Very very fresh food. The meat and everything else on the menu is so good and fresh. Great Ambiance and very friendly employees!

Love Zaman we get it at least once a week! The food is so fresh and tasty. The food comes out quickly and the vibes of everyone working is great. It's a very chill place. I love their new seating. The best thing about the restaurant is the food and I think they are one of the best in Ann Arbor. read more

I had the large bowl of tabbouli, which was decent but had way too much liquid in it. the grape leaves were ok but nothing to write home about. I ordered a Turkish coffee which was not even as strong as a medium blend coffee. it was the thinnest, wimpiest cup of supposedly Turkish coffee I've ever had,and I've had many. I haven't a clue as to why people rate this place so highly. To be fair, it was as mediocre as the other Lebanese style restaurants in the Ann Arbor area. read more

You order at the kiosk, pay, and wait. I came in around 2:30PM. I came here to get something to eat before checking into my hotel. I wanted it to-go though because I had some work to do. The menu is straightforward. I ordered a meat shawarma wrap combo. You can select a soda but I opted for a bottled water. I try to not eat or drink at the airport or on the plane - to reduce the number of times I might need to use the restroom. I was hungry and was looking forward to a big meal. The meat (beef and lamb) was very good, very flavorful and juicy. The pickled vegetables were good, but it saturated the wrap thus made the meal pretty messy. The bag that it came in had a hole from the pickled vegetable juices. The fries were seasoned and wasn't greasy or over cooked. Super affordable. read more

Zamaan Cafe - Meat Shawarma Wrap Combo (opted for water instead of soda). - Middle Eastern Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

Nate and I were desperate for a quick dinner spot before heading to our niece's karate class in the area recently - luckily we found Zamaan Cafe and remembered eating at Bewon, the Korean restaurant next door years ago. The cafe was brightly lit with a couple of groups inside enjoying dinner. They were doing quite a bit of takeout, so we ordered and sat down at a booth to wait. I got the meat shawarma wrap and a cup of lentil soup, and Nate ordered the chicken shawarma wrap combo, which comes with a fountain drink and fries. The food was pretty quick to come out, and I was instantly impressed with the fries. They looked delicious and not like the typical steak fries that you usually get at Mediterranean restaurants. They were almost beer battered and super crispy on the outside, with tender potatoey insides. Perfection! The wraps were a little small and I found the pita to be a bit tough, but the flavors were good and the meat was pretty tender. The lentil soup was hot and comforting. I really liked it and would get it again. I really appreciated that we were brought a cup of water without having to ask. I'd stop here again in the future if we're in the area, but I might order online ahead of time. read more

EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating! Their food is very fresh and very delicious! We will be returning very soon!

Stopped over during a road trip for a quick bite to eat. Restaurant located in a strip mall. Great and fast service. Food was delicious. Loved the Shish Kufta plate with fresh tomatoes. Reasonable price. Taking a star off due to the bathroom not being clean. Food was good and service was good. read more

Came here multiple times for dine in and carry out. We usually get the shawarma sandwiches which are pretty good - nice amount of meat and overall good flavor. However, they fall short on their entree dishes. The chicken shawarma plate was pieces of chicken breast without much flavor. Not the shawarma that you get from those rotating shawarma grills. The portion was so small for $17. The kafta had decent flavor - again think the portion was small for the price. The service was good. The place is casual and clean. They serve everything on paper products which I didn't really like but it was fine. Overall didn't think the entrees were worth the price. read more

The good was very well prepared and had great flavor. The staff was very helpful when making choices off the menu. The strip mall setting was sort of odd, but it works. Very good flavor for good value! read more

Great hummus and baba ghanoush. Easy take out and delicious food. Nice owner and staff.

I can clearly say "Love this place!" So far, everything I had from this place was delicious. Since I tasted their house made hummus, I never buy packaged one from a grocery store. The restaurant is clean with welcoming atmosphere and friendly waiters. Strongly recommended for a casual meal. read more

Upon entering the restaurant, I saw all the tables were closed off. When I asked the cashier if the restaurant was open for dine-in, she pointed me to the tables in the connecting restaurant, 8 Tortas. Recalling how much I enjoyed Almaza, as I was about to order, I grabbed a bottle of Laziza not realizing it was non-alcoholic. Because the cashier had trouble finding a bottle opener, I joked that I should have grabbed a bottle of water with the sport cap instead. I ordered the Shish Kabob. At $20.95, it was one of the few pricey items on the menu. As I had eaten very little the entire day, I was ready for large meal. At least, I thought I was. I was not asked if I wanted soup or salad, so I lucked out with the latter. In addition to spices, they put pita chips in the salad! It definitely made me keep eating more of the salad than I originally intended. By the time I got to the Shish Kabob, the rice was very warm and not steaming hot. The beef cubes were warm and tender. Because I ate most of the salad, I could only eat half of the entree. I was not even able to finish all the beef cubes. read more

Great middle eastern food! My coworkers and I love getting carry out from here for lunch. The zamaan karnabeet is so good. A great choice for vegetarians. Their shawarma wraps are big. Great food. Friendly service. Informal. Fabulous "Meza platter ". The owner is warm, friendly, and often there.

