This is a wonderful store for everything and anything for the office, or the classroom. I used to shop here a lot while I was a teacher. Office Max always has everything I need when I visit. The service, however, leaves much to be desired. On more than one occasion I have stood in the checkout line while being completely ignored by store employees. I have actually had to call the store on my phone to get someone to come to the checkout. In one case, the employee was looking right at me when they answered my phone call. This morning was the last straw. A manager helped us find something we were looking for then disappeared. The two other employees in the store were helping two gentlemen for over ten minutes while my wife and I stood within earshot of them. We asked for help, but their backs were to us and they completely ignored us. The cashier was very unapologetic when she came to the register. The manager showed back up just as we were leaving, and apologized for the inconvenience. In my opinion, this crew just does not care. Or perhaps they only care for a certain type of client. We will be taking our office business elsewhere from now on. read more

Excellent customer service. I had a huge print job and needed help getting it to my car. The store manager Elizabeth got a cart and personally helped me. I wasn't sure everything would fit, but she did an admirable job and got all the boxes to fit in my tiny car in the blazing sun, too, better than a high scoring game of Tertis. I waited my turn in line for 10-15 minutes because they were busy and I don't expect that just because I am in a hurry, extra staff will magically appear out of nowhere to assist. Sold me a laser printer w a 2 year warranty but because I lost receipt I'm screwed. I spent 8 hours w people on phone to be given wrong numbers to call and other ways to discourage me. I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE HERE ON 4/20/19. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!! I bought an HP Printer on 4/19/19 and installed it. I had a question about a part that sits on top of the paper tray so I went to the store on 4/20/19 to ask how it attaches to the printer. The associate I asked had on ear phones and said "the Manager said it will cost $49.00 for 30 minutes of Tech advice!" I couldn't believe what I heard and said you don't understand.. I bought the printer yesterday and I don't know how this part goes on the machine. A simple question!! I asked to see the Manager and he now repeated that I had to pay $30.00 for 30 minutes of tech advice!!! I could NOT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS HEARING!! I was completely insulted to find out that they wanted me pay them or suggested I call HP Service for my answer!!! This is NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I am a 75 year old woman and in my life this has NEVER HAPPENED!! I was so upset and said I am returning the printer which I did on 4/21/19. Evidently copying while black is a thing. I watched as the clerks waited on everyone but me. In fact, I assumed they would next pull some white people off the street to make sure I was not helped. The faulty equipment and the obvious prejudice resulted in problems with printing a mere 2 documents. After 20 minutes and watching them help others out of sequence I decided that my Silicon Valley exec-self had had enough. Avoid this one. They are a waste of time and biased to boot! read more

This review is for the copy center. I don't understand the reasoning behind 1 employee working this dept. Let's say this 1 employee is stuck with another customer that's designing and printing 100 signs, that means you, the next customer in line wanting to print a poster, has to wait until someone, anyone knowledgeable enough to print a poster, let alone price it out for you, is available. We went in looking for a printer. I read other reviews saying people couldn't get anyone to help them. We literally had four people ask if we needed any assistance within five minutes. But, it didn't feel like high-pressure sales or anything, so when we were ready to speak to someone they called Jose to head over. I bought a computer desk. They had one girl working the front and the other girl said she was on modified duty. They also told me that another employee was having a medical emergency. No one could help me with getting the desk from the back. I told them okay to call me when the desk would be available. No one called me to let me know. When I finally called the next day they told me the desk was in the front awaiting pick up by me. I don't know why they couldn't have called me. read more

