Came in for lunch with my daughters early in the week as they requested Chinese buffet and we had not tried it here yet. Really pleased with this one. They have a ton of offerings, it is very clean and was surprisingly busy for the middle of the week. Given prior reviews, we did not go to the bathrooms. One daughter had a whole plate of fresh fruit and was thrilled. The other tried a little bit of each Chinese main and liked about 60% which is good for a picky kid! I got the usuals to "test" things and it all passed - chicken on a stick, yaki soba noodles, lemon pepper chicken, crab rangoon, siu mai, and jello. I also picked up what I thought might be a fried zucchini piece and it turned out to be a very flat chicken nugget - also good! We didn't eat any of the stir fry and only a piece or two of the sushi - all rolls other than the ebi. Ice cream is the soft serve machine and the girls were happy with crafting their own cones. I kept seeing this place all over tiktok, so I had to give it a chance. The food was pretty good; I loved the assortment of items they had. I was pleasantly surprising to see the amount of seafood they had: shrimp, seafood boil, mussels, squid, octopus, etc. The star of the show was definitely the habachi since you can build your own plate, and they cook it fresh for you! I just wish the quality was a little better for some dishes. The walnut shrimp was very tasty as well! The service was nice; the cashier was very friendly, and you pay first before eating. The price is very affordable for what you get, and you get 2 hours of unlimited food. The ambiance was very clean and had a more modern take to it than most Asian buffets. This place was good. Have some different options. I was a little hesitant to go to the hibachi and sushi area, but they had some of the traditional dishes. Your teriyaki beef and sweet and sour chicken. Have some kid cuisines too. Service was nice. Price was reasonable. However like some of the other reviews. The bathroom is pretty unkept. I had to come back and check this place out when I had more time. I stopped in around 7pm on a Friday night. Considering that I live in Rogers Park and have to pass at least 4 other Chinese Buffet to get to Okini Buffet. I've read the previous reviews and I can say when I went all the bathroom issue has been resolved. At least in the men's room. I asked a nice lady "How was the ladies room?" After looking at me crazy she responded "Good." The hibachi line had about 3 people waiting, I didn't try it but what was coming off the hibachi looked good. I returned to my favorites, honey chicken, shrimp fried rice, lo mein noodles and the black pepper chicken. I also discovered the fried shrimp, crab stuff shrimp, sushi, chicken with mushrooms and broccoli. Everything I had was delicious. Too bad I don't have a second stomach. The atmosphere was chill that night I had a great on and off conversation with the couple at the next table. A variety of dishes, the awesome staff and a great value is why this is now my favorite Chinese buffet spots. One of my favorite tips I can offer is stir the food in the pan. The food on top will always be cooler than the food on the bottom. My biggest smallest complaint is I couldn't find any hot mustard and I still haven't learned how to do a perfect swirl for my ice cream. read more

It's your typical Asian buffet. Nothing spectacular or different other than the fruit. They had fresh cherries. Food was tasty and piping hot. Kids are on a sliding scale. Under 3 is like $5 but older kids are more I don't remember exactly. Week nights are about $20 a person. Not bad. Hibachi line was a bit too long so I skipped it. Had some of the sushi and small octopi. Seemed mostly Chinese style cooking from what I sampled not much other styles. Still decent and worth a try. We'll be back. read more

My fiancé and I heard about this new grand opening and had to check it out. The place was aesthetically nice but in terms of food, there can be a lot of improvements. I noticed the food was cold and I think it's important to keep the food warm especially at a buffet, the fountain drink machine also ran out of ice quickly. I think I expected more food options and better quality. Food needs to be filled up more because it runs out fast. I enjoyed the noodles but I wasn't a fan of the eggrolls because it had this reddish pink filling like the cabbage inside the eggrolls turned bad and it was such a turn off. There needs to be more options and like I said the food was cold and not enjoyable at all. I felt like the advertisement on social media was overly hyped and didn't meet our expectations. We were excited to try it and left super disappointed. As a paying customer, here are some key tips: Have a lot of options because it's a buffet and people like a lot of food options. Find a way to keep all the hot food warm because everything served was very cold and tasted stale. Make sure the fountain drink machine always has clean cups and the ice is filled because it ran out very quick. If you're going to do big advertisements on social media, make sure the food quality and options are up to par. Tell customers to stop taking the Siracha bottles to their tables and using it as their personal sauce. Have a note printed to give people instructions on serving themselves the sauce in the sauce container and not being greedy because other customers need the sauce too. read more

We decided to visit after seeing a lot of Instagram ads--my kids were really excited to check it out. The concept is fun and definitely appealing for families, which I appreciated. We went around 8pm (weekend), and it was very crowded. Because of the volume of guests, the food trays were emptied quickly and not always replenished fast enough, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. During one refill, the tongs were placed onto the trays somewhat abruptly, which startled my kids. With so many families dining, a little more care in those moments would go a long way. On a positive note, the table servers were attentive and efficient at clearing dishes. I'd recommend visiting during non-peak hours for a better experience. With improved crowd management and more consistent attention during busy times, this place has strong potential. read more

