Beautiful morning to eat outside on the balcony.

I had breakfast this morning here and it was my first time visiting. I ordered a large coffee and a breakfast burrito. I ordered my burrito with chicken sausage. It was a beautiful morning so I sat outside overlooking Colorado Blvd. I ordered and paid for my food inside. The staff was friendly. As I sat at a table my coffee was brought outside. The coffee that they brew was good. I only had to wait about 10 minutes for my burrito and when my burrito was brought to the table it looked great. They cut it in half and it came with a aioli dipping sauce. The chicken sausage was absolutely delicious and juicy. The potatoes were cooked to perfection. The potatoes were nice and crispy on the sides so when I bit into the burrito they was a nice crunch with each bit. There was also guacamole, cheese, pico de gallo and black beans inside. The aioli sauce had a subtle heat element and really made the burrito pop with flavor. I was presently surprised on my first visit and asked myself why I did not visit them earlier. I look forward to many more weekend breakfasts here.

I've only had the breakfast burrito and the quality was so good you could tell anything else they made was going to be fire. This place seems to always be busy so be prepared to wait but whatever it is, it's worth it. The dining area looks chill one day I'll have a seat and try out other things on the menu

Date of visit: May 8, 2026 Selections: Lechera Waffle Chilaquiles Verdes Experience: I was craving waffles and decided to give this place a try after scrolling through the DoorDash app. This place drew me in because they offered chilaquiles too, so I got an order of lechera waffles and their chilaquiles verdes. The delivery took about 50 minutes to get to me after ordering and I was a bit nervous about how soggy both would be, especially the chilaquiles since I like when the chips are mostly hard still. I was pleasantly surprised and thankful that the salsa for the chilaquiles came on the side and though the waffle wasn't as crispy as I thought it would be, it was thick and fluffy and tasted great with the toppings. The salsa for the chilaquiles had a kick to them that I enjoyed and it went great with the cheese, red onions, and sunny side egg that came with it. I definitely would want to check this place out in person and try their other options as well!

Always on the hunt for a new breakfast spots, OTC came through with good food and excellent service. No frills decor just a nice mural, tables and chairs. Only gripe was it was somewhat hot but possibly due to where we were seated at. Outdoor seating available. Delicious breakfast burrito w/ pollo sausage, black frijoles potatoes pico guacamole and queso. Their French toast and waffles were delicious as well. Mocha latte was good match was good Americano per son was good. Check them out!

Cute!!!! Stopped here for a nourishing meal before spending the day walking around the Pasadena convention center, and this was absolutely the right move. This little space was packed with a line to order and that told me everything I needed to know. I unknowingly ordered the largest Matcha beverage I have ever attempted to drink and it was so very perfect. I dream about this. The food was fresh and hearty, and I'm ashamed to say I didn't even eat it all.. This small café is a hidden gem and will be my new pre-convention center tradition!

Staff was very friendly . You order inside an if you choose to eat there they bring the food to you. Got the breakfast burrito with turkey bacon , it was good but nothing extraordinary . That's all I got , but they seemed to have a lot of yummy drinks.

Delicious brunch option that I wish I knew about earlier!! Old Town Caffe is both a low-key and popular, affordable option for brunch with super nice staff. The serving sizes were huge-great for sharing! The Caesar salad wrap and waffle slices were delicious! Those waffles were the best I've had in SoCal. I loved the London Fog too; they make the best version! Came on a Thursday morning at 9 am and was able to get a table for 2 without a wait. The rush starts picking up around 10 am.

I went with a friend to Old Town caffe. The cafe is located in the second floor. There is a small adjacent parking lot. We came early in the morning and so we had no trouble finding parking spots. The cafe has a lot of indoor seating. It was clean and had cozy vibes. Their menu includes: breakfast burrito, egg croissants, ham & cheese Croissant, breakfast bagels, salmon scrambled, breakfast sandwiches, Chilaquiles, different types of waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, wraps, salads, vegan options, and more. They have a special menu for kids. In addition, they have fresh drinks, smoothies, lemonades, ice tea, latte, variety of coffee options ,and shakes. I got their chicken sausage burrito. The food was delicious and the portion was huge. My friend ordered a matcha latte and Huevos A La Mexicana. It had scrambled eggs, tomatoes, onion, with sides of potatoes and bread. We both enjoyed our breakfast. The service was very fast. The staff were nice and welcoming. It is a nice cafe to stop by and have a delicious breakfast or lunch. Would definitely come back!