Always solid, great flavor. It's my go to, once a month. I also appreciate big their servings.

Update, 12/21: Zamaan remains a favorite carry out spot: an order of chicken on hummus, a large side of falafels, and a tub of tabouli make a great start to a Friday night at home. In my first review I panned the tabouli...either I caught them on a bad night then or they've upped their tabouli game. Tried it again a couple of months ago with some reservations...and it was great! It's a must-order now. read more

A great quick spot to get some flavorful chicken shawarma and pita. Reasonably priced and service was great. The ambiance is very casual which is nice when you are looking for something low key. Tucked away, authentic and someone came in for a larger order/catering which is a great option! read more

OVERALL = 3 = I would not dissuade anyone from eating here. But other than food the 2 prevents it from making it to a 4 or higher. FOOD = 5 SERVICE = 3 FOOD PRESENTATION = 3 ENTRANCE = 1 INSIDE AMBIENCE = 3 PRICING = 2 Rating = 1 = Front entrance. This needs work as it detracts from the first impressions. There were shops at one time. The one side is where you take your trash. Bussing your own table. Could stand to make it look organize. RATING = 2 = Cleanliness. Overall clean. But we needed to request to have table cleaned. RATING = 2 = Customer focus. Have a sign at table letting you of two ordering options. Lack of clarity when first come in The have two kiosk system similar to many fast food places to eat have. We assume that was an option and waited. No checked on us. Did check and was told either kiosk or they could take the order. Probably better to use kiosk as people are coming in for carry out pick up. RATING = 3 = Customer Service The person who took are counter offer was pleasant. Food was delivered to table. Brought water. We requested extra plastic silverware taken care of. But did not recheck say to see if wanted water or how was the meal. Food = 5 = was very favorable and would recommend it. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE = 2 You need to bus your own table. One needs to keep in mind the concept is cafeteria not a restaurant experience. PRICING = MEAL = 2 I felt that for the environment it was overpriced. You can tell by the number of servers only 2. The use of paper and plastic silverware. But also know that inflation and people moving to living wage. It has to be paid for. Using a kiosk to order. Bussing your own table. TIPPING I will say I normally tip at 20% but decided to wait as you pay up front. The other thing I find poor is where they now have the tip from 10 to 30 %. Based on the overall I did not tip. read more

Cool, casual, small-ish Lebanese cafe with counter service. Decent grub. Of particular note: they have a fun selection of different styles of hummus, and a good variety of pita wraps, along with a few signature dinner plates (for a single diner, a party of two, and a group of four). In terms of taste, it's not at the top of my list but -- in all fairness -- SE Michigan is home to several awesome Lebanese restaurants. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. Overall I dig it. read more

we have been eating here often. last visit this past week was horrible. our absolutely favorite hummus tasted like ground canned peas with no oil or spices. the sandwich was dry, cold, and not worth eating. what in the world has happened. new chef? price changes on their products with which to cook? owner on vacation ? so sad. read more

Meat shawarma was fantastic. Very reasonably priced lunch. Will be back to try other items.

The karnabeet is delicious. It's this fried cauliflower with tahini sauce. Amazeballs. The kufta wrap is great. I also had the eggplant and rice wrap which was pretty tasty for not having any meat in it. read more

Cool spot for Mediterranean food in Ann Arbor. Ambiance Open and airy interior with cool and Mediterranean-themed decor throughout with light, blonde woods. Everything looked well kept and clean. There was some traditional music playing at a reasonable volume. Service The place was empty when we arrived, and we were greeted promptly and seated wherever we wanted. The menu was on a photocopied piece of paper. Our orders were taken promptly, and the drinks came out followed by the starter and entree. We were checked on one or two times and offered drink refills. Overall pretty good service. Food Opted for the falafel starter. There were about five small falafel on a large bed of greens and pickles with a white (maybe tsatsziki?) sauce. The falafel tasted fairly good, though we would've preferred more falafel and less of the other stuff. For entree we opted for the chicken tawook (a marinated grilled chicken). It was served with a large portion of yellow rice and a few pickles. The chicken was a large serving of chunks of breast meat with a tasty marinade though a bit on the dry side. The rice was ok though had little flavor. The entree came with soup or salad. We opted for the lentil soup. This was very good! A wonderful, rich and smooth soup. Lastly we tried some baklava and a namoura cake. The baklava was the star of the meal! Wonderfully tasty and lightly sweet. The cake was extremely moist, a bit sticky, and had a nice coconut taste. Mojo Overall, this is a good place for some decent Mediterranean food in Ann Arbor though didn't seem extraordinary in any way. read more

Good food, large portions and fair prices. My husband and I shared a meal and brought some home! But we probably are somewhat light eaters. We had the batinjan bi banadoura, an eggplant and veggie stew with beef, with baklava for dessert. I can't wait to come back and try something else from the menu. read more

Their food is very authentic middle eastern cuisine. I had meat shawarma wrap which is very tasty. I love the humus with mixed vegetables and meat together. DELICIOUS! If you add lentil soup, just add $1 extra. My friends had large shish kufta for $16.69 which is a little over priced.
