread along with whipped butter was brought to us while we waited for our order. Slices of grilled chicken, pickles, and garlic sauce were tucked inside the wrap. The pita wrap, as well as the bread in the basket, was soft and fresh out of the oven. That was the best part of the meal. The rice and salad were ordinary with not much to mention. Our server was courteous and checked in frequently because we were her first party of the day. I rated my latest dining experience at Palm Palace between three and four stars. We first tried Palm Palace during the pandemic. We got the 4 person feast, and it was enough to last 2 people for several meals. The food was amazing. We recently went in person, and it was even better. Our server, Hota, was kind and charming. I really enjoyed talking to her, and it showed me how much I missed in person interactions. The interior is beautiful and romantic. It has a calming vibe with perfect lighting and romantic beadery. I ordered the shish combo with vegetables, my husband got one of the sandwiches, and we ordered hummus as well. The food was perfectly cooked. I also recommend their in house made juices. Ok, I've been here before in the past and the food tasted better in the past. This time it was a bit disappointing. The Greek salad just didn't taste right. I've had hundreds of Greek salads but this one had a strange mix of spices that just made it taste "off". It wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't Greek. The lemonade is great and fresh, a must have. The lamb shawarma sandwich is very tasty and very filling. The service is above average and the hostess was very friendly. The fried Kibbi was above average but not excellent. Overall it was good but a few things were lacking in the taste department. I'll still come back but I've lowered my expectations somewhat. Something has changed. Oh and an interesting thing is they use robotic carts to deliver food to your table. It definitely gets everyone's attention. See photo. read more
