We ate here on Friday morning around 11:00, so you could go either way (breakfast or lunch). Everything on the menu looked yummy, but I went for lunch. The rest of my party (Hubby, Mom, Aunt and Uncle) all went for breakfast. Hubby got pancakes, eggs and a homemade sausage patty. I would go back here just for the sausage patty, it was excellent! Everyone else got typical breakfast fare too: omelets, oatmeal, and fruit. The fruit cup was impressive; everything was bright and delicious looking. Some places will try to give you anemic honeydew and call it a day. I hate that! I went with a lunch of chicken fingers and O.C.C. fries: fries with fried onions, bacon and homemade wiz. They were YUMMY!!!! I put some hot sauce on them too, comfort food perfection. The chicken fingers were pretty good. Next time I'm getting a full plate of O.C.C. fries. The menu is extensive, lots of choices for breakfast and lunch. Some of the items are highlighted, indicating you can get a smaller portion, for a smaller price! On Thursday, Friday and Saturday they are open for dinner and it's BYOB. We'll have to check this out sometime. The Old Croydon Café is not a fancy place, but they have good service, good food, great prices and plentiful portions. This was a definite find! read more

Great breakfast spot. Forget to check-in a lot, but have been coming here for months now. Recommend the biscuits instead of toast. They are delicious. Fruit cups change up what's in them but they are big and fresh. My favorite so far is runny eggs over corned beef hash. The scrapple is great, so are the breakfast potatoes. Today I had the grilled pastrami on rye with Swiss and 1,000 dressing. The only thing missing is some sauerkraut. It would be so much better. The only breakfast dish I haven't been thrilled about is the sausage biscuit with gravy. The reason is because it's a sausage patty on an amazing biscuit. I wish they just put fresh ground sausage in the gravy instead. Overall it's a great place, with just a few changes I think it could be amazing and a spot people would travel to. read more

Service was good, our server was attentive to the needs of the group through out the meal. Food was delicious!! Loved the sweet ricotta pancakes. Dated and out of style in a comforting way, no pretensions. Breakfast was well prepared and delicious. The server was completely tuned in to the needs of all her customers, when i complemented her, she just laughed and said she had to be with a 8 year old always tugging at her for something or another. Less than 5 star because of exterior trash and dirty looking floor inside. But otherwise just the friendly good food diner experience I needed. read more

The good stuff first. We were able to sit down and order quickly. Our waitress was a delight and very attentive. My wife had a pizza steak that she liked. I had french toast with a side of scrapple. The french toast was great. The scrabble, slightly over cooked. Everyone else there appeared to be friendly folks. Here were the problem points. The table we were at was rocking back and forth. Some others were not well leveled as well. Cleanliness was an issue. The silverwear was not well cleaned. The floor needs to be scrubbed desperately. I looked behind the counter and it looked as though the last time someone cleaned under the appliances that Bush was president (1st or 2nd, you decide). I will likely go back as I wasn't eating off the floor and am not very picky. But they should worry if the Bucks County Health Dept stops by for a quick once over. read more

This has become our new favorite breakfast joint. I love that they allow half orders on all items that are highlighted on the menu. So if you're in the mood for more than one item you are able to get a half order of both. The potato skins are amazing! They stuff it with a scrambled egg, bacon, and drizzle homemade cheese wiz on top. They have daily specials and it always changes. If You're in the mood for a certain item just ask and more than likely they will make it. They're just those type of people. The only thing to be aware of is it is cash only. read more

Local, little and lots of food! The coffee was fresh and always refilled. I had the ricotta cheese pancakes, good but ricotta needed to be mixed in more into batter. Husband had a crab omlette and says it was good. The potatoes needed more seasoning, which btw is good seasoning, but cooked nicely. Nothing wrong with it at all. Are you down with O.C.C ? Yeah you know me! The Old Croydon Cafe is a wonderful little breakfast joint in the heart of Croydon. So far I've been to this place twice and I will be back again. They have the best hash browns in the tri state area and I am a hash brown enthusiast. If I had anything negative to say it would be that I didn't really enjoy their scrapple but the other food made up for it. I had an incredible omelette with bacon,spinach,feta, and mushrooms. This is the first and last time I have ever been to OCC. I walked in with my friend, sat at the counter and was promptly greeted by the server. Ordered coffee, which was very hot and delicious, but that's where the good news ends. We ordered a diablo omelette, a roadhouse omelette, side of corn beef hash, and a side of scrapple. One omelette we decided to have home fries, the other with grits. The diablo is so overpowering with hot sauce that you can't taste the other ingredients. The roadhouse was just kind of thrown together, and you could taste the lack of quality in it. Hash was out of a can (as per the usual) but it seemed the cook just threw it in the microwave to warm it up instead of cooking it on the grill for a minute. Scrapple was overly salty to the point I could only take two bites of it before I felt sick. The grits are more like seedy water, nothing we tried to add to it could fix it. The cook came out and wandered around quite a bit and then went back to cooking. I was directly in front of the window so I could see his every move there. At one point he wiped his nose and then proceeded to plate up some food. At that point I was just DONE. Quality of the food was horrible, kitchen staff was horrible, although our server was fantastic! Very sweet younger woman. Save your time and money and head over to Radcliffe or The New Madison. I won't be back. Hopefully they fix their kitchen issues or they'll be out of business soon. read more

My absolute favorite nook for breakfast/brunch! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed amongst small town locals and those who are fortunate to know it exists. The menu is stacked with options you will, definitely, be asking your server for a few more minutes so you can decide your order. I always create my own omelets and love that they have jalapenos and salsa so I can add a personal spicy, Tex-Mex taste. Its quaintness makes it a great place to share a meal while catching up on life with family and friends. The staff are always pleasant with smile and never hesitate to accommodate. The prices are more than reasonable for the all-around a-plus service and dining experience. It's cash only and bring extra for tipping your server very well......they all deserve it! You are guaranteed to leave here with a full, stuffed belly and a sunny morning smile! The Old Croydon Café is great! It's a classic, family owned, "Mom and Pop" diner that has really grown in many ways over the past few years. The owners are locals themselves and have really put their own twist on many old diner favorites, such as the French Dip (served with the chef's own unique brown gravy), and served up many creations of their own, such as their multiple specialty omelets, each with a unique name. My personal favorite dish continues to be the Blackened Chicken Sandwich, which includes cheddar cheese, grilled onions, peppers, and cayenne seasoned chicken on a toasted bun. Their lunches are always served with a side of their homemade French fries. Their chicken is always tender and juicy, the potatoes are always fresh you always leave with a full belly. The prices are very reasonable; a meal for two is never over $20. Be sure to tip the waitresses! The service continues to be a delight, with many cheerful, happy-to-help waitresses who have sincere countertop conversations with regulars and are always friendly to new faces. Although the current team is fantastic, they're often understaffed and a couple of the waitresses tend to get too caught up in conversations; the combination of great food, great staff and great atmosphere sometimes leave lines trailing out the door, and it's not uncommon for costumers to be left waiting for up to a half hour just to get a table. On a busy day, a table for two might have to wait that long just to have their order taken. Despite the waiting factor, this little diner continues to be one of my favorite spots in the Old Croydon area. read more
