We are new to the area. We tried this place for the first time. I would give a 6 star if I could. Awesome food, very flavorful. Big portions. Very reasonable prices. Service was fantastic. Beshar was very friendly and ensured our needs were met. Food came very quickly. Items were freshly made - bread was hot out of the oven. You got to try their juices (we tried beets + carrots, and carrots + apple - both were great). All the items we had were excellent (starter combo, chicken shish kafta, lamb shawarma, baklava, falafal) and authentic. Based on the tasted and quality, we think you can't go wrong with other items too. Don't forget to try their Yemani tea. We are definitely going back. read more

I've had Shish Palace via DoorDash for lunch twice now - first the shish kafta lunch and then the chicken shawarma platter. Both times I chose half grilled veggies & rice and chicken rice soup. The vegetables have a nice char and aren't mushy. The soup doesn't have a lot of texture but tastes great without an overpowering lemon flavor. Both meat dishes were delicious as was the rice. It's a great value- I got two lunches out of each meal. They also give you pita and garlic sauce- YUM! I need to try dine in soon. Highly recommend! read more

I came here around noon on a Sunday. Parking is easy and the space is bright and clean. Staff was soooo nice and the food, omg the food! We got the Shish combo for two, which was huge and delicious! Everything came out steaming hot and fresh. We also got the carrot juice, which is one of my favs! And we topped everything off with baklava, which was flaky and light and the perfect amount of sweet. We had an excellent meal at Shish Palace. We have been searching for a restaurant like the old Ls Shish for years. Driving to Dearborn was our only choice until we found Shish Palace right down the street in Ypsilanti. The folks who started Shish Palace used to work at La Shish. The food was just as we remembered. The lamb chops were fantastic and the salad perfect. The hot bread with garlic spread was magnificent. We are so happy to have found Shish Palace! The server brought us some complimentary baklava for our (almost 2-year old) grandson and he loved it; this is a family friendly place. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals (Chicken Tawook, Lamb Chops, Lentil Soup, and a Sajji Beef Wrap sandwich). SO GOOD!!! Was in the area and found this place online- tried it based off the photo of the fresh round pita bread! Ordered a wrap combo- $13ish for a wrap, side and soup or salad! Schwarma wrap was great, garlic sauce was homemade and perfect, rice was ok, lemon chicken soup was pretty good! They had fresh juice for $3.99- didn't try it but that's a great price! We came here and really there is so so much to tell but here is what we ordered and everything is a 5 stars. Including the Turkish coffee. My sister has lamb combo entree with rice salad and the spinach pies. We also had the grape - they were warm. I have always had them cold or chilled but there is something they did with them and they are somehow spiced and delicious. We had veggie platter with hummus, baba ganoos, falafel balls, clean veggies of carrots, cucumbers, celery, pickles and beets. Shish Palace is so good that they inspired me to make my first ever yelp review. This is the second time we've eaten here and it has the best Mediterranean food Ypsi has to offer. Everything from their salads to their rice is beautiful and full of flavor. Their pita bread and garlic sauce are so scrumptious it makes me want to cry. You're going to want to order extra garlic sauce. Their grape leaves and chicken are just the best. I've never been a huge fan of grape leaves but they've converted me! There is just something about their food that makes you feel alive. They are super nice to boot. I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

It has to be really bad for me to be writing a review. My family took my brother in law here for dinner and we drove 40 minutes for the worst service. They kept us waiting 40 mins before taking our order and when the server did come she was so rude. She asked if my brother wanted soup or salad and when he asked what type of soups there are, she said "I'm really busy and if I come to you then you need to know everything." It was so rushed and horrible. I'm attaching a picture of the bread that's shape was distorted too. We wanted to take him to a nice dinner and weren't expecting to be treated so horribly. The food was also of bad quality and did not taste good. My brother ordered the steak shawarma and there was no meat in it.... I've never had this bad of an experience in a restaurant. They might have been understaffed as well but that doesn't excuse the behavior. This is one of those places you never want to come to again. read more