Amazing local breakfast spot. I love that they are open at 7:30am to get your breakfast bright and early. The food portions are just right - not too much and very satisfying. They do a great job in their presentation of their food too! And the taste matches the presentation. Service is attentive and friendly but not overbearing. Cozy interior seating and nice outdoor seating overlooking Colorado blvd. In a very short time, it has become our go-to weekend breakfast spot.

Fantastic breakfast/brunch spot in Pasadena! The location might be easy to miss, but it's located upstairs on the 2nd floor of a plaza above hummus labs and Chams. It has the Urth Cafe vibe- similar food options but also American breakfast offerings like eggs, toast, and bacon/sausage. I had chicken quesadilla for breakfast and loved it. Also really love that they can make an Iced cortado.

One of my favorite brunch places in Pasadena! Small hole in the wall, located in a plaza on the second floor. It's not normally busy since it's tucked away but I hear it can get busy Sunday mornings after church. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, especially with my toddler. The interior is on the smaller side but there is also seating on the patio. Surprisingly, the food is amazing here. You honestly can't go wrong with anything you order, and the portions are huge! Their coffee is always good, as well. I love taking friends and family whenever they visit our area!

Came here over the holidays for a gf's bday brunch. It was busy, but we were able to snag a table within 10 mins. since there seems to be a constant flow of people coming and going. I've eaten at the Indian place next door and never realized there was a brunch place right next door! Overall, a decent brunch place. Some dishes are hit-or-miss for me personally, but I would come back to try more. My group all ordered different coffees/lattes and I loved my latte art. I think we all enjoyed our beverage selections. I had the Vanilla Latte, and the others ordered the Horchata Latte and House Mocha. -Cinnamon Bun (warmed), was standard & good. Shareable size. -Breakfast Burrito, comes with a spicy mayo dip? The gf who ordered asked for salsa verde on the side. She seemed to enjoy it & was able to save the other half for later. -French Toast Combo, very large portion and the gf who ordered this seemed to enjoy it. -Huevos a la mexicana, I would not add chicken next time. It was okay. I didn't particularly like this dish. -Chilaquiles Verdes, I guess they asked if we wanted to add protein/meat to every dish (it does cost extra!). This one would've been fine without it, but we got Chorizo and it was good as well. They have a small restroom available through the back of the kitchen. Service & staff are all friendly. This is an order at the front & pay first place, but they will seat you at a table first so you can look over the menu and then ask you where you are sitting and bring out your food. Parking lot is available around back, but I'm not sure if you have to pay during brunch hours. Otherwise you can try you luck finding street parking (maybe on Green) & if it's Sunday you don't have to worry about the time limit =)

I can tell they used banana puree and it gave a yummy taste and texture. I was able to sub bacon instead of bacon. Hubby enjoyed the pancakes and Green juice. We love the 80s music too

This place was a very pleasant find on our recent trip to Pasadena. The food is amazing, the people are nice. Don't think the service is slow because there are some hard workers (just a few, it's a small business restaurant) behind the counter preparing your very delicious meal! We ate there everyday on our 4 day trip. I'm sitting here craving their eggs, waffles, and AMAZING acai bowls. It is also very well priced. Arrived for a late breakfast. I ordered some iced tea while others in our group placed orders for food. I did not place a food order because they were out of what I wanted. I reviewed their menu before visiting and had something in mind that I thought would be interesting. The others that ordered food stated that the food was ok, not great or memorable. They seemed short staffed and a little overwhelmed. You have to order at the register and pay, then the food is bought to your table. Place could use a little bit of cleaning. The staff is courteous, the food was ok. Would I visit again, probably not. There are many established options in Pasadena. read more

