I ordered the Florentine Benedict with home fries and added green pepper and onion (worth the $2 upcharge, in my opinion). I also liked that you get a choice of sides--hash browns, breakfast potatoes, or fruit cocktail--always a nice touch depending on what you're in the mood for. They serve fresh brewed iced tea, which is always a big plus for me. My Benedict was delicious--perfectly done--and the portion was generous. What a great little breakfast/lunch venue. The staff is very friendly, courteous, and pleasant. Very nice clean cozy modern look inside. Due to their delicious food, weekends it can get very busy. But I'll gladly wait at any restaurant if the food is well worth waiting for and it definitely is here! They are consistently good. One thing I really like is there Florentine Benedict. When we walked into Waterside Cafe we were greeted immediatly. The server greeted us and brought coffee and then it took her a long time to get back to us. We finally ordered and the food came out within 10/15 minutes. The food was okay. The potatos were incredibly undercooked. When I was a kid this area of Bensalem was all truck stops and factories. The Penn Salt Manufacturing Co. that stood where Waterside housing is today was actually targeted by a 4-man team of Nazi saboteurs that were ordered to blow it up in June of 1942. It seemed strange to pull into this area, because all I can remember was a saw-toothed roofed chemical factory along the river with rail lines and tanker cars sitting out front. The housing there now is much nicer on the eyes! The Waterside Cafe takes up bottom floor retail space along State Road with a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. They offer breakfast, lunch, a kids menu and bakery items. The inside is an L shaped diner with bar seating, TV's and plenty of tables. The server was a very nice lady who was quick with service and wasn't bashful about giving menu recommendations. Her top choice was the Chorizo Burrito - Chorizo Sausage, Cheddar Cheese, Peppers, Onions, Scrambled Eggs in a Tortilla, Served with Sour Cream & Red Salsa, Home Fries, Breakfast Potatoes or Fruit Cocktail $13.49. I went with that. It needed some hot sauce to give it flavor, but overall it was nothing special, but nothing terrible. Their coffee is pretty darn good! It's a medium to darker roast with some body, not a thin and watery weak cup. I will return to explore more of the menu if I find myself back in this area of Bensalem. Thanks guys! read more

So the bride and I, along with our youngest son, went to lunch here on Friday, 4/24/26. We've been coming here for breakfast just about every weekend and it's always great! Lunch, was no different! I got chicken fingers to start, along with a cup of chicken noodle soup. The bride got French onion soup and my son had the seafood bisque soup. All of the soups were excellent, as were the chicken fingers! I also got a plain burger, my son got the "ponderosa burger", on the specials menu and the bride had the stuff peppers, also on the specials menu. All were very good! Arrived and parking is tough but found a spot just down the street. Entered and was sat right away. Nice and clean with a big menu. Andrea ordered a cob salad and I ordered a Monti Cristo sandwich that comes with fries, slaw and a soup for $14.99 which is different for me. Andrea got the cream of chicken soup and I got the seafood bisque soup. Both were thick creamy and delicious. If I had to lean towards one, I would choose the cream of chicken soup. The seafood bisque and a small hint of spicy towards it. Now that is just me I'm not a spicy guy. However again it was delicious. Lunch came within 15 min. The cob salad was full of warm chicken and bacon. Very fresh. My sandwich came out and the French toast was done nicely and all meats inside were fresh. Now listen again with my taste buds was not a fan of a sandwich with French toast. But it was a good portion and fresh all the way around. Lunch for two with just waters was $32. The breakfast bowl was very large with scrambled eggs with bacon, ham, peppers and onions. The Chicken potpie was easily enough for two people. Waterside cafe is our favorite lunch and breakfast spot near the Delaware River and River Road in lower bucks county. We went for lunch last weekend, 4 "girls". All of our food was very good, the service excellent. It was quite busy and thus a bit noisy, but very bright and cheerful. Handicapped parking closeby. I had open faced tuna with fries, both were excellent. Another dish was eggs with bacon and pancakes, all was good, especially the pancakes which were excellent which did not even need syrup, was soft, fluffy and sweet alone with butter. One person got a hamburger and fries which she said was very good. The other person had a reuben, she said the inside of the sandwich was good, but the bread appeared stale and without taste, overall good rating. We will return! Great server, new to restaurant. It takes me a few minutes to walk to Waterside cafe, so as you can imagine I've been here quite a few times!! When I don't feel like cooking, I can just take a quick walk and pick up some tasty, consistent and quality food! They have a plethora of options for carnivores and vegetarians. I usually eat breakfast here, but I've had their lunch items too. Equally delicious! The staff are very friendly and happy to get you anything your heart desires. For example, I like to ask for a little more whipped cream on my Belgian waffles. :) Bensalem doesn't offer a lot of mom and pop food options like Waterside cafe, so this is definitely one of my go to spots. There are only 5 parking spaces for customers who aren't disabled, so they must expect that most people eating there will live in that small neighborhood. The quality of their food suggests that they will soon outgrow their restrictive environment and need to expand their parking facilities to accommodate their anticipated success. The dining room offers about a dozen tables and a counter with six stools. I sat on one of them as a sole diner, facing the work area. A server walked over with menu and inquiry about something to drink. At that time of morning, coffee was the only thing on my mind. It was strong and bracing. The breakfast choices were extensive, and I selected the Veggie Omelet & Home Fries with Rye Toast. It was all quite good, with a load of fresh greens and melted cheddar. Including the half plate of potatoes and two slices of buttered bread, it was too much for me to consume, but a strong tasty breakfast all the way down. Service was first rate. While this stretch of Bensalem is off my beaten path, I look forward to the occasion that leads me back there so I can sample more morning suggestions @ Waterfront. read more

Food was absolutely excellent. I came with my mom who was visiting and she loved the omelet (and she's a picky person about that). I had the steak sandwich and it was probably the best I've had since moving here a few decades ago. Only complaint I have about this restaurant is that parking is a bit sparse but you'll find a spot somewhere. Don't let that stop you from coming here because the food is excellent. I already enjoy my first time experience here. Parking spaces might be a bit limited, but I was here for breakfast/brunch, so not much cars. I was greeted first thing when I walked in and seated right away. With a baby in the baby carseat, there were able to accommodate our needs. The menu was filled with many selections. I was debating between Waterside omelette or the Maryland Benedict, which at the end I ordered the seafood omelette because I can eat my omelette and also have jumbo crab meat. The food portion here is quite big. I wasnt able to finish everything myself. Too fulfilling. The food was good. I will definitely return and try out their egg Benedict and maybe their lunch menu as well. The waitress was very friendly and check on us a few times in case we need anything.
