With about 5 days to spare, I searched "fine art print shop" in my area and this shop, which is two blocks from where I live, popped up! My partner and I chose a frame we already had, which was large and slightly odd proportions, but after my partner went in to the shop and met Boon, the owner, he assured us that he could make the dimensions work with the photo I'd chosen, plus or minus a bit of the margins. I chose a satin giclee print, because the frame I'd chosen has glass, so glossy wouldn't have looked great and matte might've been too dull? My file size wasn't quite large enough for the size I wanted to expand to, but luckily, Boon had a program to fill in the parts of the image that would've gotten too pixelated and the end result was perfect. It took Boon 3 days to have it ready, which was amazing because it was ready the day before we needed to leave to travel for the holidays! Absolutely amazing customer service, and I love supporting any local small business anytime I can! It cost us just around $100 to have this print made, which I was already anticipating for the size of it, totally acceptable to me! And the shop owner made it clear that duplicates of the print would be cheaper should I ever want more printed, so if you're an artist wanting to print a series of prints, the pricing works in your favor. He is meticulous with color and paper quality, and because of that I've used him for multiple projects from vinyl to poster printing. Great communication and very reasonably priced. Helped my with my class projects for graphic design, and my teaches complemented the quality of the prints. Def recommend, just make sure to call ahead if you have larger projects, or before you drop by because he might be at lunch, a man's gotta eat right?

Are they incredibly friendly and customer service oriented - not exactly but they do get you what you need to know and try to get you along on your way. This is not the kind of place where people would want to ooh and ahh and leave an A+ review because it was so great, or something. So all they seem to get are lousy reviews from people that were frustrated. That's not fair. They will try to help. One time, i recall, the fellow (i guess "erik" per other review comments) even was really kind and just paid for my fax fee himself because I'd forgotten to bring anything with me in rushing out to catch them just before they closed. My mom was also interested in getting a Live Scan done, so she asked the man working there a few questions about the pricing. Unfortunately, his response was rude and dismissive from the beginning. He eventually answered her questions, but continued to have an attitude and even questioned her about who she was. I completely understand that I was the person being serviced and that my mom was not the one receiving the service at that moment. However, she was simply asking a basic question about the prices listed so she could potentially receive the service as well. There was no reason for the interaction to become unnecessarily confrontational or disrespectful. There were other customers waiting for services who witnessed the interaction. After seeing what happened, they decided to leave before receiving service. The employee then asked me why those people had left and assumed they were with my mom and me. They were complete strangers, and I had no idea who they were. My mom simply provided her own name when he questioned her; she never said those customers were with us. I paid $104 for my service, and I should not have had to sit there listening to an employee complain about other customers leaving, especially when I had nothing to do with them. I came in expecting a straightforward service and basic professionalism and respect. When I told him that I was uncomfortable with him bringing up and complaining about people I did not know, he wanted to end the session. I had to convince him to continue with the service that I had already paid for. Having to do that was extremely unacceptable and made an already uncomfortable experience even worse. I came here simply to get my Live Scan done. I expected professional and respectful customer service, and unfortunately, that is not what I received. Glad I did, because I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I had a last-minute commission that I needed to get printed, and this shop got it done with an incredibly quick turnaround. I sent in my request around noon, calling immediately after to request same-day service, and got the email that the order was completed about 20 minutes after I confirmed the final printing details. The total came out to just short of $16 (due to the rush fee) for five 5 x 7-inch prints, which works great for me. For technical folks like myself: the prints were done on 11 x 8.5-inch card stock with indicators for where I needed to cut (I opted to do it myself to avoid the service fee) and were handed to me in a plastic sleeve. They came out perfect, nothing to complain about. Customer service was great too. I presume I was chatting with Anna, who helped me fetch my prints as soon as I told her my order specifications. She was very kind and payment was quick and painless; the cost was exactly as quoted plus tax (which they warn you about in the emailing stage). Even when I called a couple days ahead to ask about their print details (ie. confirming that they use CMYK, PDF, and ~300 dpi for artwork), the individual on the phone was very direct and easy to speak with, handling all of my questions with ease. They recently got a new one, which probably cost $10k, and it still doesn't work. They just refuse to admit it and don't do anything about it. Today I went in to print 3 documents from a flash drive. I tried 3 copy machines. I was able to print 1 document. The others said to "ask for assistance." So then you have to stand in line. 4 people work there, 1 does customer service, the others ignore the people standing in line and do important tasks like emptying the trash. I got tired of it and went back home, put the documents on another flash drive, and came back to try again. Same error message. So I stood in line AGAIN. Finally they printed it for me. To be fair, they didn't charge me, so I would give them a half star for that. Also the guy who did help me, was nice. DO NOT GO THERE for large format architectural or engineering prints. Fillmore Street location is better but call ahead and make sure their machine is working. They do answer the phone. Or try OfficeMax.

On this day, there were two workers and the line was 6 people deep. Granted, the customer being helped was trying to send a package to another country and the length of time working with that one person contributed the backlog. Finally, it was my turn as I brought then a priority express envelope I just filled out. However, the employee tells me they don't overnight priority express anymore and only offer priority mail. I wonder why they had all those priority express envelopes on display. Anyways, I'm glad they let me switch to a priority mail envelope without going back in the line. Parking in the neighborhood can be tough as many meters have no parking indicated :(
