Been here a few times and am always delighted…read more In this case we were there for Valentine's Day. Service was great and the menu had lots of tempting options. Loved the cheese plate. Tasty cheese selections and a generous amount of bread and crackers. Their cocktails are ON POINT. The Pep in Your Step blended the mezcal flavor wonderfully. The Nightshade Martini was one of the most unique cocktails I've ever had. I enjoyed my pasta, though I had wanted to order a seafood dish and they were out of mussels. Definitely a bit of a bummer. I remember the beans in the smoked duck dish being especially good. My one complaint about this place is the menu seems to feel similar each time I'm there (months to years between visits). Like there's always a similar fish dish and a curry. I guess I just wish there were different options because the menu is relatively small. Excited to return for another visit in the future and would like to try their lunch offering as well!

The salad was fresh and well dressed - simple but good. The second starter was sardine tin. Very very good. Not overly fishy and the garnishes served with it were perfect. For mains which are enough to share, one was the trout! Absolutely well seasoned and crispy. It is served whole and butterflied. We changed the side to the house vegetable. OMG these sautéed garden veggies were the best! The other main was a Japanese curry dish. Here is why the five starting dropped to a four. It was just ok. We would not order again. For dessert we had the bread pudding- another star for the night! To the owner, terrific staff. Everyone we engaged in, were positive and knowledgeable. They are a great team! Looking forward to a second visit!

My favorites are the Reuben, the Georgia Reuben, and Tarb's Tenacious Tenure. The latkes and knishes are also fantastic. There was a period where the bread was so sharp it felt like my mouth was getting cut up every time I ate there, which honestly became part of the experience. But the past few times I've gone, the bread has been perfect. Zingerman's Deli lives up to the hype.

I'm not a big sandwich person, and the Georgia Reuben is honestly the best sandwich I've ever had!…read more The balance is perfect. The slaw has a sweet-tangy flavor that adds umph without overpowering the sandwich. As someone who usually skips slaw, it's the perfect amount of crisp layered in so it complements everything instead of taking over. The bread is toasted to a perfect crisp on the outside while the inside is soft. The contrast between the crispy exterior and the soft, tasty interior holds me in the moment. The cheese is the final touch that balances the crisp bread and crunchy slaw. Every texture works together. The portion size surprised me. I ordered the small thinking it would be light, but it was more than enough. I was completely stuffed and couldn't imagine ordering a large. I wish I could somehow fly this sandwich over anytime I wanted as I'm from another state, but it's that memorable. I actually came back two days in a row just to have it again. It's going to live in my mind for a long time.

The wall is decked out in a bunch of old lunch boxes and old signage which is pretty neat. Everything was ordered and paid for via the kiosk, the only time I interacted with a person was when they called my ticket number. Which it seemed like they didnt know it, nor my name... odd, as it was required to put in on the kiosk, and generated a ticket number. So, i cant speak directly to the service. Food took about about 20 minutes which wasnt too bad. She ordered a bacon cheeseburger and some backyard fries. I got a Mac 'n' jack burger with some southside fries. She said her burger needed some seasoning on it, as it was pretty bland. Had hoped for some real bacon pieces, but it was chopped or bits. Her fries were pretty good. My burger, i ordered with an egg and some grilled onions. I am pretty certain after tearing apart the burger, they forgot the onions. But its all good. The mac and cheese balls, were alright at best. The sauce was the best part of the burger. It wasnt anything special. My south side fries were also the better part of my meal. Would probably go back to try something outside of a burger, but would definitely need fries, as they were a highlight. Wouldve been 2 stars if not for the fries.

I saw the gentleman who took our order wash his hands prior to touching any food for the people prior to us. Which is always refreshing. I told my girlfriend to pick a place out, so we can try somewhere new, and she said she had driven by here several times and wanted to give it a shot. We went, without doing much homework on the stop. It definitely wasn't a very welcoming sit and dine type of place, but you could eat there if you chose to. We got ours to go. She got a chicken bowl with half rice & lettuce, a side of hummus and corn. I got a chicken bowl with half rice & lettuce, with garlic sauce, hummus, pickled cabbage, banana peppers, feta, pickles, and the chipotle sauce. For the price, there was a good amount of food, she made hers into two meals. Aside from that, it was also very tasty. There used to be a competitor near target, and i loved their food - since they went out of business and transitioned to another restaurant, it isn't as good. This will now likely be a regular stop for us for a quick dinner.

This is a super cute spot that specializes in smoked meat and sausages... yes please. We ordered at the counter and the employees were very friendly and helpful with great suggestions. I got the Michigan asparagus, onion, and cheddar brat, and Nate got the currywurst. We also got a cup of chili to share. We got a buzzer for our order and then sat down in the heated outdoor space. They have a lot of outdoor seating and some firepits, so I really want to come back in the fall or summer. Our food was done quickly and we had fun picking stuff from the toppings bar. They had chopped onions, jalapenos, banana peppers, sauerkraut etc. and lots of sauces. I LOVED the brat. It was easy to bite and not super snappy which I didn't mind. The bun was perfectly toasted and the flavor combination was delicious. Kind of like a broccoli cheddar vibe. I had some of the currywurst which was also delicious! The chili was packed with brisket and pulled pork, and was really tasty. There is a bar so you can enjoy a beer with your sausage, but we just grabbed some cold drinks from the cooler. They even have ice cream and floats!! There are lots of great items for sale as well, including lots of pickled things, frozen pierogi, meat sticks and jerky, and they even have Trenary Toast (#iykyk). I am already planning my next visit to try more brats and the brisket sandwich. This is such a great concept and I really wish we had a place like this in Grand Rapids.

I was taken aback by the question, so I told her just the normal amount is fine. She then shares that their portion is not big which is what she asks all her customers when they order pho. The bowl was quite sad looking, lacked green onions, cilantro, meats, and no kidding on the noodles. The broth was clean but lacked that beefy richness. The herbs were fresh and they offered jalapeno slices and a line wedge unlike the place I went to on Sunday. But for the price, I could not expect more.

We get it almost once a week and it never disappoints. I'm obsessed with the mixed shawarma sandwich and the tabbouli salad. The flavor combinations in the shawarma are so delicious and more flavorful than shawarmas I've had in the past. Another thing I appreciate about the shawarma sandwich is that the pita bread does not get soggy. I hate when I order a shawarma sandwich for takeout and it's drenched in grease and sauce by the time I get home. The shawarmas from Shawarma Plus don't suffer from this problem. The pita bread stays dry, fresh, and soft despite being stuffed with chicken, steak, veggies, garlic sauce, and tahini. The tabbouli salad is the perfect way to balance out the meal with something fresh. Shawarma Plus is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall hidden gem. I love the food here so much.
