This restaurant has been here for many many years. It is a hidden gem. Very neat inside. The tiki bar is the neatest. Their hurricane drink is their trademark cocktail and is really great! Only $12.00 and 1 will make ya feel it. Be careful! The fried noodles, duck sauce and spicy mustard are very good. I haven't had a bad meal here yet. Our waiter was ok. I was in the neighborhood and came across Hong Luck on DoorDash. I ordered the shrimp egg foo young combination platter, which came with sauce on the side, white rice, and an egg roll. I also added a can of soda to my order. The food was amazing! I really appreciated the option to have the sauce on the side. The portion was generous--I had enough for leftovers the next day. The egg foo young was packed with flavor, and the rice was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend Hong Luck and will definitely order again! read more

Was in search of an old school Chinese restaurant and I found it! The drinks were delicious! The wonton soup was awesome, a dark broth loaded with scallions and pork strips. The wontons were delectable. The chicken in foil brought back the memories of days gone by. These are so hard to find nowadays, and so worth the trip. Dumplings were good. This place has not lost the meaning of value. The combo platters come with soup, egg roll, meal, rice and dessert! Everything was old school authentic and tasty. Service was able to keep up even though they were busy. Super friendly and helpful. Inside was old school, the Chinese zodiac placemats, the tiki booths, and pufferfish lights! We were in the area and in the mood for Chinese food...We searched on Yelp and came across Hong Luck. In the pictures the booths looked super cute and intimate with the bamboo curtains. When we pulled up, we were like, this used to be a diner...lol. And when we walked in, it still looked like a diner but they just put the bamboo curtains up at the booths. When you walk in, to the right is the "bar", and to the left is seating. When we got there it was super quiet. We were the only ones seated in the dining area. Because of this we heard ALL of the conversations of the servers at the hostess station. They could have had some music in the restaurant for some ambience. When we left there were a few more tables seated but it still seems awfully quiet except for the staff's conversations. We were hungry, but weren't sure what to have. We asked our server what was most popular on the menu. Their menu did read like a diner menu for a Chinese restaurant as there were so many options. She suggested the steak kabobs and a few of the entrees. We ended up getting the steak kabobs and the mandarin chicken. The server brought out complimentary wontons and two sauces. One was almost like a mustard/wasabi sauce. Very spicy, but a little of it was very good. Then she brought out the steak kabobs. There were 4 kabobs. They didn't look the most appealing, but the flavor was great. They were almost like a burnt tip. As they were burnt and a bit crispy on the outside, but super tender and juicy on the inside. Dipped in the spicy sauce really made them even better. There was pineapple also on the kabobs. Then she brought out our entree. The mandarin chicken was the perfect amount of crisp and meat. It wasn't overly citrusy but had good flavor. It could have used just a tad more sauce to mix with the rice. But overall very very good. What the ambience lacked was definitely made up by the food. I have been coming to this restaurant for almost 2 years and I truly love this rare gem. The cocktails, combination platter meals, fried rice, the friendly owner and the staff are all phenomenal. The reason for this post is because of their 'Specials' and eating this succulent Spicy Garlic Boneless Rib Sliders & Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice because I could kiss the person who created this!! Who thinks of some of these combinations because they are a grand slam of flavor! The prices are reasonable for every menu item including the cocktails which are usually balanced. (There were no guns) only harassment from the employees. Of course LEO showed up in force. The decor appears a bit dated, but everything is clean, and the entire ambiance reminds me of home (I'm from Hawaii). The drink and food menus also evoke the islands. There are pupus, a Mauna Loa and a Waikiki (drinks), and a fair selection of other items that are named in honor of places or things in the Hawaiian islands. We ordered combination platters, which include a soup, an egg roll, white or pork fried rice, the entree, and ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or orange (I suspect this last one is a sherbet)). I ordered the sesame chicken combination platter with wonton soup, pork friend rice, and vanilla ice cream (all pictured). It was delicious, and it was a great value for the cost. The staff were friendly, and the food came out very quickly. While i didn't see any other Asian customers, all of the staff appeared to be Asian, and the food really did remind me of home. It's definitely a new favorite of mine, and I look forward to coming back to try new things in the future. read more

UPDATE: What really solidifies this place as our favorite is how they stand up to shitty people posting negative Yelp reviews for shitty reasons like a missing dipping sauce. We moved closer and come here regularly now!! Service is exceptional. Jimmy always takes great care of us when we dine-in. Food is leaps and bounds better than any other place I've had on the East or West coast. We've added the beef skewers to our regular order now. So good. I love the decor at Hung Luck. It's has that old school Chinese restaurant look with dim lighting and bamboo. The main dining room is also traditional with murals. Food is the usual Chinese fare and always good. We ordered 2 appetizers for 4 people to share and it was more than enough. The BBQ spare ribs were tender and lightly glazed. We prefer that to typical Chinese spare ribs which are usually painted with red bbq sauce. Crab Rangoon was crispy on the outside and creamy inside. Excellent. Our entrees were also standard menu items; steak with onions, kung pao chicken, general tso chicken and sweet and sour chicken. Portion sizes were generous and everything was tasty. Service was great. Our server kept our beverages refilled and brought us an ample supply of crispy noodles and duck sauce. Will be back soon. read more

Hong Luck is a traditional Chinese American restaurant on New Rogers Road, Levittown, PA. The same family has run the shop for over two decades. Bamboo screens and petrified blowfish are the most noticeable decor accents. I was there for lunch earlier in the week on a first visit. My order was taken by the husband, although his wife was also out front at times. They were both friendly, if not loquacious. The menu was large, with a backpage of luncheon special combo plates. I went with the Hunan Beef, which included cup of soup (wonton) and pork fried rice. In my experience, Hunan style is a spicy cuisine that gets it heat from a fermented black bean sauce and secondarily, Szechuan chili peppers. This dish had neither, but instead seemed to be overloaded with straight black/white pepper and salt. It made me thirsty instantly. Although the beef was thinly sliced and tender, the sauce made it difficult to enjoy. On the other hand the beef stock in the wonton soup was better than average, the dumpling not too thick skinned and the meat filling, decent. The fried rice was a bit on the hard side and had seen better days. This isn't in my neighborhood, and it is doubtful I would return given my first taste impressions. Obviously, they have succeeded all this time without my involvement, and they will no doubt continue to do so hereafter. read more

I have been a customer for at least 10 years. Lately, I noticed the prices rose and food quality diminished significantly. Beef is poor quality and the shrimp tend to be smaller, farm raised frozen, and so salty it was difficult to finish the meal. I am sure chicken and pork quality declines well. You can raise the prices but maintain the quality of the food to keep your customer base happy. read more

To be honest I was disappointed because I ordered a dish that I had expectations for. Chow mein is a dish that is served with crispy noodles and topped with a sauce with veggies and your choice of meat. Hong Luck's "chow mein" includes the sauce however their "crispy noodles" as they described comes in the same bag as the wonton strips for soups. It was a huge disappointment and to be honest all they had to do was stir fry some noodles instead they gave out some prepackaged chips they call noodles that were pretty much the same as those you'd put in a salad. I also ordered their curry beef which was filled with more vegetables than actual beef. It was good but not really worth it for a dish with mostly vegetables. I expected that they'd be an authentic Chinese restaurant as they claim to be but it's pretty much a sit down, Chinese take out restaurant. I'll probably order from them again if I'm ever in the mood for Chinese take out. read more
