I didn't have the pleasure of visiting Dog & Bull before it was renovated, but I visited last night and can't wait to return. My friend and I made a reservation for 5:30 PM (just in case) as we read online that reservations were recommended, but I don't actually think one was needed. When you walk in, it's bright and inviting. The garage doors throughout the property provide a ton of natural light. I can only imagine how lovely it is when they're open in the summer. Additionally, the outside has a nice patio and an area with a fire pit. The restaurant's layout was designed wonderfully! Our server was Alex (Alexandria) and she was the epitome of exceptional service. She checked in on us multiple times and always had a smile on her face when she came over. We really appreciated having her. The baked feta and hummus appetizer was just as delicious as it looks in the photo. The thick pieces of garlic, roasted red peppers, olives, cucumbers and pita bread triangles paired so nicely with the feta. The hummus was warmed up and it looked like the kitchen staff may have torched the top of it. It was phenomenal. Boy do I have notes on the lentil burger - it was 10/10!! I'm not a big bean person and even though this burger had beans in it, it somehow tasted like an actual beef burger. Sounds crazy, I know, but trust and believe it was pure excellence. I added cheddar for an additional charge and upgraded my regular fries to garlic parm fries. Finally, the caramel apple bread pudding... oh my oh my! What a DELIGHT. The top was piled high with a big scoop of frosting. Yes, you read that right. Frosting! Not ice cream! You can taste the apple pieces in the bread pudding. My friend and I wanted to order it twice. Georgines Express is now open directly across the parking lot from the original Georgines location! Same low prices with some changes and menu additions. I've attached the new menu in photos. Items like chicken parm still come with two sides or pasta but there is now a small and a large version. There are fewer side options but my favorites are still on this list! It's no longer cafeteria style, you order on a kiosk but tell your sides to the counter person once you order. I got the small chicken parm. It was still a very nice portion size. Sides came in small containers instead of the sectioned platters previously offered. Rice pudding and their famous cheese dips are available in the refrigerated cases. They still have a beer take out section but have added alcoholic slushies to go! They look yummy! The inside eating area is small. There are some video games and lottery available onsite as well. Unfortunately it is uncomfortably warm inside. I do not recommend eating onsite, I think this is more of a to go kind of location. I felt bad for the employees, I really hope they upgrade their HVAC. It's going to be awful inside during the 100 degree heat wave coming this week and also can't be good for food to sit in the heat. I'm so glad to have this more affordable and to go version of Grorgine's back.