Place is new, the environment is clean and beautifully remodeled. The food was really good one of the best buffets with really quality food & I MEAN all food was authentic if its own (Orange chicken, sushi)! The service was friendly. I will begin here, I have been waiting for a new spot to open where once was Old County. From the start, greeted immediately as soon we walked up. Very friendly staff, very spacious, clean location with plenty of space. The okino bunny is nice touch. The food started off slightly cold but it was a because something happened and they were planning on closing, but the food was hot after a little bit. Very disappointed- heard of this new buffet and we were excited to try it out. Multiple empty food containers, options were limited & options lacked flavor. The worst part was the bathroom. This place just opened last week and the cleanliness is already questionable. Broken toilet led to piss & overflowed toilet water. Let me tell you about this place! We found this newly opened buffet when we were looking for a restaurant to take our mother out for her 93rd birthday dinner with a number of family members. I called a few days ahead to find out if they had a private room. Diego, the manager, set me up with the room and we had to make a deposit refundable after we arrived. It could have also been put toward our bill if we were paying for the group. Because we only had 20 people, we shared the room with another small party of about 20 people too. We arrived on our reserved date and time and were seated promptly. The staff were so attentive with taking away used plates, preparing ordered food at the Hibachi Grill, and keeping the buffet refreshed with food. A member of our party saw a small child touch food on the buffet with their bare hand and told an attendant. The attendant alerted the family member and promptly took away the food. The staff provided a small personalized birthday cake for our mom and sang Happy Birthday to her while holding an illuminated Happy Birthday Sign. We enjoyed ourselves and took a family photo near the entrance after our two hour time was reached. In short, the food and service were tops. Diego went out of his way to ensure we had a good time and enjoyed the moment. WE WILL BE BACK! read more

Pros - clean , everything is new and they use real plates and silverware. Been to a buffet that uses disposable plates and only plastic forks. Cons - not much of a selection, not even on build your own hibachi side. Shrimps were big but over cooked . They were mushy. So basically they were fried mushy shrimp. The green beens were raw when they are supposed to be fried, They also lacked the seasoning. The lo main noodles were also just not right. This 3 things are usually staples of all Chinese buffets and if everything else is wrong these are usually good but not here. read more

I also heard online about the grand opening and brought some friends to check it out. Filthy. The bathrooms are as bad as people are saying. The food was neither fresh nor being restocked. Some items smelled funky. Very hot inside overall and the cold trays were barely maintaining temp. $19.99 dinner sounds good (cheaper than most in the area), but you'll walk out hoping you hadn't gone. The ice cream is thick in a good way, very creamy. Sodas are Pepsi products (typical for buffets) I had hibachi steak with veggies. Steak smelled/tasted a bit off, I assume it was just low quality beef, will update if i get sick. I also had steamed veggies, sushi, and plantains. FYI: Most trays of stir fry had crumbs of meat, mostly just veggies left over. They did not replenish the whole time I was there. Few other issues also came up, but those are personal preferences (sauces, flavors, etc). Food= (note I tried about 50% of the buffet) based on what I tried, overall good. most dishes had good flavor, not too salty, good quality/quantity of meat. few dishes missed the mark (too salty, poor after-taste, not well seasoned). I did not try any sushi but I typically only eat sushi at restaurants which solely specialize in Japanese cuisine. many of the dishes reminded me of my parents' restaurants. dessert-- fair (this could be better); but typically not a strength of asian buffets. Service= good. nice greeting at front, attentive at cleaning dishes. ambiance= good. the place is very clean (but again it just opened). but it is basic set up... table/chairs and buffet.... but this is what i expected to find. price is great for the quality/quantity of food. Very clean. Just what you would expect from a buffet. A mix of Asian food and the standards.

I'm sometimes hesitant with buffets because I worry about it being sanitary and clean, but there were no worries here! All of the food sections were clean, no crumbs, spills, etc. It was also very packed when I went, lunch on Labor Day. There were several workers consistently going around sweeping and making sure everything was well stocked, as well as taking our plates when we were finished. I was pleasantly surprised at all the food they had, especially since a lot of it was seafood. I highly recommend the crunchy fried shrimp (shown in photo), it was my favorite. The sushi is decent but there wasn't much variety! Only a couple different kinds, but it tasted good. The hibachi stir fry was delicious and I appreciated the fresh ingredients. They have lots of seafood (shrimp, octopus, clams, etc...) as well as lots of common Pan-Asian dishes and a small selection of American food. I would suggest maybe a little more variety in the dessert; they have fruit, jello, soft serve, and some small cakes, but I'd love to see some other East Asian desserts like mochi (or mochi ice cream!) or ice cream flavors like taro and matcha. I gotta say this is just another regular buffet the looks of it inside just fools people. I also wanted to check it out due to social media but it did not look as good as the place did. Bathrooms are dirty and smell dirty , I seen there was a failed inspection on June 25' from this place also involving food contamination during preparation of food . me and my partner could taste some of the contamination in the food. Some shrimp I had were so oily and I couldn't ever remove the shell out it was so stuck to the shrimp all of them .. mussels over cooked and rubbery u can taste some food has been sitting for a while if you go to other buffets u see a lot of the same dishes from other places . We both had a bad feeling , by the time we left we only had two small plates of serving because of how the food looked and tasted . we ended up sick after coming here , nauseous , throwing up and bad stomach ache ,Mind you we went there at 6pm so we definitely expected good food . I tried a little bit of everything to see what was good and what wasn't. You can tell that some of the items are premade or prepackaged like the onion rings and chicken nuggets. The sushi was ok but nothing exciting. The hibachi was good though, but there should be a more efficient way of handing the food back to the customers because other people are in the way. The place was clean but the floors were sticky. I did eat the seafood, the mussels tasted fishy (not safe to eat). I also experienced stomach pains and diarrhea for the past two days which are signs of food poisoning.