Popped in and grabbed a breakfast burrito to go. So so good! Great flavor. Fluffy potatoes, black beans, nice portion of eggs, and crisp onion in the pico di gallo stood out to me (I love onion!). Also the aioli has a nice spice to it. Lastly, the burrito is nicely toasted on the outside for a good texture. For the price, the portion size is on point for sure! I happened to find this little cafe and decided to try it for breakfast. All I can say is this is my hidden gem and I don't want to tell how good the food is in addition to the way the operation is set up. You order your food at the counter and if you eat there, they give you a number. The server brings the food out pretty fast and you can be in and out in under 30 minutes depending on what you order. If I tell you how good it is it will no longer be my restaurant on my food rotation because it will be too crowded. The staff must have been trained or worked at a restaurant where they were trained on customer service and food preparations because it appears the owners carried it over to their cafe. Portions of food are quite large for the price and is tasty. So if I recommend this restaurant it will be too crowded for me to enjoy. read more

no wayyy this place is such a hidden gem wtf?? unassuming lil place but vibes are so good. whoevers in charge of the music needs a raise lmao they got the lil 70s music videos on youtube and they don't have youtube premium so that's how you know they don't mess around here. *the breakfast burrito is the best in pasadena, in my humble opinion.* the drinks are giving everything starbucks wishes they were giving, we got iced caramel latte and london fog, so bombbbb. you can tell the staff works so hard to make this place happen, our stuff came out within minutes. price point is more than reasonable for the quality, service, and area. definitely coming back here ! buen servicio :) read more

But theirs is so lovely - it was the Sicily ($6.25 - Ethiopian cold brew, orange blossom water, lemon juice, touch of raw sugar, lime zest). It drinks like a refreshing tonic BUT I love that they shake this beverage and then top it with fresh lime zest. Lovely. I also had the ham & cheese croissant and it was awesome. I was eyeing the miso kouign amann but opted out, I'll have to come back for it as well as some of their matcha options!

Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt like I was inconveniencing them just by ordering. A friendly attitude goes a long way, and that was completely missing. The coffee was even more disappointing. It had almost no flavor and tasted watered down, especially for the price. I expected a quality drink, but it was bland and absolutely not worth what I paid. To make matters worse, we were told to leave the patio an hour before the shop was even closing. If the patio has different hours, that should be clearly communicated instead of asking paying customers to leave early. Overall, this was a frustrating experience. Between the unfriendly service, flavorless coffee, and being asked to leave well before closing, I won't be coming back. There are plenty of other cafés in Pasadena that offer much better coffee and treat their customers with respect.

i so badly wanted to love philz's matcha after finding out they launched it yesterday as a regular…read morephilz customer (my office is literally right across the street), i was really excited to try it with some coworkers. unfortunately, we all walked away pretty disappointed. between us, we ordered the regular, strawberry, strawberry mint, and salted caramel matchas. here are my thoughts: regular matcha (medium sweet): honestly the best one of the bunch by far. my only complaint is that it was still very sweet, to the point where it overpowered a lot of the matcha flavor. strawberry & strawberry mint (both medium sweet): this might come down to personal preference, but the strawberry syrup tasted really artificial to me. kind of plastic-y and almost cough syrup-like. i wasn't a fan of either drink, and the strawberry mint is basically the exact same drink with a mint leaf on top. both were also much sweeter than expected, making it hard to taste the matcha itself. salted caramel (light sweet): this was the biggest letdown. i specifically ordered light sweet because caramel is already sweet on its own, but somehow it still tasted like i was drinking a melted candy bar. i actually went back to my office, poured out about a third of the drink, and topped it off with milk just to make it drinkable. even then, it was still overwhelmingly sweet. the caramel drizzle also settles at the bottom of the cup, so i spent half the time stirring it. i think it would mix much better if the drizzle was put along the sides of the cup instead. sadly, this one barely tasted like matcha at all. that said, i'm still a philz fan and will definitely keep coming back. i just think i'll be sticking to what they do best: the coffee.

They are incredibly generous with the rice--seriously, it's a huge portion! My only minor critique is that I would have loved a little more curry to match the amount of rice. We also ordered a side of potato salad, which ended up being one of my favorite bites. It was creamy, flavorful, and the portion was large enough to share. To drink, I had the matcha cream latte. It comes unsweetened, but there's a convenient self-service station stocked with simple syrup, utensils, napkins, and to-go containers so you can customize it however you like. One thing to note is that it's a self-bus restaurant, so after your meal you'll return your tray and dispose of your trash. I had every intention of ordering one of their gorgeous matcha parfaits, but after finishing my meal, I simply didn't have the room. They looked absolutely delicious, though, so I already have a reason to come back. Looking forward to my next visit--and that parfait!

