Food is very low quality. I had my dish returned because it was uncooked. The gumbo is watery and barely had any seafood even though it was a seafood gumbo. The chicken was not crispy. Exactly what I was hoping for. Quick service food that is as good as any restaurant. It's mostly fried food of course, and let me tell you I cleaned every inch of that plate. I got the shrimp and catfish platter with a cup of crawfish étouffée. Hook sauce and tartar sauce on the side. If you're indecisive, just get this - you'll be satisfied and full. No idea what to have for dinner and don't want to cook? Try Off the Hook. They were running a special on their chicken finger box so we decided to try it. I ordered online and went to pick it up. It was ready when I got there. I was shocked when I opened the box and saw what they call chicken fingers! These weren't fingers! They were breasts! There were 3 huge "fingers" in the box. I ate one a half and saved the rest. It came with fries that were good and travel well and two decent hush puppies. You had your choice of sauces and we choose the hooks sauce which is like a sauce from another chicken finger place. This was my first experience with the place and it was a good one. I have eaten here twice and enjoyed the gumbo and fish. This visit, a few days ago, I decided to try their roast beef poboy w/extra gravy on the side for dipping. It was Delicious, only a few places do it right in Baton Rouge and this was messy and flavorful. I ordered the shrimp po' boy with red beans & rice. This does not taste like fast food! The shrimp is lightly fried, not greasy, and it's not overly breaded. The beans are spicy but not too spicy. My only critique is they use styrofoam cups, which are terrible for the environment, and they neglected to add hot sauce (but neither did I think to ask for it.) I'll be back!! read more

I love this place! I'm so glad there is one in Baton Rouge so I don't have to travel to the Gonzales location! The food is pretty good! The service is ok! It's not what I'm use to at the other location but it's not bad! It's also a plus that the shrimp platters are only $7 for the month of July. My only gripe is I've had gumbo twice and there was little to no meat. I've gotten ample portions of meats at the other location. read more

Apparently they do not know how to make a poboy. Having college/high school aged kids cooking or preparing food should be left for the burger franchises. We've been trying hamburgers at different places in town so when Off the Hook in Baton Rouge advertised that they now had burgers we decided to give them a try. Now, I'm the kind of person who likes a decent amount of mayo and mustard on my burger. Most places barely put a spot on. There was the perfect amount of mayo and mustard. Actually, there was the perfect amount of all toppings. Three of us got hamburgers and we each had different additions and deletions to our order and they got them all right! Again, this doesn't happen often. We wanted the burgers well done and they were. The bun was soft and the perfect complement to the large delicious burger. I will definitely be picking up a hamburger from Off the Hook in the future and will tell me other hamburger loving friends about them. read more

The Food at Off the Hook is second to none, but this review is about the horrible service we received from the server "Ira G". When we walked in we were greeted "Y'all know what y'all want or no." That is not the first thing somebody wants to hear when walking into a place. I've been in this location multiple times and never greeted by the other servers in such a way. When we were done dining in, we asked Ira for 2 to-go boxes and a to go cup. He only gave us one then caught an attitude when we asked for another box and the cup by saying "Can you wait while I go grab it damn". I never left a review for a place before but this service really upset me. read more

Went through the drive through and got the fried fish and fries plate with a side of red beans. Also I tried the hook sauce which is actually pretty good as well. A bit pricey but the food is good and I didn't have to wait long so I can appreciate that when I'm on the go!!! read more

Off the Hook is basically a Captain D's with a smaller menu. It is fast food and the food tastes like fast food. They have fried shrimp and no cocktail sauce. Who eats shrimp without cocktail sauce? Anyway, if you're looking for some "ok" fish and are in a hurry then this place will do but don't expect much. read more

ordered several items: the catfish platter was very disappointing for the price. got 4 pieces of fish each about 4" long & 1" to 1 1/2" wide menu did not state how many pieces in order. sub reg fries for the swamp fries (French fries with cheese & crawfish étouffée on top) & this was very good. also ordered the onion rings which were good. just think portion of fish on platter should be larger, otherwise enjoyed the food. read more
