The place was absolutely dead but we got our food super quickly which was great, did seem like they only had one guy working. I got chicken tikka masala and it was delicious, the amount of food you get is incredible considering it's not too pricey. Service could've been better, but once again, only one guy working.

I really want to find a good Indian spot in A2 and had high hopes seeing the reviews. I ordered the chicken tikka masala with medium spice for $16 incl rice. Portion size was decent. Everything about the dish lacked flavor. The curry was runny and tasted like nothing. The chicken was tender but again, had no seasoning. I cannot stress enough how inauthentic and bland this dish was. It tasted nothing like the tikka masala I've had from other Indian restaurants. What a horrible disappointment. Will absolutely never order again.

Still good! But unfortunately, didn't have the best experience tonight. My partner and I were raving to our buddy about this place and the three of us decided to grab dinner here. It's Saturday, busy night! Took awhile to get seats to dine in, but it was fine, we were excited for the food. Finally seated after about 5 minutes, we didn't get our menus, but it's okay, we already know what we're going to get... except, the waiter didn't come to us for another 15+ minutes. A big group of people were seated way before us and had their orders taken right away. I was waiting for him to finish taking their order so I can tell him we (been) are ready as well. Another waiter saw us and was apologetic about not bringing us a menu, but all good, it's been almost 20 minutes at this point, we're ready to order. All should be good! Nope, 2 out of the 3 dishes came out very lukewarm, and we ordered naan that didn't come out at all. We waited, until we were all done with our plates, and came to the realization that they have forgotten part of our order. We were still hungry but who knew how much longer it would take for the naan. Not worth it at this point. Our table was pretty much forgotten, warm food, missing item, no water refill. They were way busier compared to the time I was here last time; so I'll give them that. Not sure if I'll be back but food is still pretty good and priced fair for downtown AA.

I live near Namaste Flavors and every day I walk past and smell the aromas that drift out of the restaurant, and it makes me so hungry each time. I finally got to try it this weekend and I am impressed! I got the chicken vindaloo, and it really packed a punch heat-wise, but it was so flavorful and made the experience so much better. We also got the mughlai chicken, and normally, I'm not a huge proponent of putting tree nuts in food, but the curry was fantastic. It provided a nice relief from the spicy vindaloo, and it was so good that after we ran out of rice I was eating it on its own. Although the mughlai chicken wasn't spicy, by no means was it a mild flavor. Lastly, we got the mango lassi as I always do at Indian restaurants. The mango flavor was pretty dominating, which I loved, but it was also really thick, thicker than what I've had at other places, and this made the yogurt flavor a little stronger. However, I still thought it was delicious.

There aren't too many places that are open for a late dinner besides fast food which we've done already. We came across this restaurant since it closed at 10pm and decided to try it. There is street parking and a small lot as well. I saw on the menu that they offered dosa only to learn they were out of it. I am not familiar with Indian cooking but maybe they ran out of batter this late at night (around 8:30pm)? We ordered the chicken biryani mild (which the server placed as med), mughlai chicken mild and garlic naan. We asked if the dishes were spicy and they said they can cater the spice level. The menu doesn't have the usual red pepper emoji next to the dish to indicate if it is spicy. It is a very extensive menu. It was all good despite the spicy biryani and the chicken was tender. Service was decent. The restaurant decor was simple. It is in a house on a corner. We will return in the future to try out the dosas!

Pro tip: -they have carry out! -It's spicier than you think -get some naan bread on the side, it's cheap Comments: I sat outside to be safe (#covid), and I highly recommend it! There's plenty of outdoor seating on their patio, and it's a cute part of town. I ordered the Chicken Tiki Masala and it was so good. Great sized portion, and I couldn't even finish it all.

There was a dead bug in my samosa. Please avoid at all costs.

There was a dead bug in my food. Eat there at your own discretion. We left as soon as we got our bug-filled food, so cannot speak to anything else.

There were lots of items I wouldn't have ordered myself like the medhu vada (savory lentil doughnut) as well as the delightful payasam dessert (rice pudding with fresh coconut and tapioca). I also loved that they had both veg and goat biryani. Yum. They also kept the spice level VERY VERY mild. I usually order MEDIUM here and get rocked (in a good way!) We got there right at 11:30am on a Saturday and it was quiet for the first 5 minutes then people were STREAMING in, so clearly it's not a secret anymore ha.