I didn't mind the waiting, but it was stressful waiting in a tight space with their staff coming in and out with huge piles of dishes and you have to be careful if you don't want to be bumped into. This feeling of crowdedness continues to the tables with the spacing between one table to another very tight together. More to this in a bit. The hostess was so sweet, she actually sent us a complimentary Blistered Bread and Ricotta ($14) dish that we both really enjoyed to make up for the wait. The toasted hazelnuts were unnecessary. House Italian Sausage ($26) - They have one of those pizza ovens. The crust was thin and crispy. It was well prepared. However the issue we had with this was the flavor, or rather lacking flavor. The taste of the Italian sausage was overwhelmed by the red onion agrodolce. We both ate a slice and took the rest home. Even as leftovers we weren't excited to eat it. Charred Scallop Risotto ($38) - What really sold me was the baja uni batter that I did not taste much of in this dish. This was a poor execution of a risotto. The texture was off, and the flavor was overwhelmed by whatever cheese they used in this dish. The charred scallop was one single scallop cut in half and overly charred and rubbery in taste. The blue shrimp were shriveled too. We made sure to eat the proteins to prevent waste but you know it's bad when my boyfriend didn't even want to togo this dish. He normally eats anything to prevent waste. Branzino alla Griglia ($38) - Whole grilled branzino topped with eggplant, salsa verde and herb salad. This was the least bad item that we paid for... Although there was a lot of bones to be cautious of. I understand the risk of stumbling on a few bones when ordering a whole fish but this was more than I would have liked. I also didn't like some of the flavors coating the fish. Although from a grilled perspective it was crispy and perfectly cooked. This is a popular business with plenty of patrons to keep them busy. Whatever they like... it isn't what I look for in a business I frequent. I know they don't need my business and I will gladly stay away and save myself all of the trouble. This was way too stressful and there weren't any dishes I need to have again. My experience was so awful I'm being very generous with this 3 star, which is "average".

My fiancé and I returned to Old Town Cafe for brunch today, and this place continues to amaze us. Our first visit last weekend set the bar high -- delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and impeccable service. Today, they somehow managed to top it. This time, my fiancé went for the French toast combo, which was exceptional. Last weekend, they were out of brioche, so she had the waffle combo, which was great, but the French toast was truly something special. The presentation was beautiful, and every bite was even better than it looked. Despite being a busy, smaller establishment, we were lucky enough to grab a table, and the service remained swift and attentive. I had the frozen ube smoothie, which was as delicious as it sounds, while my fiancé enjoyed her acai smoothie -- both drinks were spot-on. The staff here is consistently friendly, making sure everything flows seamlessly, even during peak hours. In just one week, Old Town Cafe has become one of our favorite breakfast spots in Pasadena, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. We had some time to spare and were looking for decent place for breakfast. This cafe have great reviews and we drove some miles to give it a try. It was on Saturday and place was not too busy. Food was ok, maybe slightly too greasy for our taste, cofee was not good, and service was really bad. First of all they are asking you to pay up front and then it literally takes forever to get your food. We had seen people asking for refund after long wait, plates delivered to parties one in a time with the rest of party waiting for their food, full lack of attention from servers, etc. I would recommend you to get your breakfast elswhere, especially if you dont have hours to wait or want a sip of good cofee. read more

First time at Old Town Caffe and I absolutely loved it! I had the verde chilaquiles with added chicken, sausage, and bacon, and everything was packed with flavor. I also tried the blended horchata with espresso, almond milk, and banana purée, and it was insane in the best way. However, once inside, you're greeted with a wide variety of food options, all made to order and served quickly. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the overall service is fast and efficient. I ordered from this café through Uber Eats and absolutely loved it! Definitely want to visit in person next time -- it seems like such a lovely spot. The prices are great, and the food quality really stood out. I got the breakfast bagel and my boyfriend got the lox bagel -- both were 10/10!