Wish I could post NEGATIVE 25. I had the displeasure of going into OM La Quinta earlier today. By the end of my nightmare experience I CAN HONESTLY say I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER NEVER GO INTO A OM AGAIN. I arrive and there is one person in the copy center who was helping 2 others. She acknowledged me and I said I needed copies. She said they would be available maybe on Friday. I asked about self service and she said I needed a credit card to use the self serve, I don't have one so she had me buy a gift card. I asked if she could just see if my file was on my disk, but said she could but that information would not be available until Friday.....huh? just to see if I copied correctly??? OOook so in the mean time someone else came up for help, she wanted a few labels was told the same thing, won't be ready til friday. Lady was ok, copy center gal sent the lady over for labels. I was getting ready to go try and do the self copy and said behind myself to the gal that I was gonna try and if I needed help I would holler for her, she said, "good luck, I'm leaving for lunch". I thought she was teasing. As there was the 1st lady still sitting at the table and the lady was coming back with her labels, when copy girl walked away, and the 3 of us looked at one another with like, "NOW WHAT"??? I walked to the other cash station asking the girl for help, she had 2 people she was waiting on....called for help, saw a man coming up front and flagged him over. I got him first asked why would copy girl have left when there were 3 of us that needed help. Richard said that it's corporate policy for them to take there lunch then....ok whatever, leave the people to go eat, GREAT customer service NOT!!! I tell him my disk says my file isn't there. I ask him if he can help me, in the meantime label lady comes back, i hear Richard tell her that they are getting away from the small order's, (little people) is how I took it and so did she cuz she said that to me. And ONLY catering to the business accounts. Wow I mean wow, who tells a customer that.... O Richard does and DID!!! I beg him to please just see if my file is in there, he did, and said he couldn't read it. I ask him to help me transfer it from my computer to my disk, he said it's $45 dollars an hour to do that. WHAT???? You can't help me copy it??? nope, so I go back tell him I want my money back from the gift card, he tells me to go over there to get it. The poor girls over there had no idea what or how to do it and from what they were saying he was the only one who could do it. So i go back to the copy station and wait for him to finish with label lady and follow him back from were i just had been while the lady who had been sitting at the copy center has been waiting for someone to show her how to scan her document while Richard it telling her instructions as he's walking away. I have never seen such poor customer service in my entire life and to tell label lady we are trying to eliminate the small orders for business orders.....wow, again just wow. U could not pay me to ever walk into a OM again for the rest of my life. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service and if ur already this backed up and it's not even December heaven help the poor little man who walks in thinking he's gonna get help....it aint happening at this store anyways! Oh and on the GREAT side, I went across the street to the UPS Store, I was in and out in less then 8 minutes. AND the lady put my disk in her computer and yeah u guessed it, IT WAS RIGHT THERE!!!!! I went into the La Quinta store today to print some material for a business presentation and to print some blueprints. My personal jump drive was currupt and could not be opened, instead of being deterred James and Jesse in the copy center went above and beyond normal customer service to resolve the problem and ensure I had what I needed to make the presentation. This was probably the worst retail experience ever..Quoted price by asst mgr on a laptop and when I returned to make purchase, store mgr James, refused to honor the quote..I asked that he call the salesperson Rich, who was off , to confirm the quote, which he did, after rudely refusing. to do so..When Rich confirmed that he may have quoted the lower price, James.. was adamant that he would not honor the price, and asked me to leave the store..His lack of courtesy and belligerence was unacceptable, and all should know..Terrible customer service..Last time for me and many friends read more

I would give them a big fat ZERO stars if I could!!!! This is the worst place for customer service! My father passed away and I ordered memorial brochures, canvas picture, and clear lables. The memorial service to be held out of the country, so I thought it would be safe to have them done two weeks prior to leaving. After 7 days from my order still no order. I went back and forth via phone with the printing Dept ( total of 10 calls and left on hold for over 10mins every call) I was told they would be ready. Waited for a proof read email that never came. I called back again day 9 and finally received the email to proof read.. what a joke! Completely wrong, no spaces, misspelling, or off spacing (they're supposed to be the professionals). Now day 10 and still no luck, again I call and speak to the branch manager Richard and he's states he's sorry but they are really busy, and I remind him that it's now been 10 days going on 11 and I leave out of the country in two days AND these are for a memorial out of the country. I also remind him that at the time the order was placed, I was guaranteed completion would be in 5 days. The manager assures me the job will been done the following day after 3pm. I get to Office Max around 3pm day 11.. only to be told that the only thing ready is the canvas picture and the lables (done incompletely and not on clear lables). The brochure still needed to be cut and folded. I asked to look at them and aging it looked like a complete amateur did them with all fonts different, misspelling, no spacing etc. I again spoke with the manager Richard and he advised me that they are super busy with Stagecoach printing ( awe..SC is 6 months away) and stated he could not guarantee that they would be done the following morning... the 12th day and the day we leave out of the country! Here we are day 14 (I'm out of the country now) and I have never heard back from Office Max nor Richard the manager, let alone an email regarding my very very important memorial brochure order (I have international cell service). I was fortunate to find a professional printer right after I left Office Max/Depot around 4:00pm.. Signs and Printing Mirage 760.776.4600. Joe was so graciously enough to understand my sad dilemma and was able to print my brochures and my labels that very same evening. I will NEVER EVER step foot or use Office Max/Depot in Palm Desert again. I now only use a professional like Joe or Staple's. read more