Butter chicken is one of my absolute favorites and it was on the buffet for yesterday's lunch service! Unfortunately, whoever prepared the chicken took a cleaver and just shattered the bones in the poor chicken pieces. There were bone shards and cartilage throughout all of the pieces rendering them inedible, at least in a restaurant. If I were in the privacy of my own home, I could have picked up the chicken pieces and gnawed away at them to get the meat, but in a restaurant, no way. That said, I wouldn't have wanted to gnaw away at the pieces anyway. Horribly annoying to eat anything that way. There was another meat dish that was offered and it was kind of the same thing. I think maybe it was some type of curried goat. Great flavor and heat, but really inedible due to the prep of the meat. The curry sauce was nice over the rice, but that's not what was intended. The buffet lacked one of my favorite additions, pickles! I dearly love Indian pickles and an Indian meal without them is almost criminal. There were some really tasty vegetable pakoras and another app that was deep fried with a fiery red color. I asked what it was and the lady told me it was some type of baby corn. Delicious. The old restaurant always had some great desserts like gulab jamun and mango kheer. Yesterday, they had some type of chocolate sheet cake that appeared to be store bought. It was fine, but not the same. I guess it wasn't a bad meal, but for $20 per person, with expectations of what I know they can do, this was kind of a letdown.

Unfortunately, due to the rainy weather, they weren't offering the buffet that day. The three of us opted to order a la carte and squeezed into a comfortable booth. While glancing at the menu, I noticed entire pages dedicated to dosas, biriyanis, and Indo-Chinese dishes. In hindsight, we probably should've gotten at least one dish from each section, but we weren't really in the mood for dosas or the Indo-Chinese entrees at the time. GARLIC NAAN - 3.49 The garlic naan is a must-order. Each order comes with four quarter pieces, and I honestly could've eaten the entire basket myself. It's topped with plenty of minced garlic and is flavorful enough to enjoy on its own. PANEER TIKKA MASALA - 14.99 The tikka masala leaned heavily on the creamy side and was much less tomato-forward than I prefer -- savory with very little tomato sweetness. There were a few small pieces of tomato, onion, and possibly peppers, along with the paneer. While the paneer was good, there weren't many pieces overall. I enjoyed the dish, but I would've preferred a more tomato-based curry. VIJAYAWADA CHICKEN BIRYANI - 15.99 Highly recommended by our trusted source and echoed by multiple Yelp reviews, this was easily the star of our meal. The rice was fragrant and packed with aromatics, and the chicken was cut very small, almost minced. It was incredibly flavorful and unapologetically spiced, unlike many Indian restaurants in the area that tone things down for the American palette. This biryani did not hold back. While I generally prefer bite-sized chicken for the texture, I can see how the finely chopped chicken absorbs the spice better and distributes the flavor more evenly throughout the rice. That said, I do wish there had been more chicken overall so every bite included some. GOAT KORMA - 17.99 This was a pretty standard, nutty, creamy korma. Unfortunately, most of the goat pieces were very bony, with some pieces being straight up bone. I felt a bit cheated since this is a pricier entree. My friend has a much higher spice tolerance palette than his wife and me, so I only had a few bites before returning to milder dishes. Overall, this is probably the most spice-forward Indian restaurant I've been to in this area, and it genuinely felt like all of my taste buds were waking up with every bite. I highly recommend the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani, especially if you've never had it before, as it's not something I see often at Indian restaurants. The flavors are phenomenal, and next time I'll be back for a lassi, a dosa, and one of their Indo-Chinese dishes.

The egg masala is very good and their spice is on point (my "medium" was perfect. Love the option of the egg, and it came with 3 eggs in the sauce. Their garlic naan is very good, it's one big flatbread cut into two pieces. Nice flavor and the dough still has some bite to it -- not too soft or too crispy. I'd like to dine in sometime for a legit dosa experience -- the photos look awesome. :) Love this option is in our neighborhood, and they are super friendly. It's fully self-service: you order at the counter, pick up your tray when it's ready, and grab your own cups and utensils. Nothing fancy. LAMB BIRYANI - 16.99 This came in a large paper to-go box with generous portions. The biriyani was a bit saucy, but each grain of basmati rice was still distinct and packed with spice and heat. The lamb pieces were cut into uneven sizes; I personally would preferred smaller, bite-sized pieces. Overall, pretty solid, but slightly too salty. CHICKEN KURMA - 15.99 Creamy, nutty and rich, the chicken kurma was homey and comforting. It was quite flavorful and heavy -- we finished all the rice and still had some left over. Similar to the lamb biryani, the chicken pieces were unevenly sized, with some too large to eat without cutting. We paid with cash, which knocked 10% off the total bill. While the food isn't stellar, it's familiar and satisfying, and we spent under $32 for full bellies plus leftovers for another meal.

I would recommend trying the bone-in Tandoori instead as hopefully that is more moist (I didn't try it think would consider other dishes before trying this here tho based on my experience with the boneless). I decided to also get the Chicken Chettinadu (curry) Hot which was good. Note that this curry only has chicken chunks (no veggies at all). I would order this dish again to go and likely add cauliflower etc at home.). My friend got the (Saag?) Paneer which she enjoyed.
