This place is super great! I went here for my grandfather's 80th birthday, and it was really lovely. There were appetizers, caprese salad skewers (which were great) and dates wrapped in bacon (which I didn't like as much.) I got the arugula pear salad, which was nice. For entrees, I got the Filet Mignon, with green beans, and mashed potatoes. Everything was great, especially the mashed potatoes. The steak was only very slightly tough, but still very nice. (Someone also lended me some salmon, which was also quite good.) We had our own separate room, which had a nice atmosphere, and vibe. (It was a little cold though.) My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day and it was quite a treat! It was bustling with couples, and we felt very well tended to by the staff. The restaurant vibes are more catered to finer dining, but it wouldn't be weird to dress more casually. The Za'atar chicken was very fresh and paired well with the vegetables. The truffle ravioli was very rich and filling. Our only complaint would be about the calamari. The breading kept falling off and was not as flavorful as other restaurants we have been to. Food was meh/ok (shrimp is 50% salt, so skip that one); baked feta and Brussels were very nice. Service was PAINFUL. Server, a tall old German man, truly did ruin our lunch. After being seated he graced us with his presence by commenting on my friend's book sitting on the seat (not even the table) next to her (a bell hooks book about love) and volunteered his opinion about how "reading was a waste of time" and it's better to live life rather than read about it. I'm not kidding, this is what he said/volunteered, with a smirk suggesting he just knew how charming he was. Despite requesting a quiet booth, explicitly for quiet conversation, this guy asked for our order 3 times despite us saying we were not ready and also visibly talking intently. Fourth try, we're now ordering and he "instructed" us that we would be remiss not to try the salads since "we wash everything very well here" (weren't even thinking about cyclosporine until he brought it up ). We order, he tries to push other dishes, we stick to what we order, then the food is delivered and it's wrong (missing my order, included something neither of us ordered). As I'm starting to suspect it's a candid camera prank situation, he tells us he's gifting us the un-asked-for pork dish (we'd already told him we don't eat pork) bc we're such lovely ladies. At this point - I promise I'm not exaggerating- he's been to our table and interrupted intense and private conversation- at least 6 times. He begins asking repeatedly if he can clear away plates we are clearly still eating from. Not insensitive to the plight of the server who needs to flip a table (there was only one other table in the whole restaurant that had people seated, by the way) we asked if he needed the table free or if he was punching out and if so, we could leave. At this point, he tells us it's ok and begins a diatribe about how he's European, apparently he used to own or run a restaurant in Germany, and unlike us "American Barbarians" (kid you not - that's what he called/said to us) in Europe, they are civilized and after their meal they sit and talk for hours. My friend made the mistake of ordering a takeout meal for her partner back home, which again required many, many different visits/interruptions to what was clearly, to any outsider, intense and private conversation. There were no less than 10 interruptions to our lunch, some of which, as I mentioned included calling Americans barbarians and telling us we were wrong for reading books so to speak, and in the end, he was still pushing this disgusting pork dish that he had left at the table for us to stare at after we didn't order it and said we don't eat pork. Trying to get my protein in, I wanted something with lots of vegetables and some fish. I tried here because it was close to the hotel I was staying in. I was greeted immediately and sat by a beautiful window in a booth. I was excited by the options on the menu and I selected minestrone and salmon with couscous. It was fresh, hot, and full of flavor! My experience was with carryout. We have little ones so we do dinner dates at home. Everything was phenomenal. Like REALLY REALLY good. A little pricey ($160)for everyday family dinner but it was all really good for trying something different and new in our neighborhood. I'd go again on a date night with my husband. Enjoyed a lovely dinner with colleagues during my travels to Ann Arbor. Started with a glass of Dr hon Reisling which was delicious. Refreshing and slightly sweet. For starters we had brussel sprouts, bacon wrapped dates & olives. Everything was delicious but I kept thinking about the olives. Pitted and served room temp, the olives were meaty and it was just the right amount of salty and tangy. I had the sea bass and it was also delicious. For dessert I had the pear tart. Really great food. A nice upscale Italian restaurant. Our party of two showed up WAY underdressed on a Thursday night around 7pm without a reservation. There were plenty of empty tables and we were seated near the door. We decided on a salad for each of us and two "small plates". These were the largest small tapas plates I've ever had (and I've had my fair share over the years!). We could have ordered just one and been satisfied. The downside was the service. We sat for almost 15 minutes before anyone came over to welcome us and offer us water and a menu. In fact, we had just started searching for another restaurant to go to. Something must have triggered something in the back of the house because while our server rarely checked on us, the house manager and bartender both came to the table twice to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. read more

The whole meal was cold. Fillet mignon was tasteless and raw, literally still bleeding. I usually like medium rare, but not when it looks like steak tartare! It was truly gross and unappetizing. I was told they didn't have steak sauce. I requested a box to take it home to finish cooking it, but it was still blah since they didn't even add salt to season the meat. This would've been fine for dogs unseasoned but I'm not a pet and the price deserved more preparation than to be unseasoned AND uncooked. Never knew this restaurant existed, let alone shared the same building as World Market - a home goods store that I LOVE and visit frequently whenever I'm in Ann Arbor! Mediterrano is tucked away with its entrance and entire restaurant front at the back behind the street-facing World Market, so I truly never knew until my friend, who loves this place, suggested that we go! it's a great spot for bigger parties as there were 10+ of us pulling up here. They have a ton of space in this restaurant for larger parties and the staff seemed very familiar with handling bigger parties as well and our entire experience felt seamless! The food was very interesting - a lot of items on the menu feeding into the vibes of this space being a bit more upscale than other Mediterranean-based restaurants that I've been to - but not too expensive either. Everything we got was very delicious and I loved this place for its interesting menu and food, service, and ambiance. A+ across the board - I will definitely be back again with friends as this is a great place slightly off campus to go to with parents or friends looking for a nice dinner option, and next time I'm in the area shopping at World Market, I will probably also swing by here to pick up some carryout as well! read more

This was our first time back here since Covid and we sat in their outdoor gazebo during a mid-April heat wave. The gazebo has sides that can go up or down depending on the weather. Our server did a nice job, but sometimes things arrived quickly and sometimes we were sitting there thinking "where is our dessert." Our food was really good. We were a party of four and we got four small plates and two entrees. Except for the bacon-wrapped dates, the small plates were really large. Lots of patatas bravas, tons of Brussels sprouts, and lot of hummus, taramasalata, and olives in the cold poikilia. The Ora King Salmon with truffled pea purée, potatoes, mushrooms, and arugula was very good. The Lamb Three Ways was also delicious. For dessert, we had the PORTOKALOPITA (Greek orange cake . vanilla chantilly . macerated berries . crumble pistachio) and Tarta de Santiago almond tart with roasted pears, Spanish nougat, and sherry caramel. This place is a hidden gem. We're visiting the area and decided to stop in for a salad and appetizer. It was so good that we decided to go back a second time this week.