First of all, this location is not closed. Second, their printing center, is terrible. The worst customer service! I'm a nursing student with a deadline when it comes to studying, I came in to have 20 small cards laminated at 3 pm and was told they would be done by 5:30 that night because they were "busy." I came back the next day at 12 noon and guess what??? Nobody had even started on my cards. No one apologized they just stared at me. Complete idiots. This is not customer service. I had to wait around for 30 minutes for my cards to be done, I wasn't offered any discount, and again no apology. Get with the program, Office Depot. You suck. read more

I ordered a file cabinet and waited all day Friday for the delivery. It was scheduled to be delivered between 8:00 - 5:00. Got an email at 6:47 that they were not coming and it would be delivered on Monday from 8:00 - 5:00. It's 6:21 and they say that it might be delivered before 8:00. I wasted two days waiting on a file cabinet delivery? This is crazy and the customer service has you on hold for 30 minutes and all they can do is read the same update that is online. Also, you are unable to cancel your order because it has already been picked up by the 3rd party delivery service. No idea when this file cabinet will show up but I do know that I will never buy anything online at OfficeMax. Total disaster!!! read more

I go here to get some printing done I send over to have printing out. But every-time I come in here I am waiting in line for along time because there's only one person at service desk printing out stuff and helping one customer at a time. There very slow when your in a hurry. I sent over a lot of stuff to be printed and I'm always waiting because there helping somebody else on the computer. They see us waiting but they don't say anything and continue to ignore us. It's very frustrating. If I had another place closer by I could print my papers out I would but I come here. They need to get more people helping out here in the printing side that can help more customers. There's always people standing in line getting mad waiting all on one person to be done while the other employees just walk around because there very slow. If your in a hurry I wouldn't send prints or emails to them. read more

I live local and stopped in to get one quick item, which I couldn't find so I ended up roaming most of the store and I passed four different employees who did not say hi or offer any assistance. I finally found it and I passed one more employee who ignored me and the checkout girl, "Kayla" was sweet and kind. The store had more employees in it that customers...maybe not a surprise when there is a lack of effort. I drove to the store after making a phone call to be sure they had the item I wanted. I was told there was no problem, that they had it in stock by the person who answered the phone (she did not bother to check, she were so confident). When I arrived at the store, I looked over about 400 options of the item I wanted (a binder with a pressure clip so it is not necessary to punch holes in the pages). Alas I couldn't locate even one, so I went searching for help. He said he was busy and would be right with me. I waited ten minutes and then went to the front desk clerk. She pushed her intercom device to try to find someone available but no one seemed to respond. I asked again after she finished talking to a friend and was assured Carlos would help me in the binder department. Sadly Carlos did not arrive - he was probably in back filling out his application for Staples! As I was about to walk out, the clerk who had been busy informed me they didn't have the type of binder I was looking for. I asked him if perhaps the person who answered the phone might know where they were but he assured me they didn't have them. I hope he told the phone person. I won't be making a trip there again. Staples is closer and infinitely more helpful anyway. So much for Office Minimum! read more

I totally agree with other posts on here. Ever since office max and office depot merged together I feel like it's gone to crap. I would ALWAYS go to Office Depot for everything and now I have to go to office max.. Not s fan. Went in today to get some stamps, the lady rang me up and I paid for the stamps and then she tells me " oh we don't have stamps ".... Why didn't you check first !?!?!?! I hate doing refunds because it takes a while for the money to get back into my account. It's just common sense to hand someone there merchandise before paying and ending the transaction. It's okay, I found any other place to get my stamps at. I won't need to go there anymore. read more
