I frequent the location in Grapevine quite a bit, so I knew the concept and what to expect in regards to menu and service. The server went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. I hate that we even have to make mention of covid protocols, but all staff had masks on, our server wore gloves and I witnessed them wiping down tables between guests. The bathroom was clean (too much ice tea) and the jalapeño cheddar bun on the burger is never a wrong decision. Fortunately it was a Thursday around 1:00pm and we didn't have to wait at all. read more

Great food and great service. If I was to explain the style to an out-of-towner, I'd say "old school diner meets Tex-mex." The portions are large but that doesn't negatively impact the flavor. And the price is very reasonable. The pancakes are massive! read more

Great Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch place!! The size of all dishes is massive so I wish there was a way to order with smaller portions because I don't like to waste food so come hungry if you have never been to Old West Cafe here or in Grapevine. I was excited about this place because I've heard great things. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I understand being busy but you should never rush food because it compromises the quality. I ordered the veggie omelette BUT the onions made it inedible. They weren't cooked long enough so I'm not sure who likes a cup of crunchy onions in their omelette. I picked around it and ate the eggs and hashbrownsNow, the pancake was good. Not hot, but good. Service was okay. The manger offered to remake it but I didn't have time so I politely declined. ago This local denton brunch spot is phenomenal for the price. Huge portions of delicious food. I enjoyed the Rita's tacos with eggs, hash browns, jalapenos, salsa, queso, and sour cream. The chicken fried chicken was good fresh. I recommend splitting it so there are no leftovers. The french toast was a sweet treat to finish the meal. Not a huge fan of the hot chocolate, but the whip cream on top is heavenly. Our waiter, lance, was polite, prompt, made great suggestions for our meal, and checked on us frequently. Huge portions, excellent service and good food. I got the lemon blueberry pancake with eggs, crispy bacon and sourdough toast. It was all very yummy despite not getting the toast right (they gave me plain white bread, but my FIL ate it so it didn't go to waste). I was pleased with the thick bacon too! My kids really liked the French toast with cinnamon crunch and the breakfast tacos...and my kids are picky with breakfast food. Overall this was a great experience. I would definitely go back. Note that you have to view the menu on your phone so you may want to load it before going from their website as it took forever to load at the table for me. read more

Honestly a incredible place to eat the portions are great. Me and my girlfriend love eating here so often. However on Tuesday March 26 we got served by an older lady. She was nice at first but however when my girlfriend decided she was done with her food. We just moved to Denton. But, this was our first time at an OWC. I loved the service and the menu items and the taste of the food. The wait was not long at all. When our friend came to visit the next week (last week) we took him there for breakfast and everything was great then too. You can't really go wrong here. Lots of options and the portions are pretty big. The prices are a lil high, but to have that taste?? It's worth it! We will be back for sure. read more

Oldwest still smells like the remedy to an ultra hangover. Aromas so rich and buttery, I am overcome with nostalgia! (only those who bleed green truly understand) The old location was in a really tight space with rustic decor and the wait was always ridiculous. Well worth it for the best French toast and a mug of decadent hot chocolate with whipped cream piled to the heavens. After 7 years, we finally reunite! Only this time the establishment is in a new building - ample seating, clean, feels unfamiliar but the food and bottomless coffee still hit the spot. Breakfast was amazing. I tried a bite of my husband's Lemon Blueberry Pancakes, AWESOME!! The server was attentive and food came quickly. Coffee was right on, not to strong or to mild. I went to the new Oldwest Cafe on the interstate in search of the inexpensive and overly delicious food of my college days. I was all too shocked to see the old Black Eyed Peas transformed into a western saloon. As the server introduced the new specialty drinks in a western outfit, I had my reservations that the new establishment wouldn't hold up to the expectations of my memories. I didn't give up hope and we all ordered the food we dearly loved. My sausage pancakes were just as good as I remembered it. The Peacemaker was all the biscuits and gravy your grandma couldn't even dream of. And the omelette was more food than one person could handle. It was just as I remembered and the new addition of a giant iced mocha latte was appreciated. read more

We've tried stopping here many times but there always seem to be a long line of people. Which tells me this place is great. Finally we was able to stop and get in within reasonable time. Once seated our sever Veronica was on point; she was courteous, friendly and personable. Wife had the Mi Migas with hash brown casserole. She really enjoy it and the hash brown casserole was creamy and cheesy, really good. I had the Coosie skillet; YUM, it was scrambled eggs with cheese with chopped bacon, sausage and ham on top served on biscuit and gravy. This is fantastic and highly recommend this dish. All is fabulous here! French toast is best! Everything is always fresh service is great! Expect to wait a bit as they are always packed.. you will not be disappointed this place has it down and food is great. Omelets are huge.. plenty of side options and a lot of variety! I love this place! If you plan to go on a Saturday/Sunday morning be sure to go early. Like when they open early lol If not expect a wait, but it'll be worth it. When they take your name you get a text reply to let you know when your turn is coming. You can see where you virtually stand in line so you know what to expect while waiting. This is a very cool feature. I have only had breakfast here. They used to have a cinnamon pancake that I loved, but they have discontinued it. No worries I found another type of pancake I love. It's the White Chocolate Pumpkin. There are literally white chocolate chips inside the pancake. Their pancakes are huge and fill the entire plate. I can eat one and be satisfied. The other breakfast plates are hearty as well. Staff is always nice and they're uniforms are western wear. Too cute! They have a coffee/juice bar that you can purchase from while you wait. There isn't a lot of room to wait to be seated inside so you may need to wait outside. read more

Although the fried eggs had a pleasant taste, I failed to be more precise on how they were to be cooked as the yolk was liquified. When I ordered the Holiday Brew drip coffee, I wished the cashier had suggested the Bottomless Drip. As I usually drink more than a single cup, I could have saved some money. Regardless, the coffee had a very pleasant taste. When gratuity was requested, it would have been very beneficial to know for what I was tipping? When I ordered off the breakfast menu, the price was not for the raw ingredients but the cost of it being made. The same with ordering drip coffee. When I saw the silverware by the cream and coffee sweetener, I expected to grab my own utensils. As it was my initial visit, the sign to bus my own table was totally unexpected. It definitely explained why there were a lot of crumbs on the table. Since the sign was near the back, it would have been easily missed if I had not visited the restroom.

My server was doubling as the door guy but what surprised me was that there wasn't another soul in the restaurant at 12:15 on a Friday afternoon. They have a wide open space for seating which to me might potentially get loud if it was busy, but with just me in the place it was quiet. I didn't feel any bad vibes at all from the place. I just happened to drive over while I was waiting for my number to be called at the tax office down the street. Luckily the service was speedy and fast. Cheese enchilada with carne and a hard ground beef taco are my go-to at any restaurant. The enchilada was fine, but the taco really underwhelmed me. Felt like I could make a similar flavor with ground beef and a packet of taco seasoning at home. I will say the shell was well-done to be fair it had a nice and light crispiness to it. Price vs food quality I'd say a smidge on the high side. I did the pick 2 for $13 whereas I felt like it should have been in the $10 range. But new place and new building I can understand if the price point needed to be higher. The menu did have a lot of other meals that I might have been willing to try if not pressed for time. Last thing I wanted to do was miss my number being called a the tax office. So speed-wise also great at this place. I got a couple refills of tea and a to go cup from the waiter and it was much appreciated. It wasn't the service here, nor the location I think. It is the food that probably needs to improve some. I left a $20 which was more than enough for the plate and tea and for the waiter who wasn't at fault at this place.
